Sarah Palin Abused Her Power in Firing Commissioner

A report out of Alaska regarding Trooper Gate concluded that Sarah Palin abused her power as Governor, but did nothing unlawful or unethical. In my opinion if Sarah used her power to fire a commissioner who wouldn’t fire a state trooper who was guilty of committing crimes, and tasering his 10 year-old stop son (child abuse), then Sarah did the right thing, no matter what the report says. I support what Sarah did. When there is police corruption, and the good old boys are protecting each other, despite criminal activity and child abuse, someone needs to stand up to them, and Sarah did. Fox News reports:

Sarah Palin "abused her power" as governor in the disciplinary case against a state trooper, according to a legislative panel’s report released Friday, though it also found that her firing of a state commissioner was "proper and lawful."

The ethics inquiry, which Palin’s supporters have called politically motivated, found that a family grudge was a factor in Palin’s dismissal of Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan — but not the sole factor. The report says Palin failed to keep her husband from meddling in the discipline of the state trooper, her brother-in-law, following a contentious divorce.

The panel of state lawmakers released its report Friday after spending more than six hours in a closed-door session reviewing the findings. At the heart of the investigation was the question of whether Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, had pressured Monegan to fire Trooper Mike Wooten.

Palin has said Monegan was fired as part of a legitimate budget dispute.

Investigator Stephen Branchflower, who drafted the bipartisan panel’s report, found Palin in violation of a state ethics law that prohibits public officials from using their office for personal gain.

"Today’s report showed that the governor acted within her proper and lawful authority in the reassignment of Walt Monegan," Meg Stapleton, a spokeswoman for the McCain-Palin campaign, said in a written statement.

Stapleton added that the panel’s report shows that the inquiry was partisan and that Palin and her husband, Todd Palin, were "completely justified in their concern regarding Trooper Wooten, given his violent and rogue behavior."

Monegan, meanwhile, said he felt "vindicated."

"It sounds like they’ve validated my belief and opinions," he said. "And that tells me I’m not totally out in left field."

The nearly 300-page report does not recommend sanctions or a criminal investigation.

The investigation revealed that Todd Palin has extraordinary access to the governor’s office and her closest advisers. He used that access to try to get trooper Wooten fired, the report found.

Branchflower said Sarah Palin violated a statute of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act.

Palin and John McCain’s supporters had hoped the inquiry’s finding would be delayed until after the presidential election, in which they face an uphill battle against Barack Obama and Joe Biden. But the panel of lawmakers voted to release the report, although not without dissension.

"I think there are some problems in this report," said Republican state Sen. Gary Stevens, a member of the panel. "I would encourage people to be very cautious, to look at this with a jaundiced eye."

Palin defended herself Saturday when asked by a reporter if she abused her power, saying:

"No, and if you read the report, you’ll see that there was nothing unlawful or unethical about replacing a cabinet member," she said as she left a hotel in Pittsburgh. "You got to read the report, sir."

Jose Canseco Detained for Steroid Possession

Jose Canseco was detained at the U.S. and Mexico border for alleged possession of steroids, according to KLAC-AM. Canseco was allegedly found to have HCG (Human chorionic gonadotropin) in his possession.

Sylvestor Stallone has predicted HCG will become legal in ten years, and has announced publicly he uses HCG.

HCG can be used to build muscle, and heal tissue, but also restores and reverses the shrinkage of testicles after the use of other steroids.

Canseco, an immigrant from Cuba, is the author of several books on the use of steroids in baseball. He will be arraigned in Federal Court on Tuesday.

Robyn on Madonna Scandal

"Seeing that a lot has been reported about my experience of being on tour with Madonna in the press, I feel like I have to tell it like it is! So with my own words, here I go:

I got a chance to go on tour with Madonna in Europe and like any one who’s been a fan of her since the age of ten I was super exited. Contrary to what you might have read elsewhere its been FUN! I’ve played to Madonna’s audience in eleven different cities, all of which have received us well even though I was only the opening act. Me and my band got to know Madonna’s production team and they were very helpful. Madonna’s management was super cool and we hung out with the band and dancers and had a lot of fun with them. When I met her at the end of the tour she was really cool and natural. I got a chance to thank her for putting me on and she even told me she was a fan! It was a very special moment i will never forget.

When I arrived on the first day of the tour I was surprised by the tight security that involved us as well. It took a couple of days to find my place on this big adventure but the tour has been a once in a lifetime experience. I have gotten the rare opportunity to see an enormous production from the inside and get the chance to perform in front of tens of thousands of people at every show.

In one interview I was asked if I wanted a career like Madonnas and I said no, my worst nightmare would be trying to be a Madonna. She’s an icon and a pioneer, but only Madonna can be Madonna. It would be sad to try to copy her model. Times are different nowadays as well. Even if I tried, it would be hard to build what she has achieved in the climate of the music industry today. I want to be me and work from my own small independent record company.

I want to be left alone in my creative process. I imagine she has lots and lots of people telling her things. Every one watches her every move. Obviously she can cope with that, but for me that pressure would be a burden. Too many other people have cracked under much less pressure in the music world and as a woman it’s even harder to stay at the top. The peer pressure, fashion mags and media celebrate youth, beauty and the new in females and most people are lucky to stay around for 5 years. I learned that next to the president of the United States of America, Madonna must be the most famous person on earth whose every little move is watched by millions and a complete security state is surrounding her!

