<p>Have you noticed this? The bankers normally refuse to lend you any money when you need it desperately but they will go right to your doorsteps to offer you money (loan) when you are rich (you don&#8217;t need the money now). Why is it so? It is because bankers only offer to lend you money when they think that you are qualified (able to repay the loan).<span id="more-1627"></span></p>
<p>Some people may find it weird and think that why the banks only lend money to people who don&#8217;t need the money (<a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/319/successful-millionaire/" target="_blank">the rich</a>), and just refuse to lend it to those who need it urgently. But this is just how the banks work; they only lend money to those who are qualified by their standards so that they can earn profits through the interest.</p>
<p>This applies in our life too. In order to play our game at a higher level, we will need to qualify for it as well. There will be people who complain about life saying that they don&#8217;t have the money, time or network to help them get the <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/586/how-to-achieve-success-in-everything/" target="_blank">success</a> or money that they want. But if all they do is complain, they will be stuck at the &#8220;lower level&#8221;.</p>
<p>It is definitely easier to earn more money when we have the right people or capital to help us along the way. But the issue is this network or capital will not just appear right in front of your face. You will need to qualify for it.</p>

<p>As you can see in the above diagram, the line is kind of stagnant and going upwards slowly but once it reaches the turning point, the growth is exponential. The turning point is the point when you hit the qualified bracket and you have access to all the resources that you need to push for results.</p>
<p>For people who whine and complain about their lack (lack of money, time, skills, experience or money), they are usually caught in a limbo state just right around the starting point of the line. The point I want to drive home here is that instead of complaining that you lack the resources to succeed, put in the effort and time to move forward slowly until you hit the point where you are in the qualified bracket.</p>
<p>It is only once you are in the qualified bracket, you are granted access to the valuable resources (great network, capital, expertise of others) where all the other successful people in your field have.</p>
<p>Nobody is willing to work with someone who has not yet proven themselves. Put in your hard work and crawl to the point where others had seen you effort and results and decided to help you in your journey.</p>
<p>It is going to be a struggle before the turning point but once you reach the turning point, things get easier and you will find yourself playing in the higher levels with abundance of resources. This is why bankers go to Microsoft and while others go to the banker.</p>

<p><strong>What is good about it?</strong></p>
<p>Oatmeal is high in fibre and hence it aids keeping bowel movement regular. It also helps in keeping your blood sugar steady throughout the day which will prevent you from succumbing to your cravings or pigging out. It is also a good source of food that can help to lower cholesterol level.</p>

<p>Salmon consist of the good fats such as omega-3 fatty acids which is good for the heart. Omega-3 fatty acids also help to prevent blood clots which causes stroke. It also consist essential nutrients such as B6 which your immune and nervous system need in order to function properly.</p>
<p><strong>How I prepare it:</strong></p>
<p>I don&#8217;t like to spend too much time on cooking and hence all I do is to bake the salmon and squeeze some lemon juice on it once it is cooked. It is ready to serve! You can also sprinkle some oregano on it to add some flavour.</p>

<p>Grape tomatoes have a high content of vitamin A and C. Vitamin A plays a part in a variety of functions of our body such as keeping our skin, immune system and vision healthy. Vitamin C also helps in removing free radicals from your body which can cause cancer or heart disease and it also helps in keeping your immune system healthy.</p>

Do it the salad way. I mix it up with either lettuce or butterhead lettuce and add a handful of almonds in it and it is ready to be serve. Some times I snack just on it since I can easily grab it and no preparation is needed.</p>

<p>Almonds are packed with nutrients such as iron, calcium, riboflavin, fibre and magnesium. They are also a great source of protein and fat which is good for the heart.</p>

<p>Almond is a great snack and I either snack on it alone or just add it into my salad for that crunchy bite.</p>

<p>First of all, it is sweet and tasty! It helps when you craving for something sweet. Sweet potatoes contain a unique protein that have potent anti oxidant effects. It is also an excellent source of vitamin A and C.</p>

<p>What I do is that I usually steam it. However the problem comes after this. I find that it is a hassle to peel the skin off and sometimes it can be quite a turn off.</p>

