We had a great turnout at the ISNA conference premiere of Leap of Faith walhamdulillah. Approximately 300+ people attended the premiere, and we received quite a bit of positive feedback from our viewers.

One of our goals is that we donate 50% of our profits to charity. Folks donated at the ISNA premiere, and even though it’s not profit, we gave 50% of it to an orphan fund. So not only did people enjoy Leap of Faith, but they also made a difference in the world!

This is a very exicting milestone for us, and we have Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to thank for it.

We’re considering our next steps, including (but not limited to) a premiere in the Washington, DC metropolitan area before Ramadan, making the 2D version of Leap of Faith available for sale, and inshaAllah our next film!

HIPURductions is pleased to announce (and very excited about!) the premier of its short film Leap of Faith in stereoscopic 3D at the upcoming ISNA Conference inshaAllah. The Conference will be held in Chicago, Illinois from July 2 to 5, 2010 at the Rosemont Convention Center. The movie will be playing for free in a designated room throughout the Conference. The room where it will be showing is still to be determined, but we hope that you plan to attend the Conference and take some time to watch it! We will be there, so we would love to meet you and get your feedback as well.

HIPURductions was interviewed for The Muslim Link, a newspaper that serves the Washington DC area Muslims. We talked about our upcoming 3D film that will be premiering at the ISNA convention in Chicago in July inshaAllah. Here is the article.

The Muslim Link Paper is published every other week on Fridays and distributed throughout the Washington and Baltimore Metropolitan Areas. TML is based at Dar-us-Salaam in College Park, Maryland, USA.

We have, Alhamdulillah, completed Principal Photography on the short film Leap of Faith (LoF) on April 26th . This means we finished our initial filming of the movie. During Post Production (editing the movie) it may become clear certain shots may be missing so we would have to re-shoot a few things or if we film new things that are necessary, it would be referred to as “Pick-ups”.  Here are a few screen captures of the film. We have recently been investigating the use of the Canon 7D as a 3D solution for our Leap of Faith short film. The 3D tech on the movie, Rami Santrisi, came up with a white paper in an attempt to layout the possibilities of using the 7D optimally if used as a stereo capture device. We are talking about using two Canon 7D’s attached in some way to enable this kind of capture. Here is the white paper:

As for which route we end up taking, that will depend on further testing. As of right now, Option #3 is the most optimal without any loss of resolution, but complete loss of access to the video feeds from either camera. The DP for the film will be assessing the impacts of using these options and moving forward with what he thinks would work best for the film. As always, we’ll try to keep you updated. Peace.

We are very excited here at HIPUR for our upcoming short film: Leap of Faith. It is a short about an acrophobic man who needs to overcome his fears. This movie inshaAllah will be in Stereoscopic 3D–or S3D.

Due to our director traveling, we had to push back production a few weeks from our original dates–end of March. We will be shooting the movie

April 23rd through April 27th

God willing, with the 28th and 29th as backups for any re-shoots we may need. If you are in Maryland and would like to come and see what it’s all about, we do have room for 2-3 individuals to come and view the process. We also have 3 PA positions if anyone is interested. PA is Production Assistant, and would help out in various ways with whatever is necessary for things that need to get done and doesn’t require any previous experience.

So we’ve been consistently  bringing you a live feed of the tafseer that Bayyinah founder Nouman Ali Khan has, every week since April of 2009. We’ve broadcast every week that Br. Nouman has had the class alhamdulillah right here. It has been 10 months since we started on April 14th and we are still going strong. Juzu’ Amma will be finishing fairly soon so tune in for the last few sessions of this amazing part of the Quran, for a tafseer that is, to say the least, worth every minute. For those who faithfully tune in every week, we do hope you enjoy the Tafseer and benefit from it. If you have a minute, drop us a note and tell us what you think.

So we’ve been working on a few things recently. We’ve continued our live broadcast of Bayyinah instructor Nouman Ali Khan’s Tafseer from Dallas, TX. We’ve done an event or two for Al-Madina, again, for live broadcast. In the background however, we’ve been hard at work on a few short film projects–one being Leap of Faith.

Leap of Faith is a short about Kareem, a young guy, with Acrophobia. That’s fear of heights which he must overcome. We don’t want to tell you too much about the story itself. InshaAllah we’ll be filming late March, early April and have a finished product a month or so later. We plan to shoot this movie in Stereoscopic 3D. That’s the 3D you get when you go to the theaters and wear glasses. This movie will also be viewable in 2D, but we thought it’s time for 3D. We’ll keep you updated as things move forward.
