Answer: Pick up point at the hotel’s lobby is at 06:00 am, anywhere in Senggigi or Mataram. For those who stay in Gili Islands, the pick up point would be at Bangsal Port OR Teluk Nara Port at 06:00 am, please arrange yourself boats transport from the Gilis to Bangsal Port OR Teluk Nara Port.

Question: Where can I leave my extra luggage during the trek program to Mount Rinjani?
Answer: You can leave luggage to our coordinators under foot of mount Rinjani. You can have all your luggage back after the trek ends. Please check again your luggage before you leave the mount Rinjani, does not cost anything to your luggage is kept securely in our place. It’s the usual things we do with our guests also with your luggage safe.

About porters or extra porters

Your porter will bring food, tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, tarpaulins and kitchen utensils and other necessities during the climb to Mount Rinjani, if 2 climbers, the porters we provide are 2 porters and 1 guide but, not including carrying your luggage to the porter.

Need Extra porter during hiking Aik Berik

If the luggage is very much needed for personal needs to Mount Rinjani, then there is an additional porter / extra port fee, the additional porter fee is IDR 300,000 per porter per day, so that during the climb on Mount Rinjani it will be a total of 2 DAYS extra porters to IDR 600,000 for one porter. The load on our porter’s shoulder is fixed at 20 kilos, yes … the porter will follow you everywhere during the climb on Mount Rinjani.

About other your luggage

Mount Rinjani or Gunung Rinjani is an active volcano in Indonesia on the island of Lombok. Administratively the mountain is in the Regency of North Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (Indonesian: Nusa Tenggara Barat, NTB). It rises to 3,726 metres (12,224 ft), making it the second highest volcano in Indonesia.On the top of the volcano is a 6-by-8.5-kilometre (3.7 by 5.3 mi) caldera, which is filled partially by the crater lake known as Segara Anak or Anak Laut (Child of the Sea) due to blue color of water lake as Laut (Sea). This lake is approximately 2,000 metres (6,600 ft) above sea level and estimated to be about 200 metres (660 ft) deep the caldera also contains hot springs. Sasak tribe and Hindu people assume the lake and the mount are sacred and some religion activities are occasionally done in the two areas. A massive eruption of Rinjani in 1257 CE may have triggered an episode of global cooling and failed harvests.

The majestic Segara Anak lake filling the caldera of Rinjani volcano. The cinder cone is Gunung Barujari (new mountain). The lake covers an area of 11km2 and its volume was before the eruption
estimated at 1.02km3. This is probably the largest hot volcanic lake in the world. The lake elevation is 2.000 meters ASL.

This mountain is located on the east side of the Mount Rinjani caldera, and is in the middle of Segara Anak. The climb to Segara Anak can be started from Senaru Village or Sembalun Lawang Village. These two paths are the path most often used to get to Segara Anak.

Various Interesting Activities in Segara Anak Lake

There are some interesting activities that we can do at Lake Segara Anak. For example, fishing activities. In Segara Anak Lake is like heaven at a height, there are various types of fish there, such as tilapia fish, and gold fish. These fish are widely found in Lake Segara Anak because of the nursery process carried out by the local government in 1985. Good water circulation in Lake Segara Anak is very supportive for breeding these fish. The result can now be enjoyed by tourists.

If you want to enjoy the natural atmosphere of Segara Anak lake longer, you can camp there. Around Segara Anak lake there are indeed a number of airy points that can be used to set up tents. Near Segara Anak lake, there are several hot springs. Many climbers stop by, both for dipping their legs and soaking to relax tired muscles.

Still want to adventure? Explore the Milk Cave, Manik Cave and Payung Cave which are located not far from Segara Anak.

Segara Anak is a crater lake contained within Mount Rinjani on the island of Lombok in Indonesia. The name Segara Anak means child of the sea given to the blue color of the lake reminiscent of the sea. The lake is heated, so its temperature is 20-22 °C, about 5-7°C above the expected temperature for a lake in that altitude. At the west end of the lake is the volcanic cone Gunung Barujari, giving to the lake a crescent shape.

Plawangan Sembalun Crater is one side of the caldera that surrounds the Segara Anak lake, and is on the side of Sembalun village. If we climb Mount Rinjani via the route from Sembalun village, then this Plawangan Sembalun crater is the last post before reaching the top of Mount Rinjani.

