I did a little bit of research just before this show – it’s on this little napkin here. I looked up the definition of sedition which is conduct or language inciting rebellion against the authority of the state. And a lot of these statements, especially the ones coming from people like Glenn Beck and to a certain extent Sarah Palin, rub right up close to being seditious.read more

The rise in power of the left absolutely requires you to feel ashamed of your views.

The whole foundation of victim politics is getting well meaning, honest and reasonable people to shoulder the burden of others. It demands that you accept their equivalencies and premises. Examples…

• Don’t agree with quotas and special treatment? You must be a racist.
• Don’t think that 12 year olds should be able to get an abortion without informing their parents? You’re an anti-choice woman hater.
• Don’t like the idea of someone burning the U.S. flag? You’re a tyrant who hates free speech.
• Speak out against higher taxes? You’re a dangerous hate filled extremist who the FBI should watch.
• Want to keep the money you worked to earn? You’re a greedy asshole who wants the poor to die in the streets.
• Don’t believe illegal immigrants should have the right to vote? Yup, racist again!

The entire narrative of the left is designed to convince you that you are stupid, hated filled and uncaring. They need you to feel undeserving and willing to be sacrificed to the needs of others. Most of all it is designed to make you feel isolated. The last thing the want is for you to feel pride. For you to reject their narrative. For you to believe in yourself and your values.

Thanks to the internet the left is rapidly losing control of the narrative. As the plummeting ratings of CNN, MSNBC and other stations attest the general public is no longer just sucking up the bias. The more they try and ratchet up the bluster the dumber the look – and the less influence they have.

After spending months now tryign to paint the Tea Party as a movement of ignorant racists the left has finally decided that it is time to manufacture the news they want to see. A full scale series of infiltration attempts has been kicked off – with hilarious results.

For instance, we can point and chuckle at the idiocy of Jason Levin (that’s him holding the t-shirt). That is the super genius behind the website “Crash the Tea Party”. Our boy Jason is a middle school teacher – and he is even now on suspension because he created and posted this idiocy on school time and equipment. Frankly, they should just flat out suspend or fire him for being a moron. Last I checked “incite violence” wasn’t a subject we wanted taught in school*.

On it’s own this is just sort of sad and pathetic. I mean, moonbats have spent a lot of time and energy trying to drum up support so it is no shock that they would snap when faced with a real grass roots movement. Every party has their crazies right? Right.

Things get really interesting when folks who have official ties to the democratic party or its various associated groups. For instance, John Durajczyk who is the Secretary of the St. Charles County Democratic Committee and spent time being a violent infiltrator of a Tea Party rally. Just to be sociable, John brought with him a good friend named Steve Belosi who proceeded to amusing himself by attaching an elderly woman at the rally. To be fair, its the only real trick Steve has since it isn’t the first time Steve Belosi has been seen at political events attacking women. Among Steve’s other awesome traits are close ties to Code Pink, the ACLU and being a 9/11 truther nutjob.

So to recap…

• The Democratic party and their far left supporters are completely panicked.
• They have utterly failed to portray the Tea Party as racists.
• They look utterly stupid in the process.

1. Any comment I don’t think contributes to the discussion gets tossed when and if I notice it or if it comes up in moderation.
2. The process for deciding if a comment meets with the criteria in #1 is something called “judgment”. In short, there are no hard and fast rules you can try and skirt, no funny semantic games you can play etc.
3. Any comment may be used as the subject of commentary, ridicule or the bestowing of praise.
4. You will notice that your opinion of what is and isn’t fair is not part of #1.
5. This blog will fluctuate between requiring moderation on all new comments or not as I see fit, thus not every comment that appears will have necessarily been moderated by me yet.
6. Whining about “libel” and “slander” is pointless. Get a lawyer or stay quiet.
7. You have NO first amendment right on this domain. It is private, not public, space.

I really do enjoy thoughtful debate, even if it is heated. You certainly don’t need to agree with me to comment here. That said, blogs are free – if you don’t feel like you are getting to speak here then go publish it someplace else.

Susannah did not deny that there are folks with trauma out there and a courtesy warning might be useful. Hell, I have the empathy of a paving stone and even >I< will go out of my way to warn those I care about when I think a scene in a movie might have a negative effect on them. I get the principle, and I think so does Susannah.

Where I agree with her (at least as I read it) is that these trigger warnings in this context are not only mis/over used but  often used dishonestly. The authors who use term rarely intend to protect their delicate readership but rather to titillate them.

Predictably, this sent the whole radical feminist blog-o-sphere into a hyperventilating wankfest that no doubt made their day. Honestly there must be nothing more satisfying for them than to be able to yammer amongst themselves about how misunderstood and hated they are. Oh, and spend time comparing therapy bills to find out who is the most damaged**.

