- Donation: A motion was made that the Nor’Easters sponsor a memory brick for Catherine Dickerson (cost of the brick is $100.00). The brick is for a patio at Camp Sno Mo - Easter Seals. Catherine was one of the former New Hampshire Snowmobile Association Presidents. The motion was second and all were in favor. The memory brick will say: “Hollis Nor’Easters Snowmobile Club”.
- May 5, 2012 High School Scholarship - $1,000.00
- Lunch cost ($12.00 per person) for the five club delegates that are currently signed up to attend the May 5th NHSA Annual Meeting.

New Trail Signs - Enjoy The Trails? Join Our Club!
Our new multiuser “symbol” trail signs are ready and are now being placed throughout the trails.

Trail Update: Amos White, Dave Jennings
- All seasonal snowmobile signs are down.
- Trail on powerline leading to Foster Road and on to Route 13 is being rebuilt.
- GIA application will be submitted for Hayden Road trail work.
- Trail Maps – The Brookline Icebreakers would like to meet with us to discuss trail maps. At the meeting we will suggest the idea of a “regional” trail map.

County Meeting Update: Amos White

- Hand drawn club trail maps will no longer be accepted.
- Raffle Ticket Sales: 1000 tickets - $20.00 each – clubs will not be selling raffle tickets – all raffle tickets sales will now be handled through NHSA.
- House Bill 366
Concern: NH Senate Bill 366 allows sleds registered in Maine & Vermont to ride on their states registration in NH without their respective states honoring our NH registration. This bill has passed through the Senate; but we are hoping it will get defeated in the House. More information regarding House Bill 366 will be available at the next NHSA Directors meeting.
Update: 04/10/12 – An amendment was added to the bill and will be voted on at a later date.

Trevor Hardy brought in 3 groomer quotes for review:
- 2013 Bearcat Groomer - $12,610.00
- 2013 Bearcat Groomer, Gears & Used Drag - $17,800.00

If club decides to purchase a groomer, we will more than likely also buy a drag at the same time. To lock in the above prices, a $500.00 refundable deposit is required by 04/20/12 (the club will get paperwork from vendor stating the deposit is refundable). A decision will be made at the April 10th club meeting on whether or not we purchase one of the above listed Bearcats.
Please Note: If a GIA application is started in April, we probably will not know until August if we get GIA.

We received a nice “Thank You” letter from St. Joseph Hospital for the clubs “PINK RIDE” donation.

As of March 13th we have 366 members. Unfortunately, our membership is down substantially from last year.

A final mock-up of a new multiuser “symbol” trail sign was presented. A few suggestions were made (addition of club logo and wording stating “Your Membership Helps Build and Maintain Good Trails”) and the new multiuser “symbol” trail sign with club’s QR code was approved. Twelve signs (cost - $25.00 each) will be placed throughout the trails.

Trail Update: Amos White
- Trail Day planned to remove seasonal signs – Sunday, March 25th, 9:00am – 12:00pm – Meet at 9:00am at Silver Lake Parking Lot.
- Bridge Work – Approval was requested to start the needed bridge work repairs. All were in favor.
- GIA application will be submitted for Hayden Road – Monson trail work.
- Access to new trail loops in Hollis will be explored

Elections: Officers & Directors
- A motion was made to nominate & elect the current slate of club officers & directors. This motion was second and all were in favor.

PINK RIDE: Saturday, February 11th PINK RIDE fund raising event for St. Joseph Hospital Breast Care Center was a complete success. Although we had no snow to ride from Silver Lake to Chrysanthi’s Restaurant we still exceeded our $2,500.00 fund raising goal. After a short walk through the Silver Lake trails the PINK RIDERS & PINK RIDE SUPPORTERS drove to Chrysanthi’s Restaurant for a Nor’Easters/Wilton Lyndeboro Winter Wanders Club sponsored luncheon. Next seasons PINK RIDE date is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, February 9, 2013.

