Abseiling for charity

In few weeks time, I'll be doing an abseil down The Broadgate Tower, which is 500ft high. I was so excited when I signed up, but as the day looms closer, I'm getting more and more nervous.

I'm doing this on the 8th June, so not long left. The charity I've chosen to do this for is The Mile End Climbing Wall, which helps people develop themselves and get the most out of life, particularly disadvantaged youth. It's a great cause and I would love to reach my target with it.

If you're able, I'd really appreciate a donation of any kind, or even a bit of encouragement - tempted to pull a sickie now on the day, haha!

I'm having a bit of a mental week, so sitting down hasn't been an option at all! Seriously, my feet are killing me - I've been in heels all week. But have a nice Vans and hoody day at work today. But I thought this would be the perfect time to give you an update on some of the more interesting things I've been up to lately via instagram (I'm @HiFashionSherin by the way).

The best view I've had of one of my favourite buildings in the world - bought back memories of University and my interning at Parliament days.

We had sun a while back, so I decided to show off my new Mel sandals, from Sarenza. Had to put them back away as it's been raining all week.

Took a trip to my happy place in London - Joe and the Juice. I remember the was I was there thrice a week, so it felt so good going back to get my favourite juice after not going in for a few months.

Volcom and Vans

While it's gotten colder again these last two weeks, we did have a fantastic weekend a few weeks ago, and I organised all my dresses and skirts. This was probably a premature action as I'm back to wearing boots and my coat.

Sometimes all your life needs is a bit of sun, paired with a comfortable dress and a pair of trainers. Vans are still my go to trainers for anything, and these black ones have seen me through a lot - everything from my favourite gigs to summer BBQ's. I've worn them enough that they've moulded perfectly with my feet.

And the Volcom dress is another favourite of mine. A gift from Rachel, this is the perfect summer dress. I love the whole laid back feel - I guess that's what Volcom do so well.

We had that brief week of sun, so looking out the window, into the constant rain is more depressing than ever. I need it to be warm so that I can wear all my dresses.

What did everyone get up to this weekend? My Sunday was planned around the Formula 1 - such a great race.

Innocent Inspires

There are some brands that aim to inspire and I love working with, and Innocent Smoothies are one of them. They do some really cool stuff and their latest campaign, Innocent Inspires, is fantastic and definitely inspirational.

Innocent Inspires is a series of events where people and speakers come in and discuss a whole host of topics, from health to creativity. The aim is to inspire people, with other inspirational people, by giving tips on how to make the world a better place.

The first talk took place in April, with the topic of How To Live Well and Die Old. Sadly, I had to miss the talk itself, but I've had a good time looking at some of the videos and thought I'd give them a share

Coast - playing Dress Up

I was recently in a Coast store for an event, and had an amazing time looking through some of the dresses and even managed to try a few on.
While I know the brand well, I've never properly tried any of the pieces on and I can honestly say I was super impressed.

While all pink is a look I've never worn, I had so much fun trying this little number on - definitely one of the prettiest things I've ever worn. Coast do some fantastic occasion dresses, for everything from weddings to balls (their current ball gown collection is so stunning, as part of a V&A Collaboration).

I felt so glam in this dress and definitely didn't want to take it off. It was such a pretty colour and shape: I particularly loved the feathered bits at the bottom. I need someone I know to get married this summer so that I can wear this dress there. I need an excuse to really dress up.

And the heels were a perfect match. I'm glad I had my pedicure last weekend so I was able to show my feet off in these open toed heels. Aren't they the prettiest? I also loved the detailing on the back.

Racing Across The Thames

Being a hardcore Londoner, I always thought that I'd done everything touristy and seen the whole city, but turns out there have been a few experiences that I haven't had the chance to do yet. One such experience was taking a speed boat across the River Thames. When Experience Days got in touch about a speed boat tour, I jumped at the chance and went along to it with my friend Cat this weekend. It was definitely an experience worth doing, and a different way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

We hopped on the speedboat from Embankment, with the boarding gate being right next to the London Eye. It was small boat, big enough for about 10, and it was so much fun. It started raining as soon as we hopped on, and this by no means stopped the fun - in fact the pouring rain made it that much more fun.