<p>This is one of my favourite fruits. Apples are a rich source of flavonoid and polyphenois. Both of these are powerful anti oxidant that can help to eliminate free radicals. It also contains pectin that can help to remove toxic waste from our body. It is highly recommended as a healthy food and do remember the old saying, &#8220;an apple a day keeps the doctor away.&#8221;<br />

How I prepare it:</strong></p>
<p>I usually eat the apple whole and do not peel the skin. It is said that there are high amount of fibres nutrients in the skin of the apple but I believe I just find it too troublesome to peel it. Eating apples are convenient since all you need to do is to wash it and eat.</p>

<p>Olive oil has a remarkable amount of mono saturated acids and antioxidant substances. It is good for controlling bad choleric levels and protects us from heart disease. Research had also shown that taking olive oil can lower the risk of getting colon cancer.</p>
<p><strong>How I prepare it:</strong></p>
<p>There are a few types of olive oil and what I usually get is extra virgin and virgin olive oil. Virgin oil that are pure or extra light are usually processed and their beneficial properties may be lessen. The lesser the olive oil is handled or process, the more it is near its natural state and so does its properties.</p>
<p>There are times when I take a table spoon of it directly (it helps to prevent cravings) or I add it into my salad. I also cook with olive oil however over cooking can lessen the olive oil&#8217;s health benefits.</p>

<p>Carrots have anti-carcinogen properties which can help to prevent cancer. It also consists of beta carotene which is an anti oxidant that prevents cell degeneration and get rids of free radicals. Carrots are also good for the skin and eyes.</p>
<p><strong>How I prepare it:</strong></p>
<p>I normally juice my carrot as it helps to removes the indigestible fibre. There are lot so of nutrients that are in the indigestible fibre but you will not be able to get those nutrients if you are eating the carrot by itself. Juicing get rids of those fibres and you can thus get the nutrients in larger quantities.</p>

<p>Celery has been long recognized by Chinese medicine practitioner that it has the property of reducing blood pressure. It also has a high amount of Vitamin C which can aid in fighting cold and keeping your keeping immune system strong. Celery has diuretic properties which can help to clear up uric acid and provide some relief of health problems such as arthritis and rheumatism.</p>
<p><strong>How I prepare it:</strong></p>
<p>This is a regular item in my fruit as it adds a great flavour. What I do is to cut away the base of the celery (2 &#8211; 3 stalks) and juice the remaining of the celery.</p>

<p>I believe the majority of you who read this blog have goals that you want to achieve. Having goals is fun because it gives us something to aim for and to look forward to. However are you doing all you can to achieve your goals yet you are neglecting something that is the base for your success?<span id="more-1576"></span></p>
<p><big><strong>Health</strong></big></p>

