Opera Is Dead, Desktop Browser Replaced with Chromium, WebKit on Mobile

2013-02-23T13:02:00.001-08:00

After almost two decades in the browser business,Opera has officially quit. The company announced that it is going to adopt the WebKit engine for all of its browsers on mobile platform, stopping development of its desktop browser and will start supporting Chromium, the open source version of Chrome.
Basically, this means that Opera will no longer be developing its own HTML layout engine, Presto, and that it will slap an Opera label on Chromium and call that its desktop browser.

In the mobile space, it will be just another company that takes the WebKit engine and slaps some UI elements on top of it. There are now only four major browser makers in the world, Microsoft, Google, Mozilla and Apple, and just three layout engines, Trident, Gecko and WebKit.

Many of us embrace before buying smart phone or tablets but have you ever thought about mixture of all operating system for best performance and as well modernistic. But it have organized by Android.Never been explained by Android, do i named Miopsys for Android because of its behavior Mixture operating system(Miopsys).

Android is a Linux-based operating system for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers, developed by Google in conjunction with the Open Handset Alliance.Android consists of a kernel based on the Linux kernel 2.6 and Linux Kernel 3.x (Android 4.0 onwards), with middleware, libraries and APIs written in C and application software running on an application framework which includes Java-compatible libraries based on Apache Harmony. Android uses the Dalvik virtual machine with just-in-time compilation to run Dalvik dex-code (Dalvik Executable), which is usually translated from Java bytecode.Android was initially developed by Android Inc, whom Google financially backed and later purchased in 2005.

AMD OR INTEL

2012-09-05T13:04:00.000-07:00

INTEL Processors: Intel was the first major brand for desktop CPUs, they survived a lot of competitors. The CPUs they manufacture are always a bit more expensive than AMDs. Because of their market shares, Intel was able to force some "gadgets" onto the market. Private users often choose AMDs for their machines to save costs. Intel supports the classification by the pure speed of a CPU no more.Intel processors have the largest L3 cache at 2mb while the largest for AMD is 1mb.
Some Technical Facts:-
1.Intel generally uses Socket 478 (478 pins).
2. Intel motherboards use Intel, SIS, and most recently ATI chip sets.
3. Intel multipliers cannot be unlocked (Not to say that AMD is used exclusively by over clockers, because it is not, but this ability to be unlocked is a plus).

AMD Processors: AMD concentrated on the PC and consumer market and cut the costs for their CPUs in order to be more competitive. Nowadays the AMD CPUs are hotter than Intel CPUs, therefore you will need a better cooling and your system will be a bit louder.
1.AMD's generally use Socket A (462 pins)
2.AMD motherboards generally use SIS, VIA, or N force chip sets.
3.AMD is a favorite for over clockers because with minor modifications the FSB multiplier can be unlocked

Mathematical Model of the Brain Developed

2012-04-12T11:32:00.000-07:00

Taking complex systems such as the Internet and social networks as examples, a group of experts at the University of Cambridge was able to create a mathematical model of the brain. Though simple, their tool provides a surprisingly complete statistical account of how different regions interact.
This is one of the most important goals in neuroscience. Numerous diseases are produced when various areas of the brain interact excessively, or poorly. It's only after understanding which of these connections are to blame that scientists can hope to develop new therapies against these disorders.

The simplicity of the model is mind-boggling. Experts took into account just two competing factors. The first was the distance between various areas of the brain, which determines the energy costs of maintaining a long-distance link.

The second one was the affinity that each section of the brain had towards communicating with other areas that have similar data input pathways. This approach turned out to be surprisingly encompassing.

North Pole Is Next Waypoint for All Continents

2012-02-12T05:59:00.000-08:00

In a paper published in the Februray 8 issue of the top scientific journal Nature, investigators at the Yale University showcase a scenario detailing how Earth's continents will rearrange themselves. We are currently right in the middle of a supercontinental cycle.
Such a cycle usually lasts for hundreds of millions of years, and this one is scheduled to conclude within 50 million years or so. At that time, both American continents, Eurasia and Africa will slam into each other over the North Pole, with Greenland right in the center of the new supercontinent.

