		<title>January is National Mentoring Month: How We Celebrated</title>
		<description><![CDATA[National Mentoring Month focuses attention on the need for mentors, as well as how each of us can work together to increase the number of mentors in our communities to assure brighter futures for our students.

From better grades to building confidence, Higher Achievement mentors have an essential role in our scholars' lives. 		<title>DC Metro Tackles Trash on MLK Day</title>
		<description><![CDATA[In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Higher Achievement DC Metro participated in the National Day of Service by picking up trash at the Ward 1 Achievement Center.  The enthusiastic group fared the cold weather while cleaning up the public space at the Marie Reed Learning Center and the neighborhoods of Adams Morgan and Columbia Heights.