We were treated to a bit of a history lesson by the tour guide who was amazing. She was so hilarious and filled with great knowledge of the city and the best known monuments, such as the Tower of London and Big Ben. We actually had an incredible view of Big Ben while cruising along past it on the boat. It's one of my favourite buildings so I loved having such a great view of it.

Big Ben wasn't the only amazing view we got. We went past a few of the bridges, including Tower Bridge, and we also had a great view of The Shard.

The initial talk and tour lasted about 20 minutes, followed by a lot of thrashing around, for another 20 minutes. After the talk, the James Bond music came on and the real fun began. I love fast cars, and being in a fast boat is all the same thrill as speeding across a road with no speed limit. The boat's engine kicked in and we went really fast across the river, that involved a lot of crashing in waves and getting more wet with the rain. It was seriously so much fun - our faces say it all. We got absolutely soaked with the rain hitting our faces and the wind going through our hair. It slightly felt like we were getting a freshwater facial on our faces, haha.

But this is definitely something worth doing, whether you're just visiting the city, or are a Londoner wanting a different view of London.

Thanks to Experience Days for this experience. Definitely one I'll remember for years to come. Experience Days have a lot of really cool experiences on their site, and it's definitely worth checking out. There's activities and experience for all ages, so perfect if you want to give someone a gift or want to do something unique yourself.

Shopping with Westfield Stratford

Got to love a spot of shopping, especially when surrounded by great friends. I love that London has not one, but two Westfield's, meaning I can go shopping to either one depending where in town I am.

Chloe and I have been reading each other's blog for quite a while and I think she nailed it with my style. Skinny jeans and a cute top are my day to day essentials, and I love the pieces Chloe picked out for me - definitely my style. These Oasis skinnies are so perfect for the summer. They're made from a lighter denim, so they'll be wearable during the warmer months, and I love the cropped feel to them. The blouse is a new love of mine for sure. I love the purple colour and it fits so well. I'm definitely in need to more summer tops like this.

I have so much love for Westfield Stratford - It's absolutely GINORMOUS. Westfield London is slightly closer to me, so I don't get to go to the one is Stratford enough, but when I do, I have so much shopping fun. With all my favourite stores, restaurants and even an outdoor section, it's the perfect shopping centre. I love that stores such as The Kooples are next to the likes of Warehouse, with a massive New Look thrown in the mix. It's so nice to have all my favourite stores in one place.

The Westfield Gift Card is fantastic and I love shopping with it. Once it's filled up with some money, you're able to use it in most stores in Westfield. It's perfect for a gift, giving someone a variety of places to buy from rather than just one store.

Summer Stripes

Happy Bank Holiday Monday. I do love an extra day off, especially when the weather is so nice. Incidentally, while going through some past posts, I realise that I talk about the weather a lot, haha! Whoops. But anyway, yes, we've had lovely weather in London lately, and I've been relishing it!

Such a cute summer dress right? I love all the coloured stripes. This is something that a year ago, I wouldn't go near because of all the colours, but I was encouraged to buy it on a recent shopping spree and I don't regret my choice. I'm already planning picnics around this dress.

One of my favourite things about sunshine has to be sunglasses and how easy they make life. I never have to worry about make up and it makes getting ready to go out a bit quicker. I did have a slight allergy to some face powder and my eyes took a lot of the toll, so I have spent a few days without too much make up on, and sunglasses makes it a lot more bearable.

And so much love for my summer flats. They match the dress perfectly and the two tone look is so summery. I'm loving orange at the moment and the one on this isn't too overpowering or in your face, making it a fantastic shade to wear.

And here is my gorgeous new ring, from Jewellery World, who have a lot of jewellery, including diamond rings and gold necklaces on the site. This one is stunning and I haven't taken it off since I got it. I do love a bit of bling in my life, and this one does the job with the large green amethyst and two mini diamonds. This is definitely a piece I'll have for years to come, and will be able to pass it down through the generations too.

Phones and Make up

So, while I use my phone for the usual stuff - texting, calling, camera, Instagram - I also use my phone as a major fashion accessory. I love having different covers and cases for it, and matching it with my mood of the day or, more recently, matching it with my nails :). If you saw me last week, I was rocking a bright pink phone case that matched my bright pink nails!

I recently got this really cool, 3D phone case from Covers and Cases, who specialise in...well, covers and cases for your gadgets and toys. They have cases for everything from phones, kindles, tablets and latops, and the site has a lot of different brands, with a lot of selection.

