Well hello there! Welcome back to my blog and if you're new here, I'm Cathy. I was contacted by Glassesshop.com back in August for a collaboration in doing a review in return for trying out a pair of eyeglasses. The website is very easy to brows through. It's user friendly with categories as well as a search bar to find just what you are looking for. They offer non-prescription (fashion), prescription glasses and glasses frames. They also offer Prescription Sunglasses on their website. I picked my frames and sent in my RX & PD prescription, easy peezy.

The frames I chose are the Flynn Round not to be mistaken for the Bruns Round (which are very similar but different sizing). The Flynn Round comes in three colors: black, crystal, and tortoise. I picked crystal. It is a beautiful clear acetate frame with gold hardware. It is very classy and I am in love with them. I have been wearing them for the past four months!

♡Packaging:
The glasses came in a grey magnetic eyeglass case, along with a cloth to clean your lens. The case as seen in my thumbnail and in the following photos is a hard-case and fits nicely in my backpack for school.

Again, the frames themselves are made of Italy acetate and appear clear (crystal) with gold nose pads, bridge and temples. They are so beautiful and stylish.

♡Results:
The frames are very comfortable to wear. The nose pads are easy to adjust and the bridge sits comfortable on my the bridge of my nose. When wearing them for too long I do get the slight glass imprint above my cheeks (I have puffy cheeks) but nothing too noticeable. The prescription lenses and the frames together are very light weight and have caused me no trouble within the pass four months of owning the eyeglasses.

♡Thoughts:
I am giving the Flynn Round glasses a huge 4.5 heart approval. I really like the product. Shipping was fast and Catherine from GlassesShop.com was very nice. They're comfortable, stylish, lightweight, and fits my face well. What else can I ask for in a pair of eyeglasses. I wear them in class, sometimes at work and when I drive at night. Very universal with or without makeup and any outfit I wear. The only thing preventing it from a full 5 stars is, it is an online shop. So it makes it difficult to try on the glasses physically. However, they do offer a try on method by posting a picture of yourself and trying on the glasses. I love the Clear Flynn Round eyeglasses so much that I want to get it in black as well!

I used to see a few youtuber's put these on to keep their bangs out of their face. I thought they were really cute, so I went ahead and bought one. It works well but I ended up giving it to my mom because she wanted it. Make sure you don't forget to take it off before you leave the house. My mom ended up going to the market with it on and had no idea! Her facial expression was too funny when I saw her come home and asked her why she had it on her head.

I love using water decals. They are really easy to use and if you misplace it you can just dip your nail in water and re-arrange it. If you haven't tried them then I recommend you give them a go.

These are really cute and fit on the nail perfectly. They come in several different colors and other bow shapes. As you can see in the photo, one of them came chipped. I did not contact BPS because I didn't find it to be a big deal but if I did decide to contact them, they probably would have resent a new set.

I have yet to try this out but I did see some of the photos other people uploaded on the website and they look pretty awesome. It seems quite easy to use as well.

I can spend all day looking at the nail plates on this website. They have so many different kinds at varying prices. So far I've only used one of them but cannot wait to try out the others. The photos up on the website look amazing.

DIY | EASY DIY Essentials for Back To School 2017 (BTS)

Schooooool???? I know what you're all thinking... "No she didn't just remind us we have to go back to school next month" uhhh yes I did! I don't know about you but I always dreaded summer (vacations in general) because I was always so bored! Back then we had social media but it consisted more of findapix, friendster, xanga, myspace (not what it is now), and AIM. I had a barely there camera friendly flip phone. Not to mention my mom gave me a ONE HOUR timer on the computer daily... Not much of a vacation back in the days. So I was the kid that was overly excited for back to school. I loved shopping for school supplies, new outfits and of course seeing my friends again!

It's pretty different compared to today right? With so many social media platforms it's easier to keep in touch with friends and actually enjoy the vacations but it all has to come to an end at some point and I am here to burst your bubble.. ready for it?... ♥ the Binder Reminder Insert | 01
The first DIY is really simple and really basic. I'm bringing it back old school -do people still do this? They probably do right?- I used to love decorating the cover of my binders. I mostly had pictures of friends on my binder. Every few months the pictures would change and people would look for their picture. For this, one I cut out a few images from magazine pages but you can do the same, use poloroids (tumblr look), make a collage online and print or do all the above.. DO YOU!

I added post-it's to this insert because let's face it.. everyone forgets which class they're supposed to be in, where and what period they have it. This is a simple and friendly reminder for your schedule and you can change it once you got your schedule & routine down. Simple right? On to the next...

♥ the Post-It Dashboard | 02
This DIY is a space saver! I am a hoarder of post-its, just ask any of my friends that has been to my house. If there is a cute sticky notes pad at Target or Daiso you can bet I'm making my way there and it's in my cart the second I step into the store. With so many post-it pads how can a person just pick one or two to put in their pencil bag.. it's just absurd to me. So I used to stuff my pencil bag -let's be real here.. we all know I use a make-up bag instead- with pencils, pens, highlighters, erasers, candy, paper clips and to top it off post-its. You know the bag got bulky.. so this dashboard is a life saver and a space saver, plus it looks cute and functional what else do you need in your life =)

♥ the Magnetic Bookmarks| 03
My favorite DIY in this series! OMG have you ever had that moment where you stuck a regular bookmark into your book then later on went to open your book and still lost your place? Happens every time... until, I discovered magnetic book marks! Can we all take a second and thank the person who came up with this idea -5 second silence- 1--2--3--4--5. Okay, I'm sure they will appreciate that.. now there are many cute magnetic bookmarks at target, urban outfitters, barnes & noble but you know what's better? Making them yourself. There are a million and one ways -probably more- to customize your own bookmark. You can make it small, medium, large, extra large. You can use printables, scrappbook paper, draw something, your own pictures, poloroids, etc. The best part? You WILL NOT lose your place =). You can place it on any side of the page.. even on the side in the middle -because I always stop reading in the middle of the page- and it won't fall out. Isn't that great?

DIY | Easy Phone Cases 2017

Okay, now who doesn't love a good phone case? I love a cute phone case but trying to find a place to store my phone case collection is a bit difficult. Especially, since I'm not a fan of throwing things away and tend to keep EVERYTHING. So for this DIY, I made three different inserts using acetate sheets and a few other materials to switch in and out using ONLY one phone case.

For the first insert, I used the Distress Inks by Tim Holtz and I have to say they are my favorite. I pressed the ink pad onto a piece of acetate sheet, added water and began brushing it onto a piece of paper. I made another design as well and this one is my absolute favorite. I went ahead and pressed the ink pad onto the acetate sheet again, added water, but instead of brushing it onto the paper.. I flipped the acetate sheet directly onto the paper and blended it out. I know the directions are a bit all over the place but my youtube video shows you exactly what I did =).

