I have been non-stop busy. With model practices for the Int'l Banquet Fashion show, a midterm later tonight, a project due on friday, and a lot of other things going on. I am trying to stay calm and collected, and let me tell you it is a difficult thing.

But I thought it would be nice to put up some of my favorite quotes from the quotes I have collected over the years! Enjoy! Let me know which ones are your favorite!

" A smile is a curve that can set a lot of thing straight" - Unknown.

"Opportunities multiple as they are seized" - Sun Tzu.

"Courage is the power to let go of the familiar" - Mary Bryant.

"Life offers you a thousand chances... all you have to do is take one" - Under the Tuscan Sun Movie

"Kind words can be short and easy... And according to USA Today:

[When] 877 members of USA Today’s CEO panel took an online personality color test, they were three times more likely to favor magenta than the public at large, three times less likely to select red, and 3½ times less likely to choose yellow.

I thought it was really interesting, so I wanted to try it out myself and see what my results were.

Best Occupational Category

You're a CREATOR
Keywords

Nonconforming, Impulsive, Expressive, Romantic, Intuitive, Sensitive, and Emotional

These original types place a high value on aesthetic qualities and have a great need for self-expression. They enjoy working independently, being creative, using their imagination, and constantly learning something new. Fields of interest are art, drama, music, and writing or places where they can express, assemble, or implement creative ideas.
CREATOR OCCUPATIONS
Suggested careers are Advertising Executive, Architect, Web Designer, Creative Director, Public Relations, Fine or Commercial Artist, Interior Decorator, Lawyer, Librarian, Musician, Reporter, Art Teacher, Broadcaster, Technical Writer, English Teacher, Architect, Photographer, Medical Illustrator, Corporate Trainer, Author, Editor, Landscape Architect, Exhibit Builder, and Package Designer.

CREATOR WORKPLACES
Consider workplaces where you can create and improve beauty and aesthetic qualities. Unstructured, flexible organizations that allow self-expression work best with your free-spirited nature.

Suggested Creator workplaces are advertising, public relations, and interior decorating firms; artistic studios, theaters and concert halls; institutions that teach crafts, universities, music, and dance schools. Other workplaces to consider are art institutes, museums, libraries, and galleries.

2nd Best Occupational Category
              You're a RESEARCHER
           Keywords:

Independent, Self-Motivated, Reserved, Introspective, Analytical, and Curious

These investigative types gather information, analyze and interpret data, and inquire to uncover new facts. They have a strong scientific orientation, enjoy academic or research environments and prefer self-reliant jobs. Dislikes are group projects, selling, and repetitive activities.

And scarily, enough it's pretty accurate. It comes up with two occupational categories, the one you belong to most, and the second best as well. But you can purchase the full thing if you want.

Take the test here! I cannot believe it's already Thursday but it is and sadly spring break is coming to an end. So I have to spend it wisely!

I just read this really interesting article, well I read it a couple of days ago. But it's about 5 powerful habits that will change your life.

1. Wake up Early! - This is my favorite tip out of the five. I started doing this, while on spring break, and I have accomplished so much work. Waking up early is a great way for time management. When you wake up early you can get 2-3 more hours of work done. And because you wake up early you must sleep early too. And this is great for your health too!

2. Eat Healthy, and Exercise. - Though a completely obvious habit. Eating right, and getting your heart racing is really an important part of improving your well-being.

3. Read a book a week - If you want to learn more and succeed more in your field of study or what to learn something new. One should try to read a book a week. And though, it may not be plausible at first, over time you get faster at reading. I personally think this is a great idea, because I haven't really had the time to read, and I am starting to get back into reading.

4. Work one hour a day - Oscar doesn't mean actual work as in your job, but working on your goals. For example, I want to make this blog a lot better, so I will try to start working an hour on my blog each day.

5. Embrace simplicity - "Identify those few things and tasks that provide the highest results and enjoyment in your life, you can work more on them and discard all the remaining stuff." I couldn't have said it any better than he did. I feel that a lot of times people get caught up in life and they really just have to eliminate all the unnecessary crap.

