How to use Adsense cleverly on your blog

Placing Adsense on your blog is easy. A simple copy and paste action and you’ve setup your website to make money. However, you need to know when to place Adsense ads and where to place them and how to place them. This is what divides the successful Adsense website builders from the not-so-successful Adsense website builders. You need to use Adsense cleverly on your website.

Here are my findings you can use which has worked well for me to increase your Adsense income.

There has been a lot of discussion of people throwing-up when they see Adsense on a blog. They see the blog as a vehicle to earn income from Adsense and the blog itself has no value. After seeing some awful blogs.

What you need to do is place Adsense on your blog which blends with your website. Take away those borders and change the colors. Make it look as though it is part of your website. This will lessen the preconceived notion others have with Adsense blogs

Next, you need to post regularly to your blog. I have to admit that regularly means daily. I have tests that show missing a day or two with blogging, generally affects the traffic to your blog. So get some postings ready for times when you are busy.

With good daily updated content on your blog, people will not mind that your blog has Adsense on them. You have to understand that people are looking for information. If you give them what they want, they will return and click on some Adsense ads which are of interest to them in time.
Daily blogging with good content will make people forget your blog is built for Adsense income. They will appreciate that you are making money since you are spending so much time offering them content.

I find that using horizontal Adsense ads are very effective. These are called leaderboards which span across the website. I normally place these at the top of the website so that my regular readers will see them first thing when they visit.

I also find that ad links are very effective. These are Adsense ads that only show the category of ads and have no description. They look like menu bars. People need to click on the ad link, see a list of related Adsense and click on them again before you are paid.

Though it requires 2 clicks to generate Adsense income for you, I find that this sort of ad is very effective. The good thing is Google does not count ad links towards the number of Adsense ads you can have on your website (which is 3 by the way).

Next, if you’re writing a post on your blog, make sure that you place Adsense right after you mention an interesting point. It could be the revealing of a finding or some breaking news with your niche.

The reason is that people are drawn to your content at that moment and seeing related Adsense ads beside it will help the click thru rate.

For your last Adsense ad, I would suggest placing it on the left hand side of your blog. Preferably you will have a sign up box for a newsletter or mini-course there, and place your Adsense under it

We humans read from left to right and from top to bottom. The top left portion of your blog is viewed the most when they visit your blog. Make use of this space.

Use these suggestions to place your ads and increase the Adsense clicks. They have worked for me. I suggest you test out a lot of these and see for yourself.

There are many membership sites that sell Adsense templates that has good website content.step by step training and webhosting which you can start to use immediately for your Adsense business. Many of these are optimized with Adsense already so it will save you a lot of work. Learn how the templaes are structured and take action on your own blogs or websites.

1 Border and Background

Always use the background color of your webpage for your ad border

Edit yourself. Ruthlessly.

Don't promote yourself and your business or your books or your projects at the expense of the reader's attention.

Tracking:

Just like any other type of marketing, you won’t know what’s working the best for you on your web site unless you track the different things that you’re experimenting with. The google adsense blog just announced that images next to google adsense ads are not acceptable any longer!

They've received many emails from webmasters asking them if it's okay since it appears to increase CTR numbers by a long shot and decided to release a post about it. I had found this out earlier this month and taken down the ads on some of my sites because the google adsense team had contacted me about that.

Rumors were circulating the web that images with a visible border to the google adsense ads are acceptable but according to google these aren't either. They even released copies of what ads they consider breaking the rules:

This is a big downer to anyone in the Google adsense program that was getting massive earnings because of this seemingly little change.
Folks this was coming though advertisers probably complained about this since it wans in a sense "tricking" the user into noticing the users.

Most webmasters know that Adsense generates a sizeable source of additional advertising income. That is why most of them use it to go after high paying keywords. They have with them the lists that tells what the keywords are and have already used various methods of identifying them. And yet, after putting up these supposed-to-be high paying keywords into their pages, the money they expected to come rolling in is not really coming in.

What is it that they are doing wrong?

Having the pages is with the proper keywords is one thing. But driving visitors to those pages is another matter and often the factor that is lacking.

The thing is, to get visitors to your high paying keyword pages, you need to optimize your site navigation.

Stop for a moment and think about how visitors are using your website. After a visitor has landed on a certain page, they have the tendency to click on another page that sounds interesting. They get there because of the other links that appears on a page that they initially landed on. This is site navigation. It is all about enabling visitors to move about your site. And one way of maximizing your Adsense earnings.

A typical website have menu links on each page. The wording on these links is what grabs a visitor’s attention and gets them to click on one of the links that will take them to another page of that website. Links that have “free’ or “download” are oftentimes good attention-grabbers.

Also remember that it is all about location, location and location. Once the perfect attention grabbing description has been achieved, you have to identify the perfect spot on your page to position that descriptive link to your high paying page

There is nothing wrong with visiting other websites to see how they are going about maximizing their site navigation. “Hot pages” or “Most read” lists are very common and overly used already. Get to know the ones that many websites are using and do not try to imitate them.

Another way of doing it is to try and use different texts on different pages. That way you will see the ones that work and what does not. Try to mix things around also. Put links on top and sometimes on the bottom too. This is how you go about testing which ones get more clicks and which ones are being ignored

Let me share with you an idea....

Autoresponders work great at follow up, but have you ever thought of doing this one little change to make more money?

I recently went to one of the biggest internet marketing seminars last week in Los Angeles and one little tip they gave me, made a HUGE difference in my Adsense income in ONE DAY

I am no expert when it comes to Adsense, but this one little tip increased my revenue 6 times in one day from what I used to make.

