Let us admit it. Christianity today has a monopolistic control of people’s minds in most of the developed world. Without us realizing it, many aspects of our thoughts and lives are controlled and shaped in the way the Church wants. Christian groups spend billions in media and cultivating celebrities and politicians to maintain this dominant position. Aside from the obvious attack on women’s rights to their own body and the suppression of the large scale sexual abuses of children by priests worldwide, the psychological damage this monopoly position has had on society in terms of restricting progress and keeping people in guilt, ignorance and bondage is immeasurable. How else can you explain how educated people in a developed country still believe that the earth is flat, the sun moves around the earth and that the universe was created 6000 years ago in 6 days!

The fundamental way Christianity keeps people under their control is by painting a horrible caricatured view of the other – the antichrist, satan, hell and so on. Anyone who is deemed a threat to the Church can be destroyed by calling them as Satan’s agents. In the middle ages the Church attacked and terrorized all traditional religions – especially those led by women – as pagans, heathens and witches. Women were hunted and burnt alive on a large scale sending terror amongst the followers leading eventually the complete mental colonization of Europe. The Vatican was quite the ISIS of its times. But only successful. They have normalized the screaming faces of women when being burnt as the canonical caricature for witches so much so that people today don’t even flinch a bit when using the term “witch hunt” or imagining witches as evil, screaming hags. As I said, success.

Though they have managed to weasel out of and skillfully erase their affiliations to the Nazis, it is an open secret that the Christian church was strongly behind the de-humanizing and subsequent genocide of the Jews in Europe (as a punishment for their role in the killing of Jesus). The Church was rewarded for its contribution and support to Hitler and Mussolini with getting full statehood for the Vatican giving it even more power to penetrate into the minds of people.

The most recent arsenal in the Christian propaganda toolkit is that of portraying any reform movement asking for progress as a “cult”. The sole definition of a cult as per Christian mouth pieces such as Dr Phil is that they don’t teach people Christian “values”. Any movement that liberates people from the status quo will require a strong personality. In fact, Jesus Christ himself might have been called a “cult leader” in his times. And sure enough he was even murdered for it. The Church put a positive spin on the murder and capitalized on the marketing rights. But what happened to Jesus was nothing but a targeted assassination and “CULT.ing” (if I can make-up that word) of what was then a progressive new religious leader and his movement.

Christianity has created a bland commercial enterprise with monopolistic control. They are way past the founding phase where the person creating the startup needs to provide vision and clarity. Hence they attack any charismatic leader by portraying them as cult leaders. This way they can be sure their flock won’t go exploring any progressive ideologies and remain confined to their cages.

Christianity and Islam – the Coke and Pepsi duopoly – of the religious world, though appearing to be in competition work together to destroy progress in the spiritual development of human beings. Hinduism on the other hand is the startup ecosystem built on innovation. It has, for millennia, encouraged and welcomed the new while still allowing the old to remain and provide wisdom to those who choose it. More than 10,000 sampradayas or sovereign traditions exist in Hinduism including large ones which are recognized as religions because of their reach such as Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism and so on. Every tradition was created by a startup leader of great charisma and vision – Shankara, the Buddha, Mahavira, Guru Nanak and so on; not to mention Paramashiva himself, Lord Krishna and other incarnations who were all revolutionaries of their times.

“CULT.ing YOU” is the way organized multinational religions fight against the threat of progressive, startup religions. It is a powerful weapon in the Christian media toolkit to protect their monopolies while pretending to be working in the interest of freedom and liberal thinking. Pagans, Heathens, Witches, Cults – instilling the fear of the other by any name – is the way to keep your flock together and make them continuously contribute to the church mafia to protect them from the guilts of imaginary, manufactured sins and a non-existent hell.

Other Readings:
psychologytoday.com/us/blog/about-thinking/201607/why-no-one-should-ever-use-the-word-cult
scottcarney.com/blog/why-cult-is-the-wrong-word

“At peace with myself and the world after a visit to Varanasi. A spiritual journey that has rejuvenated the soul,” the 36-year-old wrote in an Instagram post.
The Los Angeles Lakers centre also hailed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi “for magical reformation of the holy city,” and said that the sacred site will continue to inspire many legends.

