Beyond The Masjid PSA

Our newest addition to our portfolio is this short PSA about living Islam beyond the masjid. While at school or work, one may be hesitant to do things like prayers or be open and honest about what makes being Muslim special in their lives. This video hopefully puts a few questions out there for you to think about and help you with some answers for situations like this in the future.

We’ve been away for a while, but that was mainly due to a few of us having kids, and others traveling extensively. Hopefully we’ll get right back on track though. Here is the last installment of the Behind the Scenes of Leap of Faith 3D. As we said before, it was an amazing journey making the film, and hopefully this will help you enjoy the experience through our eyes.

Giving Money to Islamic Relief

One of our core principals here at HIPURductions is that 50% of our profits go to charity. We took the money we have received from you, and have given 50% of it to help orphans!
The charity we chose was Islamic Relief USA. Islamic Relief is rated at 4-stars on charity Navigator. In a letter to Islamic Relief, Interim President of Charity Navigator Michael Smith commended the accomplishment:
“Islamic Relief USA outperforms most charities in America in its efforts to operate in the most fiscally responsible way possible. This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Islamic Relief USA from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”

We donated to the “Orphans Support” cause at islamicreliefusa.org. Thank you all for doing your part and supporting HIPURductions. Rest assured that your contributions are going to great causes!

The Making Of LOF 3D Part 2

Behind the scenes part two: more people, more scenes, and more fun! It was a long and awesome journey and we figured you would enjoy peaking behind the scenes at how we accomplished the finished product.

This is how we made a short movie, with a low budget, in 3D!! We used 2 Canon 7Ds, a custom rig, and a crew excited about making something new. It was fun, and here is what happened along the way. If you like this, comment, subscribe, or become a fan of us on Facebook.

We know you’ve been waiting to see it and here it comes! We will be releasing the 2D and 3D versions of the film online for your viewing pleasure on Friday October 22nd inshaAllah. We are always very humbled by the amount of work it takes to produce even the shortest of films (the right way of course) and by how much dedication people show while working on something hopefully worthwhile. Thank you for being patient, and we can’t wait for you to see the film. See you in a couple of weeks!

ISNA 3D Premiere, what’s next?

Bismillah.

We had a great turnout at the ISNA conference premiere of Leap of Faith walhamdulillah. Approximately 300+ people attended the premiere, and we received quite a bit of positive feedback from our viewers.

One of our goals is that we donate 50% of our profits to charity. Folks donated at the ISNA premiere, and even though it’s not profit, we gave 50% of it to an orphan fund. So not only did people enjoy Leap of Faith, but they also made a difference in the world!

This is a very exicting milestone for us, and we have Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to thank for it.

We’re considering our next steps, including (but not limited to) a premiere in the Washington, DC metropolitan area before Ramadan, making the 2D version of Leap of Faith available for sale, and inshaAllah our next film!

Leap of Faith Premiere in 3D at ISNA Conference

HIPURductions is pleased to announce (and very excited about!) the premier of its short film Leap of Faith in stereoscopic 3D at the upcoming ISNA Conference inshaAllah. The Conference will be held in Chicago, Illinois from July 2 to 5, 2010 at the Rosemont Convention Center. The movie will be playing for free in a designated room throughout the Conference. The room where it will be showing is still to be determined, but we hope that you plan to attend the Conference and take some time to watch it! We will be there, so we would love to meet you and get your feedback as well.

Update on June 29, 2010

Alhamdulillah the room has been selected. InshaAllah the movie will be playing in Conference Room 46 at the ISNA Conference. The following are the times when it will be playing.

Friday
6:00 – 6:30 PM
7:00 – 7:30 PM
8:00 – 8:30 PM

Saturday
1:00 – 1:30 PM — Grand Opening
1:30 – 2:00 PM
7:00 – 7:30 PM
