Marian Hossa is the answer to 3rd grade math problem (Photo)

A third grade student in the Chicago suburbs used Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa's name as the answer to a math problem on one of her tests.

Maggie Ciara, a student at Columbus Manor Elementary School in Oak Lawn, Illinois, wrote down "Hossa" as the answer to "9 x 9" on her math test.

Her teacher initially returned the paper with a red circle around Hossa's name asking "What is this?" However, she was clearly satisfied with Maggie's explanation, as she gave her a perfect score on her math test.

The precedent has now been set, boys and girls. Marian Hossa is now an acceptable answer for "9 times 9". Remember that for the next quiz.

In a recent interview with Buffalo NBC TV affiliate WGRZ, Bills running back C.J. Spiller delivered his detailed analysis of the kids television show "Spongebob Squarepants".

Among Spiller's deep thoughts about the show, he views Spongebob as "the team player", while wondering how Patrick Star doesn't suffocate while sleeping under a rock.

Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade is one of Gatorade's professional athlete endorsers. Apparently one of the perks of being a Gatorade sponsor, besides being paid to be in their commercials, is having a fully stocked Gatorade refrigerator in your house.

Based on the photo, that's about 400 bottles of Gatorade right there. That's a lot of Gatorade. Hope everybody there is brushing their teeth.

Ndamukong Suh rides Zamboni, holds octopus at Red Wings game (Video)

Detroit Lions defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh showed his support for the Red Wings during Thursday night's playoff game at the Joe Louis Arena. Suh wore a Red Wings jersey and rode on the Zamboni at the Joe Louis Arena during the second intermission, waving a towel as the crowd chanted his name.

Suh also learned about the Legend of the Octopus first hand, as he took a picture with the octopus that was thrown onto the ice.

NHL referee curses out John Tortorella (Video)

An NHL referee cursed out New York Rangers coach John Tortorella during the third period of Thursday night's Game 4 against the Boston Bruins.

Tortorella expressed his unhappiness when he felt the officials were slow to blow the whistle as goalie Henrik Lundquist appeared to have control of the puck with just under three minutes left in the third period. However, after Tortorella appeared to drop a few F-bombs, one of the referees had heard enough and dropped one of his own. Unfortuantely, the referee's F-bomb was picked up loud and clear by NBC Sports microphones.

WARNING: NSFW language. Definitely not for the kids.

We expect this from Tortorella, but to hear a referee tossing around this kind of language is completely unexpected. We couldn't tell which referee said it, but something tells us that the NHL won't be too happy to hear it.

Royals fan runs onto field, brilliantly avoids cop while stealing rosin bag (Video)

A Kansas City Royals fan ran onto the field at Kauffman Stadium during Thursday night's game and made a brilliant move to avoid a cop while stealing the rosin bag at the pitcher's mound before finally being tackled and handcuffed.

It happened in the bottom of the eighth inning as Angels pitcher Michael Kohn was preparing to deliver an 0-2 pitch to Royals batter Alcides Escobar. The fan ran out towards the pitcher's mound and was chased by a lone cop. To avoid the cop, the fan made a sudden change in direction by sliding on the grass around the edge of the mound. The cop ran across the mound and when he tried to adjust his direction, he tripped and did a near faceplant on the mound. The fan then picked up the rosin bag and ran away, but eventually more security guards were able to catch up to him. Royals fans loved it, and Kohn especially got a good chuckle out of it.

Tuukka Rask trips himself up, giving Carl Hagelin easy goal (Video)

Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask gave up an easy goal in the second period of Thursday night's Game 4 against the New York Rangers when he tripped himself up and couldn't recover in time to stop Carl Hagelin's backhand shot on the net.

Bruins defender Johnny Boychuk deflected Hagelin's shot and really slowed it down, while Rask was positioning himself for a quick slapshot. When Rask tried to adjust for the change in puck speed, he tripped and fell on his butt, leaving him helpless as he watched the puck trickle by him and into the net to cut the Bruins lead in the game to 2-1.

