Winding up of National Internship Program, Irresponsible decision

The winding up of National Internship Program by Federal Government is not a good decision unlike of those that were essential for better administration and management of Central Government. National Internship Program had some weak aspects, however, it was more beneficial and helpful for those who were just in the initial stages of their career soon after leaving their institution. It was not just a source of experience, training and a meager amount of earning but it provided confidence, guidance and practical learning that might not be achieved through centuries old text books and outdated education system.

Since the establishment National Internship Program it trained about 27000( in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) new comers with at least 5000 every year in different fields with the full support of several private and public sector organization,

Internship is considered an essential assignment for Masters Students connected with technical and managerial fields. The internship report and certificate are considered a guarantee of experience, capability and eligibility for any career.

The irrational decision of Federal Government besides, un employing thousand of students currently working on various internship projects, would create a shortage of experienced professionals among the fresh candidates.

Now the Provincial Government should take meaningful steps to assume the responsibility by establishing an authentic institution that may streamline the experienced and skilled professionals in order to a way to developed Pakistan.

Public Transport Problem in Peshawar

I would like to draw the kind attention of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other supreme authorities on the ban on public transport on Khyber Road Peshawar. Geographically, Khyber Road is located in the centre of Peshawar city, which connects it with other districts. Everyday, thousand of vehicles transports goods from the big markets to the small town and villages of Peshawar. Millions of people use it to commute from their homes to offices, schools, universities, markets and other workstation, totally depending on public transport that run on this road. Khyber Road used to be fully closed on every session of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Assembly, which caused high traffic jam, difficulties in access to hospitals, public insecurity and public irritation. Was it not enough for Provincial Government to tease general public? That recently, general buses to Warsak road, No 10 vegans and buses to Karkhano and transport to Hayatabad were completely banned or diverted to cant routs just because they were passing on a road that leads to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Assembly and they were assumed to be a problem in high security of Provincial Ministers and MPAs.

I just want to put a question to Provincial Government that is it right to trouble millions of citizens just for the rest of only few politicians? Is it right to endanger the lives of millions of citizens just for the safety of few so called public representatives? However it is not possible for everybody to buy himself a bullet proof car or just a simple car to drop children to schools, universities or to pay high fare of taxi or rickshaw that may or may not be more than his daily earning. How can he be prosper and happy if hi is in trouble just by those whom he elected and hoped to get full security, peace and equality.

I request the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other authorities to lift ban on public transports on Khyber Road, because it’s the only mean of transportation to many school, universities and other workstation.

If it is not possible for Provincial Government (just like corruption, poor law and order etc) than for the betterment of citizen of Peshawar, Provincial Assembly, Cant Area and other sensitive areas should be shifted to a jungle that is more secure and better place for high security plans of politicians if not than I am sure shifting of sensitive area a least will be a little relief to Students, workers and other citizens that uses Khyber Road public transport for commuting.

Inflation, umemployment and Pakistan

      Besides the petroleum and other commodities, the prices of vegetable are now out of the reach of public too. It has been said that the prices of necessary commodities especially prices of vegetables will be at its original prices after the come round of the disaster of flood, but not a single penny change was observed during last few month. The lower class which was mainly depending on two time meals, is seems loosing it last hope to earn livelihood and then to get necessary things to survive even the middle class is unable to defeat sky touching prices from their limited income resources.
      Recently Pakistan imposed ban on exporting onion to India in response India also took banning decision for exporting tomatoes to Pakistan. In result both the prices of onion and tomatoes increased approximately to Rs 100/kg.But because of some reason India resumed the trade of tomatoes after three days.
Pakistan is an agricultural country and 70% of its population belongs to agriculture sector but despite this it is unable to fulfill the demand of its own citizens and we have to import vegetable, wheat and sugar from other countries. A question arises that being so good in producing vegetables and wheat why we have to import vegetables from other countries and why should we depend upon other countries. Our products and crops are estimated enough for our own use and it is estimated that we would be able to export it to other countries but it reveals insufficient for only one province. Pakistan was producing enough sugar but now it has to import from other countries. A question force to think that where does they go. So the main reason for this scarcity is illegal smuggling of vegetables and wheat to Afghanistan. Daily hundred of trucks of vegetables are smuggled to Afghanistan because they pay good price as compared to Pakistani. So an artificial dearth of commodities is created and public is compelled to purchase things on higher rates.
      I on behalf of millions of poor Pakistani, request the government of Pakistan to take strict action against illegal smuggler and exporter and to fix the rates and quantity of vegetables according to it demand in our country to bring down the prices of necessary commodities and to pay full remuneration to local farmers.