<em>The health is the base for your life.</em></p>
<p>Health is the base for our success. You cannot be anything when you are seriously lacking in the health department. It acts as a base or springboard for success to come into our life. There are people who would do anything to get the results they want and kudos to them for their tenacity. However if they forgo the health department in their life, any success they had achieved will be short lived. How can you truly enjoy the fruits of your labour when you are sick and feeling miserable? Or worst, you don&#8217;t even have the time to enjoy your success. Basically, <strong>without health, you are nothing.</strong></p>
<p>I was hospitalized some time ago and that incident knocks some sense into me. I was working almost every day and earning money is the priority at that time and health had taken the second seat (maybe not the second, somewhere near the last few seats). I had never even given health a thought because I felt that I was in my prime of my life and health isn&#8217;t an issue to me. (Being young can spare me from diseases, am I right?) But I knew I was wrong when I find myself ended up in the hospital for a week and a half.</p>
<p>Neglecting our health is also the same as trying to saw a tree with a blunt saw. When you push your body too hard and don&#8217;t take care of it, your energy level drop drastically and you will feel tired easily. If you feel tired easily, how are you able to harness your maximum creativity, energy and passion into doing something for the best result?</p>
<h3>Healthy Living</h3>
<p>Healthy living isn&#8217;t about eating supplements all day. It is about changing your lifestyle. In our time now, we search for immediate results and speed. We want fast food, ready to cook food, <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/423/10-tips-to-help-you-lose-weight-healthily/" target="_blank">immediate weight loss diet</a> or anything that doesn&#8217;t takes up a lot of our time. Our time is precious and we want to save up those times to do things that we want to do. But adopting an unhealthy lifestyle only shortens the time you spend on earth alive. Contradicting.</p>
<p>The first thing you will need to do is to start out my taking note of your diet. Are you eating processed food, fast food, refined carbohydrates, canned food or any other junk food daily? If you are, you will need to start making it a habit to cut those foods out of your diet. You do not need to eliminate it completely and minimizing the intake of those foods is a great first step. To fight off your cravings, substitute those foods that you minimized with natural food such as vegetable and fruits. These are real foods that are packed with nutrients for your body.</p>
<p>Do hydrate yourself adequately daily. I start out my day with 2 cups of water with slices of lemon to help alkalize the body. It is also recommended to drink around half your body weight in ounces.</p>
<p><strong>(Formula:  [Body weight (lbs)/2 ]  = Answer (A). Take Answer (A) X 29.57 = Amount of water to drink daily (mL)</strong></p>
<p>Lastly, you will need to introduce exercises back into your lifestyle again. If you are watching more than 3 &#8211; 4 hours of TV programs per day, you need to get your ass out the couch and start moving again. This reminds me of what Tony Robbins said at his last <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/1529/tony-robbins-in-singapore/" target="_blank">UPW seminar in Singapore.</a></p>
<p><strong>Motions = Emotions</strong></p>
<p>Which means your physiology and action will in turn lead to how you feel. Most likely you will only feel tired after seating at the couch for hours.</p>
<p>These aren&#8217;t rocket science and everybody is able to do it. Everyone have the knowledge of living healthier but they just chose to ignore the knowledge and go with the flow and only do what they feel like doing. By the way, did I mention that if you go with the flow in life, you may end up at somewhere that you do not want to be at?</p>

<p>As we grew older, it seems like we are putting more and more restrictions on ourselves. These restrictions then cause us to stop enjoying ourselves as much as when we were young. We also tend to worry much more about image and that stop us from doing lots of things. Take a look at the kids around you, they sure know how to enjoy themselves. Give them some toys and they can imagine that they are flying a plane or fighting a monster and all this while they are truly enjoying themselves with their imaginations.<span id="more-1570"></span></p>
<h3>Difference Between Adult and Kids</h3>
<p>When a kid saw a puddle of water, they may jump and stomp on it. Even though they are getting dirty, you can look at the smile on their face and their laughter. It is totally real and they are really enjoying what they are doing.</p>
<p>But what if an adult saw a puddle of water? The first thing they would do is to stare at it, give a frustrated look and walk around it. That is not all! The adult will then start to complain and bitch about why is that puddle of water in front of them after walking away. Can you see the difference?</p>
<p>I had once read from a book that kids are good teachers and adults should learn more from them. It is true because as we grew up, we forgot about little things in life that are important. Have you forgotten about the little things in life? Have you buried yourself in the hectic pace of the society and forgot all about enjoying yourself?</p>

