Did you check out my post yesterday on gmail multiple log in? If not, you should. I'm sure you would love that extra gmail feature. Today I just want to talk about how I maintain the performance of my PC/laptop so that it runs as smoothly as the day I first bought it without that "heavy" feeling. This is very relevant to me as I often install and uninstall software, for trying out purposes. I am no professional when it comes to fixing my PC, so I finally got Advanced SystemCare by Iobit.com to do the optimizing job for me. It's totally FREE but of course there is also the professional version. The FREE version was good enough for me except updating was a bit of a problem as I had to uninstall the current version and reinstall the new version. So, after a year using the FREE version with my PC in great condition, I decided to get the professional version recently. PC maintenance now is done automatically as I have set it to perform computer care when the system is idle. Updating too has been a breeze as it is regularly updated just like an antivirus software. Logging in multiple gmail accounts - Continuation

Ok, here's how to do it, assuming you are using Firefox
1. Install the greasemonkey add-ons here.
2. Get the userscripts for logging in multiple gmail accounts here. Just click install.
3. Log into any of your gmail account.
4. This is what you will see on top of the page:

5. You can then use the drop down menu to add account, remove account and sign out.
And, that's it! Cool to me because now I can gain access to all my accounts, one at a time but without logging in and out ..

If you are using Firefox, there are many things that you can do to change the look of gmail through the Greasemonkey adds-on. So, what does Greasemonkey do? Greasemonkey allows you to customize the way a webpage displays using small bits of JavaScript. By installing the proper scripts .. walla .. you get a different look of a webpage like gmail. There are loads of scripts available that you can choose from. But I have particularly used Google-Account Multi-Login. And its simply because I have a few gmail accounts that I would like to check regularly. From one google account, I can simply go to another without logging out... How? Wait for my next post

Mac your Windows

Mac users would often ridicule any attempts made by Windows users to make their Windows look like Mac. They would say, "throw away your Windows and get a Mac if you like the look so much!" Well its your choice really. You can make your Windows look like Mac but stick to Windows functionality using FlyakiteOSX. I've tried it in my other laptop and yeah .. it looks like Mac .. If you suddenly feel like changing back to Windows, the uninstaller is there. I've tried doing that too and without any problem I was back to Windows appearance. It's been quite some time since my last post. Very busy as usual but I'm glad to see new visitors popping up once in a while. Wish I could spend more time writing and sharing with you my latest findings on great and free tools that can help improve your computer/laptop usage experience. Introducing Q-Dir! Lately my work requires me to move from one directory to another, opening different types of files. With Explorer its just impossible for me to do this without getting a headache. I found Q-Dir which allows me to look at all directories in my laptop at the same time. It sure makes my life easy and my work was completed in much shorter time. If you are using Firefox, you must not miss this extension. It is called Google Redesigned. View a few of the screenshots and more here.
Enjoy the different look of Gmail .. soothing to the eyes. This extension solves some of the problems faced using user scripts via the Greasemonkey extension or style via the Stylish extension to bring about the same effect. The installation link is here.

Update on Evernote

I've recently started using both the web-based and desktop version of Evernote for windows. It's loaded with useful features that's more that I can ask for. There is also the Premium version with extra capacity loading capacity but the free version is already good enough for me. First you register for an account here. Then you download the desktop version. Whatever notes you have taken using the desktop version can be easily set for synchronization with the web-based version. Other platforms are also available via iphone and windows mobile. As I mentioned in my earlier post, Evernote simplifies my work keep my notes organized and with the web-based version, I can now access my notes from other computers or laptops. A New Approach in Note Taking

Today I'm going to introduce you an application that I can't do without that is known as EverNote. Simply said EverNote allows me to jot down anything that comes in mind whenever I am using my laptop. Just by clicking on the EverNote icon, I will be directed to a new page with choice of text note, ink note, to do list, contacts, expenses, shopping list, to name a few. You must go through the application yourself to find out the rests. Not only that, whenever I am searching for information on the internet, I can use EverNote to capture it whether in the form of text or graphics which is better known as web clips. Even the source web-page is captured in case I feel like going back to it in future. EverNote helps me a lot in my work. At times I would even use it to jot down short notes in a meeting. That way, I can easily refer to the notes whenever I need to especially since EverNote has a feature that allows me to search through text, images, notes and more. I can even share the notes with my friends via email. Ok, is EverNote FREE? Like the rest of the software or services in this blog, EverNote is indeed FREE. The current version is 2.2 and can first be downloaded with all features enabled for 60 days before it automatically switches over to the full FREE version without the extra features. To be frank, I don't see the necessity to have the extra features, at least when it concerns my work. If you would like to take a look at the difference between the two, click here. It has been quite some time since my last post. I have been very busy lately managing my life. Still, I would like to share with you a FREE PDF-Viewer with great features. Well at least I've been enjoying myself using it especially once in a while when I was asked to review articles that are in PDF form. With this FREE PDF-Viewer, I can scribble on the article and write whatever comments necessary on the page itself. This PDF-Viewer is a product of Tracker Software and is actually known as PDF X-Change Viewer. PDF-XChange Viewer is said to be smaller, faster and more feature rich than the Adobe Reader which has until now been the Reader of choice for PDF files. I can verify that claim because I've been using PDF-XChange Viewer for quite sometime now. PDF-XChange Viewer is free for Private and Commercial use, provided not bundled with other software or for financial gain. And guess what? The PRO Version is also available if you need extra features and functions. For me, the FREE Version is good enough. FREE Personal Information Management (PIM)Tool

A personal information manager or PIM is a necessary tool if you want to keep yourself organized, whether in your professional or personal daily lives. I personally can't do without it. It serves as a reminder for all my appointments and daily activities at home and at work. I've tried several PIMs, trying to find the best that can fulfill my requirements. I like PIMs that allows me to plan ahead of time for my future activities, preferable color coded so that I can see the overall picture of all my activities for the month or year. The FREE PIM that I am currently using is VORG Express, developed by Vertikal Systems. It comes with great features for a free software. I've compared it with other freeware and paid PIMs before choosing it. I find VORG Express definitely superior than other freeware PIMS and at par or even better than other paid PIMs available in the market, for personal/individual use. Why don't you try VORG Express yourself. Download VORG Express.