Pakistan Agricultural Output and Problems

The economy of Pakistan heavily depends upon the gains from the agricultural sectors which include the cultivation of major crops like wheat, maze, rice, sugarcane and vegetables. Few years back the agricultural sector was producing enough output to fulfill the requirements of Pakistan as well as there left enough production to export it to other countries as well. But now despite being facilitated by modern machines and technologies agricultural sector is continuously falling downward, instead of flourishing and developing. The reason are :Decrease in agricultural land due to using it for construction of mega projects/houses, shortage of water, shortage of quality seeds, fertilizers and pesticides, flood and negligence of concern authorities of State Government. The high rates of fluctuation in prices also discourage the farmers to produce more production.

The deficits in agricultural sector can be controlled if the state government imposes a ban on non agricultural projects on agricultural lands; this step will not only ensure the maximum availability of lands to the farmers but will maximize the output per acres. The government should encourage the citizens to build the houses, building and market in residence and commercial areas only and fixed amount of land should be allocated for agriculture. Research and experiments should be carried out with the help of agricultural researcher and experts in order to increase the overall production through better management, modern techniques and methods of production. These all remedies will help the agricultural sector to minimize the deficit financing in exports and imports of Pakistan and stabilizing the crashed economy.

NEGLECTED SERVICE CADRE IN KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA

In order to facilitate the business of the State with regard to provision of public services and Armed services, different cadres of such services have been devised to run its affairs smoothly and in the public interests. For example Central Superior Services, Provincial Management Services, Police Services, Armed Force Services, Judicial services etc. However, to assist and help the officers of the above major services groups in performance of their respective duties, certain cadres in the lower echelon are also there for which clear job description of its employees have been carved out so that every person may contribute his input within its own parameter of job description. That is why the ministerial staff, i.e. Superintendent, Private Secretary, Personal Assistant, Assistant, Senior Clerk Junior Clerk, Daftari, Qasids and Niab Qasids, is there to perform their mandatory duties as per their job description.

I would take this opportunity to spell out the criteria for the selection of above categories of staff so that the reader could be very clear about the selection, qualification and other enabling requirements.

The incumbent position of Superintendent is always filled through promotion made amongst the serving Assistants formerly in BS-11 now the incumbent posts have been upgraded to BS-14. For the Selection of Assistant there is some percent of ratio maintained as direct recruitment through Public Service Commission with graduation as basic qualification and a portion of ratio maintained by promotion amongst the serving Senior Clerks. Senior Clerk is a position which is filled out and out amongst the serving Junior Clerks. The position of Junior Clerk is filled through Departmental Selection Committee in the Establishment Department. However, there is some ratio for appointment of Junior Clerks maintained through promotion of Daftaris, the very position, which is filled through promotion amongst the staff of Qasids and Naib Qasids.

The position of Junior scale stenographer and Senior Scale Stenographer is filled through Public Service Commission directly whereas the positions of Personal Assistant and is filled amongst the serving Senior Scale Stenographers and that of Private Secretary is filled through promotion amongst the serving Personal Assistants.

Before recounting the prejudice meted out with the Stenographers, it would not be in line with justice, if their working conditions and their output is not highlighted.

Stenographer is an official whose timing is not known even to their family members. He is always engaged with the officers who usually sit late till late at night without any conveyance to go to home, without any food to eat and without any remuneration for extra work after office hours.

Since the job of an Assistant that is putting up of PUCs, noting drafting can easily be done by Stenographer hence normally the entire staff of the office leave in time and no body ask about such leaving of the staff as the officer do not feel any inconvenience in their leaving, the Stenographer besides connecting telephones, dealing with guests, preparing meeting schedules, putting up files, checking noting drafting, flagging the files and even recording the files in dak books for delivering to the other officers also draft letters and noting for the officers.