After all that, I traced some words onto a piece of acetate sheet, cut down to the size of my phone case. I saw a shirt with the same words and thought they would look cute on a phone case.

For the second insert, I decided on making a marble design. Starting with a container of warm water, I picked out three polishes that complimented each other well. I began letting the polishes drip in various places onto the water. Work quickly or else the polishes dry and it'll be harder for them to grip onto the acetate sheet. I used the watercolor as the backing but you can use them clear. Most of the time I like the back of my phone to show through the case but sometimes a full opaque case works too.

This last insert is a set that I made with one of my best friends in mind. I combined the use of a sharpie and nail polishes for this one. I took a phrase and split it into two that would fit both cases when combined. I then took the nail polishes I had on hand, drew on both donuts and sprinkles. I used the same watercolor as a backing for better pictures but this design looks great alone with a clear case.

NOTD | Shattered Glass Nail Look

Whew!! I did it.. I got up and started on this post. The first post back is a nail look, yay! I've been seeing this nail look around for quite some time since Christmas, 2016 and have been wanting to recreate it ever since. I finally received the products, plus had time to do my nails.. so why not a youtube video and post right?

This nail look is really easy and I would rate it as beginner for nail art. It may appear intricate just because of the pieces on the nails and the word glass but I assure you, there is no glass involved in this look! NO GLASSES WERE HARMED FOR THIS LOOK! SAVE THEM FOR THE WINE!

I love that the Essie Gel Couture line does not need a UV light or a base coat. I don't know about you but I break the #1 rule when I do my nails. A lot of the times, I do not use a base coat. Yes! You read that right.. no base coat for this gal. Depending on the brand and nail polish, base coats ruin the application for me. My nails are still pretty healthy for not using a base coat, plus some rules are meant to be broken right? So, when I read "no basecoat needed" I was like, "Yaaas girl.. toss it in the bag" I was shopping at ULTA at the time.

Before getting started, make sure to trim your foil into small pieces to fit your nails. I tried to cut them into various sizes. BTW, if you can't wait for the foil to get in the mail head to your local .99 cents only store or dollar tree and pick up an iridescent/holographic cellophane roll. It works just the same.

I love that the foil changes colors in different lighting and angles. In some forms its a pretty green and in others a nice pink.

I'm on Youtube?!?? | Am I Back?!

Hello!! It's been a long time right? I would say approximately two years!! OMG! I can't believe I've been gone so long. Where have I been? I have been working at a preschool center as one of the classroom teachers and my camera broke back in 2015. A friend bought me a new camera last year as a graduation gift but I couldn't find the inspiration to come back. A lot of the items I had planned on reviewing were already half used (who wants pictures of used products.. uhh no-one!). Working took most of my time where I would go home and just take a long Cat nap! Then I would wake up for dinner and go back to sleep. Basically I would be stressed out and overly exhausted!

Enough of that... Why am I here now? I decided to try to get back into it.. I miss reviewing products and doing makeup looks when I had the time. This time it's different and I need your support. I will be trying to keep this blog updated with a post when I can but I have started a YOUTUBE channel! Hellllooo!! It has been a really long time hasn't it? I will have a 'life update' post soon about where I've been and what I have been up to. Any-who.. I will be reviewing the InstaWave by KISS. In case you are not familiar with the product, it is an automatic rotating curler that claims to give instant long lasting curls. My job here is to let you know if the product lives up to the company's claims.

I love curling my hair, I usually do it without heat but there are definitely times where using a curling iron comes in handy. Let me begin with some details about my hair. It is straight, dry, thick, color treated, layered and recently chopped from long layers to medium length with layers. Now that you have a few details about my hair let's get started with the actual review.

♡Packaging:
The curler is well made. The product is black and white and the handle is easy to hold (not too wide not to narrow). The barrel is 1 inch thick but I find it to be a bit too short for longer hair. When I first used it I had long hair (down to my waist) and I found it hard to curl the entire strand. That is probably the only issue I have with packaging. I hope they come out with different sizes and lengths in the future.

Comes in the standard box with a quick guide and manual.

Diamond-Ceramic Ionic Barrel: A little shorter than my Galaxy s5 and also gives healthy, shiny styling results with less frizz and damage

Curl Dial: Grabs your strand of hair while it is rotating.

Power Indicator Light: Red means it is charging, blue means it is ready to be used

Directional Switch: Turns the dial left or right. Great for people that like to rotate the direction of your curls.

Power and Temperature Settings: Has two temperature settings (low & high). The high temperature is 420. The curler also turns off automatically after it has been on for 90 minutes.

Swivel Cord: Prevents tangling of the cord and offers more control of the curler.

♡How-to Directions:

Hold InstaWave vertically
Simply place section of hair on the InstaWave curling rod
Touch the Curl Dial either left or right, and the InstaWave instantly and automatically catches and curls the hair
Hold for 5-10 seconds, hold longer for tighter curls and less for beachy waves
Pull the InstaWave down straight down, letting hair out
**Tip: Switch between curling right and curling left to create the most natural looking curls

♡Results:
I have to say that the barrel gets really hot (a ton of steam comes off from it), therefore, after releasing the curl it will also be hot (give it a few sections before touching your curls). I mentioned the steam previously, however, it does not effect the use of the products or the outcome of my curls. Even though the barrel is 'really hot' and a ton of steam comes out, it does not burn my hair at all. It also took me about 30 minutes to do my hair using the InstaWave. That's about 10 minutes more than using a regular curling iron for me (I would rather spend more time on my make-up than my hair). I always use a heat tamer spray (Tresemme).

This was the result from the first time I used the product when I had longer hair. I feel like my curls looked more like loose waves and I had to curl in two different places in a single strand (middle and towards the scalp).

My current medium length hair and layers. It was much easier to curl since my hair was shorter. The entire strand would wrap around the barrel with ease each time giving a more defined and tightened ribbon curl.
I also ran my fingers through my hair (top right). The curls stayed intact and loosened up nicely without losing too much shape.

♡Pros:

Swivel cord

Does not burn hair

Gives options of a natural or defined curl

♡Cons:

Barrel is short
Slow
Piercing sound when plugged in and in use

♡Thoughts:
I decided to give the KISS Instawave the 3.5 heart approval. I really like the product and enjoy the results, however, there are a few key points that I cannot over look. For the current length of my hair (slightly pass underarms), this product is great. However, for longer hair it is a little harder to work with. It is also a bit slow in my opinion. Not that I want the dial to rotate 3x fast (no-one wants their hair to get tangled and stuck in the rotating dial) but it could be a bit faster. I also noticed that you have to do more sections than you would with a normal curling wand or iron. If you grab a wide section the heat will not distribute evenly. The thick section will also get tangled below the dial and get stuck (smaller sections are better to work with). Aside from the cons.. there are a few pros. One of the claims was that it gives long-lasting curls and YES IT DOES. My curls lasted for up to 3 days (probably would have lasted longer if I didn't wash my hair). That is also without any hair products, aside from my heat tamer and dry shampoo. I love that it heats up fast as well as does not burn my hair with it's temperature of 420.