<p>It is good to be optimistic as it can keep our spirit up and optimistic people tend to achieve what they want to achieve. Isn&#8217;t that true? Yes, that is what the experts or everyone is saying. But how true is this theory that being optimistic is beneficial to us?</p>
<p>Let us take a look at The Secret. The theory of The Secret is that you will need to keep thinking about what you want in order to attract it to your life. So naturally this means that you will need to be optimistic and think only about the positive. I am not saying that being positive is a wrong thing to do but I am questioning whether it is the best approach?<span id="more-1564"></span></p>
<p>I had seen people who embrace the theory of being optimistic in every situation and it does well for them because they <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/257/learn-how-to-be-happy-andrew-matthews/">feel happier</a> at that very moment. But it seems like to be that they are being blinded by their optimism that they lose their perception of reality. They drift to the future and lost sense of what is right in front of them now.</p>
<p>Let us take a look at an example. Let’s say John has a goal and his goal is to achieve financial freedom. But his situation right now is not favourable. He is working in a 12 hours a day job and earning $1500 per month. He decided to adopt the optimistic approach, be optimistic, think positive and hoping that things will get better.</p>
<h3>Optimist Approach VS Realist Approach</h3>
<p>How many of you believe that staying optimistic is going to help John achieve financial freedom? Yes, The Secret says so that staying optimistic and thinking positive will attract the scenarios to help him get his dream job and earn $100,000 per year. But I am sure that this approach will not work out well.</p>
<p>To be fair to The Secret, I got to agree that staying optimistic to a certain extent does help to keep the mind sane. But this approach isn&#8217;t really the best way to achieve what you want in life. So what if John takes another approach instead? &#8211; The Realist Approach.</p>
<p>John has a goal to achieve financial freedom and he is stuck in his day 12 hours day job earning $1500 per month. <strong>He chose to be aware of his current situation.</strong> He knows that what he is doing now is not going to get him to where he want to be. The reality, the harsh facts and true numbers are staring in his face. He want to change and he knows that he is not optimistic about his current situation and in fact, he felt pessimistic about his future if things are going to continue the way it is. This is the point where he decided to change because is aware of his present situation.</p>
<p>Which approach do you think is the better one? The optimistic approach where John just stays optimistic and think positive or the realist approach where John is aware of the truth right now and decided that he needs to fix it in order to move on?</p>
<p>Just staying positive and overly optimistic<strong> puts you into a self denial mode</strong> and eventually you will become the world&#8217;s biggest liar by lying to yourself everyday. You lose your sense of reality (exp:not earning enough money now) and escape to the future(exp:financial freedom). This is not a very smart thing to do because if you do not fix your problems of today, the problem will still be there tomorrow. The problem doesn&#8217;t go away if all you do is to be optimistic of the future and stay ignorant of the problem staring at you now.</p>
<h3>Parting Words</h3>
<p>What I want to reinforce here is that you will need to avoid letting optimism take over your sense of reality. If you are unhealthy, broke or unhappy, it is a problem that you need to fix now. Don&#8217;t hold on to the thought that things will be better tomorrow when you are not taking any action to fix it. If nothing had been done, things are going to stay the same way! <p>Recently my productivity had been down spiralling. Even though I was aware of it, I found it hard to bring myself back into taking massive action. This led me to search for answers within myself.</p>
<p>I did a lot of reflection upon my action and thoughts and I found that productivity stem from the feeling of certainty. There are a bunch of techniques that can help us to <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/1347/33-things-you-should-stop-doing-to-double-your-productivity/" target="_blank">double our productivity</a> but without the feeling of certainty, we will not be able to take consistent action to bring in massive results.<span id="more-1561"></span></p>
<h3>Why Do You Need Certainty?</h3>
<p>I am in the internet marketing industry and I had tried various ways to make money online. However not 100% of them works for me. There are some methods that make me more money than the other.</p>
<p>Nowadays I procrastinate a lot on my projects because they don’t seem to be earning much income. I don&#8217;t used to be like that. I used to wake up every morning excited and start to do the tasks that are most important to my internet business.</p>
<p>So what is the reason for my dip in productivity? Is it because I am lazy or I&#8217;m just plain tired? The answer is no! My productivity dip is not due to laziness or just feeling tired. It is because I lack the feeling of certainty that my projects will give me enough rewards (make money) to justify myself to take action.</p>
<p>When you are certain about something, most probably you will put in more effort into it because you know you will be rewarded. But if you are not certain of the results, most probably you will put in minimal effort and give up immediately when you encountered obstacles. Think about it. How much effort will you put in when you know that you are bound to fail?</p>
<p>When you think that what you are going to do will not work, your thoughts will contradict your action. You will want to take action and move forward but your mind keep on thinking about how things are not going to work out and you take a few steps back. Without congruent action and thoughts, you will find it a struggle to take <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/783/how-to-stay-focused-and-achieve-great-results/" target="_blank">consistent action.</a></p>
<h3>How I Recover From My Dip In Productivity</h3>
<p>My reflection helps me to discover that the feeling of certainty is needed in order for me to start being productive again. I need to get back the feeling of certainty that those projects will work in order to help instil a strong positive belief. With the strong belief that things will work out, my thoughts and action are both congruent again.</p>
<p>This result in my willingness to put more effort into my projects and taking consistent action doesn&#8217;t seems to be a problem anymore.</p>
<p>If you are suffering from a dip in productivity or find it hard to take action, reflect upon yourself and find out whether your thoughts are holding you back? Do you believe in what you are doing? If you are not, most probably you are moving back and forth and staying in the same spot.</p>
<p>Remember this, you are not running at your fastest speed when you are taking 3 steps forward and 2 steps back. Congruent thoughts and action can help you to move forward at a much faster pace than you can probably imagine.</p>

