This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon.. AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the anti virus software's are not capable of destroying it .

NOW, FOR THE BEST PART

After the lawyer cashed the check, the insurance company had him arrested on 24 counts of ARSON!!!

With his own insurance claim and testimony from the previous case being used against him, the lawyer was convicted of intentionally burning his insured property and was sentenced to 24 months in jail and a $24,000 fine. This is a true story and was the First Place winner in the recent Criminal Lawyers Award Contest!

What's disturbing about a new hack of banking accounts – mostly those for commercial and business — isn't its ability to drain the accounts dry, it's that it uses information you willingly supply as it chats with you, according to Trusteer.

Trusteer, a firm focused on enterprise and consumer desktop security, describes how, in working with a financial institution, it revealed a new type of malware that uses live chat in order to commit the fraud. It's an act Trusteer calls "speaking with the devil." Trusteer explains that it uses a malware platform called Shylock that freezes a banking session when the users logs on, alerting them that "security checks" are underway. Here's what happens next:
The following message is displayed in the victim's browser:
The system couldn't identify your PC
You will be contacted by a representative of bank to confirm your personality.
Please pass the process of additional verification otherwise your account will be locked.
Sorry for any inconvenience, we are carrying about security of our clients.
It gets even stranger in the next step when the hacker begins live chatting with the victim, posing as a bank representative, to glean more personal information. Trusteer reports that the fraud could happen simultaneously to the live chat "enticing the victim to sign/verify fraudulent transactions that Shylock is initiating in the background."
Trusteer calls this "yet another example of the ingenuity of fraudsters" using applications that trusted providers have instituted to help customers.

A new class of cyber-attack is threatening PCs - emails which infect PCs without the user having to open an attachment.

The user will not even be warned this is happening - the only message that appears is 'loading'.

The email automatically downloads malicious software into your computer from elsewhere the moment a user clicks to open it.
The mails themselves are not infected - and thus will not 'set off' many web-security defense packages.

Security experts say that the development is 'particularly dangerous'.
'This sort of spam also affects cautious users which would never open an unknown attachment or link,' say security experts Eleven Research Team.

Previous generations of email-borne viruses and Trojans required users to click on an attachment - often an office document such as a PDF.

The new emails - dubbed 'drive-by emails' - have been detected 'in the wild' by computer researchers Eleven Research Team.

'This drive by spam automatically downloads malware when the e-mail is opened in the e-mail client,' says Eleven Research Team.

'Previous malware e-mails required the user to click on a link or open an attachment for the PC to be infected.'

The new generation of e-mail-borne malware consists of HTML e-mails which automatically downloads malware when the e-mail is opened.'

'This is similar to so-called drive by downloads which infect a PC by opening an infected website in the browser.'

Firms face raids and fines of up to £500,000 for sending unsolicited text messages about credit or compensation. The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) said tackling the issue was a "high priority". Typical messages claim recipients are entitled to money, promise to write off debts or find a loan, or suggest accident compensation can be claimed. But in many cases, the products they are selling can actually make people financially worse off. The ICO said it was investigating several cases at the moment, and had identified certain companies to target. The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) charity is running a campaign against unsolicited texts, and believes the messages cynically target vulnerable people. Late-night texts Sarah Stocks, from Plymouth, said she started to be bombarded by texts after enquiring online about applying for a loan. She decided not to go ahead with the application, but by then, her contact details were already being used. "I got [texts] all the time, sometimes four or five a day. You know, you're lying in bed reading, about to switch off the light, and you get a text at 10.30pm. But when you pick it up it says 'Do you want a loan for £5,000?'," she said. Credit Card 2.0 Technology Aids in Fraud and Theft Prevention

You may not think of a credit card — a piece of plastic with a magnetic strip — as the most technologically advanced device but a company is taking credit cards beyond this level to improve fraud prevention and even allow for multiple accounts on one card.

Ars Technica reports that Dynamic Inc., showed off some of its Credit Card 2.0 technology at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, including a card with a special magnetic strip programmed in real time and cleared of data after use (the Dynamic Credit Card). Other cards produced by the company include: a card that requires the users to type in a code on the card itself before use; a card that lets the users chose to use a credit card's points program for a purchase; and a card that brings multiple credit accounts onto one piece of plastic. Here's how Ars Technica describes the device:

The technology is impressive. The cards look and feel much like existing credit cards, and can be kept in your wallet and bent without harming the internal electronics. The difference is that an empty screen replaces a section of the numbers on the card's face, and you have to tap in a key using five built-in buttons before making a purchase. The LCD screen is then filled with a unique credit card number, and the magnetic strip on the back is coded with that number for use in the transaction. Once the transaction is over, the numbers leave the face of the card, and the magnetic strip returns to its blank state.

With this technology, a stolen card cannot be effectively used — unless the thief has your code — and credit card numbers are meaningless because they change with each use.

Cards using this technology, you may have guessed, need to be powered in some way. Ars Technica reports that the cards are run on batteries with a three year lifespan. It also notes that some pilot programs using the cards are already underway.

Fidel Castro has died more than once. That's if you believe the internet rumors that have the Cuban dictator croaking every couple years. But now the latest picture making the rounds as "evidence" could actually be malicious.
Business Insider blogger Joe Weisenthal first noticed the picture making the rounds via Twitter Tuesday morning:
There's a rumor going around, mostly on Twitter it seems, that Fidel Castro is dead.
This rumor goes around every few years or months, and there doesn't seem to be anything new to it, except that this picture is apparently floating around.
Here it is:
Euronews noted that same picture, however, could be more than just a harmless prank:
The latest information suggests that it is not a rumour but a pure and simple hoax aimed at spreading a dangerous trojan computer virus.
It is not the first time that Castro's death, an obviously attractive headline, has been used to spread a virus.
Castro was declared dead last August in an email with the subject "Fidel is Dead", that infected computers once the false video report had been clicked on.
