First of all, avoid eating, smoking, and exercising for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement. Remove tight-fitting clothing from your upper arm, and sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Slide your left arm through the cuff and position the cuff approximately 0.5-inches above the elbow. On the cuff you'll notice a green marker; position this marker directly over the artery on the inside of your arm. Next, secure the cuff with the Velcro material. The cuff should make direct contact with your skin, but you should be able to easily fit your index finger between the cuff and your arm.
Place your arm on a table so that the cuff is positioned at the same level as your heart. Rest comfortably in a relaxed environment for at least 15 minutes prior to taking your blood pressure measurement. Once you feel relaxed, simply press the start button and remain still. The cuff will begin to inflate and numbers will appear on the display as the heart symbol flashes. When the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate, and your blood pressure and pulse rate will display on the screen. If you need to stop the measurement at any time, simply press the on/off button and the monitor will immediately deflate. And remember, always consult your physician for specific information about your blood pressure.
What is IntelliSense?
The IntelliSense monitor inflates the cuff to the ideal level with each use -- you never have to make any adjustments to select an inflation level. This is especially convenient for hypertensive users and for people with certain arrhythmia or heart disorders because their blood pressure is so likely to fluctuate. The biggest advantage of using the IntelliSense technology is a personalized inflation every time for maximum comfort.

The Importance of Home Blood Pressure Monitoring
Doctors, diabetes educators, physician assistants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals all recommend home blood pressure monitoring for various reasons. Home monitoring provides your healthcare professionals with better information to understand and manage your high blood pressure. Many types of hypertension can only be detected by monitoring your blood pressure at home, including:

White-Coat Hypertension: blood pressure reading is high in your doctor's office but lower at home

Masked Hypertension: blood pressure reading is low in doctor's office but higher at home

Morning Hypertension: blood pressure reading is higher in the morning

Additionally, many factors can affect your blood pressure, including physical exertion, emotional fluctuations, medications, and stress. So having your blood pressure monitored at a pharmacy with an in-store device after you've been shopping or walking around might not provide you with the most accurate measurement. Monitoring your blood pressure at home allows you achieve a relaxed state more easily, and it gives you the flexibility to take your measurements at various times during the day. By keeping track of your home blood pressure readings, you can provide your healthcare professional with a log of your measurements over time. This can help them evaluate the effectiveness or need for medication.

Source: Omron HEM-780 Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor with ComFit Cuff

Stop High Blood 5 Minutes From Now: Click Here!

Panasonic EW3109W Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor (White)

Product Description

The Panasonic EW3109W Automatic Arm Blood Pressure Monitor is the first portable arm unit in the industry. They provide a convenient choice for those who want a second unit for away from home or who have trouble placing a cuff on their arm. The Omron HEM-629 Auto Inflate Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor uses Omron's patented IntelliSense technology, which inflates the wrist cuff to the ideal level with each use and offers fast, personalized, and automatic inflation for maximum comfort. No adjustments are required to select an inflation level--especially convenient for hypertensive users and for people with certain arrhythmia or heart disorders, because their blood pressure is more likely to fluctuate. And with the HEM -629's 60-memory recall with date and time stamp, as well as averaging capabilities for the last three readings, you can track your blood pressure and pulse progress as your work towards a healthier lifestyle. You'll have additional peace of mind knowing that the HEM-629 comes with a 5-year warranty.
Because the HEM-629 has a wrist cuff, it is particularly helpful if you have a larger than average sized arm. The monitor fits those with a wrist size of 5.25 to 8.5 inches, and it ensures easier and more comfortable use. Note, however, that a wrist monitor does require proper positioning of the device at the heart level. It is critical that when using a blood pressure monitor the cuff is the appropriate size and is properly applied. An ill-fitting cuff or an incorrectly-applied cuff can result in inaccurate readings. Consult your doctor or the included instructions for the proper application of the cuff.
Source: Omron HEM 629 Auto Inflate Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor

Get Natural! This monitor is incredibly easy to use -- simply wrap the cuff around your arm and press start. In seconds, your blood pressure and pulse readings are displayed on the large digital panel. Proven time and time again, Omron's IntelliSense technology ensures accurate, clinically-proven, and comfortable readings.

Instructions for Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitors
There are several easy steps to taking your blood pressure with this monitor.
The biggest advantage of using the IntelliSense technology is a personalized inflation, every time, for maximum comfort.

Source: The Omron HEM-712C Automatic Blood Monitor

Stop High Blood 5 Minutes From Now: Click Here!