The Uttar Pradesh Tourism board also shared a video of Dwight Howard’s visit, saying that the “NBA champion @DwightHoward traveled to #Varanasi. He enjoyed witnessing the transcendental Ganga Aarti and shared his experience on his visit to this ancient city of spirituality & culture.”

Varanasi (also known as Kashi) is a city on the river Ganga in northern India. It remains probably the most important Hindu pilgrimage sites, known as tirthas; and it is the holiest of the seven sacred cities, the others being Ayodhya, Mathura, Haridwar, Kanchipuram, Dwarka and Ujjain.

Varanasi is also one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world.

The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashiva has also referred to Varanasi (Kashi) as the Golden City. He has said that – The city of Kashi, or modern day Varanasi, was established thousands of years ago by Mahadeva Himself. Once, the bhootas, ganas and pretas requested Mahadeva to establish a community on the planet Earth. That is when Mahadeva came down on the planet Earth with His disciples, followers, bhootas, pretas and ganas and established the city of Kashi. Only after that did the Ganga flow to Kashi. Kashi is much older than even the Ganga river. The present day Kashi has seven layers of cities under it. It was built and sunk and then rebuilt and again sunk seven times. Even if you dig a bore well in Kashi, seven layers of cities will be found. The whole city is a consolidated experience of the principle of Advaita! It is the consolidated Advaitic experience of millions of enlightened beings. With that the city is built. That is why it is called the “Suvarna Bhoomi”. The city is the “Golden City”(Ref: https://kailasapedia.org/wiki/Varanasi#References).

Dwight Howard was picked by Orlando Magic in the 2004 NBA Draft.
The eight-time All-Star was also part of US ‘Dream Team’ which won the basketball gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Hindus in the town of Swindon in the UK looking for a new temple after their old one was the subject of many thefts have faced racist slurs from some on Facebook after news of new temple plans was revealed.

Plans were submitted to turn the abandoned store on Wroughton High Street in Swindon into a new temple. While many Swindon residents reacted positively to the announcement on the Swindon Community Notice Board – which has a 44,000-strong membership -some individuals responded with abuse.

A post from those who run the page read: “The admin team is very saddened to read some pretty disgusting comments from members tonight. Racists will NOT be tolerated in this group.

“Please don’t bombard admin trying to argue your case, this is a unanimous vote and dm’s with further abuse will NOT be tolerated either!

“Thank you so much to the majority of lovely members of SCNB and we are sorry the minority try to disrupt this harmony.

“It’s very sad that these minority of miserable or racist members feel that their behavior here is ok. It is NOT!”

Hindu temple and cultural center chairman Pradeep Bhardwaj chose to focus on the positive reaction and has spoken of his excitement at the prospect of moving into the new building after being given an initial two-year lease by the council.

“This will be a historic moment for Wroughton. It is so heart-warming to see such a vast majority of residents supporting us overwhelmingly and looking forward to welcoming the Hindu Temple.

“It would not only meet a very urgent/pressing need of the Hindu community in the town, at the same time, it would also benefit the entire area, the local parish & local authority in so many ways.

“It would meet the social, cultural, and religious needs of vulnerable and disadvantaged groups and bring cultural upliftment, improved health, and wellbeing as well as significantly strengthen the multicultural fabric of the local community and enhance the various diverse aspects of the town and village.

“We look forward to resuming all the good work that we have done in the town in the last six years through our religious, social, community, cultural, health and wellbeing, and charitable activities.”

The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism Bhagawan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam has also multiple times alerted and warned us about anti-Hindus and their agenda to deviate and destroy the essence of Hinduism which has always been life positive and in the best interests of the community and society at large.

In his Satsang dated 5th Jan 2021 (www.nithyanandapedia.com) he said, “anti-Hindu elements have created a strong ecosystem. And Hindus are literally getting choked, boxed in through the anti-Hindu media, media and the media forces the government administration always to go against Hindus, and make all the decisions against Hindus, and the legislature is forced to go anti-Hindus, and the judiciary is forced to play for the gallery. Understand this whole ecosystem. The anti-Hindu ecosystem is boxing in the Hindus and choking the Hindu ecosystem”

It is therefore time to wake up against the Anti Hindu elements as well as the Anti Hindu ecosystem just as The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism Bhagawan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam has reminded us time and time again.

