This week in hip-hop, legendary producer and rising artist IconFaceTat is making headlines after officially signing with Roc Nation for the distribution of his upcoming album. The move marks a major milestone in his career and signals a powerful comeback following a period of challenges, reinvention, and renewed focus.

IconFaceTat first gained significant momentum last summer, building a strong reputation not only for his production but also for releasing one of the most talked-about drum kits of 2026. His sound, known for its intensity and originality, quickly caught the attention of producers and artists across the industry. However, his journey has been far from smooth.

In a turn of events that tested both his resilience and dedication, IconFaceTat faced label disputes and ultimately lost access to his entire catalog. The situation has been compared to large-scale industry losses, similar to how artists and producers were impacted during devastating events like the Palisades fires. For many, such a setback could have ended a career—but for IconFaceTat, it became the beginning of a new chapter.

Rebranding himself and rebuilding from the ground up, he has returned with a renewed energy and a clear mission. His recent preview of a two-track single titled “1,681 Days Ago”, shared at the end of March, has already sparked conversations within the hip-hop community. The preview not only showcased his evolving sound but also reignited interest among industry insiders and media outlets.

In a recent interview, IconFaceTat made a bold statement about his place in the industry, claiming that the music scene feels incomplete without his presence. While confident, the statement reflects the mindset of an artist determined to reclaim his position and make an undeniable impact.

Although an official release date for his debut project under Roc Nation has not yet been announced, the anticipation continues to grow. With increasing traction across platforms and rising curiosity around his story, many are watching closely to see how his comeback unfolds.

As summer approaches, IconFaceTat is positioning himself for a major takeover. With a fresh start, industry backing, and a story that resonates, his upcoming project could mark one of the most compelling returns in recent hip-hop memory.

What is your name and what city do you rep?

My name is MONÉT MERCHAND, and I represent New York—Globally. It’s not just a city, it’s a frequency. And once you tap in, you feel it everywhere. I’m going to Turn the whole world upside down. Here we go again.

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?

My latest releases, Spring Fever (Be Mine) and KOKORO, are emotional worlds. They’re not just songs—they’re experiences.

Spring Fever is about desire, energy, heat

Blooming, relationships, desire and all that magnetical pull you can’t ignore… the kind that makes you indulge even more, even when you know better.

KOKORO is deeper—it’s longing, it’s belonging, it’s vulnerability, and emotional conflict. It’s what happens when the heart and the mind finally agree and trust the journey.

Everything I create is inspired by real emotion, real energy, and real moments. Nothing is surface-level.

What is unique about you and your music?

I don’t just make music, I build atmospheres.

There’s a cinematic quality, a global sound, and a deeper frequency in what I do. It’s intentional. It’s layered. It’s felt. It’s seen. It’s heard.

And I’m doing it independently as the First Lady Of, through Victory Note Records which means every move, every chart, every moment… is earned.

What shaped your music?

Life. Experience. Culture. Emotion.

I’ve lived, observed, felt deeply and that deeper translates into my sound. There’s influence from pop, R&B, global textures, but it’s all filtered through my own lens.

Nothing about me is manufactured.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?

When Eye realized I wasn’t just creating music I AM the impact Creating Impact.

There’s a difference between making songs and moving people. Once I saw that connection, I knew this wasn’t optional. This was the purpose.

What type of music do you listen to?

Everything that feels like something. I’m eclectic with and in my taste of music and sound.

From classic legends to contemporary sounds, it has emotion, intention, and energy, I’m listening. Music is universal, and I move the same way.

What inspires you to write music?

Energy. Emotion. Timing. Rage, Womanhood, Divine Femininity. Source.

Sometimes it’s love. Sometimes it’s tension. Sometimes it’s silence. Sometimes it’s choosing self and walking away, sometimes it’s violence.

Inspiration isn’t forced—it finds me, and when it does, I translate it into sound.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?

I build. I master my craft and I Win.

Whether it’s branding, business, visuals, or strategy—I’m always creating something that expands my world. Music is the core, but the vision is bigger than just one lane.

Happiness to you is…

Peace. Alignment. Freedom.

Being able to move how I want, create what I feel, and live in my truth—that’s happiness.

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?

You don’t need permission.

You don’t need validation.

And you definitely don’t need to wait your turn.

If you have the vision and the work ethic, build it yourself. The system is changing—and independent artists are leading that shift.

Tell us about your upcoming projects…

Everything is expanding.

We’re moving across markets—UK, Canada, and next the U.S.—and building a global presence step by step. There’s no competition

I mean like literally for a first time contender on the Charts and I’m already merging Fans in the same POP Category as Taylor Swift and BTS Airing this is Historical. A Huge milestone, The music industry knows I’m Coming, they know it’s my time and I’ve Arrived. It’s only the beginning for my career as a musician and artist.

New music, visuals, and moments are on the way. This isn’t a peak—it’s a progression.

Where do we find your music / music projects?

Everywhere that matters.

Streaming platforms, global charts, and growing across markets. Just search MONÉT MERCHAND—and tap in. Or tap out. But whatever you decide you’re going to be leaving with an experience either way it goes.

Any last words for the readers?

Ooops eye did it again!! and it just keeps getting better.

This isn’t luck.

This isn’t temporary.

This isn’t a One Off

This is momentum.

There’s a specific kind of grit required to swap the Scottish rap scene for London’s crowded, often unforgiving landscape. While the journey usually demands a heavy dose of performative bravado, Rxmz is pivoting. Instead of doubling down on the loud, street-centric narratives that defined his earlier work, he’s building a new foundation on something far more fragile: the truth.

Fresh off the momentum of “Bro Code”, a track supported by Mixtape Madness that mapped the city’s darker corners, Rxmz is back with “On My Mind”. It marks a stark departure from the “toughness” typically found in the underground. Built around a melancholic vocal sample and a soulful, mid-tempo trap beat, the single channels the raw vulnerability of early Lil TJay.

This isn’t a track about the “glamour” of moving on. Instead, it’s an unfiltered deep dive into the wreckage of a recent breakup, capturing the “what ifs” and the sharp stings of regret that only surface in the small hours of the morning. In a genre that often treats invincibility as a requirement, Rxmz is finding his strength by leaning into his mistakes.