Understand about High Blood

For understand about high blood pressure look this video

Medication for High Blood Pressure

For your information, antihypertensives are available to lower high blood pressure. Diuretics rid the body of excess fluids and salt (sodium) and should be used as initial therapy for most patients. Other medications called beta-blockers reduce the heart rate and the heart's output of blood.

Antihypertensive also is called sympathetic nerve inhibitors. Sympathetic nerves go from the brain to all parts of the body, including the arteries. They can cause the arteries to constrict, raising blood pressure. This class of drugs reduces blood pressure by inhibiting these nerves from constricting blood vessels.
Another group of drugs is the vasodilators. These can cause the muscle in the walls of the blood vessels to relax, allowing the vessel to dilate.

This is a example drugs used to treat high blood pressure

1. Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors
- Interfere with the body's production of angiotensin, a chemical that causes the arteries to constrict.

2. Angiotensin II receptor blockers
- Block the effects of angiotensin.

3. Calcium antagonists (calcium channel blockers)
- Can reduce the heart rate and relax blood vessels.

For treating high blood pressure may require lots of time, patience and care by both doctor and patient. It may be annoying to take pills and possibly have side effects, especially if you felt fine before treatment. Don't be discouraged if you must be treated indefinitely. Some people can reduce their drug dosages after achieving normal blood pressure and maintaining it for a year or more. (You usually can't stop treatment entirely.) Coping with the inconvenience of medication is still much better than suffering a stroke or heart attack. Most people who are treated successfully live a long and healthy life.

Everyone with high blood pressure doesn't need to be treated with the drugs listed here. Some people may do just as well by reducing weight, eating properly and getting the right amount of physical activity. Don't insist that your doctor use a certain drug because you've read or heard about its effect on other people. You can have a serious side effect if you take a "wonder drug" that isn't right for you. Let your doctor decide what drug, if any, to use.

If your doctor recommends medication, remember that people respond very differently to these medications. That's why you might have to go through a trial period to find out which medications work best with the fewest side effects. Your blood pressure is only lowered while you are taking these medications. That's why medication can't be stopped, in most cases, even after blood pressure is lowered. Some treatment must be continued over a lifetime for good results.

-Here is a checklist for taking your prescriptions.
-Use this handy chart to keep track of your medications.

Here are some drugs used to treat high blood pressure. Your doctor may prescribe others. This list isn't all-inclusive.

<itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit><itunes:subtitle>For your information, antihypertensives are available to lower high blood pressure. This class of drugs reduces blood pressure by inhibiting these nerves from constricting blood vessels. Another group of drugs is the vasodilators. These can cause the muscle in the walls of the blood vessels to relax, allowing the vessel to dilate. This is a example drugs used to treat high blood pressure 1. Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors - Interfere with the body's production of angiotensin, a chemical that causes the arteries to constrict. 2. Angiotensin II receptor blockers - Block the effects of angiotensin. 3. Calcium antagonists (calcium channel blockers) - Can reduce the heart rate and relax blood vessels. Rest your arm on a table at the level of your heart.
· Wear short sleeves so your arm is exposed.
· Go to the bathroom prior to the reading. A full bladder can change your blood pressure reading.
· Get two readings the high blood pressure, taken at least two minutes apart, and average the results.
· Ask the doctor or nurse to tell you the blood pressure reading in numbers.

How Is Blood Pressure Tested?

Having your blood pressure tested is quick and easy. Blood pressure is measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg) and recorded as two numbers systolic pressure diastolic pressure.

Example: The doctor or nurse might say "140 over 80" as a blood pressure reading. Both numbers in a blood pressure reading are important. As we grow older, systolic blood pressure is especially important.

To test your blood pressure, your doctor will use a familiar device with a long name. It is called a sphygmomanometer, and may look something like this. The blood pressure testing devices use electronic instruments or digital readouts. In situation, the blood pressure reading appears on a small screen or is signaled in beeps, and no stethoscope is used.

Equipment for Test High Blood Pressure

The equipment in the picture was used for check or test high blood pressure. Some detail for part of equipment will explaining in below.

Pump
· A pump inflates the cuff to stop the blood flow in your artery for a few seconds.

Valve
· A valve lets some air out of the cuff, which allows the blood flow to start again.

Dial
· A numbered dial or a column of mercury can be used to record the blood pressure reading.

Cuff
· A cuff is wrapped around your upper arm.

Stethoscope
· Used to hear the sound of blood rushing back thought the artery. The first thumping sound is the systolic blood pressure. When the thumping sound is no longer heard, that’s the diastolic pressure.

