The Basics of Technology

Technology is actually quite a simple thing that just seems complicated. When you think of “hi-tech”, you probably think of the computer or smartphone you are reading this on. But the chair you may be sitting on, the pencil you might being chewing on, even the table you are leaning on is all technology too. At some point in time, it was the latest and greatest thing that baffled some and others were determined to have.

So what is technology? Technology is often defined as “[a]ny highly technical or specialized technological application or equipment, especially one that involves complex electronics or computing.” For our purposes here at the HiTech Housewife, we will use this definition as our basis for comparison, though I really want to flesh it out a bit so we are all on the same page.

What is High Technology?

What is technology here at the HiTech Housewife? The HiTech Housewife is focused on anything that will make the human experience move forward using thoughtful, consistent outcomes. The goal is to improve the way your home works, making things smoother, easier, faster, better. Improve your flow, find places to save time, money, or energy. Eliminate waste, control excess, organize clutter. Make chores more fun and enjoyment last longer. Provide more opportunities for relaxation and fewer stressful experiences.

That is the goal of technology in this neck of the woods. And to find all of this help for you with minimal stress as well. No technical mumbo-jumbo. No engineer-speak. No need to google anything, all the information in one place, pulled together just for you from all over the interwebs so you don’t have to. Welcome to the HiTech Housewife, where you can sit a spell, have a cup of tea, and enjoy understanding how to live better, faster, and easier without frustration, just like your grandma should have taught you.