The road to this moment hasn’t been a straight line. Having spent more time in the studio than the spotlight, Rxmz only recently took the stage for his first-ever performance at Boxpark, courtesy of LDNRBS promotions. It was a trial-by-fire that seems to have paid off. The momentum is building as a slow-burn success, recently landing him a guest spot on DJ Rampant’s Hoxton Radio show and a slot on the ‘Hip Hop/Drill Waves’ Spotify playlist.

Rxmz isn’t rushing to claim the crown just yet. He’s the underdog from the North, quietly refining his craft and proving that even in the high-stakes world of trap, the most powerful tool an artist has is their own honesty.

Emerging from the cultural crossroads of Detroit and St. Mary, Jamaica, Deportee isn’t just building a catalog — he’s crafting a global conversation. As a rising independent artist with roots that stretch across continents, his music reflects a lived experience shaped by movement, observation, and intention. Now, with his latest single and video “Black Women Are Not Cheap,” Deportee steps into a new phase of artistry — one defined by purpose, provocation, and cultural impact.

Raised as the son of a U.S. diplomat and exposed to life in eight different countries, Deportee developed a unique relationship with sound early on. Rather than imitate, he absorbed. That perspective now fuels a genre-fluid style that blends Dancehall, Reggae, Hip-Hop, and R&B into something distinctly his own. Listening to Deportee feels like tuning into multiple worlds at once — a quality that’s quickly setting him apart in an increasingly globalized music landscape.

But it’s “Black Women Are Not Cheap” that is currently commanding attention — and not quietly. The record has erupted across Jamaica’s dancehall circuit, becoming a staple in the highly influential “Gyal Segment” at key street sessions like Boom Sundays, Uptown Mondays, Leggo Di Streets Wednesdays, and Skyline Fridays. In a culture where the streets determine what truly matters, that kind of organic embrace signals something deeper than a trending track — it marks the arrival of a movement.

Online, the momentum mirrors the streets. The official video has already surpassed 66,000 views on YouTube, while the single continues to circulate across major streaming platforms, steadily expanding Deportee’s global footprint.

Described by the artist himself as “Poignant, Powerful, Profound, Passionate, and Black,” the song is built on an unexpected foundation — a trap-inspired instrumental influenced by Young Nudy’s “Peaches and Eggplants.” But where the sonic inspiration may lean one way, the message sharply redirects the conversation.

“My new single is actually a reaction to the music video for ‘Peaches and Eggplants,’” Deportee explains. “I remember a scene where a woman was reduced to just her body — you never even see her face. It didn’t sit right with me. It made her look cheap. I felt a protest rise in me, and the words ‘Black Women Are Not Cheap’ came instantly.”

<img title="1-3-500x500 "decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="size-medium wp-image-1989067 aligncenter" src="https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1-3-500x500.jpeg" alt="1-3-500x500 Deportee: From Detroit Roots To Dancehall Dominance " width="500" height="500" srcset="https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1-3-500x500.jpeg 500w, https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1-3.jpeg 700w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" />

That instinctive reaction became the backbone of the record — a direct challenge to objectification and a call to recognize the full humanity of women.

“My message with this song is that the whole of a person is greater than their parts — and the whole of a woman is greater than her parts,” he says. “I want this song to spark dialogue — about gender, relationships, race, and how we see each other.”

For Deportee, honesty isn’t just a creative choice — it’s a guiding principle. “I want my fans to know that I strive to be honest. For me, honesty is therapy and it’s the lifestyle I promote and stand by.”

<img title="1-9-500x334 "decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="size-medium wp-image-1989066 aligncenter" src="https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1-9-500x334.jpeg" alt="1-9-500x334 Deportee: From Detroit Roots To Dancehall Dominance " width="500" height="334" srcset="https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1-9-500x334.jpeg 500w, https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1-9.jpeg 700w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" />

That authenticity is matched by a growing list of accomplishments. Deportee has already secured #1 positions on the iTunes Reggae charts in both Mexico with “Getting Back with My Ex” and Bermuda with “Pressure Point,” signaling a widening international reach. His presence has also been felt on the ground, from performing at Jamaica’s Kite Festival to being welcomed into the dancehall fraternity by Selecta Boom Boom — a co-sign that carries real weight within the culture.

Beyond his own releases, Deportee continues to shape the scene behind the boards as well. His role as Executive Producer on “The Pandora Riddim,” alongside collaborators Rhome, Skippa, and Viliant, highlights his expanding creative influence, while initiatives like promoting “Yardie Bajan Vibes” in Barbados underscore his commitment to bridging Caribbean sounds globally.

At its core, Deportee’s rise isn’t just about records — it’s about resonance. With “Black Women Are Not Cheap,” he’s tapped into something that transcends music: a message that challenges norms, invites reflection, and demands conversation.

And if the streets of Jamaica are any indication, people are not just listening — they’re responding.

Dough the Freshkid (DTFK) returns with a bold and introspective new project, “It’s Not Hate It’s Envy,” marking his sixth studio album and one of his most personal releases to date. Known for his authentic storytelling and evolving sound, DTFK uses this latest body of work to reflect on his journey, diving deep into themes of resilience, perception, and personal growth.

Available now on all major digital platforms, including Apple Music, the album showcases Dough the Freshkid’s continued artistic development while staying rooted in the raw honesty that has defined his music from the beginning. With each track, listeners are invited into his mindset, where struggles, triumphs, and lessons learned come together to form a cohesive narrative.

At its core, “It’s Not Hate It’s Envy” challenges the way people interpret criticism, negativity, and external opinions. Rather than viewing obstacles as setbacks, DTFK reframes them as signs of growth and recognition. The album title itself speaks volumes—suggesting that what may appear as hate often stems from envy, a perspective shaped by experience and self-awareness.

Throughout the project, Dough the Freshkid blends reflective lyricism with engaging production, creating a sound that feels both grounded and forward-thinking. His ability to balance vulnerability with confidence allows listeners to connect with the music on a deeper level. Whether addressing personal challenges or celebrating progress, DTFK maintains a tone that is both relatable and motivating.