And creating new habits really does take your time. So take your time, and take it one step at a time. Good luck! Let me know how it works for you!

You can find the article here!

Dance Dance Dance

Yet again I have been the negligent blogger. But I swear it is going to change. I'm working on making this blog much better. I've definitely been really busy with my junior year in college. It is getting so hectic and crazy since we only have one more year left before graduation and its a horrifying and exhilarating at the same time.

Anyways back to the main point of this post: ZUMBA! My school offers Zumba on Monday and Friday. And so far I have consistently followed up on my word about exercising more this year.

Zumba, is basically a dance class with Latin flavor. It is so much fun, and the music is very upbeat and always entertaining. By no means can I dance, because I am off by a lot sometimes.. But hey its not the fact of knowing how to dance, its more importantly just doing something that gets your heart racing for healths sake.

Here is a youtube video of what zumba is all about:

Dream Big

"When you know what you want, and you want it badly enough, you'll find a way to get it." - Jim Rohn

I just got back from Richmond, and things are starting to go into motion. School is starting on Monday, and I'm excited to start my semester. I have many goals that I want to accomplish this semester. And to make my dreams more of a solid, and tangible thing to touch. I was inspired by Jim Rohn to make a dream box.

A dream box is basically a box, or jar, or canister, that can hold your dreams. It's so simple to do. You write down your dreams, and goals, and aspirations that you want on pieces of paper and put it in the jar. Your goals and dreams can range from something small like reading a book, or traveling to Japan. But whatever, your aspirations may be write them down.

Here's a look at my dream jar:

It's really simple to make your own dream jar. You take a jar, and cut out pictures that you like or inspire you. I'm using an Herbalife shake canister, and cutouts from a travel magazine. And I just taped them on, so its really quick and easy. Down below is my finished dream jar. I have pictures of Italy, Egypt and Japan because those are the dream places that I want to go to.

And here are some pics of my actual "dreams" that I put into my jar. I get especially stressed when I go back to school. And since I have about a week left before I return. I should probably figure out some ways to deal with stress. I don't necessarily deal with my stress, it's more like I get freaked out and super frustrated and yet I continue to do work. So I basically work myself up, and stress myself out to be perfect. Therefore I'm trying not to do that this year. lol.

To combat this I'm going to start exercising on a weekly basis. And journal on a more consistant basis. These are my main methods of coping with stress. And also trying to procrastinate less. Also getting sufficient sleep helps A LOT! So get sleep, procrastinate less, and exercise and write stressful things down.

And even though, the title of this post is stressed is desserts spelled backwards. I don't necessarily find that, that is the best solution to stress. Although desserts are enjoyable.

Just added my blog to bloglovin!

Follow my blog with bloglovin

Happy New Year

I don't know about you. But I'm really excited for 2010. For some reason, I have a really good feeling about this coming year. I just know its going to be a great and wonderful year.

And as usual, it wouldn't be a new year without any resolutions. So here are a few of mine:

Follow this: 1. Free your heart from hatred - Forgive. 2. Free your mind from worries - Most never happen. 3. Live simply and appreciate what you have. 4. Give more. 5. Expect less. (This is something that I've tried and tried to do, but i feel that it should take more importance in my life more than ever.)

Learning to let go, and being ok with everything, and not being in control all the time. And rolling w/ the punches.

Work harder than I've ever worked. Be above and beyond. But don't kill myself over it.

Don't expect perfection because there is no such thing.

Be the best Herbalife independent distributor, Talk to everyone about it, Grow my business!

A lot of my resolutions this year are about bettering myself and accepting myself for the person I am. My secondary goal is also about Herbalife. I feel Herbalife is the life plan that I have been given. Helping people with these products and helping the world become a healthier place. Even though I'm in my third year of college, Herbalife will be one of my priorities from now on. And this blog will record my journey through college, and Herbalife and all the things in between.

I hope everyone has a great new year!

Interesting Piece of information

"As mentioned in “Entrepreneur” magazine, 50% of Americans make a New Year's resolution [for weight loss]—which explains statistics like a 99% jump in web visits to WeightWatchers.com in January—but 25% of people fail these resolutions after just one week."

