The Black Keys have issued a new version of a video for their latest single, “Gold On The Ceiling” from their album, “El Camino.”

The original was released in February – watch it here.

While the original featured footage of the Keys on tour, this one is more conceptual, with the duo dressed up in fluffy baby costumes being carried by two men in Black Keys masks.

The new version is directed by Harmony Korine, who has directed cult films such as “Kids,” “Gummo,” “Julien Donkey-Boy” and “Mister Lonely.”

The Black Keys will perform the track on the MTV Movie Awards this Sunday as part of a tribute to Johnny Depp, who is receiving the MTV Generation Award.

Aerosmith to present Johnny Depp with honor at MTV Movie Awards

Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry will be on hand at the MTV Movie Awards this Sunday to present Johnny Depp with the MTV Generation Award.

The MTV Generation Award is the Movie Awards' highest honor, acknowledging an actor who can be counted on to engage the MTV audience with everything he or she does ... previous recipients include Reese Witherspoon, Sandra Bullock, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey.

For nearly four decades now, Depp has brought his own iconic style to life on the small screen (in "21 Jump Street"), in cult faves like "Ed Wood" and "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," and in big-screen smashes like "Sleepy Hollow," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and, of course, the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise.

As part of the celebration, the Black Keys will perform a special rendition of their hit "Gold On The Ceiling" in Depp's honor.

The MTV Movie Awards will be hosted by comedian Russell Brand and will air live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California on Sunday, June 3 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Depp joined Alice Cooper, Perry and Tyler on stage at the premier afterparty for the new Tim Burton film, "Dark Shadows," on May 7 to play some classic rock tracks by The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones.

Def Leppard have recorded new versions of a couple of their classic hits to help promote their upcoming summer tour and the use of their songs in the forthcoming “Rock Of Ages” film.

Leppard have re-done both "Pour Some Sugar On Me" and "Rock Of Ages"; the songs will be available at all digital music retailers on Monday, June 4.

Leppard have also billed their summer tour as Rock Of Ages, after the band’s hit from their 1983 release, “Pyromania,” and the Broadway play-turned-movie starring Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Russell Brand and Julianne Hough.

The soundtrack to the upcoming film will be released June 5 — ten days before the movie hits theatres. "Rock Of Ages: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" includes Cruise's renditions of Leppard’s "Pour Some Sugar On Me" and Guns N’ Roses’ "Paradise City."

The Rock Of Ages tour, which features Leppard with Poison and Lita Ford, kicks off June 20 in Salt Lake City.

Ozzy Osbourne continues his run of fill-in shows to make up for the cancelled Black Sabbath reunion tour this year.

On Thursday, Ozzy and Friends played the Spektrum in Oslo, Norway, with the now standard setlist mix of Sabbath classics and Ozzy solo tunes.

Along for the ride are Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, former Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde and Ozzy band members Gus G., Rob Nicholson and Tommy Clufetos.

Guns N’ Roses banning Slash tshirts at UK concerts

Axl Rose can sure hold a grudge.

It’s been more than 16 years since Axl last spoke with Slash, but the NME reports Guns N’ Roses current line-up's management team have taken extreme steps to distance themselves from their classic version, by banning anyone coming to their UK tour from wearing a Slash t-shirt.

During the band's gig at London's O2 Arena on Thursday, an NME source noticed that a member of the crowd was bare-chested under his jacket. When asked why, 18-year old James Revell said he was told to remove his top because no one was allowed in wearing a Slash T-shirt.

The source then asked security if this was the case and was told by a member of the venue's team: "We were told by the management not to allow anyone into the O2 Arena who is wearing a Slash T-shirt and we are asking anyone who is to remove it and if they refuse they will be turned away."

Speaking to NME on Friday about his ordeal, Revell described what had happened. He said: "I felt very angry because I was looking after my little brother at the time and felt as though my freedom to wear what I want had been taken away from me, however i did not react angrily as I didn't want to spoil the show for him."