The goal ended up being a critical one, as the Rangers tied the game in the third period and won the game in overtime to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Brandon Inge skates around Pirates clubhouse dressed as Mario Lemieux (Video)

Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Brandon Inge showed his support for the local NHL team by getting dressed as Penguins legend Mario Lemieux and skating around the Pirates clubhouse during a Thursday rain delay at PNC Park.

Inge dressed in a full hockey uniform with a Lemieux jersey and roller blades for skates, then set up a goal in the middle of the Pirates locker room. Inge displayed some versatility as he skated around with a stick and street hockey ball, although after taking a shot to the face from teammate Neil Walker, something tells us he'll stick with baseball for now.

Nate McLouth nearly hit by flying bottle of beer (GIF)

A classless fan at Thursday night's Toronto Blue Jays game threw a bottle of beer from one of the upper decks at the Rogers Centre onto the field, narrowly missing Baltimore Orioles left fielder Nate McLouth.

McLouth had just caught a fly ball at the warning track and was about to throw the ball back in when the bottle landed on the field no more than 3 feet from him. McLouth was very fortunate that he wasn't hit.

We hope the perpetrator was not only tossed out of the stadium, but thrown in jail for this despicable display of inexcusable behavior.

Orioles wear 'Canadian tuxedos' on trip to Toronto (Photo)

The Baltimore Orioles traveled to Toronto early Thursday morning for a four-game series with the Blue Jays. To get themselves ready for the trip north of the border, the Orioles got dressed in blue jeans and denim, and outfielder Adam Jones was kind enough to post a photo of himself and his teammates wearing their "Canadian tuxedos".

Soccer player knocked over, kicked by three opponents (Video)

We don't have background information on this video, but it's obvious that a player in a green uniform takes a beating in this sequence. After he gets taken down by a player in red and falls on top of the ball, the player in red gets back up and starts kicking him, then two of his teammates join in. Finally the referee blows the whistle and takes the player in green out of his misery, but no word if any of the players in red were penalized.

Giants fan holding toddler catches foul ball with bare hand (Video)

A San Francisco Giants fan caught a foul ball with his bare hand, while holding his young son, during the ninth inning of Wednesday's game at AT&T Park.

The fan was standing in the aisle with a toddler sitting in his left arm as Giants infielder Brandon Crawford fouled a 1-2 pitch into the stands behind third base. The fan was able to grab the foul ball with his right hand while protecting the toddler. Give that fan a contract.

Double high-stick in Rangers-Bruins Game 3, with no penalty called (Video)

A weird play took place in the third period of Tuesday night's Game 3 between the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins when two high sticks occurred simultaneously, but neither one of them was called a penalty.

Rangers defenseman Steve Eminger lost control of his stick as he tried to tap it away from Bruins center Tyler Seguin as he skated into the Rangers zone. At the same time, Seguin tried to shoot it through Eminger and left winger Chris Krieder, who came back to help. The end result was a double high-stick, with Eminger hitting Seguin in the face and Seguin hitting Krieder in the face. Play was stopped as Krieder and Seguin needed time to recover, but both players appeared to be OK.

You would think at least one of them would have been called a penalty. Terrible job by the officials. How do they miss that?

Thai Premeire League soccer player sent off for celebrating with shorts on his head (Video)

A Thai Premiere League soccer player may need to tone down his goal celebrations after going way over the top during a game last week.

After Muangthong United midfielder Mario Gjurovski scored the team's second goal against TOT Sport Club, he stripped off his shorts and put them on his head, then turned his hands into guns and pretended to shoot at the crowd.

Gjurovski received a yellow card for the excessive display, which was his second yellow card of the game, so he was sent off. Gjurovski put his shorts back on, but only pulled them up to his knees as he walked off the pitch.

It would seem that Gjurovski had plenty of time to think about it, as if he knew that what he was about to do was a bit excessive and might be a bad idea, but he went through with it anyway. Maybe next time he'll act like he's scored a goal before.