If it is ADP, or Budget, meeting or wedding ceremony typing wedding card or arrangement of marriage Halls, going to A.G. office to settle the issues of salary or G.P. fund of the officers or going to Income Tax Officer for tax return, en-cash cheques of the officers from bank or any other personal or private duty of the officers, it is the P.A. who is responsible for all these activities in addition to their official duties thanks to the clause in the job description of Stenographers which reads “ To assist the officer as he may direct”. However, if anything goes wrong in the performance of above mentioned personal duties; they are proceeded with under R.S.Os and other disciplinary proceedings the acts the stenographer does on the order of his immediate officer.

Computer is a new technology and to operate the computers only computer operators is responsible who have extra qualification in computer science to run the computers. But in each section and offices of higher officers it is the stenographer to operate the computers in M.S. Word, Excel and Power Point which is the basic duty of Computer Operator.

Here are some plus points which obliquely tilt towards the capacity, competency and ability of a Stenographer compared to other cadres of ministerial staff.

It would not be out of place to mention the additional qualification of typing and Shorthand other than the general qualification of the other cadres of Ministerial staff, for the position of Stenographer. It is an admitted fact that Shorthand is a course which can only be qualified by those individuals who have a very good command over the English language and who are competent enough as it is well known to everyone that shorthand is a language of symbols and symptoms and only those can interpret and explain these symbol who are capable and knowledgeable

At the same time, they have a very good command over computer operation including Excel, Power Point, M.S. Words etc etc which is the basic job of Computer Operators as stated above.

They have sufficient amount of exposure with the officers of DMG/OMG PMS/etc. that is why these officers are more dependant on this category of Ministerial staff than the others.

In the same process they go through files, documents, notes etc prepared right from the level of Assistant to that of the Deputy Secretary, Additional Secretary and finally Secretary of the Department, hence they remain always in the limelight and thus are capable even to perform the job of Assistant, Superintendent and Section Officer as is evident in the various departments of Civil Secretariat.

Owing to the organizational involvement of the above category of staff with the highly qualified officers they are always very disciplined and law abiding people , thanks to this attribute, they always suffered in the hands of vested interests.

In order to re-enforce the above mentioned truth regarding the capability of stenographers, I am tempted to quote the saying of Amir Syed Hussain as under:-

The Quaid is once believed to have said that Pakistan was made by him, his private Secretary(K.H Khurshid) and his typewriter.

Again I will quote the sagacious saying of our great Quaid which were recorded in the book namely “Development Priorities of the Founding Father”:-

In March, 1944, the Quaid asked the Muslim Students at Aligarh to “ divert attention from mere clerkships. I have no objection to your becoming BAs and MAs a certain amount of general education and training is necessary. But mere degrees of BAs and MAs are of no use. Of course, there are the handicaps,. There are hardly any channel for you to go into. But while you are studying for BA and M.A. you should learn shorthand and typewriting which you can easily do. The market value of BA or MA with knowledge of shorthand and typewriting is a least three times that of a mere BA or MA. It is an admitted fact, All parise be to Allah, every stenographer is not less than MA or BA.

Let me share with you the sad saga of neglected cadre of Stenographers. The following working environment, duties and promotion chances would lead one to conclude that only discrimination and prejudice is meted out with this class of government servants.

i) A stenographer is promoted four times in the same scale i.e. in BS-15 from BS-12 encompassing the time lag of 15 to 16 years of service.

ii) Stenographers with the qualification of BA and MA, appointed in BS-12 in January 1984, are at the moment in BS-15 after rendering service of 27 years.

iii) They are in the office till late at evening and night as their officers are normally remain present in their offices till late after office hours but no overtime, lunch or pick and drop is provided to them.

iv) In the absence of Clerk or Assistant stenographer performs the duties of this cadre of Government Servants but taking dictation in shorthand and typing them out is out of the competence of Junior Clerk and Assistants.

v) The promotion of the Stenographer is lizard slow compared to the promotion of the staff of other Ministerial Cadre.

vi) Being a separate cadre this cadre is mixed with the other cadre of Ministerial Staff for the purpose of promotion. It is such an example that you mix the seniority of advocates and doctor jointly.

