On Saturday June 3rd, Joshua had his very first horse riding lesson! He was fearless and looked like he was born to ride! Here is a short video clip of his first lesson riding Cajun. Ann-Marie was teaching him to keep his heels down, toes up and how to stop a horse. Joshua got the “whoa” down fabulously!

Taken Saturday while we were at the barn. It seems every year, her hair gets more red and her eyes more blue. I guess that’s what happens when you combine a healthy dose of Scottish on my husband’s side and a strong influence of Irish from both my husband’s AND my side. :)

This is Cajun, a back line dun Welsh/Quarter Horse. He’s a sweetheart at the barn. He’s only 3 years old but he is just as gentle as can be with the kids, including my own. Kayla and Rachel both rode him yesterday. And even Joshua had his first ever riding lesson yesterday on Cajun!

He’s for sale… maybe if we get a house with some land, we’ll buy him. Kayla is already plotting how to make him a part of our family and do some Pony Club show jumping on him! :D