I also cannot over look the piercing sound that it makes, especially when it's right next to your ear. I did contact KISS about the issue and their response was "Regarding the sound the InstaWave makes when it is plugged in, we are aware of the high pitch sound caused by the circuit to drive the motor. However, it has no safety issue!" Since, it has no safety issues I don't have a problem using it but the sound does get a bit annoying after a while, preventing me from choosing it over another iron.

With more practice I am sure I will be able to cut the time from 30 minutes down to 15. It definitely takes some getting use to and the first time will not be a breeze, however, with practice anything will become easier. If you have medium-short hair and want beautiful, long lasting curls I recommend this product but if you have longer and thicker hair you may want to wait to see if they come out with a longer barrel in the future. It's not that it's terrible for longer hair but it is more time consuming (double the sections and the barrel is a bit too short to be able to wrap the entire strand).

Makeup by One Direction Review, Photos & Swatches

♡Up All Night Beauty Collection:

"I wanna stay up all night and jump around until we see the sun".. don't we all? I am assuming from the title you guys already know what this post is about. I am a bit late on this post since the collection has been out since the holidays but here is my honest review. The collection contains four different sets and I believe they recently came out with a set of lipglosses.

♡Packaging:
The collection comes in a keepsake metal tin with a grey brick pattern on the outside. The tin comes in a clear sleeve with a One Direction photo on the front as well as their signatures. On the inside of the tin there is a guide with 3 different eye looks and a description of each product under the lid. There's also a plastic setting inside where the products are placed in but can be removed to use the tin however you like.

♡The Makeup:
The "Up All Night" collection contains the blues and pinks out of the three tins. The products look very promising in packaging. You basically have most of what you need for a complete make-up look.

♡Eyeshadow:

You get a single palette that contains four shadows and one cream shadow/liner. The shadows have a shimmer/frost overlay on top. I was a bit disappointed about this because I thought that it would be the same throughout the entire eyeshadow. With the overlay it is quite pigmented but when I swatched the product the second time, it wasn't very pigmented at all and it was quite chalky. The same goes for the 'glitter' cream shadow/liner. The glitter is only an overlay (meaning it's only on the top layer).

♡Jumbo Crayon:
The jumbo crayon in the collection can be used as a cream shadow, liner and to fill in the tattoo stencils. It is quite creamy and pigmented, it should be set with an eyeshadow though so that it does not smudge or fade. "Stand Up" is really similar to ELF's Jumbo pencil in 'Like a Boss".

♡Mascara:
I didn't have any high hopes or expected too much from the "Little Black Dress" mascara, however, it isn't too bad. The formula for this shadow is very light. It doesn't seem to weigh down my lashes too much. It also adds a little length to my lashes but does not add any thickness to them. This mascara is certainly not waterproof. This would not be a go to mascara for me.. since I prefer waterproof.

♡Lipstick:
"I Should've Kiss You" is a matte bubble gum pink lipstick with a blue undertone. It's a bit difficult to apply since it is not creamy. With this lipstick you have to make sure that you exfoliate your lips really well as well as keep them hydrated. Due to the matte-ness and shade of this lipstick it will definitely enhance any imperfections on your lips.

♡Lipgloss:
The 'Taken' liquilights glow gloss is probably my favorite product out of the collection. It's a gorgeous pink glitter lipgloss. It isn't too much glitter and the gloss is build-able for a sheer look or a more intense look. The cool thing about this lipgloss is that it glows neon orange. The downside is that it only glows under a UV blacklight, which is pretty lame. It would proboably be better if it glowed in the dark without a black light. This will probably be one of my go to glosses for this upcoming spring.

♡Nail Polish:
"Na Na Na" is a sheer metallic aqua blue varnish. I believe the swatches below were 3-4 coats. It is a really pretty shade and fits in really well with the whole collection.

♡Stencils:
This 5 piece stencil set can be used anywhere on your body. You can use the jumbo crayon or the shadows to get the pattern. I haven't tried out any of the stencils but I like the diamond sheet the most. I like that they offer two different sizes for each design. Each stencil is probably the same size as a deck of cards.

♡Pros:

Colors compliment each other well
Fun to play with
Great gift for huge 1d fans

♡Cons:

Pigmentation isn't great

♡Thoughts:
The "Up All Night" collection received the three heart approval. I do like the keepsake tin but that isn't the important part of the collection. The most anticipated section of this collection is the makeup and I have to say that the beauty products did not live up to my expectations. If you have been following my blog for a while then you know that brands and prices don't mean much to me as long as the make-up is great. This set just didn't do it for me. The only products I see myself using is the lipgloss and the nail polish. I feel like this set is better as a gift or for someone that likes to play dress up. This collection is fun with the blues and pinks but I would have preferred one of the more wearable collections. As I stated previously, the small palette would have been better if the shimmer was through the shadow and not just a pretty overlay. The lipstick was a bit too drying and unflattering for my taste. As for the mascara and jumbo crayon, I didn't have any issues with them but they just did not wow me. The stencils are a nice added bonus but are not necessary. As I said before, this set is great for someone that enjoys dress up or even someone that wants to slowly ease into bolder shades.

Limited Edition "The Looks Collection" Make-Up by One Direction (Info & Giveaway)

1) I've had ELF's Blush in 'Pink Passion' for a while now. It's a beautiful matte bright pink that can be toned down or built up. It's a great spring & summer blush. It's only $3 but wait till the site has 50% off on their studio line (makes it $1.50). 2) I did a review a while back on Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 'Romantic' and I loved it, still do. It looks beautiful on the lips and the color is great. It's a staple in my purse this spring. 3) Tarte's Lights, Camera, Flashes Mascara isn't my favorite for my top lashes because the formula seems to weigh my lashes down. However, I love it for my lower lash line. The bristles are long enough to coat just enough product on my bottom lashes to make them noticeable without giving me spidery looking lashes. 4) I wrote a review on Maybelline's The Rocket Mascara shortly after it came out. I wasn't a huge fan of it because the wand was so big but I have been loving it recently. This product separates my lashes and makes them appear thicker. It doesn't lengthen my lashes though, so I pair it with my They're Real mascara by Benefit. 5) I was shopping around for products for a new skincare routine and Mario Badescu's 'Seaweed' caught my attention. The cleansing soap is very gentle on my skin. My face feels smoother and appears brighter. 6) I received a sample of their Seaweed Cleansing Lotion with my purchase and I love it. The cleansing lotion is basically a toner. I like it because it's really gentle on my skin and doesn't dry my skin out. It is actually a non-drying, non-alcohol toner. My skin feels great after I use the toner, so great in fact that I am planning on purchasing a full size. 7) I also bought their Seaweed Night Cream. I love night creams. I use to really like Olay's night cream (have you read my review?) but I feel like they changed the formula and doesn't seem to work for me anymore. This night cream is thick like all night creams and a little goes a long way. It's also a little pearly like their cleansing soap and really makes my skin feel great the next morning.

