Hair Update

My hair has successfully grown to my inspiring hair length that I made last summer when my natural hair journey began. It has progressed to be thicker softer and shinier. Now for this new year of 2011 I am setting my goals a little higher than usual. For my new hair goal I have set my growing goal to these wonderful photos.

Yesterday I spent the day indulging myself in the beautiful botanical garden known as the Los Angeles Arboretum. It was an ethereal feeling being among such exotic architecture that was reminiscent of a beautiful rain forest. I will definitely visit this place again.

I love sweater dresses. Especially during fall. They keep me warm during the cold months, and they are so versatile that you can wear them with skinny jeans, boots, leggings or tights. You can also accessorize them with belts and chunky jewelry, but for these pictures I chose to wear my dress with tights as seen in the photos below.

Before going natural I would relax and dye my hair. I did not want to see any new growth coming in. If I saw any curl patterns I would relax it immediately. I was also the queen of wearing weaves. All that is behind me and I am on a journey to healthy hair.

I went natural about 3 months ago. I am still learning about my natural hair. I have to admit at first I was frustrated with my hair as I did not know what worked. But with trial and error I am slowly learning what my hair likes. What has been working so far for my hair is Ayurvedic powders.

My current Ayurvedic mix includes the following:
Brahmi
Aritha
Neem
Alma
Henna
Coconut Milk

I did a treatment over the weekend and my curls were more defined and my hair had a gloss which it has never had before.