However, the show was spoiled for Revell due to Axl’s continued insistence on disrespecting his fans by intentionally being late on stage for every show.

"I have never experienced anything as insulting as that at a concert before and I had to sit there in my little brothers jumper and wait for Axl to turn up well over an hour late, which we could only stay to watch 3 songs as we had to catch a train back. I think that Axl Rose doesn't appreciate his fans or anyone for that matter, he needs to grow up and stop acting like a child."

Slash has a new solo album, “Apocalyptic Love,” to promote and, while he continues to do just that, his recent Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction as a member of Guns N’ Roses is still on people’s minds.

Slash spoke about the Rock Hall experience recently with Fox News' Fox 411.

“It’s really about the band,” explains Slash. “The entity that recorded that music that we were inducted for. And, so, it’s not about me personally. I don’t know if I feel that much about it personally, but I feel proud to have been involved in creating the music that that band recorded.”

Following all the drama that led up to the April 14 event in Cleveland, Slash remains pleased with the results.

“I’m glad I went,” he says. “There was a lot of mixed feelings about the whole thing. There was the positive side to it which is, obviously, being acknowledged by the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, but then the negative side is like, ‘how are we going to pull this together.’ Given our history, it didn’t seem possible. At the end, the people that wanted to be there and accept the acknowledgment showed up and we got to play and it worked out really good and it was a great experience.”

Aerosmith have a new single, “Legendary Child,” to promote, and the band did just that last week when they performed the track on the American Idol season finale.

The song will appear on both the new album, “Music From Another Dimension,” due August 28 – and in the film "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," which hits US theatres on June 29.

In addition to the new tune, the Boston band also rocked Idol with their classic, “Walk This Way.”

Aerosmith’s Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford spoke with Access Hollywood following the Idol finale about the experience.

“It was a moment we’ve been looking forward to,” explains Hamilton. “The opportunity - no matter where it is - to bring the news that we’ve got a new record out, a new song ‘Legendary Child.’ I can’t believe it – it’s up on iTunes, and it’s just an unbelievably exciting satisfying moment.”

Metallica is sharing more video from their 2012 European Summer Vacation tour.

The band played the Stade de France in Paris on May 12.

The tour sees the metal icons performing their 1991 self-titled (“Black”) album in its entirety for the first time, and the band offers it up with a twist: they perform the songs in reverse order so they can end the regular set with “Enter Sandman.”

Metallica are now sharing some footage from the Paris event, including video of the guys going over the new “Enter Sandman” part, the pre-show huddle, and “Of Wolf And Man” from the concert.

Led Zeppelin: Jimmy Page upset at London Olympics snub

Led Zeppelin guitar legend Jimmy Page isn’t very pleased with the London Olympics these days.

Page helped promote the London event at the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, where he performed “Whole Lotta Love” next to a red double-decker bus with UK singer Leona Lewis.

The Telegraph reports the guitarist is very “upset” that he has not been invited to attend, let alone perform at, the opening ceremony of the London Games.

“Of course, I’m feeling rather hurt,” he tells Mandrake at the Diamond Jubilee Celebration of the Arts at the Royal Academy. “We put so much into Beijing, but weren’t helped by the Chinese giving us next-to-no practice time.”

The London Olympics run July 27 through August 12.

Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Izzy Stradlin joined his old band on stage at the O2 Arena in London on Thursday.

Stradlin teamed up with GNR to perform the songs "14 Years," "You Could Be Mine," "Dead Flowers," "Knockin' On Heaven's Door," "Nightrain," and "Paradise City."

The rarest of tracks on this night was was the “Use Your Illusion II” song “14 Years,” which hasn’t been played live since 1991.

Stradlin’s last appearance with a GNR lineup came in 2006.

Rush’s new album, “Clockwork Angels,” hits stores June 12.

Rush initially offered up two tracks – “Caravan” and “BU2B” – in 2010 as a work-in-progress preview of the new project before the group headed out on their extensive Time Machine tour.

The album’s lead single, "Headlong Flight," is out now.

