Ive read better romance books

I thought this was going to be more romantic, less dominant. The dominance in the bedroom went over the top sometimes (but im not one to like a lot of bdsm) it just seemed odd for a woman seems shy to want to sign her life over to a very dominate man. If hes dominant he doesnt want a shy women. He has to make her feel brave first, then he’ll dominate her in the bedroom. it doesnt make sense. The dymamic seemed off. I did read all of it, but the beginning did not intrigue me, i was going to stop reading it because it was just her describing what everybody was thinking and feeling, not a lot of dialogue. It didnt pull at my heart strings after I finished reading it. There were no surprises, meaning that there was no anticipation, building up to find out this one secret(s). All the plots were all mundane. The author described the things as average. Such as she did not go in depth in a lot of parts of the book, instead she just explained it like any average person would. I dont think its worth the price they are selling it for. Sorry but this book was not executed well.

I was excited when I first bought this book (at $.99, thank goodness), but now that I’ve finished it, I have mixed feelings about it. As exciting as the sex scenes were, I felt like there was so much lacking in character development and the story as a whole. I did not like the male lead, Gabe, at all. He was too entitled, controlling, and abusive for it not to raise any red flags big enough for Mia to just run out the door when everything began. I feel like it’s a good premise that could’ve been done so much better. As long as you’re into sexy stories that you know from the start are not to be taken too seriously, go ahead.

Enjoyed reading Mia and Gabe’s story. Worth the the three dollars I payed. Really looking forward to reading the next two sequels. I saw a lot of reviews saying it was sad and heartbreaking—and that it was a copy of 50 shades of Grey. Those are total lies. This is not one bit remotely close it. I totally recommend reading this beautiful, fun and steamy story.

I absolutely LOVED the book I had a little reservation at first seeing reviews some said it was a copy of 50 shades but I gave it a chance and it is one of the best books I’ve ever read I just finished it so 3ed night I’m up to 1 In the morning reading it when I’m religiously asleep by 9 lol Even thought I’m only 22 ! Only negative comment is I wanted it longer I didn’t want it to end ! AMAZING BOOK BY AN AMAZING AUTHOR !

Gabe a strong sexy millionaire ... Lusting after his best friends baby sister... He was hot, taught Mia a lot and fell for her hard but didn't know how to handle his feelings for her. Mia inexperienced, much younger than Gabe but has had feelings for him for awhile.... Gabe made a mistake in Paris .. He came to terms as to why he made the mistake but still couldn't come terms with his feelings for Mia which lead to some heart break but in the end worked out wonderfully!! Now comes Fever and Burn ... The writer just threw these stories together without any thought... Made the heroes out to be wimps... The heroine for Jace was just a complaining female... She was ridiculous as was Jace ... Maya Banks could have done so much better for Jace.... I so looked forward to Ash's story and again it was a flop then Ms Banks did it again she made Gabe look awful... Ugh .. I was sooo disappointed with the sequels, do not buy them if you don't have too... Go to the second hand store for them ... Rush is the only one worth paying full price!

At best I would give this book 2 stars. The story is somewhat similar to Fifty Shades of Grey in that it involves a filthy rich, good looking man who loves S & M and young women fresh out of college. The story was disappointing as it was not only a bit cheesy with the sex details but so very predictable. The author didn't go into any great detail to tell you more about the main characters including but not limited to describing what they physically look like. (ex: eye color, hair, height) Certainly not a book that I couldn't put down until I finished it.

First book I read from Maya Banks, interesting, liked the story of the long time friendship/family/business partners etc. I had trouble with Gabe, I think I liked him better after reading Fever, but in Rush he was most of the time a jerk. That Paris scene was awful, hate it, really, it did not have to be part of the book. It was demeaning nothing sexy, hot about it. I thought dominants only shared with other dominants, why in the hell was he exposing Mia to regular business partners. Also Jace and Ash big hypocrites! I mean, the are also into kink, pain/pleasure stuff, they are dominant but yet they censured Gabe and Mia!

The book was great although the Paris incident is a bit unnecessary, insulting the character of Mia a bit. A fan of the crossfire trilogy (more then Shades) I did feel a lack of originality with this book. Overall- I enjoyed reading the third crossfire book- missing the story a bit when id finished: this book acted as a good substitute. Hopefully I can find another book with a story line beyond the rich guy in the manhattan sky rise that is obsessed with the "sweet" young girl. I need something a bit less predictable now..