vii) During promotion to the post of Section Officer amongst the staff of Private Secretaries and Superintendent whose seniority falls upon the same date same time but instead of taking into consideration the age of Superintendent or Private Secretary that is to say whosoever is older should be promoted, the Superintendent is promoted irrespective of the considering the important rule e.g. promotion of the individual who is older in age.

viii) It is any irony of fate that the person who is appointed for the specific job of computer i.e. computer Operator is paid Computer Allowance but the person that is Stenographer whose job is not to operate and run the computer but he does this better than computer operator is denied this allowance.

ix) He always remains under pressure due to workload of immediate nature from the higher officers but no appreciation from the officers is there to at least, emotionally console the stenographers.

x) If he comes a bit late, leave a bit earlier rules and clauses are there to apply upon them but no matter if the holder of other cadre of Ministerial staff does this goes with full immunity.

xi) Due to above mentioned reasons and facts a stenographer either gets retired in BS-15 or 16 and in rare cases in BS-17.

In order to dispense with justice and mete out the treatment for which this class of Government servants is deserved, I shall request the individuals who are in the helm of a position through which they can dispense justice to this class of government servants, to come forward and help this class out. This benign action to relieve this class of the discrimination, will be remembered for a long time to come.

Japan earthquake and tsunami

Japan is located in a region where several oceanic earth plates meet each other. The earthquakes of low magnitude are not considered devastating because they do not cause any damage.However, the earthquake on Friday 11 March 2011 was one of the strongest and powerful earthquakes ever recorded in the history of that country. Prior to this devastating disaster of earthquake in Japanese history, there had been a number of other earthquakes too, in 1896 a strong earthquake hit Japan with a magnitude of 8.5 which claimed 27000 lives. In 1923 another earthquake hit Japan which killed 100000 people and same were injured. Last time in 1995 a powerful earthquake (Magnitude 7.2) hit the city of Kobe, the death toll was 6000 and 415000 people were injured up to 100000 houses were completely destroyed.

The recent earthquake on 11 March 2011 was the strongest earthquake in the history of Japan disasters with the magnitude of 8.9. It has created a vast tsunami which entered in eastern coast of Japan sweeping cars, buildings and other barriers in its way and caused a state of emergency at nuclear plants in Sendai about 200 miles northeast of Tokyo after a nuclear plant lost power and shut down..One of five nuclear plants has greatly damaged due to earthquake.Quantity of Radiation of radiation has increased 1000 time than its normal level,If the radiation would have not controlled properly than the consequences could be worst than Chernobyl nuclear reactor catastrophe 25 years ago. however the Japanese Nuclear Safety agency said that they radiation outside the plant is 8th times than the normal and this level of exposure is not dangerous to general population. They said that they are trying to overcome to this problem after President Obama said to take all safety precaution.

National disaster Management Authority has issued warning to its other states too. All the images showed great damages to infrastructure. economy and lives. The aftershocks followed by earthquake were of low magnitude. The tsunami hit Russia, Taiwan, Indonesia and Hawaii but the loss and the height of waves were much smaller than those in Japan.

United Nation and US government has announce full support to Japan in rescue activities and all the rest of world is ready to help whatever they can do.

International Women's Day

China which is now on the top in the category of developed countries, which is the biggest producer of electronics, cloths and ammunitions and considered to be the next super power of the world, would have not been so developed if their leaders had not scarified their lives for the people. The Chinese leader Mochihashi brought revolution in China which has completely changed the picture of China. Before the revolution of Taiypeng China was like the Arab before the advent of Islam in the days of ignorance

An interesting aspect of Taiypeng movement was getting ride of capitalisms, feudalism, and inequality between pubic and rulers and women’s rights. Women were treated like cattle and were thrown in to the rivers at birth or were fasten like prisoners. Approximately one lac women participated in Taiypeng movement which includes some generals. This Chinese aspect shows that the Chinese leaders were greatly impressed by Islam, which was brought by Abu Waqas a disciple of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). Now because of Islam Chinese women are given the right of being a human being and are working in different fields of life.

