He’s baaaack!  Anthony Weiner makes his New York City mayoral bid official:

Nearly two years after he resigned from Congress because of a sexting scandal, Anthony Weiner is running for mayor.

He formally announced his candidacy with a two-minute, 16-second video that he posted online at midnight Wednesday.

“I made some big mistakes and I know I let a lot of people down, but I have also learned some tough lessons,” Weiner says in the video, posted on YouTube.

“I am running for mayor because I have been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it my entire life, and I hope I get a second chance to work for you.”

Weiner’s wife, longtime Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin, offers a testimonial to her husband, declaring, “We love this city and no one will work harder to make it better than Anthony.”

The unconventional campaign launch culminates a comeback tour that began in early April with a magazine interview and continued with the posting of a policy booklet online filled with ideas for the next mayor.

Hey, if South Carolina can vote for Mark Sanford after he left his position as governor to go hang out with his jump-off in South America, and Newt Gingrich could win a primary in the 2012 presidential campaign, then I say Anthony Weiner should be given the same courtesy.

Westboro Baptist Church’s Fred Phelps Jr. is blaming the Moore tornado on NBA player Jason Collins, who recently came out as a gay man. Of course, Mr. Phelps hasn’t given an explanation for the 1999 Joplin tornado or even the previous tornado that hit Moore some years ago.

Ibragim Todashev, Chechen Friend of Boston Bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev, Killed by FBI Agent in FL (Mugshot)

The FBI shot and killed Ibragim Todashev, 27, who may be connected to Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, WESH reported Wednesday morning. Gunshots rang out shortly before midnight at the Windhover condominium complex in Orlando area, WFTV reported. Ibragim Todashev, a Chechen, and Khusn Taramiv were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. The men were MMA fighters.

Taramiv claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday.

“(The FBI) took me and my friend, the suspect that got killed. They were talking to us, both of us, right? And they said they need him for a little more, for a couple more hours, and I left, and they told me they’re going to bring him back. They never brought him back,” Taramiv said.

Here’s another account of Ibragim Todashev’s encounter with the FBI:

Khusen Taramov said the day that federal agents identified the Tsarnaev brothers as the Boston bombing suspects, FBI agents came to the apartment complex and started questioning a few people of Chechnyan descent.

“One day they started questioning us, next day after the bombing, not the bombing, after they found out the bombers were Chechnyans, and they started following us, watching us. They pretty much told the guy from his apartment and they start following us, watching us like every day,” said Taramov.

Taramov said Todashev met Tamerlan Tsarnaev in Boston and the two had hung out a few times.

Taramov said Todashev met with FBI agents Tuesday night, which was supposed to be their last meeting because he was planning to fly back to Chechnya that night. He said the plane ticket was purchased before the Boston bombings, but federal agents strongly advised him not to go home.

“He cancelled the tickets because, the FBI had been like, I don’t know, they’ve been pushing him, you know what I’m saying. They’ve been pushing him they say ‘don’t leave, don’t leave’ so he decided to stay. But we had a feeling, worst case scenario something like that was going to happen. You know what I mean,” said Taramov.

The FBI hasn’t identified the suspect killed, but said they would issue a statement sometime Wednesday. The Orlando Police is also on the scene of the shooting. Ibragim Todashev was arrested May 4 for aggravated battery.

BREAKING:  A one-year old baby was killed and two women injured at a picnic on East Hills Drive in Pittsburgh, Penn., just after 7:30 p.m. The child, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. One of the women was shot in the chest and was reportedly found lying on top of the baby. A second woman sustained a gun shot wound to the buttocks. They were transported to an area hospital.

Via Post-Gazette:  The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. off the 2300 block of East Hills Drive in the Second East Hills housing complex, where a group was picnicking in a cul-de-sac.

Possibly three gunmen got out of a vehicle and began firing at the crowd of people, police spokeswoman Diane Richard said. City homicide detectives do not believe that the victims were the intended targets, she said. No arrests had been made late Tuesday night.

Once again, we have thugs firing on crowds, as we saw in the New Orleans Mother’s Day second-line parade shooting. Akein Scott and his brother, who have ties to gangs, were arrested.

Megan Futrell, a mother of two, was killed along with her three-month-old child in the 7-Eleven that was in the path of the EF-5 Moore tornado. She sought shelter in the store where she hid with her child in a freezer.