Don't be a part of that 25%. I've been super busy with the fall semester. But now it's winter break! So I'm really excited to start blogging for Herbal Tang. Dragon Roll's from Harris Teeter.

I have been an absolute sushi fiend, eating sushi at least once every week or more almost. Sushi is just so delicious, I guess I'm making up for the years that I didn't eat raw sushi.

Because I'm so obsessed with sushi, I decided to do some research to see how healthy sushi is. And even though sushi is a pretty healthy alternative.

"Three or four rolls, like California rolls, or if you have shrimp tempura roll or rainbow roll or anything like that, each roll would be 400 to 500 calories," said Mike Levinson, dietitian.

Of course every sushi house makes rolls according to their own recipe, but it isn't uncommon to get a roll with that many calories as a rule of thumb.

Levinson says people assume eating anything with fish is like a getting a free pass. Wrong. Each roll contains about a half-cup of rice, so if you have three - do the math.

True: fish is low-cal and protein-packed, but with thick sauces found in popular dynamite and rainbow rolls or mayonnaise in spicy tuna rolls, you've got high-cal extras.

For example, cooked crab California rolls and spicy tuna rolls average 350 calories, while soft shell crab spider rolls, and shrimp tempura elevate calories to around 500.

But if you eat sushi with none of the fancy sauces in it, and with a little bit of rice. Sushi really can be a healthy alternative that you can eat once in a while. It's especially important to find a clean and fresh sushi restuarant to avoid mercury poisoning and bacteria.

Ah, this post is seriously making me crave sushi. And I haven't even ate lunch yet.

source

About Me

Coming Soon!

I'm almost packed & ready to go

I'm attempting to pack and get my things sorted out before moving back to school. I have so many things to pack its a bit rediculous. But I can't help but just over pack. This week I had my fill of my favorite and delicious foods, including Baja fresh, Penang(Malaysian food), bubble tea and a lot more. :) Pictures to come after I settle in tomorrow at school.

20 Things you didnt know about ...

FAT!

1 They’re doing something right out West. Sixty-six percent of Americans are overweight or obese, with the national obesity rate doubling between 1976 and 1999. But as of 2007, California was the only state not getting any fatter.

2 The root of the problem? Depending on gender and how active they are, adults should eat 2,000 to 3,000 calories per day. U.S. agriculture now produces 3,900 calories of food per inhabitant per day.

3 People who regularly eat dinner or breakfast in restaurants double their risk of becoming obese.
4 Being overweight reduces a woman’s chances of getting pregnant.
5 The National Institutes of Health believes obesity is one of the reasons why the fastest-growing group of women experiencing infertility are those under 25.

6 We’re trying. Each year nearly $50 billion is spent on diet programs.

7 People who lose just 10 percent of their weight report significant improvement in their sex lives.

8 Biology is trying to help too. Leptin is a hunger-slaking hormone pumped into the bloodstream by fat cells. The more fat you have, the more leptin you make and the less hungry you feel.

9 Want to get your hands on some leptin? The hormone never panned out as a diet aid because most overweight people have become insensitive to it.

10 Over the course of a year, about 10 percent of an adult’s fat cells die. Alas, the body promptly replaces them.

11 The total number of fat cells in your body remains constant once you reach adulthood. Even after radical weight-loss procedures such as stomach stapling, fat cells return to their presurgery numbers within two years.

12 Try the vacuum instead. Liposuction is the only way to actually reduce the number of fat cells in your spare tire. Diet and exercise just shrink them.

13 New Zealander Pete Bethune gave a whole new meaning to biofuel when he used his liposuctioned fat to power the world’s fastest eco-boat. A way to solve the obesity epidemic and the fuel crisis?

14 It may make you prettier, but not healthier. Liposuction doesn’t remove fat from around the internal organs, so your fat-related health risks are unchanged.