The case I got for my Samsung S3 was from a brand called Freshfiber and I love how cool it looks. The back has a really unique geometric design which is actually 3D, so has two layers. There is actually room between the two layers to slip something (oyster card) in so you're not carrying a lot around with you. Definitely love how different it is from the other cases I have, and I'm enjoying whipping my phone out when I'm with friends and they're like 'woah'. It's worth checking out the site for some fun designs.

I've also got some new make up - yay. So while I've been having a mini allergy to my face powder, I'm not compromising when it comes to my eyes. I don't wear a lot on my face, but I have to have my eyes done everytime I go out. Back eyeliner and brown eyeshadow are my go-to's and I never leave the house without having them on. I have so many eyeshaow palettes right now and I love those ones in particular that have more than one colour in them.

I was recently sent this palette from Find Me A Gift, and it is fantastic. Find Me A Gift do a lot of realy lovely products, and they're great for a present for anyone, or even a treat for yourself. They stock everything from make up to gadgets, and even children's toys. I have quite a few bits of make up from FMAG, and have to admit they're pretty great. My last mascara I got from the site, I wore to death everyday. My latest piece of make up from there is the Shady Lady Zebra Eyeshadow palette from The Balm.

As you can see the packaging is pretty cute, and the colours look great. I love dark eyeshadow colours over brighter ones so this kit is perfect for me. I can use the bottom three as highlighters then the rest as proper eyeshadows to finish my look. I've tried them already and the colours look great. The colours are strong and do a great job of lasting all day. I'll put them on, and they'll last through the work day and well into my night out plans.

Blush snakeskin

I'm not going to lie, I was a little bit cold in this! It's only bare legged weather from 11am till about 4pm, then a cool evening breeze kicks in. While it's not freezing, I'm one of those people who likes to be hot, or at least warm, all the time. But nice to see us having some potential good weather. Another week or so, and I'll happily be out bare legged.

Isn't this skirt the cutest? The snakeskin look is the new leopard print, I like to think, but what I love most about this skirt is the blush undertone to it, hence Blush Snakeskin. Then I matched my wedges and taa-daa - match made in clothing heaven.

I also accessorised the plain white t-shirt with a fun statement necklace. Literally can not remember where the necklace is from at all, so if you know, let me know! It is a lovely necklace though, and great for spicing up a plain top.

Anyone have any fun plans for the weekend? I have a mini boat trip planned - more on that next week.

Millennium Hotel Afternoon Tea

I have so much love for Afternoon Tea. I'm thinking about bringing it into my diet full time, alongside brunch, so that I'm on 4-5 meals a day.

I was recently invited to an Afternoon Tea with Millennium Hotels, at their Knightsbridge hotel, which is gorgeous hotel and at a brilliant location - a stone throw away from Harvey Nichols and Harrods. The location is perfect if you're visiting London for a few days as you're on the doorstep of some of the best stores in the world, so you can shop till you drop, then head to your hotel and relax. It's also a beautiful hotel, both inside an out.

But on to the Afternoon Tea itself. We were sat at the Tangerine Cafe bar and the seating was perfect. It had a real laid back and chilled vibe, so great for sitting down and enjoying a much needed catch up with my favourite blogger friends. There was also a really adorable outdoor patio, with fairy lights. Perfect for those summer evenings, for just sitting and having a drink.

We were treated to an etiquette talk as well, which focused on etiquette during Afternoon Teas, and we also got a brief history of it and how it became so popular. I learnt so much and will share it all in good time. But in the meantime, I can tell you that you DO NOT cut your scone with a knife, but break it with your hands, then add butter/cream/jam with your knife.

The food was great too. So delicious. We started off with sandwiches, then moved onto the scones. I have a massive soft spot for scones (I love them so much I actually made them myself once - I literally only make food that I know I can't live without because I'm such a disaster in the kitchen). But these ones were great and definitely didn't disappoint. Baked to perfection and had me reaching for more.

And dessert included this little beaut: Yup, that's right a teacup made from chocolate, with chocolate inside. How's that for world's most perfect invention?

So if you're in town, or fancy a mini trip, I definitely recommend the Millennium Hotel in Knightsbridge.

Fashion Targets Breast Cancer

Digging with Timberland

Last week, I managed to get out of the office for the day and had a wonderful time in the sun with Timberland and The Edible Bus Stop. My whole day was a unique experience and it felt good to give back to the community.

