Padua is a very nice city just 30 kilometers from Venice and easy to be reached by several trains (travel about 40 minutes). Hisorical town with a very ancient university. One day visit must include Prato della Valle and St. Antony Church, Giotto’s masterpiece at the Cappella degli Scrovegni, a walk in the city centre with the university building (Bò), the beautiful squares (piazza delle Frutta, Erbe, Signori, San Nicolò, Cavour) and the main streets including the ancient Ghetto. This area you will find many nice restaurants. Also suggested a break in the fantastic Caffè Pedrocchi (also for lunch).

Just 100 meters from water bus stop called “San Tomà”, directly on the Grand Canal, you will find the fantastic and charming tiny “campo” (square) of Venice front of San Tomà church. In the campo you can eat a pizza in the only restaurant with open air seats. So cosy and so beautiful you will come back the day after. After lunch a few steps to visit the close basilica dei Frari (Tiziano’s paintings) or the Scuola Grande di San Rocco (Tintoretto).

 Tadao Ando made a fantastic job and the Pinault collection is perfectly displayed in the ancient place where forigners traders used to declare their goods before storing or selling goods in Venice. Every thing is really modern but incredibly according to the building. The core is the big concrete box that Ando created in the middle of the available space.

The Pinault collection (over 3000 pieces) is rotating inside the two venician museums (with the same ticket you can visit also Palazzo Grassi museum). Don’t forget to walk outside around Punta della Dogana to have the gratest breathtaking view of Venezia.

 The tree and the light breeze (rio della frescada means “breeze canal”!) will complete this fantastic drink breake in Venice. Historic building: as proven by the epigraph above the entrance, the famous scholar and writer Gaspare Gozzi was born here in 1713. In 2009 the apartment was elegantly restored and completely renovated while the rest of the building bears witness to the passing of time.

There is also a double bedroom and a large second bedroom with a single bed and a bunk bed.