Megan Futrell was a teacher. She leaves behind a son, Cody, and her husband. This comes as hopes fade to find survivors in the rubble at Plaza Towers Elementary School, where 24 children are reportedly still missing.

Lois Lerner, the IRS official at the heart of the snooping scandal targeting Tea Party groups, will plead the Fifth Amendment and refuses to testify at a House oversight hearing this week. Lerner was the official in charge of the exempt organizations division at the Internal Revenue Service.

“She has not committed any crime or made any misrepresentation but under the circumstances she has no choice but to take this course,” an attorney for Lerner told committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) in a letter obtained Tuesday by the Los Angeles Times.

Since she intends not to answer questions, the letter requests Lerner be exempt from the Wednesday hearing because her appearance would “have no purpose other than to embarrass or burden her.”

Lerner initially revealed during a Q&A session in Washington that Internal Revenue Service agents employed at the Cincinnati branch office improperly scrutinized conservative non-profit groups for additional reviews from 2010 to 2012. Lerner only recently disclosed that the question was planted, however. Source

Her attorney said she didn’t commit any crimes, so why is she pleading the Fifth Amendment? Watch out, a barrage of right wing arm chair quarterbacking is coming……

Plaza Towers Elementary Student Kyle Davis Missing After Moore Tornado (Facebook)

UPDATE:  Kyle Davis has been identified as one of seven students who died at Plaza Towers Elementary School.

The families of Sydney Angle and Kyle Davis, students at Plaza Towers Elementary School, have released photographs of their loved ones. They are among 24 students who went missing when the school took a direct hit from the Moore tornado Monday afternoon. Seven youngsters drowned after water pipes burst beneath the rubble. Earlier we reported that Janae Hornsby, 9, was also reported missing by her father.

The Medical Examiner said that 24 people were killed, with nine being children. Crews are still in a search and recovery mode, so the death toll could climb higher.

Sen. Jim Inhofe couldn’t sit back and watch Sen. Tom Coburn get all the attention for their position of holding tornado victims’ relief aid hostage in exchange for budget cuts. One word to describe James Inhofe — heartless.

He “rejected comparisons between federal aid for this disaster” and the superstorm Sandy relief package he voted against, the Washington Post reports,  saying it’s a “totally different” situation. Um, yeah, it’s different alright. One happened in New York/New Jersey, while the tornado occurred in Oklahoma.

He argued that the Sandy aid was filled with pork. If you call fixing roads pork, then I guess he’s right. When will these people recognize that there are elected to do the will of their constituents and not whatever they feel like doing? Jim Inhofe, Tom Coburn and others didn’t have a problem voting to approve two wars, among other things. This smacks of a terrible double-standard in Washington D.C.

Rush Limbaugh continues to play the race card in the right wing freak-out of their three scandals — IRS snooping, AP phone record seizure and Benghazi attack:

“Folks, let me tell you something. I’m just gonna launch here. I’ll do this with as much restraint as possible. But in my humble thinking, the people of this country, if it came to this, are simply not going to tolerate the first black president being removed from office. And if that’s not gonna happen, all the rest of this is academic. The people of this country are not gonna tolerate the first African-American attorney general being removed from office. They’re just not gonna put up with it, and they’re not gonna sit by while it happens, no matter what.”

There’s nothing humble about this racist windbag. Funny, I don’t recall hearing him call for George W. Bush’s impeachment over Iraq or even the scandals that rocked his administration. Oh, let me guess. That’s because he’s white.

Republican lunatic Michele Bachmann says “God is going to answer our prayers and we’ll be freed from the yoke of Obamacare.” Spoken like a true moron. She appeared on James Dobson’s radio program Tuesday morning. The discussion started out about the IRS scandal and his “contention that his organization’s application was delayed because he had been critical of President Obama,” Right Wing watch reports.

That’s why you saw the House of Representatives pass my bill, the full repeal of Obamacare last week, and that’s why I have renewed confidence that we can see this bill pass in the Senate and I think the President will ultimately be forced to repudiate his own signature piece of legislation because the American people will demand it.

And I think before his second term is over, we’re going to see a miracle before our eyes, I believe God is going to answer our prayers and we’ll be freed from the yoke of Obamacare. I believe that’s going to happen and we saw step one last week with the repeal of Obamacare in the House. We have two more steps. We serve a mighty God and I believe it can happen.

When I think of Michele Bachmann, all I can remember is her appearance on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” and the band playing “Lying Ass B*tch.”