The Edible Bus Stop is a fantastic idea. They aim to transform neglected sites along London's bus network into more beautiful locations that brighten up the neighbourhood and aims to put a smile on the face of local residents.

They're putting more green space around the city and really help transform the local area. It's great work and I was so happy to be involved in it. Timberland have teamed up with them and it's a great collaboration. They've been working on a patch in South London and we were invited down to help out for the day.

We were given some Timberland boots - so unbelievably comfortable -, a t-shirt and a shovel, and we sent on our way to help transform the patch. The area had such a fantastic community feel to it, with the local residents stopping by to say hi, and some fantastic team work took place amongst and bloggers and journalists too.

First steps were filling the areas we wanted to plant in with soil - which involved a lot of transporting soil via wheelbarrow and lifting a wheelbarrow. I'm not one for heavy lifting and moving my muscles around, so I felt the effects on my body the day after. But it was fun digging and loading up a wheelbarrow, then transporting everything to where it needed to be.

The next part had me doing something I never thought I'd ever be doing - working and shovelling horse manure! Again, we had to transport it to where we put the soil with a wheelbarrow, then mix it all around. The involved actually standing on it and using a large fork to mix it all together.

The final steps were planting a few of the lavender and rosemary bushes. That required some heavy lifting and then a lot more digging to put it in place to re-plant it. At the end we got to see out plants fully planting and it was a great feel to look at something and to say 'Yes - we did this'.

I had such a fun day and it was so rewarding. I was also impressed at how well my Timberland boots held up. They were comfortable throughout and actually looked pretty good. I can see myself wearing mine on a much more regular basis.

I've also been a lot more inspired to help my mum in our garden too.

Hot and Cold

Saturday was one of those days where it goes from really hot to really cold within minutes. In other words, I spent most of my day (which was a nice shopping trip) taking off and putting on my jacket every other minute - and I'm pretty sure I've had this rant before, with exactly the same blog post title!

While I still think I should be in a much warmer country, we have been having some sun, which alternates between being lovely and warm, to bright and cold. So weird. But at least I'm not wearing 6 layers again. The only dilemma is whether to dress for those cold moments, or those hot moments.
I particularly love the heels here - I'm loving two tone shoes right now, so these are perfect. The beige and orange together have such a lovely summer feel to them.

This 'quiff' is probably not the best one ever attempted, but hey, it kept the hair out of my eyes. I'm in the difficult process of growing out my fringe, and I haven't been to the hairdressers in months (I don't trust anyone with my hair, making hair appointments painful processes for me), so my hair, and fringe in particular, is all over the place. It's getting difficult to see out of my left eye, haha!

The good thing about bare arms is that I can show off some pretty bracelets and throw some 'arm parties'. These two bracelets are from The Robyn's Nest and I really love the pieces. The beaded one is so pretty while the heart one is such a perfect delicate piece. I definitely recommend checking out the site - it's full of unique and handmade pieces. Prices start at £4 and go up to £15, so very VERY affordable.

AW13 - Emslie & Canoe

Just some collections I fell in love me from some recent press days, from some of my favourite PR brands.

Emslie:

Zephyr hats are seriously the coolest. Snapbacks are everywhere right now, and I love the selection Zephyr has. I have a hat from there and it is so much fun to wear.

Kat & Bee jewellery is truly gorgeous and unique. The rings are made so beautifully and have so much personality to them. Definitely recommended if you want your jewellery to help you stand out.

Peva Nova is a jewellery brand I only heard about from the press day, and I'm glad I came across it. The collection is full of these incredible pieces that just look absolutely incredible. Each piece is so well made and there are all sorts of precious stones used in the jewellery.

D.Lo Socks were the most adorable things ever. I love how colourful and fun all the designs are - definitely a good way to brighten up the colder weather (which is back). I got a pair for myself and love them - they're so comfortable and warm they are.

Canoe

Ochre Blue are such a lovely handbag brand. I really loved what I saw and they all look so well made. They all looked so chic and so easy to style for any occasion.

Puma is a shoes brand that I love. I have a pair and they're fantastic shoes. I love the bright colours from the upcoming season and also some of the designer collaborations, from Alexander McQueen and Hussein Chalayan. But it's the bright coloured ones that I really have my eye on.