County Meeting Update: Amos White

- May reimburse clubs for ½ insurance costs.
- Future concerns: Funds from sled registrations may go into general account at State, Grant-In Aid may end & may end Bureau of Trails – need to express our concerns to our local Legislators (will get a legislator listing from NHSA).
- ATP Funds ($450K) taken away from snowmobiling.
- Tracked ATV’s – An additional endorsement of $20 will be charged to register an ATV with tracks to use in winter on trails.
- Minimum Snow for riding – Per Chris Gamache there is no minimum snow coverage needed for riding and clubs can groom when they want. Between Dec 15th and Jan 1st; the state will not reimburse for grooming if snowfall is less than 8 inches.

Many trail users (snowmobilers, mountain bikers, equestrians, hikers, etc.) have said “Thank You” to the Nor’Easters for the work the club has done on the trails.
Below are some ideas we discussed about club promotion:
- Add a line to our membership applications asking: How did you hear about our club?
- Preliminary work will start on new trail signs displaying the symbols for Mountain Bikers, Equestrians, Hikers & Snowmobilers.
- Submit more articles to the newspapers about the club events, community involvement and trail work.
- Tear off tabs for display boards with Nor’Easters club information
- Nor’Easters business cards which would include club information & a scanner bar code for smart phones – a QR Code Reader App would direct users to our web-site.

- NH State Trail Map – our trail is “Primary Trail 501”.

The club received approximately $1615.00 for 161.5 hours (hours were broken down by individual) worked by our club members at the Grass Drags.

The club received a nice “Thank You” letter from Dave Jennings thanking the club for the “Nick’s Ride” donation.

- A motion was made to donate $350.00 of profits from Safety Class to The Shepards Fund. The motion was second and all were in favor – Doug Cleveland will deliver the check. For newspaper club publicity, a picture will be taken when the club’s donation check is delivered.
- A motion was made to reimburse Doug Sattler $140.00. This is for the balance of the cost of the GPS software he had purchased last year. The motion was second and all were in favor.
- A reimbursement of $173.00 will be made to Doug Sattler for material purchased to build the new helmet & coat rack which was recently installed at Chrysanthi’s Restaurant in Brookline, NH.

- All trails are in good shape
- The Sno-Buds help was greatly appreciated at our Trail Days
- Let Amos White know of any trees that are down on trails and need clearing
- Mass line – Townsend – trails are not cleared
- Portable toilet is being delivered to Silver Lake Parking Lot on Friday (12/16/11)
- Todd from NH Fish & Game committed on the nice job the club does on grooming trails & also discussed ATV’s with tracks.
- Federal Hill – Snow Plowing will be taken down to the road due to logging operation.
- Stonehouse Trail will be our way to Lake Potanipo since the Austin Trail is closed
- Snowmobiling crossing signs at gas station in town have been submitted for a permit

Silver Lake Parking Lot Portable Toilet: At the October 11th club meeting a motion was made for a portable toilet to be placed at Silver Lake and all were in favor. A new motion was made tonight to order a handicap accessible size portable toilet (cost for this size portable toilet is approximately $100.00 per month) all were in favor.
The portable toilet will be placed on the Dunklee Pond side of the parking lot & will have a sign displaying “Provided by the Hollis Nor’Easters Snowmobile Club”.

Silver Lake Parking Lot Hollis Nor’Easters Announcement Display Board: The announcement display board should be up at Silver Lake right after Thanksgiving. The board will run parallel to Rt 122. Club events, information & announcements will be displayed on one side of the board & club sponsors will be displayed on the other side.

Trail Update - Storm Damage: Sherry Wyskiel, Trail Committee - Chair
The Town of Hollis Trails Committee greatly appreciates all the work that our club members & volunteers have done to clear the trails after the damage from last week’s storm (just a reminder – when pulling brush off the trails – please push the brush back at least 10 feet or more from the edge of the trail). Please note: Over the next two weeks (ending 11/22) – you can take fallen tree wood from the Hollis Town Forest trails.

