I caught Kayla and Rhythm taking a nap yesterday afternoon. Kayla had intended on reading a book while Rhythm munched on some hay but instead they both fell asleep.

Yesterday, we got 12 chicks. Each person in our family picked out 2 chicks each. We ended up with 2 leghorns, 2 red pullets. 2 Black Sex Links, and 8 Ameraucanas. They are suppose to be all female. This is our first attempt at raising chickens, so hopefully they will survive and thrive.

This is Mattie, just a few days old.

Haven’t posted one of Kaybear on Rhythm in awhile… well since October which around here means it has been forever. This photo was actually taken in November on an unusually warm and sunny day. She rides Rhythm in a little area behind a nearby church. Rhythm parked out at the end of the riding, ready for her rider to dismount.

We’ve been having some rainy weather lately. When Sunday turned out to be a gorgeous day, everyone headed outside to enjoy it. Autumn is in full color around the homestead. I knew I had to shoot Rachel against the backdrop of reds, oranges, and yellows.

And what a willing model she is! She sees the camera aimed at her and she immediately poses. A photographer couldn’t ask for a cuter model! :D
