Traffic Jam in Neighborhood

Trafict jam is no longer the monopoly of main road in Jakarta. It could happen in neighborhood road such as in Sumur Batu.

The trafict jam itself is due to many combinations. They could be the undiscipline riders and drivers, too many vehicles, and the condition of the road itself.

So, will Jakarta free from traffict jam? Nobody knows.

Fruit and Vegetable Seller in Jakarta

Mobile fruit and vegatable seller is common view in Jakarta's neighborhood.

The seller go around the neighborhood with his/her chart full of fruits and vegetables.

Mostly they will start selling their fruits and vegetable around six. Their customers are the house wives. However sometimes not only house wives buy but also the men.

Heavy Rain on Jan 10, 2013

On January 10 the weather was very extreme. In early in morning, it was rain. The rain was started from early in the morning. Around 8 am - 3 pm it was very hot. The sun shines was also very strong burning the skin, but it became very dark after 3 pm. At 3.30 pm rain fell. It was windy rain. The wind also blew strongly. There were many trees fell down because of it. Some hit the vehicles.

Fortunately, the rain fell was not long. It was only about 40 minutes. I couldn't imagine if the rain fell long hours.

National Monument or it is famous with Monas. The project was started in August 17, 1961 and was opened for public on July 12, 1975.

It was set up to memorize the fighting against the Dutch the colonialist.

Martabak

Martabak is a very famous food in Indonesia. It is made of powder which is specially processed, some eggs, some meats, seasoning, and some vegetables. The price of a martabak depends on how many eggs are used
for example a martabak with 4 eggs, the price is Rp. 30.000,00. The more eggs are used, the higher is the price.

The taste is tasty and sometimes spicy. Usually it is sold in the afternoon and evening.

My Way Home From Pondok Bahar

On Jan 1, 2013 I went to Pondok Bahar. When I was there rain fell so heavy. I saw the road infront of the house was covered by water. Luckily, my parents' house is high, so we didn't have to worry about flood.

New Year 2013 in Cempaka Baru, Jakarta

New Year in Cempaka Baru, Kemayoran, Jakarta.

This new year celebration in Cempaka Baru was "accompanied" by rain. Many people preferred to go to Monas to celebrate new year in "Car Free Night" area. If they didn't go out side they preferred to stay at home. Some celebrated with the neighbors.

Tebet Park

Last Wednesday my family and I went to Tebet Park. It is located in Tebet Timur Street. The park is very nice place to have fresh air. When I was there, there were some children were playing soccer and slide. There were also some people working with their laptop and some were just chitchatting with their friends.

The park was just renovated by a company by using its CSR's fund. It was set up ten years ago, but it didn't have enough attention from the local government so it was not that popular. Right now, during the new local government and the attention of a company, it becomes a famous place for having jogging and phisycal exercises.

Taman Anggrek

WHEN I was not purposely passed through Taman Anggrek, I saw a beautiful view of it. I stopped for a while, watched for a while, and then I captured some pictures.

It didn't mean that I didn't understand that it was because of technology. Whatever it was, I only knew that it was beautiful view, so I must capture it.

This is the view from the fourth floor of parking area of Cempaka Mas Mal.
The landscape is good so it looks neat and there is also green area around the neighborhood.

Husada Hospital

The hospital is very old. It has more than 100 years old and was famous with the name "Yang Sheng-I".
This hospital was older than Indonesia himself because this hospital was set up in the Dutch Collonialization era.
It is one of a remarkable hospital in Jakarta.

In Indonesia there is a special term, namely "Kerja Bakti". It is a term an which people around the neighborhood working together to clean up the environment around neighborhood.
Usually they do this activity regularly. The objective is clear to clean up the environment around neighborhood. However at the same time there is another advantage of this activity namely "developing communication" with the neighborhood.

This is the main road of Solo city, Slamet Riyadi.

It is a nice street and also a big street. On Sunday sometimes it is closed for car-free day.

When I passed through the street it was 7 o'clock so there were not many people passing it.

When I was from Sukarno Hatta airport few days ago, I saw a beautiful view when I passed Ancol.

An empty tol road and the sun behind the morning cloud and some towers in my left side. It was beautiful.