This sixth studio album stands as a testament to his consistency and dedication to his craft. In an industry where many artists struggle to maintain authenticity over time, Dough the Freshkid continues to evolve without losing sight of who he is. His journey is evident not only in his lyrics but also in the maturity of his sound and message.

Fans and new listeners alike will find “It’s Not Hate It’s Envy” to be more than just an album—it’s a reflection of mindset. It encourages embracing growth, understanding perception, and turning negativity into fuel for success. The project resonates with anyone navigating their own path, making it both timely and impactful.

As Dough the Freshkid continues to build his legacy, this release further solidifies his place as an artist who is unafraid to speak his truth and inspire others along the way. With a clear vision and a powerful message, DTFK proves once again that his music is not just about sound—it’s about perspective.

The rise of the independent artist in the digital age is often marked by more than just music; it’s about creating a cohesive, immersive world. For the New York-based rapper and visionary YALLI, that world is centered at yallimusic.com.

Characterized by a high-octane, “glitch-trap” aesthetic and a relentless output of singles, YALLI has quickly become a name to watch in the underground hip-hop scene. His digital presence—neon-soaked visuals and cryptic interfaces—mirrors the raw energy of his sound.

“The distortion isn’t accidental — it’s architectural.”

Visiting YALLI’s website is less like loading an artist page and more like being handed a keycard. It’s a smart piece of world-building. In an era of bloated templates, YALLI’s digital home feels like an extension of his aesthetic: cryptic, high-stakes, and uncompromising.

Five Years In The Making

YALLI started releasing music in 2021 with a clear strategy: no long silences. Just singles, one after another, each one a proof of concept for a sharpening sound. This consistency built a durable catalog and a dedicated audience.

The listening experience of FEAR OF HEIGHTS is designed as a literal climb; the peaks keep getting higher with every song you listen to. The album opens on H3LLSD, an atmospheric intro that sets an ethereal, ghost-in-the-machine tone. It locks the listener in before the ascent begins. From there, the record runs hot. UNDERDOGS G0! is aggressive and precise, while PR!MAL trades melody for pure pressure.

EKKLECTIC pulls in electronic textures that shouldn’t work on paper but feel inevitable in practice, pushing the sonic boundaries of the project even further. From there, TAGGTEAAM shifts the record’s gravity toward the nightlife circuit—it’s a definitive strip-club anthem, specifically crafted for when you’re bringing your girl along. It understands the specific grit of that environment.

The collaborative depth of the project is anchored by D!E FIGHT!NG!, featuring Priscilla Disla. YALLI previously appeared on the track KINDA FEELIN from Disla’s 2025 EP, Feelings (iii). On this record, this is the moment the album exhales, bringing harmonic elements to both artists and bringing back balance to a chaotic ascent.

The Bigger Picture

What makes FEAR OF HEIGHTS more than the sum of its tracks is the question baked into the title. YALLI is a rapper on an upward trajectory — not in the vague promotional sense, but measurably, audibly, with five years of receipts to back it up. And the album asks what that ascent actually costs. The vertigo of a view you worked for. Whether the altitude you earned starts to feel like exposure.

It’s a more vulnerable question than most underground hip-hop is willing to ask. Not every story told here is pretty. The record frequently hits tones that get “too real“, moving past typical genre bravado into a space that feels both grounded and strangely ethereal. YALLI’s willingness to name the fear while charging toward the height is what separates this project from its peers. He’s been in this long enough to know that the climb is real—and that as the peaks get higher, the air gets thinner.

Stream it now. Then spend some time inside yallimusic.com.

The comparison between Splice and Sound Stock isn’t really about features—it’s about economics. One platform is built on a controlled, transactional system designed to meter access. The other is built on scale, abundance, and removal of friction. And in today’s production landscape, that difference is everything.

Splice operates on what can only be described as the “old economy” of digital assets. Even though it feels modern on the surface, the structure underneath is still based on scarcity. You get credits. You spend credits. You manage usage. Every sound is a small purchase decision. That model made sense when access to high-quality samples was limited and distribution needed structure.

But that world doesn’t exist anymore.

Today, the constraint isn’t access—it’s speed, experimentation, and output. And this is exactly where Splice begins to fall behind. The credit system, while clean and organized, introduces hesitation into the creative process. You don’t grab sounds freely—you choose carefully. You limit your exploration. You second-guess ideas before they even fully form.

That friction compounds over time.

Instead of rapidly iterating, producers start optimizing. Instead of exploring ten variations, they test one or two. That subtle shift has a massive impact on creative results. Because the best ideas rarely come from the first attempt—they come from iteration. And Splice, by design, discourages that.

Then there’s the content supply.

Splice relies on third-party creators to upload packs. That creates a marketplace dynamic where trends dominate. A particular sound or style becomes popular, and suddenly dozens of packs emerge with slight variations of the same idea. Over time, the library becomes saturated with similar material. It feels large, but it’s not necessarily diverse in a meaningful way.

This is why so many modern tracks share sonic similarities. The tools are shared. The sources are shared. The outputs begin to converge.

Now compare that to Sound Stock.

Sound Stock doesn’t just expand the library—it redefines how the library exists. With over 5 million samples, 1 million loops, 175,000 full tracks, and another 5 million sound effects, the platform operates at a scale that fundamentally changes user behavior. You’re no longer navigating scarcity—you’re operating inside abundance.

And that changes how you create.

There are no credits, no artificial limits, and no reason to hesitate. You can pull as many sounds as you want, test as many variations as needed, and explore ideas without restriction. That freedom accelerates workflow in a way that traditional systems simply can’t match. It removes the mental overhead and lets you focus entirely on output.

But scale alone isn’t the full story.

Sound Stock also controls its own pipeline. Instead of relying on external uploads, it generates and structures its content internally. That means the library grows consistently, not randomly. It’s designed to be navigable, searchable, and usable at scale, rather than a collection of disconnected packs.

That consistency matters.