<p>They also practice self sabotaging acts to prevent their maximum potential from shining through. Is it even possible? Who will want to stay in poverty, be mediocre or unhealthy? Nobody wants that to happen themselves but their actions speak other wise.<span id="more-1545"></span></p>
<h3>The Worst Self Sabotaging Habit</h3>
<p>Have you ever given excuses such as you lack the time to do something, or you lack the money to be rich or you are too young or too old to do something? I bet most of you do and I admit that I had made the same excuses too.</p>
<p>So why do we create those excuses? We create excuses to help us escape our fear of unknown, change or failure. We fear the unknown because we avoid things that we are not familiar with. We are fearful of change because we are not able to predict what will happen(we love to predict things accurately). We avoid failure because it does not feel good and it make us look extremely bad or stupid.</p>
<p>These excuses are our ways to escape from those fear. However giving excuses denies our personal growth. The first step towards growth is to be aware of your faults. You can only correct it when you are aware of it.</p>
<p>However when you are faced with what you have to do in order to make the changes, you create some excuses for yourself to stop yourself from taking action. This whole cycle keeps on repeating and you will find yourself stuck and underachieving in life.</p>
<h3>How To Kick Excuses Out Of Your Life</h3>
<p>Every time when we come out with excuses, there are 3 steps we should take to help us out kick it out of our life.</p>
<p>1. Question yourself whether your excuse is 100% true?<br />
2. Find evidence to show that your excuse is false.<br />
3. Reframe your excuse and take action now.</p>
<p>Here are some of the common excuses that we frequently use.</p>
<p><strong>Lack of time</strong></p>
<p>There are lots of people who complain that they lack the time to achieve the things they want in life. (let us take earning money for example) But how true is that? Everyone have the same 24 hours but why is it that there are people who achieve much more in the same amount of time.</p>
<p>It is because you are not time challenged, you are priority challenged. You chose to watch that TV show instead of working on your side business. You chose to talk for hours instead of thinking of how to run your business more efficiently. It is all a matter of choosing the right priority. If you are complaining that you lack the time to achieve, I would like to remind you that time is of abundance and what you are lacking is the ability to prioritize.</p>
<p><strong>Lack of money</strong></p>
<p>This is one of the excuses that I am guilty of. I always think that it takes money to make money and I lack the capital to run a successful business. The regular use of this excuse cause me to stay in a rut and failed to achieve anything. Whenever I have a business idea, my mind would whisper to me that I lack the money to achieve that. After hearing my own excuse, I quit before I even started.</p>
<p>I noticed this unhealthy pattern and I knew that this pattern is not beneficial for me. Right now whenever this excuse pop out in my head, I will tell myself if I need the money, I will go out there and find it using any ways which are ethical. The result is that I stumbled upon internet marketing which do not need as much cash compared to brick and mortar businesses.</p>
<p><strong>I&#8217;m too young/old</strong></p>
<p>There are people who think that they are too young or too old to start a business. Is it 100% true that you must reach a certain age before you can start running a business and rake in big money? Nope, there are no age limit and the thought of we are too young/old is a self imposed rule upon ourselves. Instead of thinking that you are too young, reframe it as being young means you are energetic, dynamic and you are able to look at things in a different view. If you think you are too old, why not reframe your thoughts and think that being old means that you are wiser and your experience will be helpful to you.</p>
<p>I had seen young entrepreneurs who are successful. My buddy <a href="http://www.pluginid.com" target="_blank">Glen Allsopp</a> is a great example. (Check out the last <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/1392/podcast-7-interview-with-glen-allsopp-from-pluginid/" target="_blank">interview</a> I did with him) He is already earning a 5 figure income and he is just 20 this year!</p>
<p>If you think you are too old, how about Colonel Sanders who started his Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise at a age of 65. Or take a look at the 112 years old madam that I had met at <a href="http://www.healthmoneysuccess.com/1529/tony-robbins-in-singapore/" target="_blank">Tony Robbins UPW Seminar</a>. Suddenly your age doesn&#8217;t seems like a obstacle after seeing the above examples isn&#8217;t it? Our age is just a number and let us not make it an obstacle for our success.</p>