Festival season is in full swing in Europe as rock fans gather to celebrate live music.

Metallica’s European Summer Vacation tour made a festival stop of its own at Rock In Rio in Lisbon, Portugal on May 25.

The tour sees the metal icons performing their 1991 self-titled (“Black”) album in its entirety for the first time, and the band offers it up with a twist: they perform the songs in reverse order so they can end the regular set with “Enter Sandman.”

Metallica are now sharing some footage from the Lisbon festival, including video of the pre-show meet and greet, tuning room and the performance of “Don’t Tread On Me” from the concert.

Metallica play the Rock Am Ring festival in Nurburgring, Germany this Saturday, and the band will stream the show live at OrionMusicAndMore.com.

Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Izzy Stradlin joined his old band – or what’s left of it – on stage at the O2 Arena in London on Thursday.

Stradlin teamed up with GNR to perform the songs "14 Years," "You Could Be Mine," "Dead Flowers," "Knockin' On Heaven's Door," "Nightrain," and "Paradise City."

Stradlin’s last appearance with a GNR lineup came in 2006.

Izzy and GNR’s original lineup - Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Steven Adler - along with later additions Matt Sorum and Dizzy Reed, were officially inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame last month as part of the Class Of 2012, which also included the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beastie Boys, The Small Faces/The Faces, Donovan and Laura Nyro.

Stradlin, Axl and Dizzy passed on attending the Cleveland event, but Izzy did release a statement to acknowledge it, just days after Rose made headlines refusing the honor.

"I have waited up to this point to see what would become of the GN'R induction into Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame,” write Stradlin. “I would like to say THANK YOU and GRACIAS to Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame for the acknowledgement of our works over the years as a band. BIG THANKS to all my bandmates who helped get us to where we are today. And, of course, THANK YOU to all of the people on this planet (including, but not limited to, the entire universe and beyond, etc., etc., etc.) who have supported Guns N’ Roses from day one. Adios, Amigos!"

Valerie Bertinelli blamed for Van Halen’s 1985 split with David Lee Roth

Van Halen’s label rep at Warner Music in the band’s early years blames Valerie Bertinelli for the group’s 1985 split with singer David Lee Roth.

In a new interview with LA Weekly, former Warner Music artist development director Ted Cohen says the arrival of Bertinelli on the scene in 1980 began to drive a wedge between the members of the group, Yoko Ono–style.

(Neither Van Halen's nor Bertinelli's management responded to repeated requests by LA Weekly for comment.)

The actress believed Eddie Van Halen should receive the lion's share of the credit for the band's triumphs, whereas Roth was essentially expendable, Cohen says. Cohen believed differently, however: "David was an integral part of the band's success. He was brilliant."

As a result of Bertinelli's interference, Cohen adds, Eddie began distancing himself from the band, staying in his hotel room and not spending as much off time with the others.

Cohen recalls the guitarist pouring his heart out to him at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas, which had recently been purchased by Wayne Newton, shortly after Van Halen and Bertinelli wed in 1981. They spoke from 3 a.m. until dawn, watching workmen in a crane replacing the existing Aladdin sign with a neon one. "We kept hitting the minibar in the room and we got toasted," Cohen remembers, "and I just felt really bad because Eddie was so utterly depressed."

Had he erred in marrying Bertinelli? Cohen asked him. "I've made a terrible mistake," Van Halen affirmed with a glum look. (Why the couple stayed together for decades afterward remains a mystery to the record-company man.)

Meanwhile, after a tumultuous relationship reportedly tarnished by substance abuse and infidelity, Van Halen and Bertinelli divorced in 2005. Cohen was not surprised to see Roth reinstated with the band a year later. "If Valerie had never appeared on the scene," he opines, "David would probably have never been kicked out in the first place."

Aerosmith: Steven Tyler cast in new animated film

Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler is among the voices cast for a new animated film entitled “Epic.”