Well that's it for my monthly favorites aka my current obsessions. There are a lot of tv shows I am currently obsessed with but if I named them all we would probably be here forever. I've also been keeping my make-up quite basic lately. My everyday look would include foundation, concealer, blush, highlighter, mascara and of course my brows filled in. If I want a little bit of color on my lids I will just add a little blush on them. For my lips, I have been using tinted lip balms lately. I don't have to worry about lipstick on my teeth and they add a nice natural tint to my lips. The products on my favorites this month are part of my everyday routine.

Ipsy - Beauty Rocks (April 2014)

Hello Hello! It's been a few weeks ><. Sorry for not keeping up with my blog, I've had a few issues with my internet and school work. Spring break flew by.. it didn't even feel like a break. Anyhow, I received my Ipsy bag (of course you know that from the title). The colors that I received were perfect for me and they are all products I would use. Let's just get into it shall we?

Ipsy's April bag theme is Beauty Rocks. Although the theme is 'beauty rocks' I feel like the products I received help give a spring look or a young and brightened fresh face type of look. The theme made me think of a more smokey rocker chic type look.

♡The Bag: April
This month's bag is deep blue with a silver record on the front. The graphic on the bag is suppose to be a record player or old school turntable type thing in my opinion. The length of the bag is slightly shorter than usual but the height of the bag is about an inch or so higher.

One of the products I received was lollitint from Benefit Cosmetics and retails at $30. It's a orchid/pink lip and cheek tint. It is really pretty but it's also really sheer when blended out. The other issue with this product is that it can stain in the same place you applied it if you don't work quickly to blend it out. When I say quickly I mean immediately after application. It's really pretty on both the cheeks and lips. If you didn't receive it in your bag or have not tried it, go ahead and head to the store and test it out. If you're familiar with posietint, also by benefit, I can say that this product is not as runny as posietint but it is as sheer.

I also received City Color's White Gold shadow and highlighter. It's a beautiful white mousse with gold sparkles. It's only $3.99 and a little goes a long way. I think it's gorgeous on the inner corners and inner half of the lower lash line. I also tried it as a highlighter but it's a bit too shimmer in my opinion.

♡Urban Decay: Received Mini Size

In my bag was also Urban Decay's 24/7 Velvet pencil liner. If you're familiar with the 24/7 liners then you already know that the price point is $20 each. I did a comparison with the Black velvet and another 24/7 liner in Zero (seen below). I think that the velvet liner is much darker and 'matte/velvet' just like the title it has been given. It is really creamy and easy to smoke out. They only have one color at the moment, I hope they add more colors.

I am already a huge fan of Kiss lashes and these lashes are on the top of my list. They are only $3.99 and they look and feel very natural. The difference between these and other lashes are the tips of the lashes. They ends of each lash is tapered giving it a more realistic look. If you're a lash person like me, give these a try!

My ipsy bag is not complete without a lip product (so it seems). I really like the color and packaging of Cailyns tinted lip balm, it also retails for $19. I received the color Acid Pink, it's a hot pink lip shade. First off, the packaging seems very cheap. It's plastic and every-time I close the lid it makes a squeaking noise. There is also a lip brush incorporated in the lid. You just slightly pull on the lid and the brush comes out. If you want more precision during application as well as a comfortable feel on the handle you can place the end of the brush back in the lid; it really makes the brush easy to control. The color is bright and opaque. I really don't see how it's a 'tinted lip balm'. I also noticed that my lips didn't feel moisturized or hydrated. It is a really pretty color though and I will probably wear it a lot this spring and upcoming summer.

My bag this month is worth a little over $30! The same as last month and I do like it. The colors and products were right up my alley. My favorite product of the bag has to be the lashes because.. what can I say I love false lashes! The least favorite? it is a bit hard because I do like them all, however, I will say the tinted lip balm. The only reason I chose Cailyn to be my least favorite is because it's suppose to by moisturizing but I didn't feel any bit of it on my lips.

Tea Time // Do's & Don'ts for Prom

Hello Hello!! Today I will be giving you some tips that will help you get ready for your prom! Things that I did and things I wish I did and/or didn't do☻. Let's get started...

☑ Do bring a camera or cell phone with a good camera

You can see in the photo above which one is the better photo. Both were taken with cellphones indoors at a restaurant. Of course, if you bring a camera the photos will turn out much better. If your cell phone takes great photos no need to bring both. Just make sure that whatever you bring has flash for indoors. Takes lot's of pictures! It's your prom, make it a night of memories with photos to look back on with friends at your 10 year reunion. Oh and don't forget to back them up as well. I lost all of my photos when my old laptop died , so I don't have any photos from my prom except for the ones the photographer took.

☑ Do bring a mini-mergency kit + touch up make-up

Minimergency kit is from Pinchprovisions.com

The mini-mergency is not a must have because it may or may not come in handy. However, just having it there would be a good idea. You can probably find one at Ross for $3-5 in the beauty section. If you can't find one or the price is a bit up there, you can just make your own. Most mini-kits include: hairspray, clear nail polish, nail polish remover, emery board, lipbalm, earring backs, clear elastics, mending kit, safety pin, Shemergency tape, stain remover, deodorant towelette, pain reliever, tampon, breath freshener, dental floss, and an adhesive bandage.

Bringing touch up makeup will help keep you look flawless. Example, powder and lip products will come in handy for those prom photos. Many people go on the dance floor and just wait till the line dies down or they just wait in line for the photos to get it over with. You will probably sweat and get oily while dancing as well, a blotting powder or sheet will fix that right up. Don't forget your lash glue! You never know when those little suckers will start loosening up at the corners and fall off!

☑ Do bring a bag with a strap

I recommend bringing a bag that has an optional strap. This way you will have your purse with you at all times. DO NOT leave it unattended. I say this because I know many people that thought their stuff was safe and in the end some of their items were stolen. A fold over clutch will hold more items =). If you're bag doesn't come with a strap you can just make your own chain strap.

☑ Do bring flats

Trust me on this one.. bringing flats as a back up will be a life saver at the end of the night.. even mid-way through prom. No matter how comfortable your heels may be or how frequent you wear heels, you will want a pair of flats or sandals to change into. Many girls forget to bring them and just take off their heels and walk around barefoot (trust me the floor is not clean ladies!). The flats in the photos above are both fold-able. The one on the left can range from $11-15 but may have to be bought online, however, the one by Dr.Scholls range around $10-$12 and can be found in most stores. The Dr. Scholl flats will probably also fit more comfortably in your prom bag.