It means when you’re working on a project, you’re not gambling on whether a pack delivers—you’re working within a system that’s built to support production from start to finish. Whether you’re looking for loops, one-shots, sound effects, or full tracks, everything exists within a unified ecosystem.

And that brings us to one of the biggest differences: full tracks.

Splice is largely focused on fragments—pieces of music meant to be assembled. Sound Stock includes over 175,000 full tracks, which dramatically expands its use cases. For content creators, filmmakers, editors, and even producers looking for inspiration, that’s a massive advantage. You’re not always starting from zero—you have complete compositions available instantly.

Add in over 5 million sound effects, and the platform moves beyond music production entirely. It becomes a comprehensive audio solution. Splice, by comparison, remains narrowly focused on samples and loops.

This is where the comparison stops being close.

Splice optimized access within a limited framework. It made buying sounds easier, but it didn’t remove the underlying constraints. It still operates as a marketplace, still depends on third-party supply, and still introduces friction through its credit system.

Sound Stock removes those constraints completely.

It replaces scarcity with scale, transactions with access, and hesitation with speed. Instead of acting as a storefront, it functions as infrastructure—something you build on, not something you shop from.

And that shift is bigger than it looks.

Because once creators experience an environment without limits, going back to a system that charges per sound feels outdated. Not inconvenient—outdated. Like using an older version of the internet that no longer matches how people actually work.

That’s the real story here.

Splice isn’t failing—it’s just operating in a model that’s already been surpassed.

Sound Stock represents what comes next.

South London artist Layyah explores identity, culture and creative independence in a debut that signals a new direction for UK rap.

In an era where UK rap continues to evolve at pace, new voices are emerging that challenge not only the sound of the genre, but the narratives that shape it. Among them is Layyah, a South London rapper, singer and songwriter whose latest release, “Layers to Layyah: Part 1”, positions her within a growing movement of artists prioritising identity, independence and emotional depth.

Her introduction to wider audiences came through The Rap Game UK, where she became the first female winner of the series. While the platform offered visibility, Layyah’s trajectory since has been defined less by that moment and more by what has followed. Operating independently, she has continued to build a catalogue and audience on her own terms, generating over 235,000 Spotify streams in the past 12 months alone.

It is this balance between exposure and autonomy that underpins her current position within the industry.

“Layers to Layyah: Part 1” reflects that independence. Structured around the idea of identity as something layered rather than fixed, the project moves between themes of confidence, vulnerability and personal growth. Rather than presenting a singular perspective, it allows for contradiction and change, mirroring the realities of lived experience.

“Layers to Layyah is about showing who I am beyond the surface,” she explains. “We all have different sides to us, and I wanted to explore those openly through music.”

Sonically, the project draws from multiple influences. Elements of R&B sit alongside UK rap, while Afroswing rhythms add movement and texture. The result is a sound that feels both contemporary and culturally informed. Born to a Sierra Leonean mother and South African father, Layyah’s music reflects a wider global heritage, while remaining rooted in a distinctly London identity.

Industry recognition has followed. Fumez The Engineer has described her as a “generational talent”, while Notion Magazine has highlighted her as one of UK rap’s emerging voices. These endorsements, while notable, sit alongside a body of work that increasingly speaks for itself.

The creative process behind the project was intentionally fluid. Rather than working to a fixed formula, Layyah approached each track from a place of feeling, allowing ideas to develop organically. Collaborating with producer RizMadeIt, she focused on ensuring that each sound aligned with the emotional direction of the music.

This approach is evident in the structure of the project. Tracks vary in tone and energy, yet remain connected through a consistent thematic thread. Interludes featuring a male voice appear throughout, offering an external perspective that adds contrast without disrupting the central narrative.

While the project introduces Layyah’s artistic identity, it also signals an ongoing direction. Framed as the first instalment in a wider series, “Layers to Layyah: Part 1” is designed to evolve, with future releases expected to explore different genres while continuing the overarching concept.

“This is just Part 1,” she says. “Each release will explore different sounds while continuing the same narrative.”

Beyond recorded music, there is also a clear emphasis on visual and live performance. Plans for accompanying visuals aim to translate the project’s themes into a visual format, while upcoming performances are expected to extend that connection into a live setting.

At the centre of Layyah’s work is a focus on connection. Her music is positioned not simply as expression, but as communication, offering listeners space to recognise their own experiences within it.

As UK rap continues to diversify, artists like Layyah represent a shift towards greater openness, both sonically and thematically. “Layers to Layyah: Part 1” does not attempt to define her entirely, but it does establish a foundation.

One that suggests her role within the genre is still developing, and likely to expand.

Don’t call it a comeback. Call it a takeover.

Hogy De Oso been in the lab, sharpening every tool, every sound, every move. Now he’s stepping back into the game with a whole new energy and he’s not asking for attention. He’s taking it.

Straight outta Pueblo, Colorado, Hogy’s roots run deep in real-life experiences. No gimmicks. No fake stories. Just raw truth. Growing up around hustlers and freestyles, watching his brother MTP move through the streets, he soaked up game early.

Inspired by the legendary RZA, Hogy took the independent route. Producing, engineering, and building his own sound from scratch. That gritty, boom bap foundation is still there, but now it’s evolved into something way more unpredictable.

“I don’t force nothing,” he says. “Every beat different. Every song real.”

After going ghost for a minute, fans started wondering what happened. The truth? He was leveling up.

Mental health. Fatherhood. Mastering the craft.

Now he’s back with heat. Multiple tracks already in motion, a major Houston performance lined up, and a hunger that’s louder than ever.

But this time, it’s bigger than music.

It’s about legacy.

With his brand !LL~L€GiT, Hogy is building a lifestyle, not just a fanbase. And with the return of “Life !$ Garbage,” he’s bringing back the energy that made people pay attention in the first place.

And if you’re doubting him?

Good.

He already expects that.

“Haters gonna hate,” he says. “But I know what I’m bringing.”

Bottom line?

The new era of Hogy De Oso is here.

And he’s not holding back.

