Last Thursday, 4PL and I learned about the details of the recent T.I. arrest while at lunch and our reaction was I’m sure like most of you, one of shock but not surprise. If there is ever a time to use the shorthand “SMH” this is certainly it.

Raise your hand if you believed that following his last arrest for the attempted purchase of the small arms arsenal that T.I. would be scared straight. That after he allowed MTV cameras to follow him for months on his “Road To Redemption” soul cleansing, giving back to humanity tour/ reality show. Ehhh…In the end, it really didn’t matter did it. MTV still got the ratings and the buzz, too bad BET doesn’t still have Tiny under contract.

Speaking of Tiny. What’s really good with her? Is she not to blame here. I never really got into her reality show but from what I understand all she ever talked about what holding her man down while he was locked up and getting married. So this is how you hold your man down? I don’t care if it was his weed, ecstasy or lean it doesn’t matter. You see your dude with some substance that could potentially get you sent back you step in and say “whoa. Lets rethink this.” I mean they were so high they decided to make an illegal U-Turn while under the influence.

So lets get to the business. SOUND OFF: Do you believe T.I. is cooked or can he find a way to ease his way back into the good graces of his fans and showbiz? Although we’ve enjoyed the grace of her tennis game and lets be honest the voluptuousness of her body, Serena Williams lets face it hasn’t had much success with men. Most recently she ended a two-year stint with Common back in April, once again leaving the door for the Nation to persue the Fat Back Award recipient.

But what exactly turns her on and what kind of brother is she looking for? The Tennis champ recently chopped it up with People magazine and said not only is she 28-years-old, single and ready to mingle but actively in pursuit of Mr. Right. So what kind of game would a would-be suitor have to kick to land a date with Serena?

“Call me! It’s that easy,” said at a U.S. Open Player Party in New York last week. “Just pick up the phone and call me!”

Since Williams won’t be playing in this weeks U.S. Open due to a foot injury it might leave her some time to find that guy who she says must have strong family values.

“I’m looking for a guy who is close to his parents – his mom mostly because you can learn a lot about a guy by the way he treats his mom,” she says. “And someone who loves themselves because if they take care of themselves, they are able to take care of you.”

So what should you avoid if you don’t want to turn her off.

“I don’t like smokers, and of course people who disrespect their parents and families. Family is very important to me.”

Although she didn’t say much about what she’s look for between the sheets she did say although she’s “rough and tough” on the court, she hopes men aren’t intimidated by her.

“When people meet me, I’m different in person,” she says. “I’m very nice and easy going.”

So there you have it. The blueprint for landing one of the most eligible Fat Back Bachelorettes. Follow these simple rules and you too could land “a girl like Serena” (Kanye Voice) Don’t ever say I didn’t give you nothing. lol.

Once one of television’s top shows, American Idol has been left with quite a few question marks in recent years as viewership has plummeted. Then came the announcement that the show’s cornerstone, Simon Cowell was departing a vacancy that would be very tough to fill. Rumors abound as to who will fill Cowell’s spot and the latest might surprise you. The streets are buzzing that non other than Snoop Dogg might fill the big seat and the Doggfather is embracing the opportunity.

“I like that show. I think it’s missing some pizzazz and I can give it what it’s missing – if they get their bread together, cut me in and cut me out. I got to get paid,” he told WENN.

While I doubt there are many idol watchers in the Nation do you think you’d watch if Snoop was a judge? What does he know about good vocals? Then again what the hell did Paula Abdul or Ellen know about singing? On the flip side he might add a little hip hop flavor to the mix. SOUND OFF: Do you think Snoop Dogg would make a good “American Idol” judge.

Its no secret that although Kanye West is one of the most talented entertainers of our generation its very clear that speaks in a continuous stream of consciousness and was born without a self-edit button. Rarely does he think about the things that he says or does (ahhhem Taylor Swift?).

So when Mr. West sent out a Tweet over his new toy Twitter recently proclaiming Swizz Beatz as the Greatest Rap Producer of All Time like everything else with Kanye, you had to consider the source.

Last night I was pissed when I turned to ESPN and there was no Monday Night Football. I know its still the pre-season but still. Anyway I was channel surfing and got distracted leaving the channel on ABC’s Bachelor Pad. I think its like a reality love competition between past Bachelor/ Bachelorette contestants.

Anyway at the end they announced the new contestants for “Dancing With The Stars.” I never watched the show except when Mel B’s Fat Back was doing her thing. Apparently Brandy made it and of all people Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol Palin. Huh? I thought it was Dancing with the Stars not Dancing with the daughter of a clueless radical politician. I won’t watch but I’ll ask…SMASH or PASS?!

TV ONE’s ‘Life After’ Profiles Ron Artest

Last night, TV One‘s “Life After” series profiled the story of Ron Artest. The Queensbridge hoop star gave the cameras unprecedented access to his life beyond the court.

“There were a lot of things going on and I just was never interested much. Basketball was just so much more fun for me,” said Artest. “Queensbridge to me means youth. To me it’s just for kids. There’s no reason for me to ever go back, but I go back to support the kids. Make sure the kids are doing what they’re supposed to do. You don’t have to be a poor kid. You can be a rich kid. A kid is a kid.”

It was a pretty cool insight into the life and times of one of the NBA’s most interesting characters.

Over the past two weeks I definately spent more time blogging about Islam than I think I’ve ever spent talking or thinking about the religion in my entire life. The whole In-Close-Proximity-to-Ground Zero Mosque/ Cultural Center fiasco has just about run its course and we’re still not at a resolution. Now it seems opponents have dug far enough and uncovered some tax evasion and checkered past in developer, Sharif El-Gamal’s past.

As to be expected conservatives has somehow tried to hang the President by somehow connecting any decision or lack there of to his administration. The buzz surrounding the development has once again brought again silly rhetoric suggesting that somehow President Obama is a closet Muslim.

A poll released earlier this month by the Pew Research Center (which is not located near Ground Zero) CLAIMS one in five people, or 18 percent, said they thought Obama was Muslim, up from the 11 percent in March 2009. 34 percent of respondents were actually sane and identified the President as a Christian which was down from 48 percent in March of last year. I’m not sure if this means people are changing their minds or believe that Obama converted, maybe its just an indicator of the mental health crisis in this country who knows. I’ll be really confused if the numbers decrease next month.

Isn’t this the same President that these same critics were trying to align with his former pastor (indicating Christianity) the controversial Rev. Wright during his presidential campaign? So he was Muslim but went to church on Sundays. Man this guy is pretty religious huh? Maybe he studies Judaism as well in all that free time they give Presidents.

My natural response to all this is SO WHAT?! What if the President was a Muslim. While I doubt he would have gotten elected, many believed that a BLACK man couldn’t be a good candidate let alone win the Presidency just 2 years ago. I think we already proved that Race, Gender, Sexuality or Creed really doesn’t have a bearing on a person’s ability to be effective but given our personal prejudices it may effect our ability to be objective. With that said, SOUND OFF: If Obama WAS a Muslim, would you have voted for him as President.

Like few others, he’s already managed to step beyond the shadow of his rap pioneering father, Rev. Run and launch if not a music career at least a public one. MTV’s hokie “Runs House” not-so reality show gave him the exposure he needed and now he’s parleyed that into a record deal and a slew of endorsements.