The newly-born continent, made primarily out of sectors currently in North America and Asia, will be called Amasia. Interestingly, the Atlantic Ocean will disappear entirely. This is odd because it is the location where new crust is currently being formed, pushing the Americas and Eurasia further apart.

What is even more interesting is that Amasia will eventually center itself right where Africa is now, reclaiming the same position that the Pangaea supercontinent had at the end of the Permian Epoch, around 250 million years ago. The continent's dispersal coincided with the P-Tr. extinction event, Wired reports.

Scientists: Earth Has Two Moons

2011-12-25T07:31:00.000-08:00

A group of scientists proposed in a new scientific paper that Earth has two moons, the familiar one we see in the sky at night, influencing our planet's tides, and another one, only as big as a very small car.
The asteroid is not always the same, the team behind the paper believes. They say that there is a space rock around Earth at all times, an object at least 3.3 feet (1 meter) in diameter. However, any given rock flies away at one point, and is replaced by another with the same attributes.According to the proposal – published in the December 20 issue of the scientific journal Icarus – a theoretical model they developed indicates the presence of such objects in donut-shaped orbits around Earth. However, this very path is what's constantly kicking them out of sync with the planet.
Speaking about the smaller ones, Mikael Gravnik says that “objects of this size are too faint to be detected when being at a distance of, say, a few lunar distances from the Earth.” The expert, who is based at the University of Helsinki, is the lead author of the Icarus paper.

“When coming closer in during their orbit, they are moving too fast to be detected, because the limited amount of photons is spread over too many pixels,” he concludes.

Need for Speed: The Run Review (PC)

2011-11-30T04:43:00.000-08:00

I grew up with the Need for Speed franchise, first experiencing the racing series with the stunning NFS 5: Porsche Unleashed. After that, I didn’t miss any entry in the series. Sadly, as much as I enjoyed titles like Underground 1 and 2, not to mention the stunning Most Wanted, the newer iterations, like the ill-fated Pro Street or the cheesy Undercover, almost made me abandon the franchise completely.

Thankfully, Electronic Arts managed to avoid sending the long running series down the drain, and allowed new studios longer development times and more creative freedom, which resulted in the franchise taking some rather interesting turns, like with Shift 1 or 2, made by Slightly Mad Studios, or last year’s Hot Pursuit, made by Criterion Games.

If You're Not Sure What to Get for Christmas, Buy RAM

2011-11-16T09:24:00.000-08:00

Due to an only partially-foreseeable string of events, it so happens that, this year, random access memory (RAM) is the most convenient of purchases on the consumer tech market.

The winter holiday shopping season is more or less upon us already, so, naturally, people are trying to decide how to make the best of it.
By extension, many people are going to want to buy something new for their computer and, this year, they may as well take a shot at a new DDR3 module or two, or four or even eight.
This isn't about any one product either, but about computer memory as a whole.

Basically, RAM is very cheap right now, after dropping in price almost constantly over the past year.

Indian Hackers Revenge Kashmir Related Attacks

2011-10-18T02:59:00.000-07:00

A hacker known as Vicky Singh has recently hit the website of the Pakistani embassy in China to revenge the acts of the ZHC group that not long ago defaced a large number of Indian sites.

According to Cyberwarnews, this is a warning to ZHC not to involve the Kashmir area in his operations as it belongs to India.

“This message is not for Indian government but common Indian people who dont know what their government hides. For those of your politicians who boast of Kashmir being an integral part of India read your own law books,” could be read on the defaced Indian sites.
Now, Vicky Singh claims that he didn't hack the website just for fun, but as a response to the attacks launched by ZHC. He claims they're not looking for cyberwar, as India has always been peaceful, but actually we all know that this is how a virtual battle begins.

Hong Kong Artist Admits His Steve Jobs Tribute May Not Be Original

2011-10-10T12:50:00.000-07:00

The 19-year old Hong Kong student credited for creating an awesome tribute for Apple’s late co-founder has stepped forward to admit his design was, in fact, not original.
After being contacted by various high-profile companies with job propositions, 19-year old Jonathan Mak said he was not, in fact, the first to come up with the design featuring Steve Jobs' head mashed inside the Apple logo.