The flick, by Twentieth Century Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios, is a 3D CG action-adventure comedy that reveals a hidden world unlike any other. From the creators of "Ice Age" and "Rio", "Epic" tells the story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and the forces of evil. When a teenage girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters in order to save their world…and ours.

Beyoncé Knowles voices Queen Tara; Colin Farrell ("Total Recall") is Ronin; Josh Hutcherson ("The Hunger Games") is Nod; Amanda Seyfried ("Dear John") portrays Mary Katherine; and Johnny Knoxville ("Jackass") voices Mandrake.

Aziz Ansari ("Parks and Recreation") portrays Mub; and rapper Pitbull voices Bufo. Jason Sudeikis ("Horrible Bosses") portrays Bomba; and Aerosmith rock legend and American Idol judge Steven Tyler is Nim Galuu.

Co-starring are Blake Anderson ("Workaholics") as Dagda, and Judah Friedlander ("30 Rock") as Larry.

"Epic" hits theaters May 24, 2013.

The film is directed by Academy Award winner Chris Wedge, and produced by Lori Forte ("Ice Age: Continental Drift") and Jerry Davis ("Robots").

Robert Plant: Band Of Joy live DVD due this summer

A live DVD from Robert Plant’s Band Of Joy is on its way.

Billboard reports the Band Of Joy’s live set, filmed at Nashville's War Memorial Auditorium for the TV series "Live From The Artists Den," will be released on DVD and Blu Ray on July 10.

The DVD of "Robert Plant & the Band of Joy: Live from the Artists Den" includes performances of three Led Zeppelin classics - "Black Dog," "Houses of the Holy" and "Tangerine" - that were not part of the initial broadcast on public television stations.

Other songs included that did not make the initial cut are "In the Mood" from his solo disc "Principle of Moments," and the traditional "I Bid You Good Night." The DVD features bonus interview clips as well.

In the liner notes, Plant writes "Some years back I was propelled by chance, with little planning or expectation into an American way…with a lean and pull into a new direction…voices and harmony, restraint and explosion, tight and loose, great joy in great company… in a blizzard in Nashville."

Robert created Band of Joy with guitarist Buddy Miller and singer Patty Griffin after his success with Alison Krauss on "Raising Sand," his 2007 release that led to five Grammy wins.

Plant's "Band of Joy" album, the title is a reference to the group he formed with John Bonham prior to Led Zeppelin, peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 in October 2010. It has sold 232,000 copies, according to Soundscan figures.

And there just wasn’t enough room to put them into ‘No Regrets,’ and I was past the deadline as it was. But I think I’m going to come out with something in the effect of like a ‘No Regrets II.’”

Frehley’s "No Regrets: A Rock 'N' Roll Memoir" debuted at #10 on the New York Times "Hardcover Nonfiction" best sellers list upon its release last fall.

Def Leppard to play rare club gig for YouTube Presents

Def Leppard have announced that they’ll play an exclusive "YouTube Presents" club gig at House of Blues Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, CA on Wednesday, June 6 at 2:30PM (PST),

Fans will be admitted to this FREE show on a first-come, first-served basis.

The show itself will be followed by a Q&A of fan questions.

Both the performance and Q&A will be available on YouTube on Thursday, June 7th at 12pm PST (3PM EST) at youtube.com/presents

June will be busy for Leppard, as the UK rockers celebrate the summer of "Rock of Ages" by releasing newly-recorded versions of "Pour Some Sugar On Me" and "Rock Of Ages" on June 4.

Leppard have also billed their summer tour as Rock Of Ages, after the band’s hit from their 1983 release, “Pyromania,” and the upcoming Broadway play-turned-movie starring Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Russell Brand and Julianne Hough.

The soundtrack to the upcoming film will be released June 5 — ten days before the movie hits theatres. "Rock Of Ages: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" includes Cruise's renditions of Leppard’s "Pour Some Sugar On Me" and Guns N’ Roses’ "Paradise City."

The Rock Of Ages tour, which features Leppard with Poison and Lita Ford, kicks off June 20 in Salt Lake City.