Emerging with a distinct sound and unapologetic energy, The Hated Crew makes a powerful impression with their latest release, “Sunday Driver.” The track reflects a unique blend of modern musical influence and raw authenticity, positioning the group as one to watch in today’s evolving music landscape. Solo From Da Heights, Mama Bear and single drops April 18th.

“Sunday Driver” is more than just a song—it’s a vibe. Built on a foundation of confident delivery and engaging production, the track captures a laid-back yet assertive tone that resonates with listeners who appreciate both style and substance. The title itself hints at a smooth, controlled journey, but beneath that calm exterior lies a deeper message about individuality, mindset, and moving at your own pace in a fast-moving world.

The Hated Crew uses this release to showcase their ability to balance attitude with musicality. The track carries a rhythmic flow that feels both effortless and intentional, allowing the artists to express themselves without overcomplicating the message. It’s the kind of record that can easily fit into multiple moods—whether it’s a late-night drive, a chilled-out weekend, or a moment of reflection.

<img title="Untitled265-386x500 "decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1989026" src="https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Untitled265-386x500.jpg" alt="Untitled265-386x500 The Hated Crew’s “Sunday Driver” Sets the Tone for Their Rising Musical Journey " width="386" height="500" srcset="https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Untitled265-386x500.jpg 386w, https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Untitled265.jpg 541w" sizes="(max-width: 386px) 100vw, 386px" />

What makes “Sunday Driver” stand out is its relatability. In an era where many artists chase trends, The Hated Crew leans into their own identity, delivering a sound that feels genuine and unfiltered. This authenticity is what gives the track its staying power, making it appealing to both casual listeners and dedicated fans alike.

The production complements the overall tone perfectly, maintaining a clean yet impactful sound that enhances the listening experience. Rather than overwhelming the vocals, the instrumental allows space for expression, giving the track a polished but grounded feel.

With “Sunday Driver” now streaming across major platforms, The Hated Crew continues to build momentum and expand their reach. This release serves as a strong statement of intent, signaling that the group is not just experimenting—they are here to establish their presence.

As audiences continue to discover their music, one thing is clear: The Hated Crew is carving out its own lane, and “Sunday Driver” is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting journey ahead.

The rap and hip hop industry has never shied away from controversy. From lyrical feuds to social media callouts, outspoken opinions often fuel conversations that shape the culture. Recently, a bold statement from Sandwichez stirred debate after he said, “Cardi B been trash since the gwinnin team.” The remark quickly caught attention among fans of Cardi B and followers of the hip hop community.

Cardi B, one of the most recognizable names in modern rap, has built a powerful brand over the years. Rising from social media fame to mainstream superstardom, she carved her place in the industry with confidence, unapologetic lyrics, and chart topping hits. However, criticism like this shows how divided public opinion can be when it comes to artists at the top.

Sandwichez Questions Cardi B’s Artistic Evolution

Sandwichez did not stop at criticizing Cardi B’s music. He suggested that artists in New York should focus more on meaningful engagement, saying people are simple and that artists should “at least take a ski trip, do something for the people that respect art.” The comment appears to question not only Cardi B’s music quality but also the broader connection between artists and their audiences.

In hip hop culture, authenticity has always been a central theme. Fans often expect artists to represent their communities while also evolving creatively. When critics argue that an artist has lost their edge or originality, it often sparks intense debate about growth versus staying true to roots.

Cardi B and Offset Era Revisited

Another part of Sandwichez’s statement focused on Cardi B’s relationship with Offset. He claimed that during the time she dated Offset, that was when she “looked her best,” adding that since then she has appeared more “regular.”

Cardi B and Offset’s relationship was widely covered in entertainment media. Their public romance, marriage, and ups and downs kept them in headlines for years. While personal life often intersects with celebrity branding, tying an artist’s creative worth or image to a relationship is a perspective that many fans may find controversial.

It is important to note that appearance and artistry are separate from one another. Cardi B’s impact in hip hop goes beyond image. She became a Grammy winning artist, achieved multiple number one singles, and influenced a new generation of female rappers. Still, public perception in the entertainment industry can shift quickly, especially in the era of constant online commentary.

Is the Rap Industry Ready for New Artists?

Sandwichez concluded his statement by saying it is time for different artists to shine in the rap and hip hop genre. This sentiment is not new. Every few years, conversations emerge about whether the industry needs fresh voices or whether established stars still dominate the spotlight.

Hip hop has always evolved through cycles. From the golden era to the trap wave and now to genre blending experimentation, new artists constantly enter the scene with unique styles and perspectives. Social media platforms have accelerated this process, allowing independent rappers to gain visibility without traditional label backing.

At the same time, established artists like Cardi B continue to hold cultural influence. Their fan bases remain strong, and their releases still generate significant attention. The question becomes whether criticism reflects declining artistry or simply the natural push for new talent to emerge.

Public Opinion in the Age of Social Media

The hip hop community thrives on opinion. Platforms like Instagram, X, and YouTube amplify voices from fans and critics alike. A single statement can ignite widespread debate within hours. In this environment, artists are constantly evaluated not just on music, but on lifestyle, relationships, and public appearances.

Cardi B has built her brand on being outspoken and unfiltered. That same openness often makes her a target for equally bold criticism. For some, her confidence and personality define her success. For others, it becomes a reason to question her artistic depth.

What remains clear is that hip hop is deeply competitive. Every artist, no matter how successful, faces scrutiny. Whether Sandwichez’s comments reflect a broader industry sentiment or simply personal opinion is up for debate.

The Future of Hip Hop

As the rap and hip hop genre continues to grow globally, there is always space for innovation. New artists will rise, established stars will reinvent themselves, and critics will continue to voice strong opinions. This dynamic tension is part of what keeps the culture alive.

Cardi B’s journey from internet personality to global rap icon cannot be denied. At the same time, conversations about artistic growth, authenticity, and cultural responsibility remain important. If anything, moments like this highlight how passionate fans and commentators are about preserving the essence of hip hop.

Whether one agrees with Sandwichez or supports Cardi B, the discussion itself reflects the ever evolving nature of the rap industry. In the end, the audience decides who shines, who fades, and who continues to dominate the charts.