15 Blame Mom and Dad. Obesity is more heritable than schizophrenia, high blood pressure, and alcoholism.

16 Cutting saturated fat intake to the recommended 10 percent of your calories will prolong your life, but only by a few months at most, researchers found.

17 The brain is about 70 percent fat.

18 Bottlenose dolphins use fatty tissue in the head, concentrated in an organ called the melon, to focus sound waves, giving them their sonar ability.

19 Think you have a spare tire? Whales are wrapped in fat—a thick layer of blubber—as vital insulation against the cold. Some whales have a blubber layer up to 20 inches thick.

20 Camels have the opposite problem: Living in hot climates, they want as little heat-trapping insulation as possible, so they concentrate their fat in their humps.
source

Drooolll

I've been craving chocolate mousse/ I didn't really crave it until I found a recipe for chocolate mousse. But its because I wasn't sure what to do with my blogs. And now I only have two blogs. I used to have four. I am currently going to move this blog to a wordpress because I just feel like it will be better suited over there. I'm actually going to hopefully complete that today, I have my friend who is good at css and layouts and things. So hopefully this blog will be exported over to wordpress.

Thanks,
Kelly

Million Pound Weight Loss Challenge

The total weight loss is now: 34, 247 pounds!! Even though its mostly April showers, and a lot of crazy weather changing, its really really nice! I have been really great. I went on a walk yesterday on a trail since the weather was so lovely. And today i played volleyball. And tomorrow I'm going to play some other sort of sport or exercise, but I don't know what yet.

School has been.. going slowly.. but I am closely finishing up my second year of college! Working on a religion paper: about theravada and mahyana buddhism and their views on the ecological issues of today's society. Its really interesting, I think more than ever, I do not have a religion but more of a spirituality of sorts. Easter break is also coming up, but that won't be a break, more of a time to catch up and finish projects due right after easter brk.

Anyways its getting late, I'm gunna read some, and then sleep.

~Kelly

I am currently weighing 126.5 pounds. So I really would like to get more things into the fashion show. wish me luck! <3

Good Morning!

haha I thought this was funny. But i'm catching up on my fashion blogs and i really like these printed shirts, and dresses from Tucker by Gaby Basora.

I really like these prints, especially since all of them have a story behind them in why Gaby chose them. :D

PS .. my friend is going to help me makeover my blog. So it will be uber cute, she will probably do it during easter break or something.. b/c she doesn't really have time right now. but keep a look out.

Day 6

so it's day 6 of my herbalife shake diet. I enjoyed it because I felt a lot better physically. I had more energy and I could function pretty well through the day. Unfortunately, i'm on campus right now, and I don't have a scale so i'm not sure how much weight i've lost. I'll try to borrow my friends tonight or something. Lately I haven't been doing much. I drank so much water i had like 20 water bottles sprawled out on my table. But I needed my work space so I didn't take a picture of them.
Today I'll be working on the bulletin board for Global Charity Project, and sewing my jacket. Pictures to come.

Day 1

My goal is to go from 130 to 115 pounds! I decided it's a huge challenge to lose weight in college. So this is for me to see and be the experiment on how I can help college students lose weight from using Herbalife products!

Today I drank a shake for breakfast as well as dinner. That picture is a bad pic of me but whatever. That's my awesome single serve blender with my cafe latte shake in it! hahaha. Its really yummy! I just finished drinking one for dinner. Ok so im gunna do a bit of predicting. I think one of the most difficult parts about this diet at college thing. Is the sheer fact that the taste and "goodness" of the foods change so much.. that I won't eat enough for lunch. And that is a problem because my plan is to have two meal-replacement shakes for a meal and a good balanced lunch! I think it will be great because I am also dieting w/ my friend Linh! She is also using Herbalife products.

Hopefully, this week will be calm and such. I'm really hoping that I finish and get an A on one of my big fashion industry projects! I have been working my butt off for it and I just hope my hardwork pays off. And I have an exam on Friday. And garment review for the fashion show is next week so I need to finish up knitting my skirt and pants, to enter and hopefully they will be accepted into the show.

Anyways, thats all folks!

~Kelly

P.S. I have a twitter so follow me!