- Gas Station trail to Town Forest & trail all the way to Chrysanthis Restaurant are cleared
- Working now on the Main Corridor
- Still lots of trail clearing to do before our riding season starts

- Discussion: Does the club want to purchase this groomer. The cost would be
- approximately $13,000.00 – there would be no trade and to hold this price;
the order to purchase would need to be placed by September 30th.

Another Groomer Option – 4 Wheeler Purchase
- Discussion: 4 Wheeler could be used for both grooming & trail work. The final cost to purchase would approximately be the same as Bearcat Groomer.
A motion was made to reserve $5,000.00 of club operating cash for a new groomer & in the spring the club would apply for Grant-in-Aid (state would do 60%). All were in favor.

Donations: A motion was made to consider the “Nick Jennings Memorial Fund” as one of the club’s annual donations. All were in favor

- Snowmobile crossing signs (we have the signs and they will be installed next season)
- 800 Skandic needs repairs. If the cost of repairs for the 800 Skandic are estimated to be over $1,000 Amos will call BOD to discuss – (Important Note: If we decided to sell the 800 Skandic instead of repairing; 60% would need to go back to the state). The club “out right owns” the 500 Skandic. It is in good shape and only routine maintenance is necessary.
-2010-2011 Scholarship Fund - $1,000.00
-Insurance – Approx $1,000.00
-Bridge Repairs (Lumber) – Approx $2,000.00
-Miscellaneous/Other expenses - $1,000.00

Suggestion was made to establish a budget committee and set up a capital improvement fund within the club budget. Trevor will work with Doug Cleveland to gather past treasurer reporting information to begin formulating a future club budget.

Membership Update: Doug Cleveland

Our membership goal for this past season was: 550 Members

-As of March 8th we have 604 club members (Please note: Family memberships are counted as two). Due mostly to this years snow conditions; most NH snowmobile clubs memberships have been up by about 1/3. This year, due to our current membership totals we will be able to send 7 club delegates and 7 alternates to NHSA’s annual meeting in Freedom, NH on Saturday, May 21, 2011. If you are interested in going to the annual meeting as a club delegate or alternate please contact us at hollisnoreasters@bentleymngegroup.com.

We would like to say “Thank You” to all the Hollis Nor’Easters’ club supporters – RJ’s Motor Sports in Nashua, Hollis Pharmacy in Hollis, Souhegan Valley Motorsports in Milford & most importantly all our families & friends that have helped us achieve and exceed this seasons membership goals! Map Advertising: Doug Sattler

-The club has received a few requests from businesses to advertise on our trail map. The current cost to advertise on our trail map is $150 per spot and our current trail map size is 11 by 17.
-Doug Sattler is looking into expanding our current trail map size to 17 by 22; which would mean commercial printing of our maps (a quote from Kinko’s came in at $1100 for 1000 maps).
-We would need to sell 7 advertising spots on our “Regional” trail map to cover these printing costs.
-Doug Sattler will check with a few other printing vendors regarding price & lead time.
-All were in favor of Doug Sattler continuing to move forward.

Trail Conditions/Improvements: Amos White

Trail Condition, information, potential future bridge repair/trail work & safety equipment
- Trails will be closed to snowmobiling and gates will be locked on Wednesday, March 9, 2011
- Route 13 crossing is still not an official crossing; this years temporary crossing worked out wonderfully
- Important information regarding “State of NH Tracked ATV Discussion” is attached to the bottom of these minutes.
County Meeting:
- Although fees to register a snowmobile went up this year, money for those fees eventually gets back to the clubs.
- July 1, 2011 – Submersion damage caused to grooming equipment that have fallen through ice will not be covered under new insurance policy
- NHSA Annual Meeting is May 21, 2011 in Freedom, NH
- Pat’s Peak Ride is April 2, 2011
- NHSA membership is up by 1/3 this year
- Officers & Directors insurance is now available to clubs – approx $150 per year
- County meetings are held on the last Monday of each month

Club Donations: - A motion was made to donate $250.00 to the police department & $250.00 to the fire department. Doug Sattler & Doug Cleveland will deliver these donation checks to the police & fire department. It was agreed, a picture for future club publicity will be taken at the time the checks are delivered.
The motion was seconded and all were in favor.