My purpose in this post isn’t just to point and laugh at the moonbats, though that is reason enough. I’m not even planning on a long discussion of trigger warnings themselves. My purpose is more about the timeline – watch this story grow. The comments and crosslink’s in the references below will show you how the victim culture feeds itself on it’s own bile. I particularly like how pointing out the misuse of trigger warnings become spun as “mocking rape victims”. Classic Alinsky stuff.

Back to Susannah’s post. I’ll just to quote her here so you too can see how evil she is…

Done? Cool. Amazing how much passion those chicks bring to hating another female. They have a particular zest for it – like any angry mob they are only really happy when they are tearing apart someone who could be one of their own.

In all their anger they couldn’t have provided better proof for Susannah’s summation, so I will let it stand on its own here.

CNN’s only problem is – no one cares about them any more.

You must understand that when leftists get all teary eyed about freedom of the press and the unfettered flow of information they didn’t actually mean it. The last thing they want is the inability to shape the message. The lefts agenda absolutely depends on the ability to define the arguments and tell the rest of us what it is OK to say and think. Let to ourselves, humans have a tendency to run away from socialist crap like the poison it is.

The only response they have to this night mare is to spin harder… to try to shape the message even more our of line with reality. In short, more of the same. All the while they shake their heads and wail to Gaia about how we just don’t seem to care what names they call us anymore.

All of this adds up to some absolutely epic failures of propaganda. Hell, if the staff at Pravda had been this bad at what they did there would have been double shifts at the firing squad barracks just to keep up.

For instance, this is what CNN considers “hundreds… at least dozens” of people. The event is a Tea Party rally in Searchlight Nevada to demonstrate against Harry Reid and the Obama administration – you can see much more over at Left Coast Rebel. These photos are from American Border Patrol, you should go there for more as well.

Now, to be fair, CNN has been having a lot of trouble with numbers lately. Larry King is down 43% for the quarter and the rest of the network isn’t doing any better. Don’t expect CNN to recover any time soon either, since they can continue to spout this kind of silliness.

Meanwhile, Fox is doing very, very well with many of it’s shows gaining huge numbers of viewers. Expect CNN and others to start whining for government intervention any day now.

• You are weak and incapable, you must look to us for the things you desire
• You are stupid and powerless, you must look to us for answers
• You are evil and easily led astray, you must look to us to save you from yourselves
• You are weak and vulnerable, you must look to us for protection

The power base they have built over the years has that mantra as it’s foundation. It is a powerful message because it offers it’s adherents not only the promise of getting the things they desire without having to work for or deserve them but provides a moral justification so that they can quell any conscience that might trouble them.

When in trouble then, they will reach for those same points over and over again. Anyone who opposed them must be a racist, a “greedy capitalist” or a hate filled potential oppressor. The success of these accusations depended on a few elements.

1. That those who were accused would be embarrassed and abashed, thus going on the defensive
2. That those who were accused could be prevented from communicating a response even if they wished to

In this internet, highly connected age #2 is getting harder and harder to pull off. That hasn’t kept the dinosaur media from trying though. CNN, MSNBC, the Associated Press and most of the newspapers have been carrying so much water for Obama and friends of late they make Pravda seem like it was an independent news source.

So, now that people can communicate directly with each other things are getting interesting. Since the members of the victim culture are essentially passive and depend on others to create the forums that they then use to grouse on, high tech communication gives an edge to people who are self starters and who believe that they can influence things.

In short, the sheep don’t do well on the Internet. As with all free frontiers it favors the industrious and talented.

For a while though the status quo held on. Because of his skin color Obama extended this a bit – anyone who didn’t agree with him can and was labeled a racist and the lingering stigma of that attack shut down dissent just enough to put him into the White House. That this was the last real gasp of the enforced silence by way of accusation wasn’t clear to anyone at the time… but we see it now.

It must be amazing to Obama, Reid and Pelosi that they have had to fight so hard to pass their agenda. It should have been a cake-walk. Attack the big corporations as being greedy, attack the Republicans as heartless pigs who want babies to die and then toss the term “racist” around anywhere you couldn’t find a better excuse. History had told them that this combination would shut down dissent and allow them to have their sweetheart deals without a whimper of protest. Not only did they have to fight, but the opposition solidified into the seed of the first real third party the USA will have ever had – the Tea Party.

The old tricks aren’t working any more – but they are trying all of them. Most recently they are dragging out the faux horror and outrage of the scared victim. Things have become to mean they say. Some of them have even begun questioning whether the first amendment covers saying bad things about our Dear Leader and his cohorts. With one hand on their foreheads they manage to ask us to consider that all this anger is dangerous right before they faint into a self-righteous heap.

The problem is… we have the internet. We remember the things that CNN is making sure they don’t ever bring up.