Days later, it was revealed that a U.K.-based designer going by the screen name of Raid71 had, in fact, created a similar (therefore original) design in May.
Mak has now publicly acknowledged he was not the original creator of the design. However, he added that he did not "rip off" the British artist. He merely came to the same conclusions on his own, he said:
"I still arrived at the solution on my own, and my conscience is still clear, but I'm more than happy to acknowledge the fact that somebody did it before me," Mak said in a statement today.

Google senior management not using Google+?

2011-10-05T08:08:00.000-07:00

Strong management support would seem to be key for a new product's success. After all, if the company behind it doesn't demonstrate an interest or confidence in the product, why should anyone else?
Which would make one wonder: if Google executives can't be bothered to use their own social network, what makes them think the rest of us will? That's the question that immediately leaps to mind when one considers the findings of Michael DeGusta, who recently counted how many times Google's senior leadership has posted to Google+ since its launch three months ago.
What DeGusta found was that CEO Larry Page was one of the standouts with seven posts. That may not sound like much, but that's seven more than eight of his senior executives. Google cofounder Sergey Brin has posted 15 times, while the leader at more than 150 posts is Vic Gundotra, but he's widely perceived as Google's social czar--it's kind of his job.
Meanwhile, Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt and Chief Legal Officer David Drummond don't seem to have Google+ accounts at all.
Of course, many of these executives may have opted to post privately, but it seems that it would be in their best interest to show some public interest in their company's product, like, say, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who recently said he uses his social network "all day long." Well, maybe not that much.
Google representatives did not respond to a request for comment.

New Michael Jackson Album Is Out in November 2011

2011-10-03T12:18:00.000-07:00

While Dr. Conrad Murray’s involuntary manslaughter trial is taking place in Los Angeles, Michael Jackson fans from all over the world have at least one reason to rejoice: a new album of the late star will be released shortly.

The new material will include never before heard tracks, remixes and mash-ups, Music-News informs, and will be released in a standard and a deluxe version.
Its release is meant to coincide and capitalize on the Cirque du Soleil show dedicated to Michael Jackson, which kicked off the other night.

“It’s now been confirmed that Immortal will be available to buy from November 21. The release is in conjunction with Cirque du Soleil's new show Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour,” Music-News reports.
“The record includes re-workings of some of the King of Pop’s biggest tracks, mash-ups and pieces of songs which weren’t included on previous LPs,” says the e-zine.

Another Satellite to Crash to Earth in November

2011-09-29T07:05:00.000-07:00

The German Roentgen Satellite (ROSAT) X-ray space observatory will reenter Earth's atmosphere in November, mission managers at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) announced. They say that the machine has long-since reached the end of its life cycle, and that it's time for it to retire.
People are very weary of such news now, considering that the NASA Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS) gave many a scare recently. The American spacecraft reentered the atmosphere chaotically and out-of-control. It finally crashed in the Pacific Ocean without causing damages.
DLR officials say that about 1.6 tons of debris will eventually make their way into the atmosphere after surviving the scorching temperatures of atmospheric reentry. A total of about 30 large pieces will impact the ground or the ocean over the designated impact area.

“Generally speaking, whenever a satellite re-enters the atmosphere, about 20 to 40 percent of its mass actually reaches the Earth’s surface. In the case of ROSAT, this figure could be slightly higher because one of its characteristic features is that it carries heat-resistant mirror structures on board,” Klinkrad concludes.

India Takes Measures to Stop Unsolicited SMS

2011-09-27T07:20:00.000-07:00

With SMS spam becoming an increasing problem, the Indian telecoms authority released the long-promised service that will allow mobile phone owners to blacklist unwanted short messages received from telemarketers and other companies who seek cheap advertising. Also, a 100 SMSs per day limit has been introduced.

According to the Times of India, at first the new rules caused a lot of confusion and protest but now, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) cleared things and adapted the 100 SMS limit so that certain institutions and organizations will not suffer.

UARS Will Hit the South Pacific Today

2011-09-23T00:35:00.000-07:00

Orbital scientists say that the falling Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS) will not impact the ground over US territory. According to the latest predictions, it will splash in the South Pacific Ocean, a little to the north of New Guinea.

Over the past few days, experts have been hard at work in analyzing the trajectory the UARS took when it began its descent, as well as all the other factors that may be involved in altering this course.
