Katriona is the niece of another baby I shot as a newborn just 10 months prior. In fact, Katriona’s newborn session and her uncle’s 9 month session were just a few weeks apart! I just love that story. Because of the age/relationship, we photographed Katriona in the very same basket we used to photograph her uncle.

Miss Katriona was an older baby girl and was very alert and aware of her surroundings. She made us work pretty hard, but oh my goodness… wasn’t it worth it?

It seems like just a few weeks ago, I was shooting sweet, sleeping, brand new Harrison. Remember this little angel?

Wait’ll you see him now! Harrison is 9 months old.

This charmer has dimples and the sweetest little rolls in all the right places. He was so happy for a full hour and a half, and we kept shooting and he kept flirting and smiling. Doesn’t that belly laugh just make you giggle?

I can’t believe how much he’s starting to look like big brother, River!

Adam, little stinker, arrived a couple weeks early on the very day we left for the holidays. His mom told the doctor, “He can’t be born yet, my photographers are out of town!” I’m not sure why, but Baby Adam’s doctor didn’t seem to think that was a good excuse to wait. ;) Adam was just too eager to meet his big brother, big sister, and parents. Because of his early arrival, we actually photographed him on his due date. He is so, so loved, this one.

Apollo is one of my baby plan babies. I’ve photographed him as a newborn, 8 weeks, 5 months and 9 months old. He might be the happiest baby you’ve ever meet. I’m convinced those baby blues could melt icebergs. This one is going to be a heartbreaker.

Allison’s session was so much fun – she’s such a great girl. First she’s a Starbuck’s barista, which is always a plus in my book. But she’s also a dynamo big sister to four little brothers and sisters. We also learned Allison is a laser tag champ – although Randy thinks he can beat her. (Can you hear me laughing from here???) We got to shoot Taylor for a double-session; this allowed both an urban location, and one in the field grasses and warm sunset light. She was fabulous to work with – not only beautiful, but such a great sport! Taylor is a hard-worker and has a great sense of humor. It was truly a joy to capture these moments of her senior year. This week is Brielle’s due date, but this sweet little peanut is already 5 weeks old! Born 5 weeks premature, Brielle was still so tiny when she came into the studio 3 weeks before her due date. Isn’t she just tiny and perfect? In spite of her early arrival and tiny size, she is healthy and doing very well!

It was a magic moment… I started off with 2 beautiful, wide-awake girls and slowly, slowly we quietly got sleepier… and sleepier… and sleepier. It might be a once-in-a-lifetime in the studio to get two sleeping 3-month-old twin babies curled up. And they were just as precious asleep! It took us awhile to get them in a deep sleep, but oh! The shots were so worth it.

Beautiful Katie is an Iowa native who is currently spending her junior year on the East Coast where we caught up with her for these updated modeling portfolio and headshots. We’ve worked with Katie before. If you’ve been out to our studio, you may recognize her.

She is amazing in front of the camera, an absolute natural. And she is such a pro! It was so, so cold and it snowed 10 inches in 6 hours the day of her photoshoot. When editing, I could see her goose bumps but she was a stoic and constant professional.

Thanks, Katie! This shoot was so much fun.

I could have taken that sweet thing home with me if her mommy and daddy wouldn’t miss her so much. Full of smiles and energy, this sweet 18-month-old girl played peek-a-boo and ran and ran through crunchy leaves. Her mom and dad were a joy to shoot, as well… such a sweet family. I can’t wait to watch this family and this little girl grow from behind my lens.
