Birdman buys Maybach Exelero for $8 mill

2011-05-03T08:42:00.000-07:00

Birdman, a rapper we only seem to hear about when he spends lots of money on cars, is in the news again for buying a Maybach Exelero. For $8 million.

The totally custom-made car is based on the ultra-luxury Maybach 57 limo. But, designer Fredrik Burchhardt thought the 57 would look nice as a coupe. So, he designed this stunner, but Mayback - the high-end division of Mercedes-Benz - decided not to put it into production.

As far as we can tell, at least one working example has been built, and that's the car Birdman spent $8 mill on. It's powered by a tuned AMG V12, which reportedly makes 691 horsepower and a truly terrifying 752 lb-ft of torque. Be careful Birdman.

Maybach Exelero
Built by German luxury maker Maybach for tire company Fulda, you thankfully don't have to worry about this 700 horsepower monster looming in your rearview mirror any time soon: they built only one. Still, with its 350+ km/h top speed, chances are you wouldn't be frightened for long…