Volcom do shoes now. This really excites me. They always have such fun and laid back clothes in their collections, and the shoes look like they'll follow suit. They look incredibly cool. Once again, the clothes look really cool - can't wait to go in store to check them out.

Breo watches are my latest watch addiction - and we know how much I love watches. I actually have one from Breo and really like it. These watches are so durable.

We know about my love for handbags and shoes - especially shoes! And I particularly love discovering new brands and shoes, with my latest discovery being the super cool looking Mascotte. Mascotte is a high end shoe brand, that recently launched in Westfield London and have some great pieces.

I absolutely love the uniqueness of some of the shoes they have in their collection and the heels in particular look absolutely stunning! Now that it's warmer again, I'm so excited to actually go out in heels and not worry about slipping on ice/rain or having my feet freezing, so I've definitely been checking out Mascotte's selection.

Aren't these look book images amazing? They're shot so well and really show how pretty and original the shoes are. Particularly love the first ones. But I really have my eye one these ones below:

First legs of Summer

I am SO glad it's finally warm and that I'm not ill, so that I can enjoy it. There's something so refreshing about the spring, especially when you've had such a long and horrible winter, like we have - seriously, by the end it was dragging on.

I love that it was this bright and warm at 7.30am - I had my legs out for the first time this year too. My only concern now is to figure out how short is too short for my skirts at work. I have a love of really short skirts, so I'm predicting a summer of me pulling them down slightly, so that they're more decent.

This is one of my favourite skirt. As you know, I don't wear a lot of bright, meaning neon is out of the question, but I'm so drawn to this skirt. It's just something I can wear over the summer - I wore it a lot last summer!

Clearly not a lot to say today, but hope you're all having a great week. I've been so shattered lately - recovering from my cold and I'm sure going out every night isn't helping either!

ghd; Fashion Targets Breast Cancer

My hair is my pride and joy, with ghd being my go to for both stylers and products. Everything smells so nice and nothing compares to the shine and finishing you get when you do your hair with a pair of ghd's. I'm not the only one who thinks so with designers using the ghd team during Fashion Weeks every season. London College of Fashion, PPQ and David Koma all had the ghd team on hand to create the upcoming season's hottest hair trends.

I was invited by ghd to check out these hair looks properly last week and see exactly how they were achieved.

David Koma had the sleek ponytail - it's a classic look and ghd did a great job perfecting it so that it matched the clothes on display. It was simple to get with a centre parting, and the hair being perfectly straightened, then pulled back into a low ponytail. To compete the look and give it that edge, the the final tips are to loosen the hairband and pull strands out around the face. I thought this looked so lovely and simple - definitely one for the summer.

The PPQ hair look was incredible and so glam. The beehive used was inspired by the early 90's and ghd made the style easy to use, with the key tip being using hairspray throughout, instead of just at the end to finish the look. The beehive was also achieved by using a large hair doughnut to create the ultimate shape.

London College of Fashion's 'Neo Grunge' look was probably my favourite. It's an easy going hairstyle, and one that doesn't take too long to create. It's done with the straighteners, styling the hair so that it's coming forward, and on to the face. The new ghd Eclipse straighteners (which work amazingly) are also used to create a bit of volume as well. My friend and I both had this look done on the evening, and it was such a fun look to pull off.

I also went to Breakthrough Breast Cancer's offices a few weeks ago and managed a sneak peek at the new Fashion Targets Breast Cancer collection. I love that so many brands get involved every year and this year see's Marks & Spenser, Topshop, River Island, My Wardrobe, Coast and a lot more getting involved with some gorgeous look.

The theme this year is based on unity and how we're stronger together - and this years campaign aims to see mother's and daughters uniting with the line 'Wear Your Support'.

The collection is really stylish and I was impressed by some of the clothes I saw. Coast had some really pretty dresses, while Topshop had some really stylish and cool pieces that will be wearable for any occasion this summer, no matter your age, style or budget. I love how it was easy to see what was for the mothers and what was for the daughters, and how sweet the two looks will look together. I definitely recommend checking out the collections and don't forget to Wear Your Support (even if it's just with the River Island bracelets, which I'm sporting below).

This year see's mother/daughter duos as ambassadors, with Sharon and Kelly Osbourne and Pearl and Daisy Lowe all getting involved.

