The race kicked off at high noon at our host site, Lucky Strike Lanes! Teams had no idea what was in store, but were ready for some thrilling action and many were dressed the part.

Teams participated in an amazing Dark Shadows matching game where they had to guess the stars of the new Johnny Depp flick with the original cast of the 1960′s TV show. So fun! But wait, that’s not all… racers were treat to the delicious goodness Pitango Gelato as a reward for finding a checkpoint! Woohoo!

Teams had The Amazing Race fever when they were told they must sell One Brick key chains on the street. One Brick is the official charity of CitySolve Urban Race DC. All the proceeds of this activity went to benefit the good deeds of One Brick. SWEET!

The top three teams finished within 5 minutes of each other! What an exciting finish to an amazing race! We can’t wait until next year, Washington, DC!

Music is not the only thing that rocks in Austin… so do the nearly 200 CitySolve Urban Racers! From grannies to staches the old and hairy had a great time.

Kicking off at high noon, many CitySolvers bolted out of Aussie’s parking lot with visions of Miami on their minds while others casually cruised to get their clue packet. Either way, the racers had a great time. Teams found the new Bill and Melinda Gates building on UT’s campus (it’s still in construction), played corn hole (sponsored by Yelp.com) at The Dog & Duck Pub, help keep Austin’s streets clean by collecting recyclable materials then dropping them off at Ecology Action. (If you haven’t been to Ecology Action you gotta go. It’s a super rad recycling center in the heart of Austin: East 9^th Street and I-35, to be exact).

The winning team, Thunder Up, blazed the course in 1:43:15 beating over 8 minutes. Nice work, gang. You should take your talents to South Beach. You know CitySolve and LeBron will be there.

We can’t wait to return to Austin in 2013. If you can’t wait for CitySolve Urban Race to return to Texas, then check out CitySolve Urban Race San Antonio on September 29^th. It’s a surefire beat to have fun!

A special thank to the ultra swanky Hotel Monteleone for hosting CitySolve Urban Race New Orleans. If you’re ever in NOLA you must stop by the Carousel Bar for a sazerac! Mmmmm!

Teams solved the always clever CitySolve clues racing from the French Quarter where they had to sell gorgeous purple canteen water bottles. All of that money (nearly $700) went directly HandsOn New Orleans. HandsOn staff  were a HUGE help providing not only an amazing checkpoint, but also staff for the day. Big standing O for them!

Also, a special thanks to Yelp.com. They manned a Minute To Win It like game, but we can’t reveal it (not that we’re calling ourselves Chris Angel). Regardless, teams had a great time playing and learning a new party trick.