For a great story, excellent characters, and well researched stories I highly recommend the Play By Pay series by Jaci Burton. Best to skip this series and read Maya Banks 'Sweet' series. Much better written than these.

While similar to 50 Shades it was very different at the same time. If you like detailed sexcapades you'll love this. If you are looking for a gripping love story with some racey parts you may be left wanting more. Usually I cling right on to these stories but it took me well over half the book to really become engaged. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the book but I definitely found my self skimming through some of the very detailed sex scenes trying to find out what happens next in the story. All in all good read but I've read better. Still not sure I want to read the rest if the trilogy since this one didn't go so well and I've heard very mixed reviews on the others.

Walteris Isaacsonas (g. 1952) yra rašytojas ir biografas, ASPEN instituto, nevyriausybinės mokslo ir politikos studijų organizacijos Vašingtone prezidentas ir vadovas, dirbęs CNN valdybos pirmininku ir direktoriumi, TIME vyriausiuoju redaktoriumi, prezidento B. Obamos paskirtas nepriklausomos Jungtinių Valstijų vyriausybės agentūros, kuriai priklauso Amerikos balsas, Laisvosios Europos radijas ir Wordnet televizija, vadovu. Isaacsonas išgarsėjo kaip diplomato Benjamino Franklino, fiziko Alberto Ensteino ir politiko H. Kissingerio biografas. Pasiūlymą parašyti atvirą ir nepagražintą Apple įkūrėjo bei vadovo biografiją rašytojas gavo 2005 metais kartu su Steve`o Jobso pažadu duoti išsamius interviu, nedaryti kliūčių renkant medžiagą ir nieko neslėpti.

„Prisipažinsiu – prieš pasirodant knygai kiek skeptiškai žiūrėjau tiek į „Apple“, tiek į pačią S. Jobs'o asmenybę, bet skaitydamas ir versdamas visiškai pakeičiau nuomonę. S. Jobs'as buvo despotas, rėžęs tiesą į akis, vaidingas, linkęs į barnius, tačiau jis buvo vienas didžiausių mūsų eros kūrėjų. Jis pats nebuvo nei dizaineris, nei inžinierius, tačiau turėjo tokį produktų pajautimą, kurio iki tol pasaulis nebuvo matęs. Walter'is Isaacson'as knygoje kalbina daugybę su S. Jobs'u susijusių žmonių – pradedant jo buvusiomis merginomis, baigiant gydytojais, kurie persodino jam kepenis Memfyje. Ir visi jie kalba atvirai. Nors S. Jobs'as visada buvo linkęs viską kontroliuoti, tačiau į knygos turinį jis visiškai nesikišo – jis tik išrinko viršelį. Dėl to knyga labai atvira. Gaila, kad pats jos herojus nebesuspėjo jos perskaityti.“

Jei žiūrėsime į S. Jobso gyvenimą ir veiklą iš tokios perspektyvos, daug kas atsistos į savo vietą. Netaps pateisinama, bet taps suprantama lyginant su kitų pranašų paliktais pėdsakais. Bus aišku, kodėl Jobsas stengėsi palikti po savęs tvirtą „Apple“ bažnyčią (bažnyčios tveria šimtmečius, net nebeturėdamos pranašų), kodėl nelaikė savo vaikų tikraisiais paveldėtojais (pranašai nekuria dinastijų), kodėl net praėjus dešimtmečiams neišsižadėjo paniekos konkurentams ir pagiežos stojusiems skersai kelio (nes jie kitatikiai arba dar blogiau – oportunistai išvis be religijos).“

Ή μάλλον δεν μπορείτε να τον γνωρίσετε. Αλλά να είστε βέβαιοι ότι στριφογυρίζει μες στον τάφο του κάθε φορά που ο Γκάρεθ και η Υακίνθη συναντιούνται στην ετήσια –και επιεικώς φάλτσα– μουσική βραδιά των Σμάιθι-Σμιθ. Για την Υακίνθη κάθε λέξη του Γκάρεθ μοιάζει με πρόκληση, έτσι προσφέρεται να μεταφράσει το ημερολόγιό του, αν και τα ιταλικά της δεν είναι ακριβώς τέλεια. Kαθώς όμως μελετούν το μυστηριώδες κείμενο, ανακαλύπτουν ότι οι απαντήσεις που αναζητούν δεν βρίσκονται στο ημερολόγιο αλλά ανάμεσά τους… και ότι δεν υπάρχει τίποτα πιο απλό –ή ίσως πιο σύνθετο– από ένα και μοναδικό, τέλειο φιλί.