☑ Do map quest the location beforehand or have your navigation on

If your prom location is somewhere you have never been to before and someone is driving, be sure to Google the location beforehand. Even if they do know where they're going, I say have your navigation on anyway. My partner at the time of my prom said he knew where and how to get to the location (we also had 2 other cars following us) and we got lost. Everyone was quite annoyed and we got there later than expected. So just have the location on your phone or printed out to save you some time. This is the fool-proof way to not get lost and to get to your prom on time.

☑ Do a trial run for makeup looks and hair styles + photos

This is a MUST DO. Testing out your makeup and hair will be another life saver for your prom. You can try out many different looks and hair styles. Just be sure to take photos of each one at different angles. Then you can take a look at them and choose the look you like the most. This is another step that will help you look flawless during your prom. Doing a trial run will also give you an indication of how long it will take you to get ready. This way you will be able to give yourself the proper amount of time to get ready on the actual day of prom.

☑ Do make plans to do something after

It's a night to remember, so make plans to do something with your friends after prom. Go to an after party or just head over to a 24hour restaurant and hang out with friends. Even if you're not going to prom, make plans with other people that are not going. Go karaoke or late night bowling, just have fun.

☑ Do try on many dresses!

Who cares if you only have one dress in mind.. trying on the different kinds of dresses is the best part! Try on long dresses, short dresses, slim, poofy, mermaid... and try on different colors to find the one that looks best on you. How would you know if a dress and color doesn't look good on you if you don't try it on?! YOU WON'T, so just go try on all the dresses. Of course go with friends and/or family for a second opinion.

☒ Don't leave anything unattended

As I stated above, do not leave your valuables unattended. I cannot stress this enough. Including and not limited to your camera, wallets, purse or phone. The only item I would say is okay to leave unattended may be your shoes and cover up.

☒ Don't spend $$$$ on a dress

Honestly the amount of money you want to spend on your dress is up to you. However, I would recommend not spending more than $200. Even that is too much in my opinion. You can find a lot of beautiful dresses for an affordable price. If you live out here in Los Angeles, head down to the fashion district. They have many of the same dresses you will find online and in magazines for half the price. The best part?.. you can negotiate the price with them! Spend less and save the extra money for something else you really want. Don't get me wrong.. prom is fun and may be a night to remember but you also have your wedding day in the future. Now that is a dress you want to spend your money on ☻.

☒ Don't use products with SPF

You want to avoid using products with SPF. You are probably wondering "Why, what's the big deal?" Have you ever wondered why sometimes you get a white cast in flash photos? Why your face appears whiter than the rest of your body? Take a look at your skincare and foundations, do they have any SPF in them? One of the reasons you get a white cast in flash photos when wearing SPF is because SPF reflects the light and makes you appear lighter. So just be safe and avoid them.

☒ Don't try any new products the day before

Don't try any new products that might jeopardize how you will look on your prom night. This includes tanning, facials, haircuts or colors, anything that is permanent or could cause a reaction on your skin. I know some people want a pretty tan for those photos or a facial to help your face glow but you never know how your skin will react. If you are going to do any of these treatments I recommend doing these treatments at least a week, maybe 3-4 days before the prom in case something goes wrong. This way if something does go wrong, then you will have enough time to fix it or if your skin reacts to something you have enough time for your skin to settle down.

☒ Don't over due it

You don't want to put on too much makeup to the point where you are unrecognizable. There's a difference between the right amount of color and too many different colors (the photo above). There isn't anything wrong with the makeup in the photo shown above but I don't think it's appropriate for a formal (prom). Again, just like your dress, you decide how you want to wear your makeup. Just keep this in mind, you want to be able to look back at your photos and think "Whoa! I looked good" not "Omg! What was I thinking"

☒ Don't freak out

First, take a deep breath. Please do not stress or over complicate things. You will be too busy worrying about things going wrong that you won't give yourself the time to enjoy getting ready for the prom and the prom itself. Shopping and getting ready for prom should be fun not stressful

Enjoy your prom and avoid drama if possible. Prom should be about spending time with your friends and having fun. Just enjoy the night, be yourself and have fun!

Tea Time // Procrastinating Beauty Blogger TAG!

Hello Hello! So I was looking through my feed on bloglovin' (are you following me on Blogvin' yet?) and came across Holly Ann's post on Beautiful Reports with the 'Procrastination Beauty Blogger Tag'. It looked like a fun tag and I wanted to share my answers with all of you. TGIF!

1. Name a beauty regimen that you rarely do?

Mascara on my lower lash line! I hate it. I feel like it looks weird on me. It looks so pretty on others though.. don't you hate that? They look short and clumpy as though I don't have enough lashes to pull the look off. Darn you girls blessed with luscious lashes!

2. Is washing your make-up brushes something that you do regularly?

I would say yes and no. I try to deep clean them weekly but my laziness kicks in. I don't own that many brushes so having to wait for them to dry is a pain in the butt for me. I do deep clean my face brushes weekly though since I break out easily (dirty foundation brushes are a no no for me) as well as spot clean my shadow brushes at least 2x a week.

3. How long will you last with chipped nail polish?

I actually can't stand chipped polish =.=. Once I notice a chip I'll try to fix it as soon as I can or just remove it all together. It's not that big of a deal since I try to do Mani Mondays every week here on the blog anyway and I prefer to change my polish 1x every week unless I absolutely love the polish/design I have on. What I do have a problem with is smudged nails! I always seem to smudge my nails everytime, it's quite annoying lol.

4. How long will you put off buying/replacing a beauty product, even if you need it?

I wouldn't say that I need a certain product but I usually have multiple different types of the same product. For instance, mascaras and eyeliners.. I have so many that I rotate between, it is almost impossible for me to run out of them. The same goes for blushes, highlighters, lipsticks and shadows. The one thing I would say that I would go out and repurchase right away would be foundation and concealer. Since I do own multiple foundations and BB creams I would say it would take me as little as 3-4 days before I repurchased my favorite foundation(s) (L'oreal Lumi or Revlon Colorstay).

5. What is your worst beauty habit?

Would not putting lotion on count? Since, we're being honest here, I have to say I am pretty terrible at remembering to put lotion on my body after a shower or before going out. For a girl with dry skin it is a big deal and I really should apply it more often. Especially since I have so many ><. My mom loves those bath and body coupons so she is always buying body lotions lol. I also receive them as gifts. I swear I don't think I'll ever run out of lotion. My favorite is the Aveeno and my least favorite is the Vaseline spray.

6. Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time?