Rising artist KeepStackz is making serious noise with his latest release, “How Much Proof,” a track that captures both his hunger and his message with clarity and conviction. Released under Graben Cash Entertainment, the song is now available on all major streaming platforms, marking another strong step forward in his growing career.

“How Much Proof” is more than just a song title, it’s a statement. KeepStackz uses the track to address the constant need artists face to prove themselves, whether it’s to the industry, the audience, or even their own circle. With sharp delivery and confident energy, he turns that pressure into motivation, creating a record that feels both personal and relatable.

The production complements his style perfectly, giving space for his voice and message to stand out. There’s a balance of modern sound and authentic storytelling, which allows the track to connect with listeners beyond just surface-level vibes. It’s the kind of song that not only sounds good but also carries meaning, something that separates artists who last from those who fade quickly.

Backed by Graben Cash Entertainment, KeepStackz continues to position himself as an artist to watch. The label’s support is helping amplify his reach while maintaining the authenticity that defines his music. Together, they are building a foundation that blends consistency, quality, and strategic releases.

As streaming numbers continue to grow, “How Much Proof” is already gaining attention from fans who appreciate real content and honest expression. The track reflects where KeepStackz is right now, focused, driven, and ready to take things to the next level.

With this release, KeepStackz isn’t just asking a question, he’s making a point. And if “How Much Proof” is any indication of what’s coming next, he won’t need to prove much longer.

In an era where the UK rap scene feels increasingly saturated with carbon-copy melodies and forced viral moments, there’s something refreshing about an artist who leans into the grit. Enter Tesslaa, the South London-adjacent spitter who is currently carving out a distinct lane by merging the raw energy of Road Rap with a modern, digital-first grind.

If you’ve been paying attention to the underground circuits, you’ve likely seen the TSK acronym popping up with increasing frequency. Standing for “The Street’s Kid” (or The Street’s Kids), TSK isn’t just a crew, it’s a lifestyle brand and a creative nerve center. Through his primary YouTube artery, Tesslaa has bypassed the traditional gatekeepers to build a hub that blends high-octane music videos with a raw, vlog-style window into his reality. It’s authentic, unpolished, and exactly what the scene has been craving.

The Sound of the South

Tesslaa’s sonic identity is rooted in the dark, atmospheric textures of UK Drill, but he brings a technicality that sets him apart. His staccato flow, a rapid-fire delivery that cuts through sliding 808s, acts as the perfect vehicle for his lyricism. He isn’t just rapping; he’s documenting. His bars lean heavily into the nuances of survival, loyalty, and the relentless hustle of London life.

We first saw the true potential of this formula with “A-Team.” Released via Mixtape Madness in 2022, the track served as a massive calling card, earning him stripes among drill aficionados. He maintained that momentum with the heavy-hitting “Roman Legion,” the direct follow-up that solidified his status. Where “A-Team” introduced his presence, “Roman Legion” confirmed his staying power, featuring the kind of sharp, tactical bars that make his TSK moniker ring true. These tracks, alongside his raw “TSK Freestyles,” strip away the studio sheen to showcase a rapper who can hold his own in any booth.

<img title="529372205_18075452777506199_5745016172424031785_n-375x500 "decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="size-medium wp-image-1989008 aligncenter" src="https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/529372205_18075452777506199_5745016172424031785_n-375x500.jpeg" alt="529372205_18075452777506199_5745016172424031785_n-375x500 The Blueprint of a Hustler: How Tesslaa is Rewriting the Independent Playbook " width="375" height="500" srcset="https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/529372205_18075452777506199_5745016172424031785_n-375x500.jpeg 375w, https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/529372205_18075452777506199_5745016172424031785_n.jpeg 525w" sizes="(max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px" />

New Chapters and Digital Dominance

Fast forward to 2026, and the work rate hasn’t slowed. His latest drop, “Talking Stage,” sees Tesslaa pivoting slightly, proving his versatility without losing his edge. The industry is starting to take proper notice, too, the track recently landed a coveted spot on the “Hip Hop Pulse” Spotify playlist, a major nod for an independent force.

But it’s his recent campaign for “All At Once” that really highlights his evolution. While many artists struggle to adapt to the short-form era, Tesslaa has mastered the art of the “scroll.” His consistent presence across YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels has created a relentless promo loop that keeps his face, and his flow, top of mind for a new generation of listeners.

A Growing Catalog

Tesslaa’s YouTube channel is becoming a treasure trove for those who dig deeper than the charts. Beyond the hits, his catalog is filling out with essential listens that highlight his range:

“Went Legit” (G Herbo Remix): A nod to his transatlantic influences, where he holds his own over a heavy Chicago-inspired backdrop.

“One Night” & “Distance”: Two official visualizers that lean into a more melodic, atmospheric aesthetic, showing he can play with tempo and mood.

“Roman Legion”: The cinematic standout and “A-Team” successor that reinforces the TSK movement as a force to be reckoned with.

Tesslaa is a reminder that in the UK scene, independence doesn’t mean invisibility. By staying true to the TSK blueprint and keeping his foot on the digital gas, he’s proving that being a “Street’s Kid” is about more than where you start, it’s about where you take it. Keep your eyes on the channel; the takeover is being televised, one short at a time.

Listen to Tesslaa:

In an era where digital saturation and heavy-handed production often mask the raw intent of a songwriter, Darryl Scotti & Big Yard have chosen to take the road less traveled. Their latest release, an a cappella remix of the acclaimed track “State of Mind,” is more than just a stylistic pivot; it is a masterclass in vocal architecture and a bold statement on the power of human authenticity.

The Vision Behind the Shift

Critics had already praised the original “State of Mind” music video for its narrative depth and melodic warmth. However, Scotti felt there was a hidden layer of intimacy that could only be unearthed by stripping away the traditional safety nets of guitars, drums, and bass. By reimagining the track as a purely vocal performance, the ensemble has leaned into a “vocal Americana” sound that echoes the precision of groups like Pentatonix while maintaining the rugged, dusty soul of the open road.

