Can I Do Affiliate Marketing Without a Website?

2009-11-02T01:18:00.000-08:00

By Erik Saether

Many people start out their internet marketing career by doing affiliate marketing and then later work into creating their own products. These new affiliates tend to be doing marketing part-time around a regular 9-5 job in order to get extra money for the budget. Often, they don't have the funds to pay for a domain and hosting when they are starting out and they worry that they won't be successful without their own website.

While it is true, it is harder to gain credibility when you don't have your own website; it certainly is possible to begin your affiliate marketing journey without having to have your own website.

Thank you, Web 2.0

There are many web 2.0 properties available where you can get free web space to promote your affiliate products. Places like Squidoo.com and HubPages can be very good for those just starting out.

Many of these services will allow you to put an affiliate link within your content but you must be careful to be providing a lot of content on the sites.

For those that do not allow a direct affiliate link, you can easily set up a free blog at sites such as blogger.com - then you can link your content to your blog where you will further direct the reader to your affiliate product.

Free host solutions

There are also various free hosts on the web, like weebly.com, where you can create a regular web page from which to promote your affiliate products. Many of the free hosts do not offer much in the way of support and they usually will limit how much space and bandwidth available. However, if you take the time to provide good content, you should be able to make some sales.

When researching free hosts, take your time and compare the options before deciding on which one to use. Choose the one with the best reviews and you should have no problems starting your affiliate marketing business.

The pros of free

Starting out with the free web 2.0 properties or free hosts serves two purposes. It will give you some good experience with setting up a web page, optimizing your content and developing your sales abilities.

Starting with the free options will also enable you to get the money you need to purchase your own domain and hosting without having to take the cash from your personal budget.

While having your own website is certainly more professional and credible in the long run, starting out without your own site is definitely possible and the experience you gain could make your business more successful in the long term.

Disciplining Your Kids

2009-10-31T16:20:00.000-07:00

By Rosalie Lynch

If you ask parents if they enjoy dishing out discipline to their kids, the answer will always be "no" they do not enjoy it. After all it makes them feel bad and of course it makes the kid feel bad. You may be surprised at the attitude of some kids toward discipline.

When you have to discipline your kid they want to know and understand what they are doing wrong that caused them to be punished. And as a parent, I am sure you think your kid understands what they did wrong and you don't need to explain it to them. Most kids lack short term memory and most of the time they do not even remember what they did to get your negative reaction. A yelling match and a spanking on the bottom without a lesson to be learned is nothing more than abuse, in my opinion.

The kids think it is the responsibility of the parents to explain to the kid why they are being disciplined. I am sure the kids will argue that your explanation is stupid and they should not have been punished. However, if you ask kids when they are calm and detached from punishment, they will tell you they want to know why their parents reacted the way they did by punishing them.

Kids want to know their boundaries. When they overstep their boundaries and get disciplined, without a clear understanding as to why, the lesson is not learned and their unacceptable behavior will reoccur. Kids said they do not mind being disciplined, although they clearly think spankings are extreme and not needed as long as they know the "why".

There are many ways in which children can earn money easily. Earning money can make them responsible and hence they are helpful in making children aware of job responsibilities and the joys of earning one's money. The following are some of the most common ways in which kids can make money online:

• Babysitting: If one's child is fond of younger children than baby sitting is a very good choice for them. There are many people who need good and reliable baby sitters that need to take care of their kids. The child can be a part of a regular baby sitting service as well.

• Parents Helper: A parents helper is very similar to a baby sitter. If the child is too young to baby sit kids than he can act as a parents helper by doing some household chores around the house. How Will the 2012 Planet Alignment Affect Us?

2009-10-29T20:48:00.000-07:00

By Maya Prodgers

Come the winter solstice, 2012, the planets will be positioned in a rare alignment that has taken thousands of years to come about. Many people around the world are wondering how this alignment will affect us.

The most common fear is that the gravitational pull of the other planets will all act together and cause such a huge pull on the Earth that earthquakes result. The pull would be greater on one side than the other given that there are more planets further out than there are between us and the Sun.

However, this fear seems unfounded, as the gravitational pull decreases significantly as the distance from us increases. Yet, since this kind of alignment has not occurred in human memory, there is no way to know for sure whether the gravitational pull of one planet will cancel out that of another or whether they would magnify each other. The results wait to be seen.

Other people say that it will be increased tidal forces that are more likely, given the fact that it is the gravitational effect of the moon that causes the tidal shifts on Earth. Again, there is a chance that with the distances involved, and the fact that one planet's gravity may cancel out another's. that any changes to the tides will be negligible.