Om-gosh for sure it has to be my homework. I am well known for procrastinating and doing my work the night before or the day of. The only times I really do stuff ahead of time is if it's a group project or if it's for an online class. Mainly because when I'm in a group, the group likes to meet up and see where the progress is and with online classes you never know when your internet will mess up. I also tend to just place everything on the floor after I'm done or when I'm tired of doing it. For instance, you see all the stuff in the photo above? That's all on my bed (where I mostly do my homework) I probably ended up just putting everything on the floor or on my desk chair after taking the photo haha.

7. When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready to the last minute?

I never leave getting ready for the last minute. It's actually the first thing I do after showering. If I have an appointment I usually give myself at least an hour to get ready from head to toe. If I am meeting up with friends the time is usually flexible, for instance, if I wake up late (or if they do) we will just push back lunch or the meet time to 30 minutes-1 hour later. I like to make sure I have enough time to shower, do my makeup, hair and get dressed. However, if I need to rush my make-up I'll do it within 10-15 minutes (my foundation probably takes the longest).

8. Can you commit to spending bans?

No way! I actually don't spend a lot of money to the point that I would need a spending ban. I can walk into Mac and not want anything; the same goes for Sephora or any store for that matter. Most of the time I will go shopping with my friends and we will go from store to store and I just browse until something stands out to me. However, food is different. If I am walking and something smells good I will usually crave it and buy it lol. Those street dog carts out here in L.A. always get to me. I probably spend the most money at the market. Every time I go to Trader Joe's I am always grabbing a bunch of snacks. Can't pass up that bag of chile spiced mango!

9. How organized are your make-up and nail polish collections?

My makeup and nail polish collections are actually quite organized. My highlighters/bronzers, blushes, cream shadows, primers, some new products as well as products I need to remind myself to use are all kept in my Micke Desk. All of my other makeup products (lipsticks, glosses, eyeshadows, foundations and palettes) are all kept in 3 drawer organizers on a deep shelf in my closet. The deep shelf I have is just a bigger and deeper version of the Closet Maid 3 Shelf Organizer you can find at target.

As for my nail polishes.. I keep them on nail polish racks I made placed in a deep shelf in my closet. The shelves in the closet are more like deep cubicle's with 3 walls. I made a nail polish rack for two of the walls in the cube and placed my polishes on them. They are organized by brand then color.

Born Pretty Store Angled Flat Top Brush Review & Photos

This is the last item from my package for review from bornprettystore.com. There will be a promo code to use to save 10% off at their website.

I was really excited to get this brush because I was looking for a brush for my under-eye concealer. The claim is that this brush is high quality.. I wouldn't say it is high quality but it is soft to the touch. I'm not sure if it's because it is artificial fiber but when I tried using it by stroking the foundation it made a weird noise and did feel a little weird. It also leaves streaks if you apply your foundation in strokes. Since it is an angled flat top brush it did not work well buffing in circular motions either. It works really well when patting/tapping in your foundation and concealer.

I did deep clean the brush and did not notice any fall out or anything from the bristles. In the photos below you might notice the cracking on the handle. It's my fault for leaving it out on my roof. I usually go on my roof to take photos in direct sunlight for my blog. I forgot to bring it back down with me and left it up there. The next few days it was pouring rain out here and then the day after super sunny. I am sure the weather had a play in the cracking.

I had high hopes for this brush but unfortunately I did not love it. I like it enough to continue using it but this brush didn't impress me. I do like using it for patting out my concealer but I wish it wasn't so stiff. Bornprettystore has many other single brushes on their website that I think would work better than this one. I recommend taking a look around and reading the reviews before deciding on a brush. They have some that vary from $3-$12.

Ipsy - Destination Beauty (March 2014)

Can you believe we only have 2 1/2 weeks left for March?! Spring break will be here in no time.

Ipsy's March bag theme is Destination Beauty. I feel like the products in my bag are welcoming spring or trying to hint that I need to go to the beach lol. Mainly because of the colors I received.

This month's bag was designed my Klari Reis and was inspired by her own art. You can view her designs if you google her name. You will most likely see the exact same design of this bag in your search. Personally, it isn't my cup of tea but there are many people that do like the pattern.

One of the products I received was the Mini Flawless Beauty Primer. I'm not sure if it's sold in stores but I found it on their website for $9. I think it's a travel size version of the original size that values for $22. This product is a face primer meant to even skin tone as well as add a healthy youthful glow. It is quite hydrating and blends out smoothly. However, the second I finish blending and take a look at my fingers all of the shimmer from the primer is on them. The shimmer also settled on the dry spots on my skin. The shimmer in the primer is what adds the glow to your skin. This primer gives you a dewy look, so people with oily skin may not like it. Also if you have really dry skin be sure to exfoliate properly and moisturize well before application.

I also received a Moxie lipstick sample in 'get ready' by bare minerals; the full size retails for $18. It's one of those MLBB (my lips but better) lipsticks. A very versatile pink lipstick that everyone can wear. It glides on very smoothly and is quite hydrating as well. The wear time is normal like any other lipstick, wears off after eating and drinking.

In my bag was also an eyeshadow quad that retails for $16 by Be A Bombshell. When I saw this quad I instantly thought of tropical and look at the name.. it's Bora Bora. The colors are pretty and go well together. They all have frost/satin finishes and are quite pigmented when swatched and applied with my finger. The only thing I do not like about BAB packaging is that you have to put a little oomph into opening it.

I received a Nicole by OPI nail polish in my bag as well! I do enjoy receiving nail polishes however the texture of this one isn't my cup of tea. The color however is beautiful. It reminds me of China Glaze's For Audrey. 'On What Grounds?' is from the Roughles line and it basically a textured polish. When completely dried it feels like sand paper and looks very 'rough'. Since that is the finish they are going for you do not need a topcoat. I went ahead and added a top coat because I was curious. With the topcoat you can still feel the texture but it's just not as rough. It looks like a regular texture polish with a top coat. Depending on where you shop the retail value of the polish can range from $6-$8.

My bag this month is worth a little over $30! The same as last month and I do like it. I always enjoy getting all make-up products in my bag. Even though I am not too thrilled on the bag design I am happy with the contents. I usually just give my bag away to my mom anyway or save them to store gifts in, so they come in handy. My least favorite product this month would be the nail polish and my favorite is the lipstick.

DIY: Display/Shadow Box & Painting Old Frames

Looking to decorate your room with a budget? This simple DIY will help you with that. Since I already had the paints I wanted to use.. I only spent $5 on the frames and lace. All materials together were about $22. It was well worth it because I have a lot of lace and paint left over to use on other projects.

I had this space above my vanity empty and it looked very odd to me. I took the mirror from my vanity and placed it on my wall after decorating it. Shortly after, I headed to my local dollar tree and .99 cents store and grabbed a few frames. They didn't have any frames I liked and the colors were hideous but I figured I would be able to embellish them. Keep reading to see how I did.