Member Reimbursements: - Two motions were made:
First motion was made to reimburse Dave Jennings, Tim Martineau, Trevor Hardy & Amos White $300.00 each for money they have individually spent on gas, oil, belts & repairs for trail equipment.
Second motion was made to reimburse Doug Sattler $225.00 for the money he has spent on map software (this reimbursement is approximately ½ of the original cost of the software purchase).

Old Business:

Doug McCosh – GPS Trailmasters: Track Logs/Partnership Idea
Due to time constraints; Doug McCosh broke down his proposal as follows:
- 1. Garmin GPS compatible, electronic version of our paper trail map
- 2. Product purchase discounts can be offered to our club members
- 3. Doug would donate two products of a $60 value to the club to use to raffle off as a fundraiser
Doug McCosh feels his product will have a better chance of taking off if we combine with neighboring clubs

Comments: Doug Sattler commented that a regional map would work much better and as a club we need to discuss Doug McCosh’s partnership idea proposal further.

Trail Conditions/Improvements: Amos White

Trail Condition, information, potential future bridge repair/trail work & safety equipment
- Trails are in great shape. So far this season our Groomers have put in the following amount of hours:
January 2011 – 156 Hours & February – 90 Hours as of 02/08/11.
Amos has applied to the state for an additional 100 hours.

- Resulting from recent concerns from our multi trail users - new trail signage was discussed and a new trail sign was suggested:
“Caution – Multi Use Trails”
Doug Sattler will give the final approval on this new trail sign.

Web-Site Updates:
Since we have had so many club events & rides; recently, our club members have been requesting that our club pictures, information, events, etc be updated more frequently on our web-site. Joe Vallier and Sue Keough will work together too expedite this request.

Event Updates:

Lone Pine Hunters Club Winter Carnival: Saturday, February 19th
- Nor’easters will have an indoor table displaying club information
- There will be snowmobile rides, an ice staking rink, food for sale, a bond fire, an ATV track, snowman building contest, tubing, snow shoeing and lots of other outdoor activities for kids and families.
- Need sleds, cabooses, helmets, & volunteers to work events.

**Volunteer Meeting – Saturday, February 12th from 9:00am – 11:00am at **Lone Pine Hunters Club in Hollis.

New Business:
Club Press: Need to work on more avenues of getting more press out about our club.

- Discussion of Melendy Pond Crossing – Bridge Closed

- Looking to get a temporary crossing near the bridge

- Waiting to hear back from NH DOT (If the state does not ok this temporary crossing near the bridge, we cannot have it there).

- We are talking to the Brookline Club about this matter and will wait to see what happens at the Brookline Club meeting.

- Suggestion was made to ride to Chrysanthi Restaurant in Brookline for one of our monthly club meetings. Arrangements would be made ahead of time with the restaurant to accommodate our meeting forum.

Trail Condition, information, potential future bridge repair/trail work & safety equipment

- Trails are in good shape.

- Amos does not see a lot of erosion from the mountain bikers.

- Grooming hours were increased by 25 this year

- We may loose a part of corridor 13 going north; we need to cut another trail to bypass.

- Lone Pine Trail – There are a couple of areas left to do before the Winter Carnival on Feb 19^th. The loop is done and in good shape – 6 or 7 feet wide.

- “Trail Maintained by Nor’Easters” sign by gate at Silver Lake – Amos & Trevor will work on this sign.