The other fears are that there may be a shift in the position of the Earth's poles around the same time as the planets come into alignment. If these events coincide-will the potential effects be magnified?

The 2012 planet alignment may come and go without incident and only time will tell, but in this case as ever, forewarned is forearmed. You need to do what you can to protect yourself and your family. Will the Mayan 2012 Prophecy Come True?

2009-10-29T20:38:00.000-07:00

By Maya Prodgers

Some believe that the world will end based on the fact that the Mayan Long Count Calendar ends on December 21, 2012. But is this really a prediction for the end of the world? The problem with any prophecy is that until the time of the predicted event has been and gone, there is no way for sure that we can say that they will or will not come true. But there are things that we can look at for a guideline, things that we know to be true.

Here's the story. The Mayans as a people existed for thousands of years and were already around two thousand years before Christ. In their time. they were one of the most advanced people in the world and understood abstract concepts, such as the value of zero, long before other civilizations did.

Meanwhile, they were also astronomers and had a great deal of understanding about the movement of the stars to the point that they were able to predict the positions of stars thousands of years in advance. Not only that, but they developed a calendar system based upon the movement of the stars that would go on to regulate the way that they ran their lives. They had accurately measured the length of the year by the sun, to a far higher degree than any European civilization, and had made hugely precise observations of the heavens.

You see, they were mathematical geniuses who were able to perform calculations into the millions, calculations that few even today could perform. All this was without computer support.

Think about it. All of this was done without the special instrumentation that we have today. Clearly, they had knowledge and experience of the stars that no one else had at that time. Though no one can say for sure that the prophecy will prove to be correct until the time comes around, you can't deny that they had incredible knowledge at a time that others lacked it.

Surely then, isn't it possible that they knew other things that we don't know? Though there will be no way to be sure in advance that they are right, it would seem that this is a people that we should be taking notice of.

Are you ready for the end times? If the [http://2012-official-countdown-review.com/]Mayan 2012 prophecy is true, you had better get ready. You don't have much time left. The Realities of 2012

2009-10-29T20:34:00.000-07:00

By Anagarika Eddie

As with most serious problems in our country, only a crisis of major proportions generates action. By the time action is taken, however, it is always a day late and a dollar short. This results in bad judgment and further serious consequences. But this time it's going to be 2012, the end of our world as we know it.

All of the following will not happen by 2012. By 2012, however, the handwriting will be on the wall, and it will say that the only way we could ever get our power back is through a world war.

Both parties of congress point fingers at each other regarding the deficit, but neither acts when they are in power. That would be political suicide. Better to kick the can down the road and let the next group in power worry about it.

This arrangement of can kicking has worked for a long time, but it's obvious that we are about to get OUR can kicked.

The realities of 2012 involve a laundry list of eventual cuts that will affect every level of society from our adored military to our beloved entitlements and everything in between. Things will look nothing as they look today. Our military will be a shell of its former grandeur and old folks will be either roaming or rooming; roaming the streets or rooming with their kids, and getting medical care from the local pharmacist or medicine man.

Obviously things are changing rapidly. We can still borrow our way out of deficit spending, but each year that escape route becomes increasingly rocky. Within a short period of time, our industrial base, which has kept us in power for a century, will disintegrate to the point of eventual and irrevocable decline.

Politically, there will be no way around this. The only way to unite the disenchanted populace, about to tear each other to shreds arguing over who will get the crumbs that are left over, is war. People will be too incensed by their devastated standard of living and lifestyle to be in any mood for a gradual recovery that actually can never happen considering global competition.

The hatred and anger and finger pointing has already begun. Just watch TV for a moment or listen to Hate Radio.

At his juncture in time, 2012, the only thing that we can look forward to is an increasingly weakened military compared to developing nations such as China. Our only ace in the hole, so to speak, will be our nuclear weapons.

Because of our values which have developed in a undeviating straight line graph toward wealth, we have nothing to fall back on. The prospect of living in third world conditions down the road are unthinkable because of the large national ego we have cultivated and our national pride that will once again lead us into war.

There have been no serious attempts to develop spiritual values. Most religions justify moneymaking as a holy thing, as would be expected in a materialistic and capitalistic society where wealth is the pseudo God. So there is no way out of this scenario.

The war room will consider the number of people lost in an all-out nuclear war as logistics, just necessary casualties, and revel in the aftermath which will bring us back to our greatness again, with the help of God. Then there will be the contrived "incident," with escalations cleverly planned out and executed.

. . . And May God help us all. And keep us all wealthy.