Taiypeng movement was one of hundreds movements which has ruled China for a long time. The founder and organizer of this movement was a school teacher Mr.Heng Shew Choan who was dismissed by a lavish emperor. Then he motivated the people by numbers of articles against Confucianism and entrusted the public to give them back their rights on their state affairs. Majority of people in China do not believe in any faith however they have realized the others right and duties.

8^th March is observed as International Women’s Day all over the world but the claims are confined to the emotional speeches only. The man made laws are considered laws when they are followed without the difference of cast, status and standard. On this special occasion of 8^th March Government should draw its little attention toward women’s rights. Women are suffering from different evils of society. The declaration of Haqooq-e-Naswan (women’s rights) is not enough to realize the duties but the implementation is necessary to get the desirable results.

Dr. Muhammad Younis Grameen Bank

Poverty and high population rate are said to be the biggest challenges to the world in next few decades. Regarding this thousands of financial assistance institutions and NGOs are working all over the world, which are trying to utilize all their available resources in order to bring down the rate of poverty, even in developed countries. But due to lack of good management and weak points in policies or method of operation, not all the organizations have achieved their targets. If some of them have been succeeded in their mission their achievements are not enough.

Grameen Bank and its others institutions has great contribution in bringing down poverty and unemployment in all over the world, particularly in Bangladesh. The founder of Grameen bank Dr. Muhammad Younus has devoted his whole life in serving the poor. He was a young man from Bangladesh with a PhD in economics from America with enthusiasms of serving his nation. While serving as a head of economics department he was wondered about the fact that his subject could collect the statistics but it was unable to solve their problems. He believed that an individual can change the lives of thousands and assuming it as a target he began to do what he was able of.

He found out the main cause of poverty and then started helping the poor by lending them little money, which they needed to make livelihood. At beginning he lent only $27 to forty families from his own pocket. He further expended his mission with the financial assistance and encouragement of his companions. He thought that human beings are not born to suffer the misery of huger and poverty. That was a thought which lead him to his destination. Grameen bank was established in 1976 with the amount of $27. It had lent $2.3 billion to 2.3 million families in 1998. In 1997 Micro credit summit was held in which 3000 people participated from 176 countries and appreciated the services of Dr. Muhammad Younus.

Now the idea of micro credit is being used all over the world which has been proven best formula for minimizing the poverty. Dr. Muhammad Younus was awarded noble prize in 2006 for his unforgettable services to the poor. Pakistan also adopted the method of Grameen bank for micro finance but due to negligence of management the loans are being utilized in other unproductive activities. The aim of bringing down the rate of poverty will be fulfilled if the loans are given to the right person and if the loans are being checked and balanced.

Bloody Oil Revolution

The worst law and order situation of Egypt after the clash between Egyptian government and citizens had gone out of the hand of its government and law enforcement bodies. This incident had turned down the government of Hosni Mubarak but it had warned and taught a good lesson to Pakistani government .Our government is now frighten of the bloody revolution which has been claimed to be on the doorstep of Pakistan. And it is quite clear that it will come if the government continues to increase the prices of commodities, then the situation of our country will be worst then the bloody revolution of Egypt and Tunisia.

The oil and gas regulation authority decision about keeping the prices of petroleum products unchanged for the month of February and refusing the release demand of the Raymond Davis are evident that our government is fully aware of the consequences of such steps and it is trying to be sincere to the citizen of Pakistan from last few days, and I hope It will be sincere in the future too. May Allah put some mercy in their hearts for the poor and give them the ability to refuse the dictation of enemies in future.

Wikileaks' leaks

Jaulian assange appeared as a hero in the end of 2010 by disclosing the political and international secrets and conspiracies through a well supported website WIKILEAKS.Wikileaks was supported by different communities in the world only because it raised the slogan for freedom of expressing ideas and thinking. As it is well know that a truth can not be covered through lies and realities are disclosed when ever lies get a little weaker. Same situation was in the case of wikileaks, in 2008 it was appeared as a simple website with few videos about American army and number of documents but it shocked the entire world in 2010 by disclosing more than 2000 confidential and secret documents from all over the world with the aim of revealing the hidden realities and secrets.

It faced huge pressure and opposition from political world as it revealed the first few leaks and then the pressure and threats from American government increased as it disclose the next few documents. The first step taken against wikileaks was to pressurizing the Amazon server to stop hosting the web site and to freeze and unable all the related link to wikileaks. After a few hours the services of Visa card/Master card as well as the accounts of wikileaks were frozen which created a big problem in paying people who shared closed secrets with them.

