I recently just finished up and had approved a set of Avengers Assemble Sketch Cards for Marvel and Upperdeck. My set contains 24 cards with a few cards having some "friends" slide in such as Lyle Pollard and John Anderson. I've posted a few below and the Artist Proofs will go on the site soon.

Up next will be a set of Marvel Begins 2 Sketch Cards, a cover with the amazing Michael Golden, a special project from Dynamite, the wrap up of that "secret project" from over a year ago, and finally some more Femme-Noir.

Burning Bright Monster High Charity Drive

It's time to kick off our first Highburn Studios semi annual Burning Bright charity drive. This Burning Bright theme is Monster High and our charity is the Ronald McDonald House. For those of us in the studio who have children, we feel very strongly about what they do- they are amazing. If we can help just a little I know what it could mean to someone who has to be there for their child in the most difficult time of their life and although we never want anything to happen to our children at least there is a great organization like Ronald McDonald House looking out for those who need it and we want to help.

Our amazing Highburn artists have worked for DC comics, Marvel ,Image and many more along with many of their own independent properties and they have agreed to give their talents so that we can support this worthy cause with this drive.

How it works- our artists contribute artwork (everything from Monster High themed prints to original art and even custom art on request)- we add it to our store at www.highburn.com when you buy any piece of Burning Bright art at ANY price you are automatically entered for a drawing to win one amazing Monster High doll (Wave 2 Cleo, Toralei, Nefera De Nile, AND B&W Skull Shore Frankie). Proceeds go directly to the charity and you've gotten some great art and a chance to win an awesome doll as well, all while helping raise money to be donated to Ronald McDonald House! www.highburn.com and Facebook or Twitter Highburn Studios - keep checking for updates Burning Bright starts 1/16/12!

Well, unless you've been living under a rock, you know that Christmas has come and gone now. If you DO live under a rock, then I hope it is a nicely decorated rock that Santa brought you! So, from all of us here, we hope you had a Merry Christmas or Festivus or whatever you celebrate!

Well, for me, this has been a great December! I haven't been online much, mainly because I've been spending some time with the family...including its newest member, GAVIN POLLARD! That's right, my son came to us on December 13th, and he and his Mom are doing great!

I have done up SOME artwork, I'll post a little here, but mainly, I just wanted to boast about my recently muliplied family unit! Gwen is loving her life as a big sister! We are truly blessed, and I hope all of you out there have a great New Year's!

Well, it's been awhile since some art was posted up here, but, here's some Prismacolor playtime from me! The classic Spidey and the Catwoman were done at NC Comicon. Black Spidey and Batman were done while I was on...um...vacation. Yeah. I don't really do breaks.

Speaking of NC Comicon, I noticed that there was no mention of that masked wonder, the Amazing SPIDER-GWEN!! Where's the love for the LOUDEST and cutest lil' blonde at NC Comicon?

Either way, it was a blast, and I will be patiently waiting the arrival of my first son, Gavin! So, I may be on here less....or more. Who knows?

After a great weekend at the NC Comic Con we have all returned to our normal daily adventures. Even though we were all exhausted everyone left with a smile on there faces...well sorta. Lyle and I both have a potential new project in the works...nothing we can discuss now but it will be awesome when we can announce it. Brynn brought Nataly for her first ever Comic Con and she was a huge hit walking around as Batgirl...or BatNat as I've grown to call her. Lyle of course brought Gavin to his first Comic Con...but being impatient he hasn't given Gavin a chance to be born yet...nerd training and still in utero..LOL.
Anyway thanks to everyone for helping us close out the year of conventions with such a wonderful and friendly show. We will see you all next year on the con circuit...but stay tuned to our site..the best is still yet to come.

New York Comic Con

Gears of War 3!!!

Well, that time has finally come. That's right, the time when a video game yanks Mike and myself off of the internet for awhile in order for us to murder hundreds. That's right, Gears of War 3 dropped last Tuesday, and it has consumed us both. Me moreso, as I actually drew the accompanying piece for a contest held over on Deviant Art.

Aside from this, I'm going with renewed vigor in my pursuit to finish The Dead Don't Sleep issue #2, and then it's finishing up Tribulations #3 (just waiting on colors!). So, I'm plenty busy, with this and my ebay auctions (search for seller lylefire319 ), so don't think I'm slacking. Well, this past week, I have been!

Working our way towards NC Comicon, people! Hope to see you all there!!!

Well, here's some more new stuff! Some sketch cards, and an Iron Man piece! Hope you all like it! I figured the blog could use a little updating! Right now, I'm working on pages for The Dead Don't Sleep #2, and then I'll be working on the colors for Tribulations 3. I'd LIKE to have them both drop by NC Comicon, but, the downside of being the one-man art show on those two books means that I'm...well...the one-man art show on those two books! And, with the new addition on the way, I don't know how much time I'll have!

Either way, I hope everyone is doing well, and I hope you like what you see!

Well, I got me a set of cool grey Prismacolor markers at a STEAL, so I've been playing around with them, with moderate success. Went over my X-Men 1 cover first, then my ASM#648, and then I just finished up this Death of Spider-Man issue this morning. Little Gwen said she "liked it", so I guess it's professional quality. She has very discerning tastes.

On a sadder note, a gigantic hurricane has prevented me from making it to Ultimate Comics Anniversary party today. Pesky hurricanes. Me and the fam are wrapped up tightly in here, and I hope you and yours and keeping safe if you are in the way of this storm!

Yeah, I've been a busy bee this week (do people still say that, or is there internet-speak that has replaced it?). Two commissions, one 30 minute Spidey pic, and a LOT of work on The Dead Don't Sleep. Been fairly productive, and I just felt like sharing! Enjoy!

I know I've been AWOL from the blog, but it doesn't mean I've been absent from working. Lately I finished up a 50 page E-Man story for First Comics. Actually I started on it immediately after Heroes Con. Now that it's wrapped up I'm back on Femme-Noir and VS. Here is a sneak peek of E-Man.

I don't like Wolverine very much...but I'm growing quite fond of Deadpool! So, I used them both, and played around with it. Very fun!