And this Friday (26th April) is Fashion Target's Friday too. The charity are working to get schools and colleges involved in 'own-clothes' days. Certain schools are doing fun parties and fashion shows, while students will be wearing their own clothes for the charity. I know the aim is to get the workplace involved too, so I'm definitely going to get involved and wear something a bit more fun on Friday.

Warmth on my skin

It feels nice to take outfit pictures when it's actually nice weather, with some decent lighting. This was a casual work outfit from a few weeks ago, and I loved the feeling of not having to wear boots and 5 layers.

It is still rare to see me wearing any colour, I love this green top - definitely one I'll be wearing more often this summer. Zara always has such great stuff everytime I go in store these days - it's seriously making me go broke! It's funny; when ever I go out shopping on Oxford Street, I only ever go into the Zara's and H&M's as there are about 2 or 3 of each.

I am also so happy that I can now wear pretty heels and courts without having to worry about my feet freezing. Although, I've been in flats and boots for so long, I'm having to re-learn how to walk in heels, haha. These are a great pair though. The heel isn't massively high, so comfortable to walk in, and there are pops of red which make it more fun.

And the week of sunshine we've had so far is making me really excited for the summer, and I'm getting all my plans sorted. I'm thinking picnics (cocktails) in the park after work, lot's of festivals (I already have tickets for one), as well as my birthday, polo, golf, trips around the UK and learning to ride a bike. I'm definitely going to make the most of my summer months.

Me; Stylight, Wantr; Lancome

I've been away from the blog for a few days - I had the nastiest little cold ever, which then changed into an awful fever, so was out of action for a few days. I'm still not recovered 100%, but am getting there slowly. I did manage some fun stuff while in my feverish state, and only feel slightly guilty for spreading my germs, but here's an update of what I've seen and discovered this last week:

Firstly, I decided to do something for a good cause. I used to quite a bit of charity work, but got lazy with it over the last few years, but I'm jumping right in again. So I decided it would be a good idea to abseil down the Broadgate Tower - which is the 510ft building I work in - for a good cause. I've down abseiling once before, so I know the closer I get to it, the more nervous I'll be. I've just set up my JustGiving page, so I would love you guys to sponsor me, even if it's a little bit. I also recently discovered Stylight, who have just launched in the UK. It's a fashion community where fashion lovers can share inspirations, connect and compare items to find the best deals. You're able to 'heart' items and then make really cool inspiration boards with them - definitely a nice way to spend an afternoon in the garden, relaxing in the sun and looking at pretty things.

There's a massive selection of pieces online, from tons of brands so you'll be able to create your dream outfits for sure. I'm in a bit of a clothes rut at the moment, so I've definitely been gaining some inspiration through Stylight and can't wait to get my 'fashion mojo' back now. Definitely inspired after seeing all the really pretty stuff they have and creating some nice boards. You can also add pictures to your boards to make them truly unique.

While on the subject of new fashion sites, I also came across Wantr, which seems like a really useful resource. Basically, it's a resource where you bring all your favourite online stores together, in one feed, and it updates you about new products coming in. your feed can involve anything from large retailers, such as ASOS, to smaller, more independent Etsy stores. I think this is a great idea. I go to a lot of press days and see a lot of collections ahead of time, so it's nice to know when some of my favourites drop in. It's nice to have all that information in one place, and I can't wait to use the service some more.

I was lucky enough to check out Lancome's new Hypnose eyeshadows earlier this week. I popped into Selfridges and (after nearly but not quite buying a new handbag), I went to the Lancome counter in the beauty hall to see make up artist Alex Babsky do a little tutorial. Alex is a world renowned make up artist, working on the likes of Elizabeth Olsen and Naomi Campbell, so this was quite a treat. He was also recently named as Lancome's first UK make up artist ambassador.

The new palettes are amazing and Alex did a fab job showcasing how to use them.They have new 'wet' technology, which means that the colour will be more vibrant once applied and each one has a range of colours to help you create the perfect eye. There are 4 shades and an eyeliner in each palette and the colours compliment each other perfectly.
I got a palette with neutral shades, which made me very happy - neutral eyeshadows are my ultimate favourite as I'm able to wear them every day. I have instructions on how to use it, and when to use which shade and brush, so I can't wait to try it out for myself.