After closing all the ways the government thought that the ready to burst volcano would be calm down but it was surprised when the wikileaks restarted disclosing from a different domain. The government once again used all its resources to ban wikileaks and this time it was succeeded in doing so.

Jaulian assange fought fearlessly with government when he came to know that the government is not going to spare wikileaks on any cost and when it was surrounded by financial problems. The supporter supported their hero from all over the world. They got together and decided to utilize full power in supporting it. All of them have gathered on facebook and than plan to hack different servers which stopped hosting wikileaks. Up to 15000 supporters used hacking software which could send thousands of requests at a time. In result the different servers got a high crowd and they got a little problem in hosting websites efficiently. At last different server could not stand on their decision and reformed the links and other things.

All credit goes to the founder of wikileaks and his team who fought with the evils and explored the truth and realities to the world which might not be possible without the wikileaks.The wikileaks again started disclosing conspiracies and will be disclosing time to time which can be dangerous for politicians but they have been proved a big achievement for rest of world. I hope the politicians must have learnt a little lesson and they will be conscious next time.

and other countries. But due to lack of parking facilities and considering bicycle as a sign of inferiority public is discouraged in using it. Today most of middle class Pakistani use bicycle for commuting and transportation but they face parking problems especially in government-offices and public places. In foreign countries special lanes are constructed for bicycle riders and if a car driver breaks the law or cross the cycle rout or lane then he is challaned by traffic wardens. Special allowance is provided to employees and students who use bicycle. In many other countries bicycle is provided on rent and in some countries it is given free for one hour. Our government should lend loans for provision of bicycle of standard rates and quality, without interest and should undertake a campaign for awareness regarding usage of bicycle. Then by using bicycle the citizens will be attracted toward saving and the problems of pollution and burden of high petroleum expenses will be decreased.

Fake Educational Academies

I would like to draw kind attention of Education Department and other concerned authorities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, toward much neglected issue of general public, especially parents of students of Warsak Road. Several fake educational institutions and academies have started looting general public. Some of them have got registration from different boards and Education department. The staff of such fake institutions is untrained and inexperienced to deliver quality education. They do not have skilled teachers for computers and technical courses. Teachers for English language courses are not qualified. It has been observed that most of such like institutions do not use necessary teaching aids e.g. science equipment, globe, maps, which are essential parts of quality teaching. The academies and institutions recruit a person which demand or agree on minimum pay, as a result the students cannot learn standard lesson due to inability of teachers. Parents send their children and then expect good results but have to regret at the end. Concerned authorities such as Skill Development Council, Technical Education Board and other relevant departments, which registered them, don’t bother to visit and check the feasibility; as a result they are encouraged to ruin the future of students. These fake educational s and academies just collects the fee, they do nothing but to fill their pockets. I myself had experience of such institutions and registered academies. I wasted my precious time and money but, when I realised the reality I left it. I request the Education Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Skill Development Council and Technical Education Board to take strict action against such institutions and to visit and check the looting business of such fake institutions because it is the matter of youth, the future of Pakistan.

Pak-China Friendship

Apropose declaration 2011 as the “Pak-China Friendship Year” by the Federal and Provincials Governments of Pakistan. There is a saying that a friend in need is a friend indeed. No doubt that China is a friend of Pakistan without any expectations or greed, a true friend who not only full filled the high formalities of being neighbor country but also supported Pakistan in every thick and thin.

The diplomatic relationship between Pakistan and China was started in May 1951, a bit after emerging as a new state. Despite being so difference in religions, localities, culture, social and economic status, both were as compulsory elements for each other. China had been a great source for military assistance and it had played a vital role in stabilizing Pakistan in military and defense prospect. The establishment of Heavy Industries Taxila and Heavy Industries Taxila Education City are the examples of Chinese interest in stabilization of Pakistan in defense and military fields.

China supported Pakistan at the time when Soviet Union attacked on Afghanistan and encouraged Pakistan when India threaten on Mumbai attacks, by promising financial aid and military assistance. The difference in China and Pakistan is territory, distance, language and culture but the mind set and thinking are same.