Conservation Report:

- Discussion of 4 places where Boy Scout Bridges could be re-built on the Lone Pine Trail

- Meeting is set-up on Nov 13^th at 8:00am with conservation commission to walk the entire trail

- Dave J. mentioned that there could be a possibility of re-routing the trail to avoid the bridges

- Doug, Dave and Amos will walk the trail before the Nov 13^th conservation commission meeting to see if the trail can be re-routed.

County Meeting Notes:

- Looking to see if clubs are in favor of Officers & Directors Insurance. The

annual cost of the insurance for the clubs would be approximately $200.00

- You can ride into Vermont for no cost on 01/21, 01/22 & 01/23. You will

need to have with you proof of insurance and your sled registration on those days.

Summer Grant in Aid Application Update: NH Grant in Aid check was received for the
amount of $3,851.84 and is included in this month’ s “ Receipts” total. In the past we
received 75 though we have requested more. This year we requested 300 and hope to
receive at least 150. This year we will be expanding our grooming area into Mason.
Bill Payment Submittal: Two bills were submitted for bill payment:
1 . Bentley Management Group - $3,800.00 – Rebuilding of trails – Birch Hill,
gas station, four corner area of town forest. Bridge widen on trail to Wheeler
Road & rebuild (2) bridges over Flint Brook & trails from the bridges to
Rideout Road.
2 . Bentley Management Group - $148.57- Supplies for our Old Home Day float.

A motion was made to except these 2 bills. All were in favor to except & pay the bills.

Our membership goal for this season is: 550 Members

-We already have 67 members signed up this season; this has doubled from last year.
-Sherry Wyskiel dropped off 9 new memberships from HAE.
-Mention was made to contact the Pepperell Horse Owners Association regarding
joining our club membership & Sherry Wyskiel will put a letter in the paper.
-Scot Pettengill discussed approaching members from other clubs (mountain bikers)
that use the trails and invite them to attend one of our monthly meetings or ask them for
an invitation to one of their meetings so we could inform them of our trail work & trail
maintenance programs. Ultimately, it would be great to get a few members from other
clubs that use the “ Trail System” signed up as our club members.

- Vendors advertising on Nor’ Easter’ s Trail Map: We can fit approximately
12 business card size vendor logos on our trail map. The club will charge
$150.00 for each logo and also provide a link from our web-site to their site.
- Web-site Trail Map: Heather Bowman will look into having a smaller (non-
printable) trail map on our web-site; but if clicked-on would direct you to
where you could purchase our trail maps.

- Wilton & Mason access in great shape; trails are all wood chipped into
Corridor 13.
- Working on rebuilding the railroad bed in Brookline
- Flint Brook Bridge – Everyone is enjoying this rebuilt bridge/trail
- Problem spot: Trail to Austin Trail could be a very sensitive area
- (Post signs “Sensitive Area”, “Be courteous to land owners”, etc.)
- Railroad bed to Brookline – Trestle is opened up

Trail Map Update:
- Show railroad bed in Mason
- Make town names bolder and more distinguishable on map
- Vendors requesting logos to be displayed on Nor’Easter’s Trail Map

– Sherry Wyskiel is currently addressing an equestrian’s concern about 4 Wheelers and dirt bikes riding through Birch Hill, Town Forest and Parker Pond.

Special Concern: Woodmont Orchards:

As a club we need to be a voice in meetings concerning Woodmont Orchards; especially when discussions involve trail restrictions and trail access.

Discussion Topics:

Scholarship: $1000 Budget

Applicants completed applications must be received by May 1, 2010.

**As of April 13^th; One application has been received by the club***

(Scholarship applications can be found under the “Form” tab on the Home Page of our web – site @ www.noreasters.org.

The Scholarship Committee is authorized to:

1. Determine the number and amount of individual scholarships, subject to the $1,000 budget approved by the Membership, and

2. Determine the scholarship awardees by majority vote of the Committee.

The decisions of the Committee are final and not subject to ratification by the Membership.