Cycle Chic

The weather has been great recently, and it's got me thinking of all my summer plans. I'm definitely going to do picnics in the evenings after work, go to a few festivals, and even take a few weekend road trips across the UK. One of the most important things on my summer list of things to do it ride a bike! I've been meaning to properly learn and I know even have a teacher willing to help me out.

So Londoners know just what a big part cycles play in the city, especially with Barclay Cycle Hire bikes dotted around the city so you can pick them up and drop them off whenever you want. It's a great idea, and Barclays Cycle Hire are now encourage women to take up cycling.

This is done with a new series of videos, aimed at women, who are only 1/3 of cyclists on London Roads. There is a fantastic video, called Spin In Style, that looks at the more stylish side of cycling, featuring some of the cute accessories you can have while cycling, such as bags and helmets.

I was sent this super cute bag from Cycle Chic, and really love it. It'll be so easy to latch on to my bike - when I get one, which will hopefully be soon - and then turns into a cute bag for everyday life. I've actually been using it for everyday, such as work and shopping trips, and love it. It's super sturdy, and one that I'm confident will keep everything secure while I'm out cycling.

Gant AW 13/14

We are in the midst of Press Day season and, now that I'm working, I can't go to them all. I've been picking and choosing my favourite brands, and so far I haven't been disappointed by what I've seen. All the brands I love so much have lived up to all expectations with their upcoming collection.

Gant has definitely been one of my collections. Last season, it was very 'Revenge'-esque and this season, the collection has really matured. The inspiration is very New York City, full of sophistication and chicness.

There were a lot of really comfy looking chunky knits on display too. Some of the jumpers looked so warm - perfect for layering.

Alongside all the classic pieces, I was also happy to see some modern touches, and a lot of colour. The pastel colours looked amazing, and I can't wait for them to come in store next season so I can wear them all - especially this rail below:

The polo shirts looked great too. They fit in with the preppy feel of the brand. I already have a Gant polo and love it so much. Summer is starting to come to the UK, so can't wait to wear it over the next few months.

Wedding Outfit

This weekend saw the wedding of a really close family friend of ours, so it was filled with a lot of celebrations and a lot more dancing. I very rarely get the chance to dress up and go to a real Pakistani wedding, with all the colour and dressing up.

This is what appears to be in fashion at the moment, when it comes to traditional clothes: a long flared dress, with a pair of matching skinny trousers.

I paired it with a pair of heels - one of my favourites from Sarenza. I love the studs on them and really makes them stand out at any occasion. I've been living in boots recently, so it was nice to wear a gorgeous pair of heels to strut around in.

Toms; Sara Hartley

TOMS are once again doing something fantastic, this time with their 'One Day Without Shoes' campaign, where the brand are encouraging people to go barefoot to raise awareness for children's health and education worldwide. It takes place this Tuesday 16th and people will be able to Instagram and use the #WithoutShoes hashtag.

On the 16th, TOMS will be teaming up with District MTV to join them and go on a barefoot walk. This will take place at the new TOMS pop up store, 15 Monmouth Street, starting at 7pm. The pop up will be open all day, with live acts and DJ sets. I'll definitely be popping along - but not before spending my day giving myself a new manicure so I can share a picture of me going barefoot. If you're in London, definitely pop by the store, as it should be a wonderful event.
This is what I love about TOMS, and what makes it such an amazing brand. They have great shoes, but they are more than about that. Projects will help raise awareness about those children who don't have access to a good education system that will sadly keep them in a poverty cycle. Not hving shoes hinders these children from going to school and from learning, but with TOMS help, these kids get shoes and access to a way out, but staying in school and getting life opportunities.

From one thing I love (shoes) to another: Jewellery. I'm a huge fan of a bit of bling, and I love discovering new brands and designers. I've recently discovered Sara Hartley and, in particular, her new Tinies collection. It's such an adorable collection, inspired by her two children, but it something that can be worn by everyone. Th collection seems personal and is designed to spark a memory or feelings, with some really cute and delicate pieces. There are some cute charms, with different characters, in silver or 18ct gold or rose gold plated. There are bangles, necklaces and charm bracelets in the collection, and some of the pieces even have small stones, such as diamonds or rubies for a more luxurious feel.

These pieces below are my absolute favourites. The little girl with the stone below is so stunning, as are the pieces with the elephants.