In one day, I matched the income I made in the previous entire month. Also the tip I am about to give you may take some time to implement, but mostly, it is a copy and pasting dream come true, with not much programming or html knowledge needed. It also helps if you have a large email list too.

If you don’t know, Google has an advertising program for people called Adsense, where you place google ads on your site, and when people click on them, you get paid. If people click on them a lot, you get paid a lot.

So my single tip for today is to MONETIZE your autoresponders

If you use an email autoresponder for E-newsletters, ezines, or mini-ecourses, here is what you do

Instead of sending the newsletter content ALL in the email, which can lead to deliverability issues, just offer the intro first paragraph in the email, as a teaser and point the reader BACK to your content website with a link to continue reading and consuming the content. Build a page there with the entire email located back on your website and you monetize the content with Adsense links.

Which kind of Adsense links work best?

Studies and tests have proven, over and over that the biggest way to get clicks is to make the Adsense text boxes blend in to your text and actually make it look like it is a part of the content. So, make your titles Blue, like we see on clickable hyperlinks. Hyperlinks are blue and people are trained to click on blue links.

What is the best style of box to use?

The best box is the text ad unit which displays the 336 X 280 large rectangles with 4 or 5 links. Make the description text black and the bottom link a light grey color, but remember to make the top link blue, like a hyperlink color. Place these rectangles right into your content, right between paragraphs. You want it to blend in. You can place the rectangle 3 times on a page, so make sure you put it in spots that make sense, to maximize click behavior.

The Adsense robot will spider content, and offer appropriate ads which match content, so the person will click on the links, because of relevancy. Also, if your site is colored differently, then just make the Adsense boxes match the themes on your sites, so the content still blends in, the clickable links are matching in color

Doing this in one day put my Adsense income, which was hitting at .05-.30 a day… to $3.36 a day, with only one change. I know that is not much for one website… but what if you had 5, 10, 70 or 100 websites? Start thinking in terms of lots of websites and lots of autoresponder follow ups.

What if you had 10, 20, or 50 follow up messages. Now you can make money over and over again, and send your leads clicking through your content letter pages making your income explode

If they were not going to buy anything in the first place, at least you are getting your money back for the possible cost of the lead acquisition, right? Now it becomes advertising that pays for itself and I like that!

Now do this for many websites, and it could be a huge difference in Adsense income. It might be a small bother to take the time to do it, but just sit down and do one or two hours of updating a day, and in no time, your monthly Adsense revenue could be as much as your regular job revenue.

The Six Steps

1. Remove the outline boxes from your ads. It sets them apart and cuts down on the flow.

2. Match the background color of the ad to that of your site. I gives the ad more of a customized look.

3. Match the color of the ad text to the color of the text on your site. Again, it adds to the continuity of the site.

4. Incorporate the ad into (or between) some of the lines of text in your article. Your visitor is more likely to click through if they do not have to scroll around to get to the link.

5. To get relevant ads, try to use the key words in the title of your article and intersperse them through the first couple of paragraphs.

6. Be very careful before adding the big commercial ads to your site. Unless you are talking specifically about products they offer, you won't make much profit there. As you can see, I am slowly removing that type of ad from my site, starting with the least profitable first.

Here's how Google calculate the earning for your GA Account.I hope this could be useful for y'all. It's my tipstrick for calculating my earnings :

Clickthrough rate (CTR) is the number of clicks an ad unit receives divided by the number of times the ad unit is shown (impressions).

Effective CPM (eCPM) is cost per 1000 impressions. From a publisher's perspective, CPM is a useful way to compare revenue across different channels and advertising programs. It is calculated by dividing total earnings by the number of impressions in thousands.

Impression is the number of times an ad is displayed on Google or on sites or products in Google's ad network. A page impression is counted each time an ad unit is displayed on a publisher's site. Page impressions are used when calculating reports for Adsense publishers, rather than ad impressions

Earnings is total money that would be given by Google Adsense for publishers who participate in their affiliate programs.

Earnings Per Click (EPC) actually is average cost per click that would be given to publishers depends on the sum of the click, page impressions and advertiser's bid. However, it's still be a Google Adsense Secret.

Calculation :

CTR = (Clicks / Impressions) * 100

EPC = Earnings Per Click

eCPM = (Earnings / Impressions) * 1000
eCPM = CTR * EPC * 10

Earnings = eCPM * Impressions / 1000
Earnings = CTR * EPC * Impressions / 100

Eg.: Today you've got 9 clicks for 2017 impressions. (Just for sample, the EPC was 0.04)

Increases AdSense Revenue 200% by filtering MFA sites

This might not be something new to you, but it's definately a good news to those AdSense beginners trying to maximize the earnings

Two weeks ago, I discovered a great site showing the MFA sites' url. I added the links to my Competitive Ad Filter since there was no url before. I check my AdSense revenue daily and found out that my earnings were increasing. Since the number of clicks were not increasing, then, I realize that by filtering MFA sites I can earn even more per click. I'm always amazed by how top MFA sites like best4sites[dot]net, all-free-info[dot]com, click-here-4-best[dot]info showing at top of my ads.

I started to check each and every AdSense links on my sites and filtered all the MFA sites. Of course, you can't click on your own AdSense links. However, you are allowed to right click on your own AdSense ad title to find out the destination url of the ads. And add them to the Competitive Ad Filter. I would also suggest you all to add tinyurl[dot]com and denmark[dot]com to your filter list since many MFA sites love to use these services to hide their urls.

To AdSense team: please increase the limit of URL of the Competitive Ad Filter. The current 200 urls limit is not enough since the MFA sites are increasing at a very fast pace (due to your kindness for allowing these no-content-but-only-adsense sites showing AdSense).