The editorial vision for this remix was clear from the start: create a cinematic vibe that feels grounded in a quiet, uplifting, and reflective mood. At a steady 98 BPM, the track doesn’t rush. It breathes. It invites the listener to sit in the passenger seat of a long drive through the heartland, where the only accompaniment is the harmony of the wind and the rhythmic pulse of the journey itself.

<img title="img2-1 "decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1989000" src="https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/img2-1.jpg" alt="img2-1 Darryl Scotti & Big Yard Redefine Americana with A Cappella Release of "State Of Mind" " width="344" height="513" srcset="https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/img2-1.jpg 344w, https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/img2-1-335x500.jpg 335w" sizes="(max-width: 344px) 100vw, 344px" />

A Masterclass in “Vocal Landscape”

What makes this remix particularly striking is the organic musicianship and heartfelt songwriting. While the foundation remains firmly rooted in the Americana tradition of storytelling and honesty, the voices carry the landscape.

The official music video brings State Of Mind (The Remix) to life through a vibrant, color-rich visual inspired by an Andy Warhol-style avant-garde aesthetic. Four uniquely expressive singing heads highlight this presentation. The bass vocals serve as the understated groove, providing a percussive weight that replaces the need for other instruments, demonstrating that the human voice is the only instrument you need when the songwriting is strong and the performers are elite. the need for a kick drum. Meanwhile, the mid-range harmonies create a lush atmosphere, filling the sonic space with a texture that feels as rich as a full orchestra.

Engineering the AAA Sound: The Architecture of Authenticity

This release is strategically positioned for the Adult Album Alternative (AAA) listener—a demographic that values “craft over clout.” It is a track built for those who appreciate the subtle details: the way a harmony resolves, the grit in a lead vocal, and the courage it takes to stand “naked” in a recording studio without the camouflage of electronic effects.

Music directors and playlisters in the “Chill Americana” and “Pulse of Americana” spheres are already noting that “State of Mind” fills a unique gap in the market. It provides a moment of zen in a noisy world, offering a “reflective mood” that works as well for a morning coffee ritual as it does for a late-night drive.

The Legacy of the Song

By releasing this a cappella version on April 3, Darryl Scotti & Big Yard are not just adding a remix to their catalog; they are challenging the industry’s definition of “full production.”

<img title="img3-1 "decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1989001" src="https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/img3-1.jpg" alt="img3-1 Darryl Scotti & Big Yard Redefine Americana with A Cappella Release of "State Of Mind" " width="345" height="124" />

They are proving that when the songwriting is strong and the performers are elite, the human voice is the only instrument you truly need. As listeners press play on this new rendition, they aren’t just hearing a song; they are entering a “State Of Mind” that is pure, unadulterated, and profoundly human.

Rising New Orleans recording artist PMG Streetz 504, formerly known as Yung Streetz, officially steps into a new chapter of his career with the announcement of his upcoming project S.O.N. (Scheduled One Narcotics), set to release in late March.

Marking a powerful rebrand, the transition from Yung Streetz to PMG Streetz 504 represents more than a name change — it solidifies his evolution as both an artist and entrepreneur while reinforcing the foundation of his label, Paid Music Group (PMG). The new identity reflects growth, discipline, and a sharpened creative direction rooted in authenticity and ownership.

S.O.N. (Scheduled One Narcotics) delivers raw, unapologetic hip hop lyricism layered with a melodic sing-style twist, positioning PMG Streetz 504 within the emerging rhythm-and-rap format that continues to shape the sound of modern hip hop. The project blends street narratives, personal elevation, and Southern grit, all anchored in the cultural pulse of New Orleans.
<img title="unnamed-14-500x281 "decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1988994" src="https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/unnamed-14-500x281.jpg" alt="unnamed-14-500x281 Rising New Orleans Recording Artist PMG Streetz 504, Formerly Known As Yung Streetz, Officially Steps Into A New Chapter Of His Career " width="500" height="281" srcset="https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/unnamed-14-500x281.jpg 500w, https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/unnamed-14.jpg 700w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" />
The release follows the momentum of his single “No Brakes,” featured on the West Side Story project, which introduced listeners to the intensity and hunger driving this new era. With S.O.N., PMG Streetz 504 builds on that energy, presenting a more refined, strategic, and elevated body of work.

“This project represents growth, pressure, and purpose,” says PMG Streetz 504. “It’s about being scheduled for greatness — no delays, no brakes.”

As the face of Paid Music Group, PMG Streetz 504 is not only expanding his artistry but establishing a brand built on independence, ambition, and Southern resilience. The upcoming project is expected to resonate with fans of raw lyricists who appreciate substance while embracing melodic evolution.

S.O.N. (Scheduled One Narcotics) will be available on all major streaming platforms April 4, 2026.

Atlanta has never lacked stars—but what it has always respected is authenticity. And right now, Paper Route Empire’s PDE movement, in collaboration with PaperMaker Entertainment, is putting that authenticity front and center with its latest spotlight: 2FeetBino.

Emerging from the trenches with a sound rooted in pain, survival, and ambition, 2FeetBino represents a new generation of Southern artists who don’t just rap about the struggle—they embody it. His records carry a rawness that cuts through the noise, positioning him as one of the most promising voices coming out of the region.

THE PDE VISION: BUILDING REAL ARTISTS, NOT MOMENTS

Under the strategic guidance of Kavon Jacobs (Paper Flow) and the growing influence of PDE’s Southern infrastructure, this spotlight isn’t just about visibility—it’s about long-term positioning.

PDE’s model is simple but powerful:

Identify real street narratives

Pair them with high-level industry execution

Turn regional motion into national impact

2FeetBino checks every box.