 

We remember this going on for years without a peep from the DNC. Without all the weeping and gnashing of teeth that is happening now. We remember the media dismissing these things, when they bothered to mention it at all, as free speech in action.

So when they get all teary eyed and try and convince us that Sarah Palin is inciting violence by using a common phrase like…

“It’s not a time to retreat, it’s a time to reload.” – Sarah Palin

It makes you wonder how far their head is up their own ass. Even when Sarah goes back and spells it out for them, they persist in sticking to their talking points. Here are her expanded remarks on this issue…

“SARAH PALIN: When I talk about it’s not a time to retreat, it’s a time to reload, what I’m talking about — now, media, try to get this right, okay? That’s not inciting violence. What that’s doing is trying to inspire people to get involved in their local elections and these upcoming federal elections. It’s telling people that their arms are their votes. It’s not inciting violence. It’s telling people, don’t ever let anybody tell you to sit down and shut up, Americans” – source

And now let’s hear from a member of CNN’s panel as he tells us to, in essence, sit down and shut up.

“LEMON: Mark, listen, freedom of speech. I always say that people have a right to say whatever they want. I will fight tooth and nail for that, but is it responsible for someone to say that? Especially a leader, considering the anger that’s going on right now?” – source

It must seem like such a perfect plan. Pass the least popular bit of legislation in decades against the will of the electorate. Use the slimiest tricks available to pass it in order to minimize debate and then work hard to shut down all the voices who are justifiably upset with what you have done by pretending that this dissent is dangerous.

The thing is, in order for all this to work out you need to somehow imply that the national parties are responsible for every action that occurs, even on the fringe, and then condemn them all with every infraction. That could backfire badly unless you can control the message. For instance you certainly won’t see this little gem on CNN while they choke up about how mean Republicans are.

   

That would spoil the narrative. Neither will you hear a peep out of the AP about the recent attacks on Tea Party members in Nevada where Harry Reid supporters threw eggs at vehicles and individuals, including the totally awesome Andrew Breitbart. Hell, according to the AP that sort of thing apparently counts as a warm welcome. Of course had a single egg found it’s way FROM a Tea Party person the screaming would have been deafening. And maybe therein you have the heart of the difference…

A whole lot of the current crop of Dem supporters are whining pussies who have no shame.

They are completely willing to pretend that a thrown egg was a life threatening attack and collect spend the next few years needing PTSD treatment. In general Republicans have a little something we call “pride” and as such don’t really have the ability to fall onto the floor calling for our mommies when things get a little rough.

In case you have gotten this far and wonder what it takes for CNN to begrudgingly admit that there is some violence out there that isn’t spawned in the Tea Party, the answer is an actual arrest for making death threats.

“A 33-year-old Pennsylvania man has been arrested for threatening to kill Rep. Eric Cantor of Virginia, the number two Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives, the Justice Department announced Monday” – CNN

Don’t expect CNN to convene another panel to spend a show segment masturbating about how horrible this makes the Democratic Party look. That would be too much like reporting.

You can almost hear the screams of horror, the OMFG, the hands slapping to foreheads as heart palpitations bring the oh so delicate feminist sensibilities to the point of collapse. Indeed, the apocalypse is upon us. I don’t know anyway to soften the blow except to come right out and tell you…

You see, an 11 year old boy got a look at a attractive girl in a tight t-shirt.

By my calculations, we now have exactly 13.76 minutes till the end of the world. Oh, wait, this is totally a non-issue and only a source of problem for folks who are so divorced from reality as to be borderline dysfunctional.

It won’t surprise you then that the good wimmin’ at Genderberg are in fact exactly this dysfunctional.

Of course, many of the Genderberg folks are your run of the mill Radical Feminists. They flat out deny any biological basis for sexuality and discount that an 11 year old boy might have already thought about what females look like in tight shorts and a crop top. I know, I know, it’s shocking.

Yup, this kid is doomed to grow up as a serial rapist. Might as well put him down now.

As for the poor victimized waitress at the Hooters itself? She was eventually rescued from her life of abuse. It turns out all Hooters waitresses are kept in a holding cell at the home office and sent to the franchises fresh weekly in refrigerated trucks. When they get to the restaurants they are worked and beaten 24 hours a day till they die and get processed into the hamburgers. True story.

Or um… not.

It seems the whole thing became ever so slightly famous and Catherine (she has a name) decided to author a post for the blog in question. In it she spoke well of her work at the chain. This is never going to fly with the radical feminists of course who will decide that she is simply weak minded and has internalized her oppression or some similar bullshit. They never seem to run out of ways to decide that women are too weak minded to make their own decisions.

However, as the fight for the very survival of Capitalism in the United States of America grows in intensity under the constant hammering of a president who is comfortable with the rhetoric of socialism, it is clear that “live and let live” is not a great option any more.