Conditions: Trails are snow covered hard packed. Sunny areas - No Snow.
Problem: Kids have been riding after mid-night on daylight only trails. To help solve the problem; reflective trail signs stating - day light only – time restrictive trails - were ordered for the trails.
Grant & Aid Application: Amos White submitted a grant & aid application to the state for $1,877.00. Once money is received from the state; Amos proposed to the club that $1,500.00 be set aside for next years bridge repair/trail work.

$1,500.00 from the funds received from grant & aid will be set aside for next years bridge repair/trail work was brought to motion by Spencer Stickney and 2nd by Trevor Hardy. All were in favor.

Trails are in good condition, with special thanks to Amos White and everyone who participated in all of the Trails Days - “Bring on the Snow”. Trails have been groomed up to corridor 13. Also bridge was widened on the new trail to Brookline between Hayden Road and the cell tower road. Milford side of Mason Trail is tough.

Maps have been locked down for 2009/2010 season. Maps for 2010/2011 will be modified as trails are updated.

Doug Cleveland suggested trail conditions be posted on Web site. Suggestions were

Doug Cleveland brought to our attention that we have donated in the past to the Lone Pine Hunters Club to help with expenses for the use of their clubhouse. It was suggested that we continue to donate a monthly sum of $35.00.

Discussion:

Fire Department requested trail intersection numbering for emergency and safety purposes.
Amos White and Doug Sattler are working together to number intersections and coordinate the numbering system with the trails map. Should be completed by Thanksgiving.

Nor’Easters Constitution and By-Laws:

Proposed changes are as follows:

Article 3A- Membership
Any responsible person eighteen (18) years of age or over having interest in snowmobiling may apply for membership to the Nor’Easters.
All Officers and Directors shall be members of the Nor’Easters.

Article 4L-Government
All election of Officers and Directors shall be by secret ballot, unless uncontested.

Article 5F-Meetings
Robert’s Rules Newly Revised Edition of Parlialmentary Law will be used as a guideline when not in conflict with the Constitution and By-Laws.

Article 6E-Dues
Dues shall be an amount voted by the membership, and membership shall include members and their children.

Article 8D-Duties
Change reference to Article IV, D to Article IV, J.

At last June’s meeting Newt Coryell proposed that these changes be made to the Constitution and By-Laws and be put to a vote at the September 8, 2009 meeting.
Doug Cleveland motioned for a vote to approve the changes and Marty McLaughlin seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved.

Tyler Booth sent the Club a Thank-you for his Scholarship.

Discussion of present and upcoming cash needs:
- Dave Jennings - reimburse for gas use in sleds for grooming
- NHSA Membership Dues - $1,390.00
- $1,000.00 needed for scholarship fund
- Insurance premium coming due in September
- Voted to keep a minimum balance of $1,000.00 in checking account for emergencies and club functions

Membership Update: Jeanne Cleveland
Currently, we have three hundred twenty three (323) members so far this year.
Due to good trail and riding conditions membership is rising.
PAST YEARS STATISTICS:
2006 - 198 members
2007 - 85 members
2008 - 280 members

GPS Trial Maps: Doug Sattler, Tim Martineau
Most trails in Hollis and Brookline have been mapped. “Looks Great! Nice Job! Very Cool!”
Track log collection continues. Goal is to have “Transparent map of trails”.

Consolidation of Records: Amos White
All files are in good shape. Club files are located at Amos White’s office.

“Special thanks to everyone who worked on the trials to clean up after the ice storm”
The major trails in town are clean and in good shape. We have received numerous comments from the Snow Buds, residents, etc. complimenting the club for the excellent condition of our trails.

Discussion:
Future projects to be determined if we get landowners permission. Possible projects include: by-pass for Mill Road; powerline from Hildreth Conservation Land to Hayden Road to existing trail from Monson to Brookline; Wheeler Road to Lavoie’s.