The Fire Walking Festival of Japan (Hiwatari Matsuri) is held every year on the second Sunday of March by Buddhist monks in Tanukidani-san Fudō-in at Mt Takao in Tokyo, Japan. Tanukidani-san Fudō-in is a temple that eschews the more traditional Buddhist sect system in favor of the ascetic nature worship of Shugendō. A practice that combines various Buddhist, Shinto, and Taoist sciences, Shugendō can be translated as “the way to spiritual power through discipline”.

Buddhism is just another form of Hinduism. In the Vaishnavite sect of Hinduism, the historic buddha or Gautama Buddha is the ninth avatar among the ten major avatars of the god Vishnu. In contemporary Hinduism the Buddha is revered by Hindus who usually consider Buddhism to be just another form of Hinduism.

Buddhism arrived in Japan by first making its way to China and Korea through the Silk Road and then traveling by sea to the Japanese archipelago. Buddhism first came to China in the first century CE during the Han dynasty, through monks from India. Pls, see below for a detailed map of how Buddhism, just another form of Hinduism, traveled from India into East Asia and eventually onto Japan.

One of the rituals associated both with Shugendō and Fudō Myō’ō worship is the HiwatariMatsuri or Fire Walking Festival. The festival is held on the second Sunday of March each year. In this ceremony, Goma (wooden prayer sticks) are assembled into a pyre to be ritualistically burned, and the still flaming ashes and remnants are then raked flat. They then spread the ambers and prepare two strips through which they walk barefoot and chanting.

The event starts at 1 pm with a procession of chanting monks walking into the main event arena (held in a car park just off the main road). This is followed by rituals and performances by the monks such as fending off evil spirits with various weaponry, flaying their bodies with branches dipped in boiling water.

Shugenja (Shugendō followers) lead the way by walking barefoot across the hot ground before helping the public do the same. This fascinating ritual is not only interesting for its religious components but also helps in healing the body by raising immunity levels.

Senior Airman Darshan Shah is an aerospace medical technician assigned to the 90th Operational Medical Readiness Squadron of the U.S. Air Force. After waiting for years, Shah’s request to be able to wear a Hindu Tilak daily while in Air Force uniform was finally approved.

The U.S. Air Force has very specific and strict guidelines as to what service members can wear while in uniform. Getting his religious symbol approved was a huge blessing for Darshan Shah. The Tilak holds a very special place in his heart as a proud practicing Hindu.

Shah is a practitioner of the B.A.P.S. Swaminarayan Sampradaya of Hinduism and wearing a Tilak-Chandlo daily on the forehead is a very sacred and important part of his spiritual practice as a Hindu. Shah says “It’s who I am. Wearing it is special. It’s my way of getting through hardships and difficulties in life. It provides me with guidance.”

The Tilak-Chandlo is a sign of empowerment for him and it serves as a constant reminder of his Hindu identity and his spiritual practices. The “Tilak” is the U-shaped yellow marking made of Sandalwood and the “Chandlo” is the red dot in the center made of kumkum (processed turmeric). This is a classic symbol applied by the devotees of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, who as per the Swaminarayan Sampradayas of Hinduism, is an incarnation of God.

Darshan Shah faced a lot of uncertainty as such proposals are very rare in western countries where Hindus are a small minority. Being a proud Hindu himself, Shah felt motivated to educate others around him about the significance of the Tilak-Chandlo and put in an official application for clearance to be able to wear it along with his Air Force uniform.

Shah, expressing his excitement said, “It’s something new. It’s something they’ve never heard of before or even thought was possible, but it happened. Wearing the Tilak Chandlo every day to work is amazing, to say it in one word. People around my workplace are giving me handshakes, high-fives and congratulating me, because they know how hard I’ve tried to get this religious accommodation approved.”

Shah’s story is an inspiration to all Hindus around the world to openly express their Hindu identity without fear, shame, or guilt. All Hindu sampradayas have a wide variety of head markings on the forehead and apart from the spiritual significance of the markings, it is also a beautiful display of unity and diversity it represents among all Hindus. Tilaks and Bindis are a sign of empowerment and bliss that Hindus experience through the various beautiful practices and powerful understandings that they represent.

