It's the Final Showdown

Summer Showdown comes to a close with perhaps the most heated of all the episodes — the battle of the carpenters. Eric Stromer and designer Lauren Lake went head to head with carpenter Steve Watson and designer Sabrina Soto to make over America's worst backyard. Team Eric and Lauren were crowned the winners by our esteemed panel of celebrity judges. Do you think they got it right? Send in your comments.

Hunky Carpenters in a Backyard Battle

Last Sunday it was a clash of color titans when Constance Ramos and David Bromstad came up with two very different eye-popping bedroom designs.

And in the fourth and final Showdown, it's a battle between hunky handymen when carpenter Eric Stromer and designer Lauren Lake take on carpenter Steve Watson and designer Sabrina Soto to transform America's worst backyard.

Steve and Eric have already started talking trash, but in a few days the talking ends and the showdown begins. Watch Sunday night at 9/8c to see which team goes home victorious and who's going home on the shame train.

Competition Heats Up in the Kitchen

The Battle of the Sexes episode really sizzled with Lisa LaPorta and Carmen De La Paz pitted against Angelo Surmelis and Carter Oosterhouse to make over a Pennsylvania family's dated kitchen. Supplies were stolen and lost, and the trash talking was intense. Do you think Angelo and Carter deserved the trophy? Tell us.

Don't miss the Sunday, Aug. 17, episode. It's the Battle of the Color Experts. Designers Constance Ramos (Color Correction) and David Bromstad (Color Splash) duke it out against each other and the ticking clock. They'll have carpenter sidekicks Anthony Gilardi and Jared Walker Dostie helping them to redo America's most color-challenged bedroom as submitted on HGTV.com. Tune in to find out who's got the palette to knock out their opponent and take home the title.

The first episode of HGTV's hottest summer series had Design Star judges Vern Yip and Cynthia Rowley battling it out with their carpenter sidekicks James Lunday and Steve Hanneman, respectively. Though our judges crowned Vern and James the winners, how do you think they did? Send in your comments.

This summer is really heating up with a brand new series called Summer Showdown, featuring HGTV's top talent in a head-to-head design competition. We paired up dream teams of designers and carpenters to duke it out, and now it's your turn. Tell us who you'd want to see in a design duel, and see if others agree with you.

Plus, we sorted through hundreds of images sent in by you to find what we deem to be 20 of the worst rooms in America. We'll pick four of these rooms to be made over by our teams of designers this August during Summer Showdown. Which rooms do you think will make the final four?
