Synopsis:

A symbol being the title of the film, it is replete with symbolism in every frame. Right from the part where title sequence is displayed, Supershowcases the creativity of its maker, Upendra. For instance, the credit for direction just shows “U” with an index finger pointing towards the audience—which could be interpreted as the film, in this case, the story of India, is directed by its people. This story of India is narrated metaphorically through the story of Indira, the female lead.

Super depicts a Utopian India in the year 2030 where Indians are pictured to be wealthy, hard-working, and are seen wearing traditional clothing consisting of Ilkal saree and panche. In contrast, westerners are the ones taking care of menial jobs like taxi driving, janitorial, etc. It is a future where the rupee is valued 70 times the British pound and people who cannot speak Kannada are considered illiterates (and westerners are visibly apologetic about the same). From this setting, the film regresses back to the current year 2010 where India is beset with problems of corruption, red-tapism, pollution and unemployment. Political satire is played out by using sounds of horses and donkeys when ministers appear on screen, which represents the political horse trading witnessed in recent times in the state of Karnataka. Scenes of raping Indira and the auctioning process of an entire Indian state are interspersed to draw a parallel between the two. The film finds a climax back in 2030 where a foreigner asks an Indian as to who was responsible for all the good changes in India, and the film ends abruptly again with the index finger pointing at the audience, symbolizing that it’s the people who are ultimately responsible for the course of a nation.

Synopsis:

Manohara is an unemployed youth who is always looked down on by his family. However his uncle is very supportive to him. One day in order to prove that he is capable of doing something in his life he invents electricity producing machine. Things goes wrong and his invention end up in damaging the public property and he lands up in prison. Later everyone starts to think that Manohara is mentally unstable. He starts drinking and even fights his close friend. While going home after the party he is mistakenly captured by the security staff of a rehabilitation centre instead of another person(Mahendra) thinking that he is the same guy who escaped the mental facility (rehab-centre). Some doctors manufacture new records to prove that Manohara is Mahendra and is suffering from mental disorder. During his stay at the rehab-centre, Mahendra accidentally sees Devika, a mental patient and falls in love with her. He escapes with Devika and spends three to four days roaming with her outside. Love develops between the two and Devika discloses her tragic flashback to Mahendra (Manohara).

At last, when he is released by rehab centre he had already won many patient’s hearts and they are filled with tears to see him go out.

Yograj Bhat has given a message in the end with the Punch dialogue by Devika to Manohara: “Look properly at the world not only you but everyone are mad and you are just one among.”

Synopsis:

Pancharangi is a story that unfolds in a span of two days. Bharath (Diganth) meets Ambika (Nidhi Subaiah) in Mangalore. He has gone there with his family to fix the marriage of his elder brother with Ambika’s sister. Bharath is a student of Kannada literature and is passionate about his language and land. He is a complete contrast to his US based ‘well settled’ software engineer brother and thus a ‘black sheep’ in the family. But Ambika, for whom this is hardly a cause of concern, falls for Bharath.

This is a wholesome entertainer. The ‘Jaan’ of Johny Mere Naam….Preethi Mere Kaam is the wonderful performance of Ramya, Vijay, Rangayana Raghu, Dattanna plus lovely songs and cinematography add to the value of the film.

There is lot of fun, memorable songs, color of the film is quite impressive and over all Preetham Gubbi has given a winner. The set erected for this film is glorious and the computer technique for a song is glorious.

In the Gandhi Colony Johny is into deals with Rangayana Raghu and Black Bonda (Rakesh). The trio is so funny that the colony is happy with smile always. By mistake the trio accepts one of the deals and kidnap Priya (Ramya). This kidnap does not lead to various complications but Johny is bowled over by the beauty of Priya. His heart starts demanding Priya. He knows that he is very local Priya is international. The series of attempts to please Priya brings Johny very near to her. Johny takes up social service in his colony only because of Priya.

To the shock of Johny one day Priya takes him to her boy friend house. Very soon the net chatting boy friend of Priya Rakesh is disclosed as fake. Irritated with it Priya decide to leave to USA. On her way travelling in the car Priya changes her mind and accepts the true love of Johny

Synopsis:

Sidlingu is a comedy-emotional coming of age Cinema of Karnataka starring Yogesh and Ramya in the lead roles. Anoop Seelin has composed the music.

Sidlingu has a passion for cars since his childhood and gets closer to a young girl and a middle-aged lecturer because of his desire to own a car. But the lecturer, who gives him lift, seduces him. Later Sidlingu moves to Srirangapattana where he finds one vintage car and wants to purchase it. There he meets schoolteacher Mangala who helps him to realise his dreams. Sidlingu even expresses his desire to marry Mangala, but she keeps mum as she feels Sidlingu is an innocent and infatuated youngster.

Actress Ramya is noted for an image makeover in this film playing the role of Mangala, a middle-class school teacher portraying the role of a woman who is behind the success of a man in the film.

The critics lauded the lead actors performances as well as cinematography and music.It also praised the debutant director’s efforts.The de-glam avatar of Ramya also got appreciation. One india website said “Sidlingu has an engaging story and good humour. Worth a watch”.The Dna India website gave the movie 3.5 stars and said Sidlingu held all the possibilities of soaring high but it falls short, leaving you asking for more and also applauded the performance of the lead pair.