I´m from a little country called Sweden where even though a lot of people know me here, I still can go to the store and buy milk in my underwear. And I would love to keep that for me.

But who am I to judge her? Watching her on stage during the tour I could tell that she was really enjoying herself. She is probably doing exactly what she wants to do and that´s why she is so inspiring. I want to be like that as well, I want to be myself."

Zac Efron wants to take over for Daniel Radcliffe in Equus, and she his clothes like Daniel did. I guess Zac hopes he’ll be able to generate the same buzz as Daniel did. The Sun reports:

Zac Efron let slip at the London premiere of High School Musical 3, saying: "You know that Daniel Radcliffe role on Broadway, well it’s been mentioned.”

He is clearly hoping to shed his wholesome image, having just finished shooting period drama Me and Orson Welles alongside Claire Danes.

He said: ’’I would love to just sit down and talk with Leonardo Dicaprio and Johnny Depp, and pick their brains about their early careers. They do it because they love it, not because they enjoy being famous. You have to have good foresight and be really careful. If you don’t adapt and learn at a very young age, you can really mess up."

Just because all the gays love Zac he somehow thinks he’s in the same league as Leonardo Dicaprio and Johnny Depp. He seems delusional to me, but who knows. He is finding more adult work, unlike Lindsay Lohan.

If Zac really wants his penis to make him more famous he should try leaking a picture of himself without clothes on, like someone did for his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens.

Britney Spears is doing a documentary called For The Record, that will air on MTV on November 30, just two days before the release of her new album. In the video she says:

I’m hoping Britney will explain her psychiatric lockdown, and psychiatric drugs, the conservatorship, and her psycho behavior during the past couple of years as well. What I really want to know is: Which psychiatric drugs is she taking that are making her so normal right now, and can it be given to all the nuts in America?

SCARY!!! This sounds exactly how German youth responded to Adolph Hitler. History repeats itself. By the time Hitler seized power, it was too late for Germany, and the Nazi victims. It took a World War to stop Hitler. Could the world have stopped Hitler if he had been the leader of the United States of America? Evil comes in the name of change.

Fox News Goes After Jim Cramer

Fox Business Network just put out an ad going after the track record of Jim Cramer. The ad is so true, except I agree with Cramer about keeping investments out of the stock market for the next several years. Cramer said keep money out of the market for five years, and I think it is more like three years.

I traded stocks for years, and I’m watching the last support level on the Dow Jones today, which could signal a much bigger drop if it is breached today or next week. Everyone wants the market bottom to come soon, but it only proves how little those who trade stocks, and analyze them really know. The last support level for the Dow Jones is 7,592, which ocurred on July 1, 2002. If the Dow Jones breaks that level it could go below 4,000. The 1929 stock market drop took 3 years to hit bottom, and that was with no government intervention.

Besides the credit crisis, lack of credit, and mortgage meltdown caused by bad loans given to those that couldn’t afford those mortgages, Barack Hussein Obama has said he will eliminate capital gain tax breaks due to expire soon. The capital gain tax breaks were implemented by George W. Bush, and were put in place to encourage people to buy long term stocks with little or no capital gains tax if they sold those stocks after holding them for at least 12 months. Those tax breaks helped the Dow Jones reach a record high during Bush’s term. Obama said he will eliminate those tax breaks, which has most certainly encouraged an even bigger sell off, since the polls show Obama could be elected.

Although the 1929 stock market took 3 years to hit bottom, that process could occur much faster today because of the volume, and ease of stock trading in today’s stock market. The negative effects of the stock market crash will take some time to be felt, and our government is hoping their trillion dollar package will help ease the pain, but eventually that money has to be paid for, so the pain will still be felt by latter generations.

Paul McCartney Upset McDonald’s Used His Picture to Attract Customers

Paul McCartney, who has been a vegetarian for 30 years, was extremely upset after he learned staff at a McDonald’s put up his pictures to attract customers. Paul’s portrait appears alongside bandmate John Lennon and fellow vegans Ringo Starr and the late George Harrison at a Liverpool branch.

Sir Paul’s spokesman Geoff Baker said:

“What sort of morons do McDonald’s think Beatles fans are?"

“It’s ridiculous and insulting to use images to peddle hamburgers. Fans should boycott McDonalds, and not just in Liverpool.”

A McDonald’s spokeswoman insisted the pictures were to “acknowledge the outstanding contribution the Beatles made to both local and global culture.”

Now that McDonald’s knows Paul doesn’t agree with his image being used in the stores, they should take the pictures down, and put up someone that better reflects the image of a burger eater like Kirstie Alley in my opinion. Although I have no idea if Alley eats burgers.

Gerard Butler Investigated for Assault

A paparazzo filed a police report with the LAPD alleging Gerard Butler punched him in the face several times early Tuesday morning. The Los Angeles Police Department said they will contact Butler to investigate the allegation.

Independent reports said the paparazzo followed Butler in a car after Butler left a bar in Los Angeles.