Another incident of forced abduction of a young Hindu girl occurred in Pakistan and this time they took away her life for resisting the criminals. Pooja Oad was an 18-year-old Hindu girl who was shot dead by Wahid Lashari in Rohi, Sukkur, Pakistan as she resisted his abduction attempt.

The minority Hindu community of Pakistan has been facing forced abductions of minor Hindu girls every year who are forcibly married off to their abductors and forcefully converted to Islam. This is not new for the minority Hindu community of Pakistan as thousands of such forced abductions, marriages, and conversions are reported every year.

Young Hindu girls are some of the most marginalized groups of people in Pakistan and their voices are never heard in the mainstream media. Immediately after the abduction, Hindu girls are coerced into saying that they willingly fled their home and are willingly marrying the abductors and willingly converting to Islam. The Hindu girls are recorded on video making these statements under immense pressure on their very life. They see no other option but to succumb to such cunning oppression.

When the family of the Hindu girls seek justice, the coerced video is used as evidence in court cases to say that the girls willingly did what they were forced into. The Hindu girls are further brainwashed and kept in extreme fear for their lives after the forceful marriage to never open their mouths again to demand justice.

Lawyers in Pakistan refuse to take up cases for the minority Hindu community for various systemic reasons. First, there is tremendous pressure created by the extremist forces to not allow anyone to step up to represent Hindus in court. Death threats and blasphemy accusations are hurled at whoever decides to help the minority Hindu community.

Hindus are also a very small minority and they are among the poorest in the country. Hindus in Pakistan do not have adequate wealth to take up big fights in courts or hire proper lawyers to represent them in court. Thus, the anti-Hindu elements prey on the impoverished Hindu community, which has been stripped of its Indigenous land and properties after the illegal and inhumane anti-Hindu partition in the late 1940s.

Pooja resisted the same pattern of abduction and her fate was death. They shot her without any remorse for human life or basic humanity. Such barbarism has been systemic in Pakistani society where Hindus, Christians, and Sikhs are persecuted daily with alarming spikes in such cases happening almost daily. It is about time human rights organizations and the international community step up their responsibility in protecting these marginalized minorities.

Australia is returning twenty-nine ancient Hindu artifacts to India that were stolen and smuggled out of the country. Illegally exporting Hindu artifacts out of India has become a multi-billion dollar international industry with ancient, irreplaceable items being sold in global antique markets.

Australia is returning artifacts, some of which are as old as from the 9th century C.E. These artifacts are stolen from ancient Hindu temples and sacred sites which have worshiped and maintained these outstanding marvels of the Hindu civilization for centuries. These ancient artifacts are awe-striking as such genius designs and sculptings were done at a time devoid of modern-day technology as we know and use today.

The most unfortunate part is many Indians themselves are participating and aiding in this artifact-smuggling business. Our Hindu ancestors have put their lives on the line to maintain and protect the Hindu heritage amidst successive invasions and colonization, yet we do not seem to value their sacrifices and contributions.

Hinduism is a rich tradition, which has exquisite murtis or sacred deities made of various stones, marbles, metals, etc. The ornate designs on temples or the decoration pieces on the sides are all part of a larger story of the ancient Hindu tradition. These “artifacts” are not just artifacts but living stories of our ancestors that speak through the artifacts.

These stolen properties of Hinduism cannot even come close to being valued using normal numerical projections and prices. These are a part of our civilization and cannot be replaced. These international markets stealing and selling our birthright contributes greatly to the religious erasure of Sanatana Hindu Dharma, popularly known as Hinduism.

Such stolen Hindu artifacts exist all around the world and most never make their way back home to where they are supposed to be. Thousands of such artifacts are smuggled every year out of India by hiding them in furniture and textile exports. Just for some money, the perpetrators of this crime are not just committing financial fraud but are actively contributing to religious erasure.

Countless nations have stored such stolen artifacts that have managed to be exported out of India and it is a groundbreaking gesture by Australia to return Hindu artifacts to India where they belong. It is difficult to map exactly where the artifacts belonged but through experimentation and investigation, their original sites can be found for them to be returned appropriately. It is the responsibility of every Hindu to protect Hindu heritage by ensuring such fraudulent activities are kept in check by protecting temples and other sacred Hindu sites where such artifacts are prevalent in large numbers. Australia’s gesture is truly heartwarming and hopefully more countries enact the same.

