2ndSteps2Success - Music Artist Conan

2014-02-24T15:51:00.001-05:00

For Immediate Release:

2ndStep2Success

Raymond “Conan” Ramirez, Puerto Rican rapper born and raised in the “Boogie Down” Bronx during a time when Hip Hop was at its most influential peek. “Lil Ray” developed a passion for music early after watching his father “Shampoo” hype man and road manager for Main One the Ghetto Child and performing on stage with his mother “Spanish Fly”, who was the lead MC in an all-ladies rap group.
He understood quickly that everyone has a story and his strongest method of speaking was behind the pen. He felt that with his rhymes, he could tell his story and people would relate. Between his mother and father’s high-profile industry connections, Conan was blessed to be raised around many staples in the industry, such as Big Pun, Fat Joe, NORE, NAS, all the way down to Def Jam Vice President Yvette Davila and Senior Vice President of Def Jam Sean “Pecas.”

While actively training with the Morris Park Boxing Club, Conan created rap duo Illest Spitters with best friend Young Cor. They released a mix tape hosted by Hip Hop legend; Kid Capri called The Youngest in Charge. After multiple showcases and numerous rap battles, Young Cor decided to Pursue other endeavors which forced Conan to produce a solo career as a talent. His first solo project titled “The New Beginning” is the journey of Conan’s transition into a solo artist, marketing guru, as well as businessman. Conan was fortunate to learn the business aspect of the game through his father’s marketing and promotion company YNVS Marketing and Promotions.

The buzz created from this album as well as memorable performances resulted in high-profile interviews, appearances, and collaborations. In the summer of 2013, rapper NORE gave Conan an opportunity to open up for him and his group The Good Belt Gang on their 15 city Coast to Coast Mix-Tape tour. While on tour, NORE was sold on Conan’s energy and delivery on stage. After seeing how actively the crowd was engaged, he immediately nicknamed Conan “The Energy God.” After learning what life was like on tour as a talent, Conan took the business route and helped launch a thriving 2013 facebook game; “Play-GigIt.” This Promotion included a 35-day tour including high-profile rappers such as Lil Wayne, 2chainz all the way down to local artists and entrepreneurs.

In between tour life, Conan managed to attend College at Borough of Manhattan Community, work full time all while writing, performing and growing as an artist. His second solo project, “Second Step to Success”, is the story of the maturation Conan projects in his new lyrics. Between his witty Freestyles, universal flow and flawless delivery, Conan explains how to achieve success in this industry while never being classified as “the average rapper.”

DIRTY DIANA :

WHOSE DIRTY DIANA BESIDES THE NEW MUSIC GOLD MINE

BY: GENEVA RELF

Geneva: Thank again for agreeing to this interview, How are you doing by the way?

Dirty Diana:I'm doing great thank you for the opportunity and exposure

Geneva: Now not like it's needed by refresh and introduce yourself to the new upcoming fans of your music!

Dirty Diana: My name is Dirty Diana from Bronx New York currently in ATL. I have a mixtape hosted by DJ scream on datpiff and livemixtape im currently working on some major features for my next project and working to get everyone familiar with who I am

Geneva: Your music video for "What Up Doe" your showcasing skills many haven't seen in this industry for awhile. Is that what gives you an edge in this music game?

Dirty Diana:My what up doe video is taking it back to hip hop when all the legends use to tell stories in there videos. It gives me an edge along with many different styles I posses in my music.

Geneva: Now on a deep level being a young female now on the scene, what has been the greatest test for you thus far?

Dirty Diana: When being in a studio with a whole bunch of male mc's and they ask "yo you want to hop on this track" lol not only do you have to show you nice but I have to make sure I body them on the track as well. :.)( shout out to all female rappers going hard )

Geneva: Many artist hate being compared, but how would you describe yourself and what sets you apart?

Dirty Diana: I would describe myself as not trying to be like anyone or copying anyone's style being myself is what makes me real and my lyrical content is what makes people respect me as a down to earth rapper.

Geneva: Your mixtape "Dirty Diana" hosted by DJ Scream (HoodRich) what was your concept if not motivation for this work of musical art?

Dirty Diana: The concept of the Dirty Diana Mixtape was to introduce who's dirty diana to the world, proving not only that I can rap but that I would be ever to stand alone against the many other rappers in this industry

Geneva: I understand you were at this years BET Award show, what was that like for you?

Dirty Diana: It was a great experience it gave me a visual of how my life would be like and made me realize how closer to my dreams I'm getting. I hope next year to be on that stage with all the other talented rappers that was there.

Geneva: Now I'm loving your style, are their any trends you follow or your own trendsetter?

Dirty Diana: Thank you, I consider myself a Trendsetter, I'm currently trying to come up with unique hair styles, clothing, shoes and accessories to help brand my name and continue with the hot trends of today.

Geneva: Collaborations I have got to ask any artist out there you want to mix it up with in the studio?

Dirty Diana: Well I currently have some surprise features on the next project but if I had a choice I would love to work with Jay z, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz and Big Sean.

Geneva: What's the next level what can we look forward to music wise or even appearance wise?

Professional Skateboarder Darren Harper : Gives back HOPE

2012-08-18T13:16:00.001-04:00

DARREN HARPER

SKATEBOARDING ON A MISSION

WRITTEN BY: GENEVA RELF

“It’s not where you're from, but where you’re headed” or “Your past doesn't predestine your future you do!”

