This is a a hard post to write but for those of you who read my personal/life style blog, you know that I run a design studio and soon-to-open brick and mortar shop on top of being a mom to our almost 5-year-old son, Ike. Things have been a bit hectic (to say the least!) and I’ve decided to scale back a few things — including this blog, Hip Hip Hooray.

I’ve loved building with it, collaborating with our fantastic contributors and “meeting” a whole new set of readers. But unfortunately, I’m not able to put the time into it that it needs. So effective today, we will no longer be posting. We’ll keep the site live so that it remains a resource and I’ll still pin party related images on the Hip Hip Hooray Pitnerest board.

This site has exceeded all expectations and I appreciate all of the amazing response, support and enthusaism for the blog. Thanks so much for reading this last year and sharing your parties. Keep up the creativity and thank you!

Cheers! -Suann

I was attempting something else entirely when I ended up with this crepe paper flower garland (don’t you love when that happens?). I think it could work really well as a homemade lei or flower crown as well. To make one or your very own, just follow the simple instructions below.

Cut 3″ circles out of crepe paper. Layer three circles on top of each other, fold in half and twist in the middle so they stay connected together. Carefully poof the layers of paper to make a flower look. Use a needle and thread to string together. Very simple but if you want to make several strings, it’s time consuming so pop in a movie while you’re doing it.
