Re-attach Google Chrome Tab

I have been using Google Chrome since it was made available for downloads a few months ago. Even though it freezes on few occasions when browsing some flash websites, I am satisfied with its performance.

Tabbed window in Google Chrome, the feature that also is quite popular in many popular browsers, removes the clutter from your desktop. But sometimes it annoys me when I would accidentally drag one tab and detach it into a separate window.

Here's how to re-attach the orphaned tab window into it parent window:

Click the tab title (without releasing the mouse button), drag it to the desired tab position in your Google Chrome parent window, then release the mouse button.

VoIP are becoming much popular nowadays because it allows free international phone calls from all over the world to the list of countries you can find in this list. There are two ways to do this, the first one is to a software that you can download from the internet for free (e.g., Google Gtalk), and secondly, using your browser. This technology has been made possible by the publicly open voice gateway Gtalk2VoIP which also enables voice calls between Google Talk, MSN/Live Messenger, and Yahoo!.

What are the requirements to be able to make international phone calls for free, if you may ask?

Good Internet connection
PC or Laptop
Headset (with mic of course).

If you meet the above requirements then you are good to go.

How to setup your PC/Laptop for free international call:

Download and install Google Talk from this location. If you still have no Google account, I suggest you make one first.
I am assuming that your headset is properly configured with your PC. Now, you can add the phone number of your relatives/friends in the same manner as adding contacts in Gtalk, but make sure to append @talkster.gtalk2voip.com at the end of the phone number having the following format:

[country code] - [area code] - [phone number]

You add the number in you Gtalk similar to the examples below:

UK: 442077234561@talkster.gtalk2voip.com
US: 12125451211@talkster.gtalk2voip.com

Wait for a few seconds until you get a confirmation and instructions. You will be assigned a local phone number in which your relatives/friends can use to contact you.
Remember that you cannot make out-going calls for more than 10seconds. Your friend must call the local number assigned to you (that is linked to your gtalk account), to be able to talk with your friend for free using Gtalk.

There are many websites and forums you can search in the Internet that allows you to view the live streams of the DREAM MATCH. However, for you to gain access, they might ask you to register. Other options include installing streaming software which allows you to view TV channels in your PC. Some of the ones I used are TVUPlayer, Sopcast and TVAnts. There are many more actually! Just be resourceful when you google them.

How to Remove Micro AV

My friend's laptop was infected by this rogue anti-spyware program that spreads itself via untrusted websites, flash drives with hidden "autorun.inf" in them that you inserted into your USB ports, downloaded files that masqueraded as video files and many others. There are numerous ways you can be infected with it.

Micro AV displays fake security warnings telling that your system is compromised and claiming that only Micro AV can remove it. No matter what options you click, the problems never go away. I used the steps below to successfully remove the Micro AV in a Windows XP machine:

Create a rescue disk using Kaspersky Antivirus/Kaspersky Internet Security. If you don't have one, you can try any methods that would allow you to scan and clean viruses, worms, trojans, malwares, and spywares from your PC. But I recommend you download the 30-day trial version from their website. This is a detailed instruction for creating the Kaspersky Rescue disk.
I assumed you've burned the rescue disk ISO image to a CD-R in step 1, boot your computer using this rescue disk. You should be able to perform a system scan and quarantine or delete the infected files found by Kaspersky.
At this point, you can now boot your computer normally. But hey, Micro AV dialog box should pop out again! Don't click anything yet, go to task Manager (by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del, end clicking the Task manager button). Click the processes tab, and END the task/processes for the following files you found: Micro AV.EXE, MicroAntivirus.exe.
Click START -> RUN, and type MSCONFIG, select STARTUP tab and uncheck all instances of Micro AV or MicroAntivirus you will find. Also, uncheck startup files that begins with YUV (e.g., YUV41, YUV32, etc).
Do step 4 for all user accounts in your windows XP machines.
Install and update your preferred Internet Security solution. Simply installing antivirus software nowadays is not enough.

This time, the procedure I just mentioned does not come with screenshots, sorry! Let me know if you're still having problem, I might be able to help.

It's been a while since I made a post about viewing private photos. Well, head over to the visioneers forum and register first then download the friendster photo viewer software for friendster. See the screen shot below:

What it can do:

Display all photo albums in your friend's restricted account
Browse photos in each album

This is very nice tool for viewing photos of your friends. Easy to use and fast! ;)

Yahoo Messenger Error - Not enough storage is available to complete this operation

"Not enough storage is available to complete this operation", it is an error in Yahoo Messenger that keeps popping up every time you attempt to send a YM message. You already uninstalled and reinstall for a number of times but to no avail. You already did the suggestion in this Yahoo Answer but to no avail. Then you also tried the solution offered in this forum but unsuccessful. And now it's time you try mine!

The error you see is similar to the screen shot you see below using the latest verson of Yahoo Messenger (including version 9.0.0.1389 Beta).