Once you set foot here, you will be able to see a row of colorful tents. Hikers usually rest in the Plawangan Sembalun crater before conducting a summit attack at 2 or 3 a.m., so they can see the sunrise at the top of Mount Rinjani.

People name it “The seven hills of regret” means that you’ll be too late to feel regret since you have gone that far and it felt like never ending. You have no choice but keep moving forward. Seriously. There are around seven hills which ascents brutally. Each hill promises you a fake hope of the top. It is pretty much identical but may be sevenfold in distance. You did not count the hills exactly. but it’s kind of many. No worries, you’ll be entertained by the natural charms all the way up the hills. The only obstacle is that you’ll too tired to get your camera ready (DSLR for instance). Truly challenge.

Getting to Lombok by public ferry

The Islands; Bali and Lombok separated by Lombok Strait.
If you travel on a budget, public ferry is the alternative mode of transportation to reach Lombok. It departs from Padang Bai (East Bali) to Lembar (West Lombok). Ferry service departing every hour, operating 24 hours.

Public ferry - Bali To Lombok

Public ferries' provide services for both passengers and vehicles.
The trip normally takes four hours (but it can be considerably longer in poor weather). This service runs 24 hours a day. It should be understood that this ferry has a poor safety record.

Disembark from Padangbai or arriving at Lembar Harbor do not let a local porter take your bags/luggage unless you have negotiated absolutely what you will pay before he puts his hands on your bags.

Best to avoid the service completely if possible as it can be fraught with complications over prices.

While they are cheap, it can cost quite a bit extra to get to Padangbai so its worth comparing all alternatives.

Lembar in the south west of the island is Lombok's main port and handles small freighters, fishing boats and the combination vehicle and passenger ferries heading westward to Bali.

Padang Bai (also Padangbai and Padang Bay) is a small port town in East Bali, the port for ferry terminal from/to Lombok. Situated in Northeast of Gianyar 29 km, from Kuta 62 km, and from Denpasar 56 km. Padangbai can be reached from Sanur in more and less 1 hour.

Crossing By Public ferry (Bali-Lombok)

Tips: If you are leaving from Lombok, chances are high that someone will approach you and offer the ticket to Bali for same or cheaper than going the current rate of Rp 36,000 (March 2011). They'll also try to move you past official ticket offices (at the entrance gates of the harbor). It may be cheaper, however, you won't get an official ticket, or get only second part of it (the first one normally goes to the security on the pier). So, you may end up without a valid ticket and, if some security check happens, may have to pay again and suffer a lot of confusion. Just buy the ticket at the official ticket booth.

Stay safe

The ferries used on the run between Lombok and Bali do not conform to many Internationally recognized safety and operational standards. It is prudent to keep alert and be aware of your position and situation whilst on board and make yourself aware of the positioning of life preserving equipment. If inside the main cabin or below decks try to ensure you orient yourself to the layout of the ships decks and emergency exits especially if traveling at night. You should maintain a clear head and use caution at all times when embarking and disembarking as the decks and ramps can be slippery and the passengers can at times behave in a chaotic manner especially when disembarking.

Be aware that heavy vehicles as well as cars and motorbikes are moving onto and off the ships at the dock and will using the same loading ramp as the passengers. Be careful to keep track of your bags and watch out for pick pockets if in a crowd waiting to board or disembark.

Lombok To Sumbawa

Your description

Waterfall Benang Stokel in the village of Aik Berik residing in central Lombok is about 27 km east of Mataram, a little less than an hour into the trip. BenangStokel famous waterfall to find 2 pieces of the waterfall. Waterfall Benang Kelambu and waterfalls Benang Stokel also named from which the climb up Mount Rinjani starts.

The waterfall and the starting point for the line can be reached in about 30 minutes by car. Trekking through the dense forest, climbing up to the edge of the crater takes about 6 hours. From here, the descent into Crater Lake about 3 hours. This ascent offers a lot of variety, with the famous Goddess Anjani waterfall as one of the highlights, and with a little luck it might find a herd of deer.

The climb is especially favored by those seeking a completely different angle of approach to the mount Rinjani. For centuries this route has been used by a Hunter and fishermen seeking their prey in the dense forest and Crater Lake.

The climb is not offering a chance to climb up to the Summit of Mount Rinjani, unless you plan to bring a rubber boat to paddle across to the side of the crater lake Segara Anak. If one wants to do that our team can accommodate one.