♡Materials Needed:

Frames: I chose 2 plain ones and 1 with details
Table Cloth/Shelf Liner: I chose a white lace shelf liner
Glue Gun: E6000 would be better
Paint Brushes
Paint: Color(s) of your choice. Regular paint or spray paint.

I used: White paint, Martha Stewart Champagne glitter paint + Vintage Gold satin metallic paint

If you go to the paint section at home depot there is usually a cart with paint on top. Those paint cans are usually 30%-50% off. That's where I grab my paint for projects. They have various sizes and colors but it's very limited and varies. The paints they place there are usually from the days before by customers that change their minds after the staff makes the paint.

♡Process:
Before you begin be sure you are using an open space. If you are using spray paint I recommend doing this outside. Also, make sure to place newspaper under the frames while you paint them.

You can see below that the detailed frame was a dirty bronze type color. I really liked the detailing on the frame because it was exactly what I was looking for but the color threw me off. I decided to paint it white and lightly brushed Martha Stewart's Vintage Gold paint over the details. I went ahead and glued the lace pattern on the back of the frame and glued the glass from the frame behind the lace.

For the display box I painted the two silver frames white, let it dry completely then took sand paper (an old nail filer you don't use anymore would do) to sand the edges a bit. Sanding the edges and lightly brushing some of the Vintage Gold paint on the sides and edges gave it a vintage/shabby chic look as well. After everything completely dried I took glued one of the frames on top of the other. Just like the previous frame, I went ahead and glued the lace pattern on the back of the frame and glued the glass from the frame behind the lace.

I loved the Vintage Gold paint so much that I decided to paint the lace with it. It looks so much better and goes well with the frames.

I also went ahead and painted the top of the frame with the Vintage Gold then the Champagne glitter paint. Took a few coats and longer to dry but completely worth it. You can use the Champagne glitter paint on it's own but it would take more coats depending on how much glitter you wanted on your project.

♡Final Result:
I love how everything came out. The colors and lace I chose adds something extra to my room without making it too girly. The box is also great for me to display my favorite polishes of the moment for easy grab. Sometimes I even switch it out with my favorite lip products.

This is how I decorated my mirror before painting it with vintage gold + the glitter paint.

You can layer another plain frame on top if you wanted it deeper but if you're hanging it make sure you use the proper nail size. I love the box because I get to change out what I display on it anytime I want to. I usually don't put anything on the other frame because I think it looks great as it is.

I love writing stuff on my mirror! I use to have "You're only beautiful if you believe", I like this quote because no matter how many people compliments you, you won't have confidence in yourself unless you believe in yourself. It pretty much helped with self-esteem & confidence. I currently have "She believed she could, so she did and you can too", the original quote doesn't contain the 'and you can too' I decided to add that to remind myself that I can do anything I want to if I believe I can. I love this quote because you can apply it to anything you want.

Everyone can use that oomph of radiance and glow right? If you own and enjoy Benefit's highbeam (my review here) then you will most likely enjoy Cool Betty's Golden Ratio in #02. Golden Ratio is a 2 in one brightener and highlighter. This product looks exactly like Etude House's Golden ratio, the only difference is CB is in a frosted glass bottle. It is a satin pink liquid highlighter that also includes a cream brightener for the eyes. It's a great inexpensive dupe for Benefit's highbeam and also contains more product.

♡Packaging:
When you open up the lid you will see the cream highlighter and mirror. The cream highlighter is meant to be an eye brightener. I recommend using it on the lids but not underneath your eye, the product is just too shimmery and looks very weird underneath the eyes even with concealer on top.

Once you twist open the lid you will find the liquid highlighter. Unlike benefit, this product comes with a spatula instead of a brush for application. I prefer to tap a little on the back of my hand then apply the product to highlight my face with my fingers. I also love using it under my brow bone as a highlight.

You can see the sparkle better with the flash in this photo but don't worry it's not as intense when you actually wear it.

♡Swatches:
The cream highlighter gives a cream to powder type finish when blended out. Also, when it is completely blended out, it gives off a cool tone pink sheen. The liquid highlighter, however, has more of a satin finish to it and is also cool toned but is not as pink as the cream brightener.

♡Product Applied:
Please excuse the shine on my cheeks, I use a dewy foundation.

I gave this product 4.5 stars because I love it just as much as my highbeam. It's really affordable and adds a beautiful highlight to my looks. I think it looks more natural on people with a lighter complexion (cool undertones) because it can look a bit too bright on people with warmer undertones. If you use highbeam and you it works well on you, then I say go for it. It's not overbearing and doesn't make my skin appear oily nor sparkly. It does help my skin appear brighter and healthier. It can be worn alone for a more natural look but since I do have a lot of acne scars I like to use it on top of my foundation. It is definitely worth a try for only $6-7 and free shipping.

I went ahead and gave this product 4 stars because I love it!! I use it every other day rotating with shade #02. I also used it on my friend Paula and she has a darker complexion than I do and it looked subtle and beautiful on her. I have to say that I don't use the cream portion of the product that much. However, I do like to use it on the inner corner of my eyes and on the center of my lids when I am not reaching for my ELF highlighter in pink diamonds. I really like the liquid portion of the product because of the satin finish to it. Even though the gold has the apricot pink sheen to it, it's very subtle. I do recommend continuously patting the area you are applying it to to blend rather than swiping because you can easily get the product on unwanted areas.

Daiso Haul // Pink Overload!

They finally opened a Daiso Japan near me back in March 2013 and I love it! It has so many cute items for the home and make-up. 'Everything' is $1.50 unless otherwise stated (meaning there is another price tag on it - which will range from $1-$5) but I would say everything is just about $1.50. There are probably only a few items that are over $1.50. I go to the one in Koreatown but there is one in San Gabriel as well that is much bigger. The products in my post can be found at the one in San Gabriel, the only product I found at the one in K-Town is the eyebrow pencil. I assume all locations vary, so if there is anything that you like in my post check out your local Daiso!

♡Storage: $1.50
Not exactly sure what this is for but I think it can be used to store many things. It also came in the colors light blue and white. I don't have anything stored in it at the moment but I think it's nice to display on my vanity.

This goes along with the item above. Of course, you can buy one or the other but I loved this (so of course I had to get it too). There were many that were broken.. I guess people had a hard time trying to open it and broke it while trying. Fortunately, I found one that was not broken. It looks nice next to the same designed storage above. I currently keep a pair of rings in it. I really wasn't planning on placing anything in these boxes and just bought them for display but they come in handy for dainty items.