<p>What if your life is free from excuses? How much do you think that you can achieve? The sky is the limit! What is it that you want to do but you are not doing because your excuses are holding you back? Do you want to start your new exercise routine, run a business, create your own blog or go to college? What are your excuses and how much truth are there in it? Be aware of the excuses you have now and break free from it. You will get unstuck immediately and be more align to your true self.</p>

<p>However this means that we are dealing with a lot more information. Even though the information that we want may be lying out there online but it will be useless if we are not able to absorb it in.<span id="more-1505"></span></p>
<p>Here is how speed reading comes in. Imagine that you can take in information 3x faster now, does it help to make a difference to your life? You bet it does! You will be able to spend less time on learning and pick up much much more things.</p>
<p>So let me show you how I increase my reading speed by 300%.</p>
<h3>Top 3 Mistakes That People Make</h3>
<p><strong>1. Rereading</strong></p>
<p>Person A is moving towards his destination. He is moving in a way which he takes 5 steps forward and 3 steps back.</p>
<p>Person B is moving towards where Person A is heading without taking a step back.</p>
<p>Who will be reach the destination first? Person A or Person B?</p>
<p>Definitely Person B! Why is it so? Because all this time Person B is moving forward without taking a step back while Person A is moving forward but he take 3 steps back after taking 5 steps.</p>
<p>It is the same as reading, if you are reading like how Person A is walking, you are not unleashing your maximum speed in reading. You will need to eliminate the habit of tracing back what you had read in order to read faster. What you can do is to use a piece of A4 paper to cover what you had read so that you will not look back on  what you had read.</p>
<p><strong>2. Subvocalisation</strong></p>
<p>Reading and speaking out the words physically or mentally in the same time will slow you down. This is not a habit that you can easily eliminate because we were taught to read that way since we are young. However it is not impossible to change it.</p>
<p>One way of eliminating subvocalisation is to occupy your mind with another thought that is totally not related to what you are reading. One example would be repeating 1,2,3,4 to yourself in your mind while reading. This will be helpful in eliminating subvocalisation.</p>
<p><strong>3. Small field of vision.</strong></p>
<p>If you have a small field of vision and you are reading word for word, you slow down your reading speed drastically.</p>
<p>Most of the words in a paragraph are not important (words such as and, be, by and etc.) and we will able to read faster by skipping through them entirely. Being able to take in more words in a glance can help you to read faster.</p>
<h3>How To Increase Your Reading Speed By 200%</h3>
<p><strong>1. Calculate Your Reading Speed</strong></p>
<p>You will need to know how well you are faring now in order to make improvement. Go to the web and search for any information (around 600 words) and copy it into Words. Your Words program should be able to show you the amount of words in the paragraph that you had copied.</p>
<p>Read through it using your normal reading speed and time yourself with a timer. Lastly, divide the amount of words by the amount of time(minutes) you had spent on reading it. You now have your reading speed in words per minute (wpm).</p>
<p><strong>2. Read in chunks.</strong></p>
<p>You will have to practice to read in chunks. Instead of reading word for word, try to expand your field of vision and read 4 to 5 words (as much as you can) in one glance.</p>

<p>Our teachers or parents used to tell us not to read using fingers to guide ourselves. However that is the way that will help us to keep our eyes focused and not wander around. But in this case, using your finger is not recommended as it may be too big to act as a guide and block out the amount of words we can see in a glance.</p>
<p>Find a pen or pencil which are thin and use them as a guide. Hold the end of it and place the tip on the surface of the book (where you going to read) to guide your eye from line to line.</p>
<p><strong>4. Practice</strong></p>
<p>Speed reading is a skill that you need to practice regularly. Practice it every time when you are reading and you are bound to make improvement. Check your reading speed after following the above tips and see how much faster you are able to read now.</p>