Nestle have confirmed that it has withdrawn a special range of its KitKat chocolate bar
wrappers featuring Hindu Gods following accusations of hurting Hindu religious sentiments.
Nestle had recently released a limited range of chocolate wrappers globally which had
photos of artwork of Hindu Gods and Goddesses.

The Indian version of the wrapper had images of Hindu deities Jagannath, Balabhadra and
Subhadra to celebrate the crafts of the Indian state of Odisha.

However, the idea of putting Hindu deities on wrappers didn’t sit well with Indians, as many
criticized that the cover might end up in “dustbins, drains, gutters”, which would be
disrespectful of the Hindu gods and the Hindu faith.

Nestle said the intention had been to “celebrate the culture of Odisha with designs on packs
representing ‘Pattachitra’, an art form uniquely identifiable by its vivid imagery”. The
original ‘Pattachitra’ artwork however feature on items that are showcased and respected
for the images they carry, not on wrappers that can be discarded and disrespected as
described above.

After the protest and outcry by Hindus Nestle has said that it had now recalled the KitKat
range from the market.

“We wanted to encourage people to know about the art and its artisans. We do understand
the sensitivity of the matter and regret if we have inadvertently hurt people’s sentiments,”
the company said in a statement.

The above statement by a large multinational firm is typical of the western mentality of
taking Hindu religious sentiments for granted and trying to influence the younger Hindu
generation into thinking that such products/acts are fine.

As stated by the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam in
his discourse dated 18th Jan 2022 (https://nithyanandapedia.org/wiki/January_18_2022) :
“crony capitalism in the field of pharma, food, is not only extremely dangerous, it is causing
irreversible damage to human minds. physically, mentally, psychologically, emotionally, we
are leaving the worst kind of body and mind structure for our next generation”

It is therefore up to us Hindus to become responsible and be on the lookout for such acts of
irresponsibility by Multinationals, western media, etc no matter how minor they may seem.

As the world awakens to the gruesome genocides inflicted on the Indigenous Kashmiri Pandits with the release of The Kashmir Files, it is about time the global community learns about the historic and ongoing persecution of Hindu Gurus. Before we talk about the persecution of Hindu gurus, let us first understand the importance of a Guru in Sanatana Hindu Dharma, popularly known as Hinduism. The ancient Hindu scriptures go to great lengths singing the glory and importance of a guru in a spiritual aspirant’s life.

Every Hindu grows up learning the shloka “GururBrahma GururVishnu GururDevo Maheshwaraha Guru Saakshaat ParaBrahma Tasmai Sri Gurave Namaha.” This verse translates to “Guru is the Creator (Brahma), Guru is the Preserver (Vishnu), GuruDeva is Destroyer (Maheshwara), Guru is the absolute Lord Himself, Salutations to that Sri Guru.”

Most of us blindly chant the above shloka but rarely do we contemplate on the meaning of it. As the shloka explains, Guru is understood as the embodiment and representation of all the great divine beings and the Ultimate manifestation of the Divine Itself. Such is the glory of a Guru in Hinduism. With this context in mind, how come modern-day Hindus have become so distanced from the Indigenous Hindu Guru Paramparas that have sustained Hinduism since time immemorial?

The deadly combination of systemic anti-Hindu invasions, settler-colonialism, colonization, imperialism, vested-interest media outlets, neo-colonial education system, and the onslaught of anti-Hindu bigotry via the South Asian entertainment industries have all collectively ganged up to discredit, delegitimize, and destroy the very backbone of Sanatana Hindu Dharma, which is the Guru-Shishya relationship.

While modern-day Hindus remain clutched in the colonial psyche, anti-Hindu elements have figured out that as long as the Guru paramparas are alive, Hinduism will always be alive. That is precisely the reason why animosity and persecution of Hindu Gurus has amped up in recent decades in an unprecedented way.