Pakistan valuing the friend ship of China started free trade agreement which is continues till today.

Pakistan also supported China in the issue of Taiwan, Xingjian and Tibet.

In the words of Chinese President Hu Jan Tao the Pak-China friendship is higher than mountains and deeper than the oceans. By exchange of modern technology, military ammunition and arms, investing capital, training experts, providing financial assistance and bringing up thoughtful peace in south Asia through dialogue with other countries both the countries have written unforgettable friendship in the history with the golden words. I pray to God that this precious friendship of China and Pakistan may last for ever.

She-males demand

It is apropos of news in daily The News dated 13-01-2011, with title “She males demanded representation in parliament.” The she-males association has demanded representation in National Assembly and Senate to protect and fight for their fundamental rights in Pakistan.

I support their demand and request the legislators to form a law through which the she-males can get their representation equal in ratio as given to minority and others. I think through this they will not only defend their own rights but the rights of billions of other Pakistani, in a best way, who are on road and behind the bars in a fighting with powerful politicians, government and other influential hierarchy and who do not have money to bribe or relatives in ruling parties and committing suicides because of unemployment and poverty. The representation of she-males in parliament would decrease the problems of corruption, poor law and orders etc, because they do not have children and mainly their family is consisted about few members. So the chances of embezzlements, corruption and filling their bank accounts for children through public money will be zero. Secondly they have union and equality in their community so their will be minimum chances for war of words and unlike our politicians they will not waste their time in accusing one another.

And after all the issues of good governance and bad governance will be solved and our politicians will learn a lesson, if they won’t, then I am sure they (politicians) will probably feel a little shame.

I request the legislators to think about it for a while, isn’t it beneficial for Pakistan and its citizens?

Pak-India onion and tomato war

Recently Pakistan imposed ban on exporting onion to India in response India also took banning decision for exporting tomatoes to Pakistan. In result both the prices of onion and tomatoes increased approximately to Rs 100/kg.But because of some reason India resumed the trade of tomatoes after three days.

Pakistan is an agricultural country and 70% of its population belongs to agriculture sector but despite this it is unable to fulfill the demand of its own citizens and we have to import vegetable, wheat and sugar from other countries. A question arises that being so good in producing vegetables and wheat why we have to import vegetables from other countries and why should we depend upon other countries. Our products and crops are estimated enough for our own use and it is estimated that we would be able to export it to other countries but it reveals insufficient for only one province. Pakistan was producing enough sugar but now it has to import from other countries. A question force to think that where does they go. So the main reason for this scarcity is illegal smuggling of vegetables and wheat to Afghanistan. Daily hundred of trucks of vegetables are smuggled to Afghanistan because they pay good price as compared to Pakistani. So an artificial dearth of commodities is created and public is compelled to purchase things on higher rates

I on behalf of millions of poor Pakistani, request the government of Pakistan to take strict action against illegal smuggler and exporter and to fix the rates and quantity of vegetables according to it demand in our country to bring down the prices of necessary commodities and to pay full remuneration to local farmers.

Forgetting our Heroes

Pakistan was formed after great struggle and scarifies, but its main goal is still not achieved after 63 years of its freedom. We have forgotten the mission of Quaid-e-Azam and scarifies of lakhs of heroes, who wished to see Pakistan a symbol of unity, hospitality, affection and equality. The freedom of Pakistan became possible because of great services of Quaid-e-Azam. Despite illness and rest prescription from doctors he refuses to take rest saying “have you heard about a General taking holiday when his army is fighting in a battlefield? After that Indian politician acknowledges herself that Pakistan would have not been formed if we had only one Quaid-e-Azam and Muslims had hundred of Gandhis.

Dr.Abdul Qadeer Khan is the personality, after Quaid-e-Azam, who stood Pakistan in a category of highly secured and equipped countries, but in reward he was awarded with home arrest and treated as a prisoner in his own Pakistan. And often pointed as danger for Pakistan and world.