Manny Ramirez 'moonwalks' in Taiwan after losing balance at plate (Video)

Manny Ramirez had another hilarious moment during a baseball game in Taiwan over the weekend when he threw himself so off-balance after taking a big swing on a foul ball that he ended up backpedaling to prevent himself from falling. By the time he finally regained his bearings, Ramirez had walked backwards at least 20 feet from home plate.

A nightly news program in Taiwan found the Ramirez "moonwalk" hysterical, and even spliced in footage of the famous Michael Jackson moonwalk from the "Billie Jean" performance at the Motown 25 television special as a basis of comparison.

Just "Manny being Manny" once again.

Giants fans dress in pea pod outfits to support "Killer P's" (Video)

A group of four San Francisco Giants fans came to AT&T Park for Monday night's game dressed in pea pod outfits to support the "Killer P's": Buster Posey, Pablo Sandoval, Hunter Pence and Angel Pagan.

The names and numbers of the players sewn into the back of the costumes, and one of them held a "Killer P's" sign with the faces of the four players.

The "Killer P" fans must have went home really happy as all of the players performed well. Posey, Sandoval and Pagan all went 2 for 5, while Pence went 1 for 3 with 2 walks, in an 8-0 Giants victory over the Washington Nationals.

A Pittsburgh Pirates fan named Bobby Zappala jumped off a boat into the Allegheny River fully clothed to grab a home run ball hit out of PNC Park by third baseman Pedro Alvarez during last Friday night's game.

The 2-run HR by Alvarez tied the Houston Astros at 4-4 in the bottom of the eighth, and the Pirates won the game in the bottom of the ninth.

Wife throws beer in husband's face after he spills hers protecting her from HR ball (Video)

A Chicago Cubs fan in the left field bleachers at Sunday's game at Wrigley Field tried to be a gentleman and protect his wife from a home run ball, but ended up getting doused with her full cup of beer.

It happened in the bottom of the fifth inning as Cubs pitcher Travis Wood homered to left field. The man tried to protect his wife from getting hit by the ball, but accidentally spilled his beer on her. As the man tried to see where the ball went, his wife "thanked" him by pouring her beer on his head.

Fortunately, both of them were laughing about him afterwards. There's certainly no disputing that the man's wife got her payback.

Diamondbacks catcher and pitcher combine for circus catch (Video)

Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero and pitcher Josh Collmenter combined for an impressive circus catch on a popup in the eighth inning of Sunday night's game at Marlin Park.

Miami Marlins batter Adeiny Hechavarria tried to bunt the ball, but popped it up down the third base line. Montero chased it and failed to catch it, but was able to knock the ball up to Collmenter. Collmenter knocked it even higher in the air to himself while avoiding Montero before catching it with his bare right hand.

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III (a.k.a. RGIII) is getting married on July 6th to Rebecca Liddicoat, and they registered for their wedding gifts at Bed, Bath and Beyond. To RGIII's pleasant surprise, the happy couple has already received most of the gifts that they have registered for, thanks to some generous fans.

Saints DB Dion Turner breaks through metal barricade after softball catch in outfield (Video)

New Orleans Saints cornerback Dion Turner made a nice catch in the outfield, while holding into the ball after breaking through a metal barricade that served as the outfield wall, during the Ben Grubbs Foundation charity softball game recently held at Zephyr Field in Metairie, Louisiana.

Turner fell backwards did a reverse somersault after colliding with the barricade, but held onto the ball for the out and received an enthusiastic reaction from the crowd.

Dwyane Wade attends Miami high school senior prom (Video)

Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade spent Friday night at the senior prom of Archbishop Coleman Carroll High School in Miami.

Senior Nicole Muxo made a Youtube video inviting Wade to her prom, and also sent Wade a direct message on Twitter with the address just in case. Wade decided to take her up on it since the Heat have some down time while they wait for the Knicks-Pacers series to play out.

Wade posted some photos of himself with Nicole, her date and her best friends. A really nice gesture from Wade. We're going to take a wild guess and say that at some point during the prom, they played the "Harlem Shake".