Hindu Gurus are often mocked in movies, T.V. shows, digital news media, print media, and social media on a regular basis. It has become a norm for the neo-colonial brown sepoys to denigrate Hindu Gurus and their Sampradayas using a non-Indigenous, western mode of thought based on their limited understanding of Hinduism. The entertainment industries such as Bollywood have released countless movies portraying Hindu sadhus and Gurus as “fake babas” and “con-men.” The entire anti-Hindu media ecosystem terms Hindu Gurus as “godmen” which is a euro-centric model of labeling a religious leader but it does not encapsulate the Hindu understanding of who a Guru is.

Apart from the countless hours of hate speech, Hindu Gurus are also victims of unfair and illegal lawfare where a sizable amount of false cases are hurled at them in an attempt to create negative press, distrust, and animosity toward them in the public eye. When such distrust and negative caricature is systematically painted toward many Hindu Gurus on a large scale, it impacts the psyche of everyday Hindus who lose trust in the Guru Paramparas. Not only do they lose trust, but many misinformed rowdies even take up violence and attack the Guru’s ashrams and devotees due to excessive anti-guru brainwashing.

Apart from character assassination, if the persecuted Hindu Gurus manage to prove their innocence amidst all odds, they are subjected to violent, physical assassination attempts. The goal of anti-Hindu and anti-Guru elements is to eliminate Hindu Gurus who create a positive impact for Indigenous Hindus and revive authentic Hinduism in today’s society.

If the anti-Hindu and anti-Guru elements become successful in eliminating the Hindu Guru, then the death of that Guru will be trivialized and cunningly justified using the help of their proxies in the media. Many times, their death will be spun as a “suicide” in order to cover up the murder. Other times, their death is disgustingly glorified using the false-negative accusations as a justification to celebrate the death as the “victory of good over evil.”

Hindus are entrenched in deep colonial rot and the venom spewed against the Guru-Shishya relationship, which is the foundation that kept the Hindu tradition alive for millennia, is deeply troubling and self-harming. The present-day Hindu community self-sabotages and it is the need of the hour we study and learn about the historic and contemporary persecution happening to Hindu Gurus and how that is directly contributing to the erasure of Hinduism.

We must make the connection that Hinduism and Hindus are suffering because the Guru-Shishya relationship is suffering. The persecution of Hindu Gurus is happening in parallel and in sync with the erasure of Hinduism and Hindus worldwide. These two go hand-in-hand and hold a direct relationship with each other.

It is time to check our internalized anti-guru hatred that we have inflicted on ourselves via our interaction with and trust of institutions like bigoted media outlets and anti-Hindu entertainment industries. The change starts with us. As Hindus, it is our responsibility to hear the perspective of the Hindu Gurus and hear the plight of their persecution, as it is them that are working full-time in the protection and revival of Sanatana Hindu Dharma.

The anti-Hindu genocide in Bangladesh is ongoing with another major attack on a Hindu temple in Wari, located in the Dhaka Division of Bangladesh. An Islamist mob of 100-150 people stormed the Hindu temple chanting genocidal slogans calling for riots and violent desecration of the sacred Hindu space.

The genocidal Islamist mob was led by Mohammed Sufi and Haji Shafiullah, both of whom are now being investigated by the police. Initially, the temple authorities called the police for protection upon hearing the anti-Hindu genocidal chants, but the police refused to believe the temple authorities. Only after begging them persistently for safety and protection after the temple was desecrated, the police finally was forced to investigate the incident.

Hindus in Bangladesh have been facing persecution for centuries. Bangladesh’s population was originally majority Hindu. However, after repeated attacks, invasions, and settler-colonialism, the once-majority Hindu population began shrinking into a very small minority on their own Indigenous lands.

Hindus in Bangladesh have faced major genocides as recent as 1971 where millions of Hindus were killed in broad daylight with no repercussions as the world remained silent. A few months ago during Durga Puja, Bangladeshi Hindus were attacked by Islamist mobs all over Bangladesh where countless Hindu temples were burnt, Hindus killed, and Hindu women raped for simply worshipping the Divine Feminine, Devi Durga. The world remained silent once again.

By 2050 it is projected that the population of Hindus in Bangladesh will become zero. Hindus are literally projected to become extinct in Bangladesh but the whole world remains negligent and silent. The Hindus in Bangladesh are relying on the support of the global Hindu community, media coverage, and human rights organizations to take their plight to the world and enable safety and justice. However, all these people and institutions are choosing to remain silent and apathetic.