So how a nation can be a developed nation and how it will not be deviated from its destination if it forgot the great struggles of his heroes. The struggle of Quaid-e-Azam and Dr A.Q khan was not for themselves; it was for me, you and billion of others Pakistani. But we still refuse the unity, faith and discipline of Quaid-e-Azam. We fight each other for power and money but did we fight for the mission of Quaid-e-Azam, Allama Iqbal and thousands of other Muslims who scarified their live for freedom of Pakistan?

Beautiful view of Kashmir

The effects of Kashmir dispute gradually increasing since last decade in south Asia. This issue was highlighted in United Nation but did not receive any satisfactory response, and there is no hope for taking further steps in this regard. On the other hand human rights claimers totally ignored the atrocities of Indian army on Kashmiries. Every day a new issue rises in Kashmir and lakhs of Kashmiries have lost their lives in a struggle to get self determination, true independence and free territory rights.

From an angle, Pakistan is not doing enough to solve this issue. Pakistan has got a part of Kashmir by name of “Azad Jammu and Kashmir’ but set the rest of it to India for playing bloody game. Pakistan should quit trade and other relations, with India, until the right solution of Kashmir issue, as China protested in last visit of Prime Minister to India and prior to this pressurized India, in different way, to execute solution.

Kashmir is said to be the paradise on earth and a treasure of natural resources. But it is losing its beauty due to the negligence of political world. As President Obama was entrusted about solving this issue but he also kicked out it form his agenda because it was against the will of Indian government.

Kashmir issue had great importance for Quaid-e-Azam.He felt unhappy that this problem was delayed. His wish to free Kashmir was not fulfilled during his life-time, but I think it would have been resolved if Quaid-e-Azam have not been died soon.

Currently, Kashmir issue totally depends upon the leadership of Pakistan, India and Kashmir but international community will have to exert pressure on India. Pakistan needs to undertake a campaign for Kashmir freedom and United Nation needs to wake up to the clear reality and should pass a resolution for stopping Indian atrocities in Kashmir and freedom of Kashmir according to the will of Kashmir citizens.

IMF and RGST

This is with reference to news in leading newspapers of Pakistan (21.12.2010) with titled “Pakistan asks IMF for 3 to 6 months extension.” Pakistan has requested IMF for 3 to 6 months extension in $11.3 billion stand by agreement. In response IMF official are visiting Pakistan in next couple of days for assurance from President Zardari or Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.

I think IMF officials is visiting Pakistan for pressurizing government to impose RGST, the biggest dispute between public and government, which is an act of snatching livelihood from poor public.

As for as the loan of IMF is concerned I have not seen financing any development project or the best utilization of foreign loans. Every government feels proud to take such liability and especially now it has adopted a shape of competition. Every new government is found trying to get a competitive advantage by getting success in acquiring foreign loans by pledging nation and then fulfill the penalty by sacrificing poor public.

My question is that why do they get loans for development of Pakistan (which they claim, but not in reality) if they know that they will have to sacrifice the poor citizens by imposing dozen of taxes in order to pay it back?

Isn’t there any other way to develop Pakistan, instead getting credit with too much restrictions and conditions?

Tax cut

As apropos of the news on Private T.V channel that American congress has been succeeded in approving the tax cut bill from House of Representatives as 148 votes were against this bill but it finally passed with majority of 277 votes. Now this bill is going to be submitted to President Obama .I hope, president Obama will clear it as it is the wish of Americans well-wishers. American government always busy in relieving its citizens by creating new jobs, cutting taxes, maintaining social and economic equality etc. Every policy of government gets full support of its citizens, in result government always succeeded in achieving their targets.

On the other hand, Pakistani government increasing burden by imposing different taxes. Some time in shape of flood tax, some times by the name of RGST and VAT but all of them have one and common purpose.

Prices of daily necessities of life have been tripled for last two years. A middle class family is unable to get two time meal. Public is on strikes, Industries have been closed downed; economy has been collapsed but government obstinate to implement new taxes.

We should learn from our neighbors countries India, China, Iran, I did not see any strike or long march against forcibly imposed taxes. They get full support from their citizens because they know it is beneficial for them.

I request the Pakistani government to take such steps to minimize the unwanted burden from Pakistanis in order to give them an opportunity to survive in society. Implementing new taxes is not the solution of deficit budget, it should minimize their expenses, and should control embezzlement and corruption than all problems will be solved itself.