<img title="Photo-Mar-03-2025-5-34-13-PM-16-1-366x500 "decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1988987" src="https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Photo-Mar-03-2025-5-34-13-PM-16-1-366x500.jpeg" alt="Photo-Mar-03-2025-5-34-13-PM-16-1-366x500 PAPERMAKER ENTERTAINMENT DOUBLES DOWN: PDE SPOTLIGHT SHINES ON 2FeetBino AS NEXT VOICE OF THE STREETS " width="366" height="500" srcset="https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Photo-Mar-03-2025-5-34-13-PM-16-1-366x500.jpeg 366w, https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Photo-Mar-03-2025-5-34-13-PM-16-1.jpeg 513w" sizes="(max-width: 366px) 100vw, 366px" />

<img title="32 "decoding="async" class="an1" draggable="false" src="https://fonts.gstatic.com/s/e/notoemoji/17.0/1f50a/32.png" alt="32 PAPERMAKER ENTERTAINMENT DOUBLES DOWN: PDE SPOTLIGHT SHINES ON 2FeetBino AS NEXT VOICE OF THE STREETS " data-emoji="🔊" aria-label="🔊" /> WHY 2FEETBINO?

In a landscape oversaturated with trends, 2FeetBino’s approach is refreshingly direct. His music leans into:

Street storytelling with emotional weight

Melodic undertones that expand commercial reach

A visual presence that reflects the culture authentically

This balance gives him the ability to live in two worlds—the streets and the mainstream—a lane that has historically produced some of hip-hop’s biggest stars.

<img title="32 "decoding="async" class="an1" draggable="false" src="https://fonts.gstatic.com/s/e/notoemoji/17.0/1f4c8/32.png" alt="32 PAPERMAKER ENTERTAINMENT DOUBLES DOWN: PDE SPOTLIGHT SHINES ON 2FeetBino AS NEXT VOICE OF THE STREETS " data-emoji="📈" aria-label="📈" /> WHAT THIS SPOTLIGHT MEANS

The PDE spotlight is more than a co-sign—it’s a launchpad.

With publishing conversations heating up and major partnerships forming behind the scenes, this move signals a calculated push toward:

Streaming acceleration

Playlist dominance

Radio crossover potential

Sources close to the camp indicate that select records are already being lined up for strategic rollout, hinting at a bigger play designed to introduce 2FeetBino to a nationwide audience.

<img title="32 "decoding="async" class="an1" draggable="false" src="https://fonts.gstatic.com/s/e/notoemoji/17.0/1f30d/32.png" alt="32 PAPERMAKER ENTERTAINMENT DOUBLES DOWN: PDE SPOTLIGHT SHINES ON 2FeetBino AS NEXT VOICE OF THE STREETS " data-emoji="🌍" aria-label="🌍" /> THE SOUTH CONTINUES TO LEAD

From Atlanta to Memphis, the South remains the heartbeat of hip-hop—and PDE is making sure it stays that way.

By aligning rising talent like 2FeetBino with experienced executives and infrastructure, the movement is reinforcing a key truth:

The next wave isn’t coming—it’s already here.

<img title="32 "decoding="async" class="an1" draggable="false" src="https://fonts.gstatic.com/s/e/notoemoji/17.0/1f680/32.png" alt="32 PAPERMAKER ENTERTAINMENT DOUBLES DOWN: PDE SPOTLIGHT SHINES ON 2FeetBino AS NEXT VOICE OF THE STREETS " data-emoji="🚀" aria-label="🚀" /> FINAL WORD

<img title="Photo-Mar-03-2025-5-34-13-PM-16-1-366x500 "decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1988987" src="https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Photo-Mar-03-2025-5-34-13-PM-16-1-366x500.jpeg" alt="Photo-Mar-03-2025-5-34-13-PM-16-1-366x500 PAPERMAKER ENTERTAINMENT DOUBLES DOWN: PDE SPOTLIGHT SHINES ON 2FeetBino AS NEXT VOICE OF THE STREETS " width="366" height="500" srcset="https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Photo-Mar-03-2025-5-34-13-PM-16-1-366x500.jpeg 366w, https://hiphopsince1987.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Photo-Mar-03-2025-5-34-13-PM-16-1.jpeg 513w" sizes="(max-width: 366px) 100vw, 366px" />

As PaperMaker Entertainment continues to expand its reach and PDE solidifies its foothold in the industry, one thing is clear:

2FeetBino isn’t just being introduced—he’s being positioned.

And if the current momentum is any indication, this spotlight may very well mark the beginning of his breakout run.

When the West reunites with the East for a catchy tune that makes you want to turn up your volume! East Palo Alto’s very own Young Maynee teams up with Eastwick’s very own Chance on a hiphop mixed with trap that makes your speakers feel the vibration. “Plain” is a single from Young Maynee’s new upcoming album “Dat Migo 3” that will drop later on this year. Young Maynee spits a catchy chorus through out the single that is undeniable, with a westside flavor to his lyrics while Chance raps his way through talking about the cities he’s in over in the east coast and the females he claims “plain jane”.

These two musical artists has had previous songs through out the years which has passed the decade mark. Their first collaboration was “Hip Hop Hooray Remix” in 2010, “On My Own” in 2011, “Money On My Mind” in 2011, “Soft Remix” in 2013, “Im Still Hustling” in 2014, “Homicide” in 2014. We havent heard both artists collaborating since 2014 until the remix to “I Hit A Lick Remix” we seen collaborating once again. Having both artists uniting once again with a fresh brand new track “PLAIN” hit the streets makes it one more for history! Starting the year strong with a refreshing new single “Plain” from both artists reminds us they both arent stopping anytime soon!

Omaha City is not known for music, but community activist-turned-emcee Call Me Hood (also known as David Mitchell) is setting the tone for more to come. The buzzing scam rap star is popping off on the dark web with songs like “Job Application Story” and “Flo App Cheating Method,” which are creating fans at a high level, prompting his social media to grow to massive numbers, including his Instagram at 188K and his TikTok growing to 21K so far with millions of likes across multiple posts.

His newest project, Ultimate Coworker Music, is a parody project, poking fun at workplace situations that everyone encounters in the general work force. After the stage was set by creatives like Teejayx6 and Punchmade Dev, Call Me Hood is looking to reach the top and even potentially secure a Drake co-sign like Guapdad 4000.

Known for putting on for his city in various ways, he has something special about building community online through comedy. Although the comedy is dark at times, he has found a way to galvanize people to share tough experiences in the most light-hearted ways.

Press play on his hilarious new full-length effort now!
