La Liga Contra el Cáncer is a non-profit organization comprised of more than 350 Florida physicians who volunteer their services to provide low to no-cost treatments and services to cancer patients, primarily Hispanics, with no financial resources or health insurance.

Rios, the only Latina featured on a national daytime talk show, was tapped by P&G to transform an existing waiting room at the Center into a tranquil, relaxation lounge where cancer patients could rest and relax before and after treatments. She will unveil the newly renovated space to La Liga staff and patients at a private luncheon starting at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 19th.

Dubbed the “Mobile Martha Stewart” by Latina magazine, Rios’ dramatic room makeovers have been featured on the “Rachael Ray Show” as well as HGTV and TLC networks.

Since it opened its doors more than 35 years ago, La Liga has provided nearly 50,000 uninsured men, women and children with world-class medical treatments and support services. P&G has been one of La Liga’s key partners, contributing more than $4 million to the organization throughout its 20 year partnership.

The P&G sponsored room makeover follows the company’s presenting sponsorship of Hispanicize 2013, the annual Miami-based Latino trends event where it announced a donation of more than $200,000 in P&G product to two Miami Hispanic charities, La Liga Contra el Cáncer and the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC)- Miami. The product donations will be used to provide needed goods and support to Miami-based residents served by the two organizations.

PR Newswire, an official sponsor of Hispanicize 2013, invites conference attendees to tell their story and help inform a broader audience about the bicultural U.S. Latino community. The campaign, “Share Your Historia,” will kick off at the conference. Hispanicize 2013 (http://www.HispanicizeEvent.com), the fourth annual Latino trends event, is taking place at the Eden Roc Hotel in Miami Beach, April 9-13.

The “Share Your Historia” campaign invites U.S. Latinos to share how they manifest their connection to Hispanic culture. The initiative aims to celebrate this affinity and to share insights into how it shapes the consumer choices U.S. Latinos make with a wider audience.

Hispanicize 2013 attendees can share their stories on site at the PR Newswire booth, booth #8, on video and via social media using Twitter hashtag #shareyourhistoria. PR Newswire invites participants to share affirmations and interesting details about U.S. Latinos’ bicultural lifestyles, colorful insights and interesting stories.

“Our goal is to celebrate the vibrancy and sustainability of Hispanic culture in the United States,” said Dalia Paratore , Director, Multicultural Products and Services, PR Newswire. “As the recent Nielsen report ‘The Hispanic Market Imperative’ indicates, 9 out of 10 Hispanic parents want their children to be able to speak Spanish, and that 60% of adults say they want to be more bicultural, all suggest that Hispanic culture in the United States is here to stay.”

PR Newswire, a long-time sponsor of Hispanicize, will also invite attendees to stop by its booth to collect a Latin American flag sticker they can attach to their PRN “Share Your Historia” pin, and to participate in two Visa gift card raffles.

Chevrolet is the Official Automotive Sponsor of Hispanicize 2013, the annual national showcase for Latino trendsetters in social media, marketing, innovation and entertainment to be held from April 9-13, in Miami. General Motors has a seat on the Hispanicize 2013 National Advisory Board, and this marks the third consecutive year for Chevrolet as a conference sponsor.

“Chevrolet is participating in several panels during Hispanicize,” says Gloria Tostado, GM Communications Manager-Hispanic Markets. “This conference presents opportunities to engage and network with the leading Hispanic bloggers and communicators in the country, while also learning about what’s new and exciting,” she adds.

The third annual Hispanicize event brings brands, media, marketers, celebrities, filmmakers, innovators and bloggers together in a unique environment focused on ideas and best practices.

“We appreciate Chevy’s sponsorship and partnership for Hispanicize 2013,” says Manny Ruiz, CEO, Hispanicize. “Through their support, GM is helping us build and understand the importance of Latinos in social media. We’re proud to have Chevy onboard and look forward to a continued partnership.”

At the conference, Chevrolet will participate in two panels: “Vroom Vroom: Getting plugged into the automotive industry,” led by automotive journalist Eric Paz, and “How to Plan and Execute a Great Latino Blogger Event,” led by Connie Burke, General Motors Diversity Communications-Women’s Markets. A blogging case study based on last year’s American Latino Heritage Road Trip will be held on Friday, April 12 and will expand on how GM is reaching out to Latinos in social media.

MIAMI, FL (March 28, 2013) – The volume will be rising tenfold at Hispanicize 2013 this year as the annual Latino trends event today unveiled a music line up of indie groups and artists that will highlight the event’s “Biggest Night in Music” showcase set for Thursday, April 11 at the iconic New World Center of Miami Beach.

“This music night is a statement night for Hispanicize 2013 because it underscores the extreme lengths we will go to showcase the rising Latin music stars that deserve to be recognized by brands, agencies, bloggers, journalists and all Latino cultural influencers that converge at Hispanicize,” said Manny Ruiz, founder and creative director of Hispanicize 2013. ”We will work hard to introduce these artists to the brands and influencers that should pay attention to them because it’s for this very reason why Hispanicize was created.”

Headlining the show will be Puerto Rican pop-rock duo, Domino Saints, and 10 other indie artists, DJs and bands that include: Hola Hi, Solz5, Sonsoles, Locos Por Juana, DJ EL Dusty, La Santa Cecilia, Sons of Mariel (Diego Val), Sito Rocks, Wise the Gold Pen, Santaye and a multi Grammy-award winning music group that will be announced shortly.

Hispanicize Event badge holders will have access to the entire New World Center—the main stage that will feature non-stop performances, backed up by DJs who will endlessly spin through out the night and in-between sets. Each floor of the New World Center will be taken over by music performances or appearances, while appetizers and specialty cocktails are served. Online radio giant Pandora will feature an exclusive “Pandora Den” with intimate acoustic performances by rising stars.

The full day-by-day schedule for the Latin music industry panels of the event and the entire music performance schedule will be announced next week.

Special Hispanicize Music and Film Festival Badges for limited access to those portions of the event are available online for $150 at www.Hispz13.eventbrite.com. Full access to the event can be purchased online. Hispanicize 2013 (www.hispanicizeevent.com) will take place April 9-13, 2013 at the Eden Roc Hotel in Miami Beach (REGISTER HERE).

The fourth annual Latino trends event, journalists, bloggers, filmmakers, marketers and music artists will convene throughout the course of five days with more than 105 sessions and 260 speakers discussing ever facet of Hispanic media, social media, entertainment and marketing.
