PULP

PULP is a paper playground where you can design, dance, and draw on the walls. We are currently looking for shooters familiar with the Film Board’s AC130 camera and event shooting for a trailer for next year’s party and to document this year’s party. This is a volunteer gig but you’ll get in for free (tickets are $15 online, $20 at door) and won’t have to work the whole night, meaning having some time to party! Please email web@pulpartparty.ca for more info. You can find more information about the event here: http://pulpartparty.ca/?utm_source=hhfb&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=pulp

3 Free Double Passes to Kon Tiki

The Film Board has received 3 free double passes for a screening of Kon Tiki at Varsity Cinema on April 29th. Doors open at 6pm and the event starts at 7pm. These passes are first come first serve and available during office hours on Friday and Monday evenings.

Equipment Updates

We’ve split the lav mics kit into individual cases so you can borrow one if you just need one and leave the other for other people! Well, we love-hate the Sennheisers. Our lav mics are at least 6 years old but they just won’t gorram stop working. I wanna buy new ones but can’t justify spending the money until these break (that is is not an invitation to try to break them–you’d have to pay for them :-p). We just got two cases so we can separate them into their own case. This way, if you just need one mic, you can borrow just one mic and the other one will be available for others to use.

We here at the Film Board love Pelican cases cause you can throw them off buildings and because they have a lifetime warranty against everything except sharks, bears and children under 5. One of the wheels on our case for the arri kit broke so I emailed them asking for a replacement wheel. They asked me if we had the older model of the case or the newer model. I said older and they said, “we don’t make that one anymore. Send it to us and we’ll send you a free replacement”. So here’s the free $300 beast we got in a few weeks. The Arri kit is back in it so you can cart it around a lot easier. We’re slowly replacing all our cases with wheeled ones to make it easier for you to cart the gear around. You can book the arri kit here.