I will admit to a certain amazement as I observe many of those who lean left  contort themselves to hold onto their bias.

• They can rail against the problems of government intrusion via the Patriot act yet openly call for FBI monitoring of the Tea Party.
• They see no contradiction in the belief that hanging George W. Bush in effigy was valid political speech but Sarah Pailin using the term “targeting” is an incitement to violence that needs to be shut down.
• They will go on and on about how the police have too much power in a drug investigation but never bat an eye as the rights of those accused of rape were systematically destroyed.
• Without any hint of the conflict these folks will openly advocate for quotas and racial preferences while screaming about how problematic profiling is.
• While living in one of the most permissive societies on the planet they will rail against how persecuted they are while singing the praises of Muslim cultures that would see them beaten and stoned to death for opening their mouths.

The odds are you know these same types of folks. Well meaning I am sure, but utterly misguided. This used to be cute, even amusing. We can’t afford to just let it slide any more, plotting our low friction trajectories by not speaking up or causing a “scene”. We need to (politely, rationally, non-violently) challenge the ideas that our leading an entire nation astray.

In less time than we might have thought possible a perfect storm of political circumstances has allowed Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to open the government doors wide and allow every union thug, socialist sympathizer and hater of capitalism they could find into positions of power. The joke that we might someday need to “Go Galt” has gone from obvious exaggeration to distinct possibility.

We are now living in what might as well be an Ayn Rand novel – we can either recognize this fact and act accordingly or face subservience and persecution. Shackled indefinitely as the plow horses of those who feel we owe them our effort, our intellect and anything we produce.

In the coming battle for our survival as a free nation we need to fight with conviction but also our good humor, good will and the clear understanding that while we lack the siren call of victimization we possess all the real skills.

They need us to create what they cannot – ultimately it is we who hold the power.

On the bright side, in recent I have been spending a fair amount of time in discussions with folks I don’t normally discuss politics with in discussion and debate. Friends and acquaintances mostly, some of them are not usually political, others are but we have stayed away from those topics between us. These people who have in the past quietly drifted along are suddenly deeply engaged. While many of them have emerged as hard left leaners there is a huge undercurrent of folks who are just now seeing the full expanse of what the American left has in store for our future. In their confidence that the end game is near Obama and the Democratic party may have overplayed their hand. Suddenly citizens who may have thought this stuff was academic are realizing how completely this administration holds them in contempt and how much power they have let slip away in their silence.

I will be adding content to Herdwatching with some regularity again. Not because this blog has suddenly gained national prominence but because it is now useful to provide these views to the folks I know in my social graph. This is a good time for us to stand and be counted.

Expect commentary on Obama and the current administration but also continued discussions of all aspects of the fringe that is around us… because if the internet isn’t a good place to make fun of the stupid and insane, then what good is it?

The Herdwatcher

In a very real way, Ronald Reagan saved the world.

I know, I know, the left and even many on the right won’t like that reality. This is an age where courage is not a virtue but cowardice is. The only leaders with any courage these days seem to be the insane ones. Those charged with the protection of freedom cloak cowardice and appeasement in the mien of “compromise” and “discussion”. Discussion and negotiation are fine tools that well meaning men can use to co-exist… but it has no place in the dealings between men and animals.

The Berlin wall was not torn down by Reagan, or indeed by any single man. The wall came down for the same reasons the jail keepers of the Soviet Union finally were forced to face their failure – because many, many regular people finally said “we will not be your slaves any more”.  This defiance was the only possible because those people were given a stark choice, and they knew that someone somewhere had their backs. That someone was Reagan, and that choice was simple – freedom and progress or slavery and stagnation.

There are many who will downplay the contribution that Reagan made to the destruction of the Soviets. They will tell you he was just one man, and that no one man matters that much. They are lying to you.

The Soviet Union foundered on the million rocks of their citizens, but the keel was snapped on the rock hard will of an actor turned president who had the balls to look all their might dead in the face and flat out declare that he would not be moved or ignored.

As time has gone on we see that the parallels are deepening. When called to account he reacted in a way that is amazingly similar to the way Obama’s advisers and sycophants’ react…

• Deny Everything
• Counter-Attack and hope it goes away
• Enlist the media to spread a defense, any defense

When that doesn’t work, and you are absolutely positively caught go to phase two…

• Fabricate and destroy evidence as necessary so that you can…
• Claim it was a mistake
• Quickly state that the mistake doesn’t change the core issues

We can simplify…

• Deny
• Lie
• ???
• Profit

So there we have it – the perfect Obama supporter creating the perfect symbol of this administration. It was at best a bad copy of the actions of socialist dictators, and even then it was a cheap fake. All that backed up with a willingness to lie, cheat and destroy facts as needed to keep right on going.

Welcome to the Obama administration – finally allowing the American Presidency to take it’s place as a first class propaganda mill.