You must have the administrator account in order to solve the problem. If you don't have one, you must create an account with administrator or admin privilege. For the purpose of demonstration, we will call the administrator account username as "ADMIN" and "USER" is the account that is having problem with yahoo messenger.

Login to ADMIN.
Navigate to "C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\", you should see the image:
Rename the folder "USER" to something like "USER.BAK".
Logoff from the current user "ADMIN", then login using "USER". This time, you should see a profile for "USER" is being created again.
After your successful login, try your Yahoo Messenger to see if the problem persists. I'm sure it will.
Now is the time to restore your files. All you need is to copy the folders inside the old user profile, "USER.BAK" to the newly created profile "USER".
If you are using "Outlook Express" for email, you may also want to restore your emails. Do the following:
- Navigate to "C:\Documents and Settings\USER.BAK\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\", there are at least one folder there. Copy them to "C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\".
- Finally, configure your email account by specifying your POP3 and SMTP server.
Last but not the least, please let me know if you were able to solve the problem using this guide, provide me feedback if possible so that I can improve it further.

How to access friendster photos restricted to friends only?

There are times when you visit your friendly friend's friendster photos, you found out the account is restricted to friends. Here's the guide how you can possibly gain access to some photos of your friendly friend's friendster photos. Let me remind you that you can view up to a maximum of four pictures only.

Here's the step-by-step procedure:

Go to the your friend's friendster profile, you should see the image below, confirming that profile viewing is limited to his/her friends only.
Get the pageOwnerID, this is a series of number found at the end of the URL. For example, in http://profiles.friendster.com/12345678, the pageOwnerID is 12345678.
Type the following URL in the address bar of your browser (regardless if it's Chrome, Firefox or IE). Make the correct pageOwnerID is reflected at the end. http://www.friendster.com/photos/57928093
At this point, you should see album or albums in your friendly friend's friendster photo, like this:
Click the link "Share Album" (similar to the picture above), then specify the email address where you want to receive the photos.
After you receive the email from friendster, you can copy the link of the shared photos and open to your favorite browser. If you are using yahoo, all you need is to simply right-click on the image and select "Copy Image Location".
The link to the picture is already in your clipboard. All you need to do is to paste it ( CTRL+V, using keyboard combination or right-click then paste, using the mouse) into your address bar.
You should now reap the fruit of you labor. ;) If you want to enlarge the picture, simply remove the character "m" or "l" at the url and refresh your browser.

That's all folks! You should be responsible for whatever damage this how-to guide may incur you, for example, accidentally format your hard drive... ;) Just kidding!

How to use Windows xp uploader wizard to upload bulk photos in friendster?

Have you ever experienced trying to upload huge number of photos in your friendster account? Here's how:

Download xppubwiz.reg from http://www.friendster.com/bulkphotoupload.php?step=reg.
Double-click the downloaded file. Press RUN button when a message box appears.
When you see the message box as shown below, just click Yes button.
You are now ready to upload pictures at this time. Go to the folder where you store you pictures. It doesn't matter how many. Select the pictures you want to upload to your friendster account then click the Publish the selected items to the web as shown below:
Follow the instructions when a Web publishin Wizard appears until you see the following in your screen. You should select the Friendster Bulk Upload Beta and click Continue button.
You will be asked to provide your friendster login information as shown, Click Next button:
You will be asked where to store your photos, select between Existing Album or New Album and click Next button.
Finally, you should specify if the pictures will be resized or not, then click Next button. This stage is very important if you are uploading high resolution images.
The wizard will begin uploading your files. Click Finish button when done and a new browser window will open.

Private Photo Viewer: Can somebody really view one's private photos?

I built a demo software that could possibly do this, not sure though if it will work for others.

There are two issues concerning this software:

Generation of random number is very slow. Because the current implementation stores the record in a dataset, it requires a lot of memory.
Doesn't use multi-threading and therefore, it cannot be used exhaustively, to brute-force and try all the combinations of a 9-digit random numbers (387,420,489).

The screenshot below shows the user interface of the software. Buttons and textboxes are self-explanatory. First, one must have prior information about the url of the photos you are interested in. It doesn't matter whether it is visible to the public, for friends only, or private photos. Then, 9-digit random numbers are generated whose count can be defined beforehand. What happens here is that when a button GO is pressed, the software will check the URL if it exists or not. If the photo does not exists, the record is deleted from the datagridview and try the next one until all the generated entries are completed.

The screenshot below shows the resulting output when a valid link (meaning the picture ) exists. Again, this is made out of curiosity only. There's no intention of making this piece of sofware public... but if you insist, post your request in the comment section and I will send it to you but there's no way I can be responsible for damage it might incur. I developed this software for educational purpose only. So,use at your own risk!

Note: The software is not optimized for speed because i'm only using dataset to store the numbers and did not flush the 9-digit generated random numbers into a file to free the increasing memory usage. It might freeze your computer if you attempt to generate more than 10,000 combinations. Let me know if you are interested, i'll send it to you.