Effect of High Blood Pressure on Your Body

Do you know effect of high blood pressure on your body? It has 5 organs to effect of high blood pressure to get a closer look at what high blood pressure does to these organs. The organs are arteries, brain, eyes, heart and kidneys.

1. Arteries
As people get older, arteries throughout the body "harden," especially those in the heart, brain, and kidneys. High blood pressure is associated with these "stiffer" arteries. This, in turn, causes the heart and kidneys to work harder.

2. Brain (Stroke)
High blood pressure is the most important risk factor for stroke. Very high pressure can cause a break in a weakened blood vessel, which then bleeds in the brain. This can cause a stroke. If a blood clot blocks one of the narrowed arteries, it can also cause a stroke.

3. Eyes (Impaired Vision)
High blood pressure can eventually cause blood vessels in the eye to burst or bleed. Vision may become blurred or otherwise impaired and can result in blindness.

4. Heart (Heart Attack)
High blood pressure is a major risk factor for heart attack. The arteries bring oxygen-carrying blood to the heart muscle. If the heart cannot get enough oxygen, chest pain, also known as "angina," can occur. If the flow of blood is blocked, a heart attacks results.

5. Kidneys (Kidney Damage)
The kidneys act as filters to rid the body of wastes. Over time, high blood pressure can narrow and thicken the blood vessels of the kidneys. The kidneys filter less fluid, and waste builds up in the blood. The kidneys may fail altogether. When this happens, medical treatment or a kidney transplant may be needed.

High blood pressure adds to the workload of your heart and arteries. Your heart must pump harder, and the arteries carry blood that's moving under greater pressure. If high blood pressure continues for a long time, your heart and arteries may not work as well as they should. Other body organs may also be affected. There is increased risk of stroke, congestive heart failure, kidney failure and heart attack.

Source:
Get Natural! In fact, you can have high blood pressure for years without knowing it. High blood pressure is “silent killer” people in any time, so it’s dangerous. When the cause is unknown, you have what's called essential or primary hypertension. Factors that may lead to high blood pressure in the remaining 5–10 percent of cases, which are known as secondary hypertension; include:

1. Kidney abnormality
2. Narrowing of certain arteries
3. A structural abnormality of the aorta existing since birth

These problems can usually be corrected. Most of these problems can be ruled out by a careful history, a physical examination and a few tests. Special tests are sometimes needed, but you don't usually have to stay in the hospital.

High Blood Pressure Detection

You can find out if you have high blood pressure by having your blood pressure checked regularly. Most doctors will diagnose a person with high blood pressure on the basis of two or more readings, taken on several occasions. A consistent blood pressure reading of 140/90 mmHg or higher is considered high blood pressure, another term for hypertension.

Some people experience high blood pressure only when they visit the hospital or clinic. If your doctor suspects this, you may be asked to monitor your blood pressure at home or asked to wear a device called an ambulatory blood pressure monitor. This device is usually worn for 24 hours and can take blood pressure every 30 minutes. In this section you will learn more about diagnosing high blood pressure.

Why High Blood Pressure Important?

High blood pressure is dangerous because it makes the heart work too hard। It also makes the walls of the arteries hard. High blood pressure is defined in an adult as a blood pressure greater than or equal to 140 mm Hg systolic pressure or greater than or equal to 90 mm Hg diastolic pressure.

Your heart beats about 60 to 80 times a minute under normal conditions. Your blood pressure rises with each heartbeat and falls when your heart relaxes between beats. Your blood pressure can change from minute to minute, with changes in posture, exercise or sleeping, but it should normally be less than 120/80 mm Hg for an adult. Blood pressure that stays between 120–139/80–89 is considered prehypertension and above this level is considered high.
High blood pressure directly increases the risk of coronary heart disease and stroke, especially when it's present with other risk factors।

This table is recommended blood pressure levels

About High Blood Pressure

Welcome to my blog. This blog is told about high blood pressure is danger for your life. The blood can't circulate through the body. If circulating blood can’t in body system, vital organs can't get the oxygen and food that they need to work. So it's important to know about blood pressure and how to keep it within a healthy level. Normal blood pressure falls within a range, but not one set of numbers.

When the heart beats, it pumps blood to the arteries and creates pressure in them. This pressure results from two forces:-

1) Created as blood pumps into the arteries and through the circulatory system.
2) Created as the arteries resist the blood flow.

If you're healthy, your arteries are muscular and elastic. They stretch when your heart pumps blood through them. How much they stretch depends on how much force the blood exerts.
