Coon Shoot

1. Registration will be held outside the garage
2. Coon Shoot registration is from 8pm-11pm $10.00 a shooter.
3. $10.00 includes 14 targets, glow stick,& snack.
4. Shoot Starts at 9 pm.
5. No more than 4 people per group

Camp Out

1. Any Hemlock member may camp out.
2. If camping out you must sign  insurance waver by May 26,2013
3. All campers must camp on the side of garage.(this is the darkest area)
4. You can set up as early as 12 noon.
5. Each family is responsible for bring their own camping gear and food. (pack as if you were going to a camp ground)
6. Hemlock is not supplying food or camping gear.(remember to bring your own chairs)
7. Bathrooms will be open. (please clean up after yourself)
8. Campfire can only be in firepit and no where else.

Larry Miller will bring a grill

Terry Sholly will bring  dutch ovens, mountain pie makers

Reifsnyders will bring camping stove

Takoch’s will bring mountain pie makers

MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT, DIRK REIFSNYDER

2013 has been a good year for Hemlock, we have new leagues running on the indoor range and our youth programs have high enrollments.  NEW this year is a 3D Night shoot along with a camp-out /campfire for Hemlock Members on Saturday, June 1, 2013.  I would like to send out a heartfelt “THANK YOU” to all the members of Hemlock, as well as the parents, volunteers, officers and directors who give their time to assist with the many club activities.

Our Oldies Dances

Our Oldies Dances were so unbelievably popular, we were asked to bring them back again! DANCE & PARTY to “Cruisin Down Memory Lane”, Music from the 60’s up……  Saturday, June 8, 2013, Doors open at 6:30 PM.  Tickets $20 Includes Food, Beer, and Door Prizes.  Bring your dollars for awesome raffles!   Come in Shorts, Halter Tops & Beach Wear.  Call 989-4564 for tickets.

“NIGHT SHOOT”

Saturday, June 1, 2013 – 8 PM, $10 per person, includes snacks and a Glo stick.   Please bring a flashlight along.  Signup sheet at the club.  Registration is from 8PM till 10 PM.
Overnight Campout for Members and their families only.  Sign up sheet at the club.  Tent setup starts at 1PM on Saturday, June 1st.  Tents will be set up on the grass by the garage.  YOU must sign a campout liability form due to the club’s insurance policy.  EACH Family is responsible for supplying food for their family for the entire event, supplying their own LAWN CHAIRS and cleaning up the club grounds and area used in the clubhouse when the event closes.  Please call Crystal Takoch with questions regarding the campout (717) 679-1463.

Penn Dutch Shoot

April 20/21st at Hemlock.  Good amount of shooters for the Penn Dutch shoot .  ALL the round the clock work that Larry and Steve did for the past few months along with assistance from Dirk Reifsnyder, Jason Foltz, Rick Conley, Andy Nelson, Adam Hain, Brian McKenna and others has Hemlock rated # 1 for the outside course.   Great to see the kids on the course – that is the most kids that have shot  Hemlock’s Penn Dutch in years!  The comments from men (from other clubs) when they were coming in regarding the course condition were – this is the BEST condition this course has been in YEARS, targets great condition , many commented on the NEW BULL DOG targets, the stakes and markers were properly done and YEP they liked the green and orange markings – marking the trail.

Tri County Summer 3D League Shoot

Sunday, April 28, 2013 Hemlock hosted their first 2013 Tri County Summer 3D League Shoot. Shooter turnout was good.  Mr. & Mrs. Adam Hain and Mr. & Mrs. Dirk Reifsnyder provided Grilled Hamburgers and Hot Dogs for the shooters.  Thanks to all involved with setting up, working the day of the shoot and tearing down.  MARK YOUR CALENDAR -Saturday June 8 & June 9 is the next Summer 3D League Shoot at Hemlock. Bring your friends along to enjoy the course.
Recurve archery equipment at the club, in the JOAD Room is available for Rent.  The rental fee is $10 per day.  PLEASE contact Crystal or Steve Takoch, Larry Miller or Sherry Cassel with any rental needs.

Hemlock ATV / Tractor Guidelines – (Liability Insurance)

•    No one between 8 and 15 may operate an ATV unless on parent’s land and have a safety training certificate.
•    No one under 16 may cross a highway or operate an ATV on designated roads unless in possession of a safety certificate and with an adult 18 or older.
•    16 Year old may operate an ATV only with a Driver License permit / Driver’s License.
•    Helmets are required in the state of PA.
•    ATV use on any street or highway is prohibited, except to cross and except for roads designated as ATV roads.
•    No ATV shall be operated without a lighted headlight and taillight from ½ hour after sunset to ½ hour before sunrise.
•    No one under age 21may operate Hemlock’s Bucket Tractor or Tractor Mower.
DISCIPLINARY ACTION WILL BE TAKEN FOR VIOLATING THE HEMLOCK ATV / TRACTOR GUIDELINES.

HEMLOCK NEWS April 2013

Many Happy Winners left the ANNUAL FUNDRAISER on Saturday, March 23, 2013. The $500 Bonus ticket winner was Hemlock Member Mrs. John Kline. Many of the monetary drawings were won by our members also. Bob Zug won the rocker, Andy Nelson won the grill and Charles Gingrich won the Love Seat.
A SPECIAL THANKS to Terry Sholley for his contribution of hats, which were a “BIG HIT” with everyone. Terry also provided an Electronic sign “THANK YOU for supporting Hemlock”. Without the Great TEAM of workers: Mr. & Mrs. Larry Miller, Mr. & Mrs. Ed Davies. Keith Gibson, Mr. & Mrs. Steve Takoch, Mr. & Mrs. Dirk Reifsnyder, Mr. & Mrs. Rick Conley and Brian McKenna the event would not have been a success.

Summer Field League starts Saturday, April 20, 2013. The League will run for 10 weeks. The League will NOT Shoot on Thursdays or the Fourth Sunday of every month to allow the 3D Leagues to have free reign of the property. You shoot once per week (Sunday thru Saturday), 14 TARGETS, whenever you want using the honor system. Signup sheets on Range Doors. Contact Dirk Reifsnyder (717) 679-7678 with questions.

State competition for JOAD recurve – week-end of April 6-7, 2013

Congratulations to the following Hemlock Shooters:

Tyler Kleinfelter, placed 1st in Junior Category overall champion, with scores of 259 & 232
Trevor Quarry and Jacob Bucks, who took 1st & 2nd respectively in overall Cub category with scores of Trevor: 259/ 263 Jacob had a 258/259. They both also medaled 1st and 3rd, in the merit pin class as well.
Jordan Atz, on his first time at states, medaled 3rd in his merit pin class. And also moved up to the next pin class, shooting his personal best with a 211/199
Logan Sholley, who shot the JOAD compound division and medaled 3rd in his merit pin class shooting a 280/278
Many of the shooters were first timers and Hemlock JOAD overall definitely put the name on the map.
