Hello everybody,

I have updated the Basic Spanish 1 and Basic Spanish 2 documents to improve the readability. Now you can properly see the document outline if you use google docs to visualize them.
Also, in the index sections, each entry is a link to the actual section.
Hope they are easier to follow now.

I have divided the old Basic Spanish 1 document (see resources) in two new docs to make it nicer the printing issue. The contents have not changed, just some minor tweaks here and there. But now you can decide to print the Basic Grammar or the examples that support it separately.

Added a new Basic Spanish 1 with class examples

Hello everybody!

I have been working in a new improved version for Basic Spanish 1 and decided to make it available even though it is not finished yet. I think that the examples we have been using in class may help understand the grammar faster. It is not finished (will ever be?) but hope it may help you.

I don't think that to print it is the best idea because there are a lot of blank pages waiting to be filled (or you can print it and write down your own examples). In any case, download the file as pdf instead of directly print the google docs version.

hope my next post will not take as long as this one :-p

Working on Basic Spanish 2

I have published a new document called Basic Spanish 2. It is not finished but I wanted to make it available so you can have a first glance of the next step. It is mainly aimed for Level 2 students. Anyway, don´t forget that first you need to masted Basic Spanish 1.

Some changes in Basic Spanish 1

I have made some changes in Basic Spanish 1 to make it easier to understand.

Now the verb "like" is in annex 2 and the preposition "to" is on annex 3. I have tried to make the explanation for the verb "gustar" clearer and straightforward but, as always, if there is any problem understanding it, please let me know in class time.

Chapter 3 of the Level 3 story "Las Aventuras de Ariadna" is available here. Check it and make sure you understand every word. You can ask me about any expression you may find difficult to understand and we will discuss them in class.

Remember that learning need not be a traumatic experience @_@

The "acentuación" Annex is finished

Yes, I have just finished the Annex about "acentos", the way we have in Spanish to indicate where to put the stress of the word. Check it out at the Basic Spanish 1 document. Also added new stuff in the Spanish Vocabulary by Helu file. Now you can learn what to say on your next trip to Spain.

I have just posted here the Midterm Exams my Level 1 and 2 students did during this second semester. They are good exercises to check some interesting points about Spanish. Would you have passed them?

Life goes on and one exam makes no difference at all, so stop worrying :-)

Some changes in Basic Spanish Doc

I have added some examples almost at the end of the Basic Spanish Grammar document to try to clarify the imperfect and perfect aspects when used with past or present tense. If you understand them, that's it!!!!!
But if you don't, do not panic we will try it again and again. Millions out there use it on a daily basis, it cannot be that difficult, just takes some time :-)

...and remember that MIDTERM is around the corner >_<