♡Lash Case: $1.50
Isn't this cute?!! I know everything I purchased is pink, I promise I did not go into the store determined to buy only pink products. What can I say? My eyes tend to see and my body tends to move towards the cute stuff and anything pink.. just ask my friend Thanyra she can vouch for me. They had other lash cases but those weren't as decorative. If you wanted one that was more plain they had those clear plastic rectangular cases. These are mostly used to store the lashes that you have worn already or for travel. It doesn't only help store your lashes but it also keeps the curve on the base of the lashes.

♡Eyebrow Pencil: $1.50
I can't tell you the brand of this because I couldn't read the the wording on the packaging. They have a variety of brow pencils to choose from but I went with this one because it's retractable and it has a flat edge. The pencil is on one end and the spoolie brush is on the other. It works quite well actually and I would repurchase it. They have 3 colors - natural brown, brown & dark brown. I purchased the one in natural brown.

♡On My Vanity:
I currently have my items displayed on my vanity. I'll probably put my eyebrow pencil in its correct place as well as the lash case but who knows... I might just keep it this way.

Their products are really inexpensive but some products aren't great. For instance, I bought a pair of tweezers previously and they just don't do the job for plucking any hairs so I use them for my nail art (picking up rhinestones, etc). For $1.50 I can't complain but at least I know not to purchase them again. I am happy with everything shown in this post though. The lash case is great for my lashes and the two pink storage boxes give my vanity a girly touch without being childish.

I went to Ulta recently and finally saw Lorac's Unzipped Palette and it is beautiful! I also spotted Lorac's Pro Palette right next to it. Unfortunately for me, they were both sold out. Both palettes are really pretty and quite pigmented when I swatched them. I really should of grabbed the Pro during the holidays when they had it in a set for $38. I wasn't a fan of Benefit's Rockateur blush at first because I thought it was waaay too shimmery. However, I swatched it and fell in love. It gives such a beautiful rose gold glow, it's perfect as a highlighter. I also spotted the Revlon Parfumerie polishes for buy one get one 50% off. I've seen them before at target and was tempted to grab them but the colors didn't interest me much. However, after seeing swatches online I want Italian Leather, Spun Sugar, Lavender Soap & African Tea Rose.

Well that is my latest wish list. I still have products from my last wish list to get (as well as previous ones) but I am glad to say that I bought the Inked in Pink color tattoo and it is currently in this month's monthly favorites. I had a chance to pick up the Revlon polishes but I went with the Naked3 instead ☻. I try to get at least 1 or 2 products per month from my wishlists depending on the price, that way I don't go shopping crazy and buy too many products at once lol.

1) I believe I bought Victoria Secret's 'Dream On' polish between November-January. It has so much sparkle and is just beautiful, I recommend all of my friends to try it on when they can. I do have to say if you put too many layers on.. it will eventually peel off your nails. 2) I recently purchased Maybelline's Color Tattoo in 'Inked In Pink' and you know how much I love my color tattoos. It is pretty and subtle.. also the lightness and metallic-ness of the cream shadow doesn't make your eyes look swollen or tired. It's a great way to add some color to your lids without going out of your comfort zone if you're more of a neutral shades kind of person. 3) SH 'Red My Lips' has really been a favorite this month. There are only a few reds I keep in my collection and this is one of them. It's not too dark yet not too bright but perfect for my taste. The consistency of the polish is also very good. 4) It's been a bit cold lately and windy but still a little sunny. I have several inexpensive sunglasses but I have been wearing these Mirrored Aviators. It's pretty cool actually, it looks blue in some angles and green in others. I also own another one in Gold/Pink. They're about $4 on ebay but you can tell it's cheap quality. If you don't care about the quality I say grab it. 5) I received the Pop Beauty Lip Plump in my Ipsy bag earlier this month and have been using it every day since. It's not overly sticky and is opaque enough with just one swipe. 6) You know I love my highlighters right? A girl needs that extra something to add a little radiance to her look and for me it's been Cool Betty's Golden Ratio. NOTD: Dress Me Up with a little Hidden Treasure

I was going through my nail polish stash and came across Sally Hansen's (original) 'hidden treasure'. Do you guys remember this polish? I say original because SH has reused the name for another polish of a completely different shade. The one I am using today is a limited edition polish from the collaborated line between Tracy Reese and Sally Hansen (back in 2010). It sold out very quickly back then, I was fortunate enough to find someone to swap with on makeupally.com for it. Don't own it? don't worry! There are many dupes with flake glitters that give a similar effect (fingers paints (flashy), Essie (shine of the times), Color Club).

I took some photos of my nails with flash but it ended up not capturing the true effect of this flake polish, so I stuck with the natural lighting from my window. You will also notice that I reused the same stamping plate from one of my Valentine's Day Edition manicures but I loved the look so much I had to use it again. I hope you enjoy the look and pick up a bottle of flakes for yourself to own if you don't already!

I won these two colors during a giveaway on Jordana's Facebook. I am so glad I had a chance to try these out. They are only $3.99 and they only have a handful of colors at the moment but they are awesome. I can't wait to pick up the other colors. Hopefully they have a BOGO sale soon.

♡Packaging:
I would say they are about half the size of NYX's and ELF's Jumbo eyeshadow pencils. Similar to NYX's jumbo pencils these have to be sharpened once you use up the tip. I was hoping they were retractable pencils because let's face it.. it makes life much easier. I also feel like I waste a lot of product when I need to sharpen a pencil, don't you?

♡Swatches:
These pencils are creamy and glide on very well. They are not only pigmented but they blend out very nicely too! I recommend using your fingers to blend it out instead of a brush.

♡Pros:

Truly lasts all day
Water resistant
Did not crease or budge
Affordable
Includes some neutral colors and bright colors

♡Cons:

Not retracable // needs to be sharpened
8 colors (not bad but more would be better!)

♡My Overall Thoughts & Heart Approval:
I absolutely love these pencils! They really did last me all day. While swatching them they did not budge or fade away when I did the smudge test & water test. They really are great for such an affordable price. If you are looking for something that will last and not budge I recommend you pick these up and add them to your collection. Just be sure you have an sharpener that the pencil will fit in.

This is another look using the Night Life Palette by EM Michelle Phan Cosmetics. I actually did this look several months ago but never got to posting it, so here it is. As I originally stated in my review for this palette I do love the colors and use them most of the time.

♡The Look:
I wasn't exactly inspired by anything or anyone for this look. I just played with some colors and put them together. Just experimenting =)

WetnWild: Sugar Plum Fairy

This look is a little shimmery with a little fall out but not as much as my Poppin' bottles look. I hope you enjoy this look! You can definitely tone it down by changing the lipstick color and swapping out private party for a brown shadow. Just remember that every look is customizable and wearable if you're confident in rocking it!

I was asked what I was wearing in my recent EOS Grey circle lenses review and here it is! Mulsh is one of my favorite colors from Mac, I definitely recommend you pick it up if you do not own it yet. I also love the kiss lashes I have on. They are very comfortable and pretty on as well.