These are just a few timeless quotes that are proven true to professional skateboarder Darren Harper. When it comes to highlighting those in the celebrity limelight that are giving back we often forget to appreciate the struggle it took behind their efforts! Darren Harper is not only closing the gap in a sport dominated by the stigma we don’t belong, but he’s giving an outlet to those who didn’t know life provides other options outside of conflict and struggle! Recently Darren Harper graced Providence,Rhode Island with a skateboard camp, and the cost absolutely free! The first camp was in Washington, D.C. he’s gained many names thanks to his fans "Floyd Mayweather of skateboarding" or “Obama of skateboarding” Darren’s goal is to promote his success through skateboarding. He understands that not every youth has a basketball hero, or musical aspirations but just needs a positive outlet to remind them anything is possible regardless of your environment! For most inner-city urban youth drugs, gangs, guns, and crime come with the sun rising, however Darren Harper is shedding light on paths outside of cultural stigmas.

Skateboarding in many respects wasn’t considered an “Afro-American” sport just the concept of a board on wheels, has captured many, exposing a world many didn’t realize was explorable. Furthermore Darren Harper doesn’t expect everyone to pick up a board, but he does want to open the door to dreams, hardworking ambition to be greater than expected! I recently interviewed Mr. Harper his back story alone should be inspirational from the drug game to skateboarding and giving back! Showing many that it’s not always how you start your journey, but how you choose to finish and be remembered! A free skateboarding camp might not produce the next level of skateboarders, or sponsored athletes. However it can produce a passion in new outlets for a young mind to obtain many dreams. It might produce a parents last hope to encourage their child away from a life of crime and countless struggle!

Also showcasing his entrepreneurial skills, the combination of Good Bully apparel and himself to create the next level of skateboarding apparel, accessories, boards and much more! Darren Harper has proven that success taste sweeter when it’s served with giving back as the main ingredient!

You can keep up with the latest of Darren Harper by following him on twitter @Dstreets and checkout GBSC for all your skateboarding needs! Darren Harper is closing the gap with education, boards, and purely motivation for the minds many overlook or have already counted out for the future! The media often times gets clouded with drama, but today as you read this remind yourself not every hero wears a cap. Not every youth deserves to have the book closed on them, furthermore you never know what’s possible when give HOPE back!

MEDIA MOGUL TAKEOVER WITH JEFFREY "JAZZY F." LEWIS

2012-06-25T17:54:00.001-04:00

MEDIA MOGUL TAKEOVER WITH Jeffrey "Jazzy F." Lewis
INTERVIEW WITH: GENEVA RELF

Geneva: First just let me say it's an honor, and privilege to interview you. How are you doing today?

Jazzy F.: I appreciate the love. It's the love like this that keeps me humble. I'm pretty good, a bit exhausted from working hard but maintaining.

Geneva: Well where to start with someone of your success. I guess asking, how does it feel to see your body of work all over? From Vibe magazine, Necole Bitchie, Hip Hop weekly among many more media outlets.

Jeffrey Lewis: It feels great! I never thought that I would see the day where y name would be spread all over the net like this. It started out as just a thought and becmae bigger than I ever imagined. The thing is, i'm still very much in the beginning stages of my career. To sum it all up, I'm blessed.

Geneva: You're a writer, blogger, promoter, PR. Is there anything you can't do or yet to explore?

Jeffrey Lewis: I never intended on having my hand in so many pots at one time. The thing is that it all goes hand and hand. I starting blogging and realized I need a publicist. Well after dealing with scam artist and publicist who didn't know what the hell they were doing. I decided to do my own PR. The day I started do that was the day my career took a turn for the better. I learned that I could do anything I put my mind to and focus on.

Geneva: Based off your personal experience, what has been the greatest achievement in lessons you've had to learn?

Jeffrey Lewis: Don't trust anyone and never let people short change you. In this business everyone wants to be apart of your movement, yet no one wants to put the proper work in. I just learned that I am my biggest support system. I also learned not to worry about the competition because there is none. I am my biggest competition because only myself can keep me from making progress.

Geneva: What's your next level of greatness in this demanding industry?

Jeffery Lewis: I'm currently working on a TV Show with DuBose Entertainment. I can't tell you too much right now but just know that this show will make history and create more jobs for young black people in our field.

Geneva: With media outlets, such as television, blogs, newspapers is there such a thing as going to far?

Jeffrey Lewis: In 2012 there is almost no such thing as going too far. People are going to the extreme to become famous and make money. I personally don't jude anyone who has, because we never know what someone's life is like that caused them to go through such extreme measures to make it.

Geneva: In your opinion, what is the biggest changes you've seen in media, and the way it's reported?

Jeffery Lewis: Honestly I never paid attention to people reporting styles. I started with y own style and I continue to stay true to it. I turn on the format of going by the book depending on what outlet I am writing for but for the most part I just do me and concentrate on that.

Geneva: Now I have to ask your advice, what are the biggest No No's for entering this industry?

Jeffery Lewis: In my opinion the biggest no no is trying to fit in. I noticed the people that made it weren't trying to fit in. They did their own thing and took risk instead of jumping on the bandwagons of others. I noticed the people that are constantly trying to fit into a group are the ones who are struggling the most.

Geneva: What was your biggest if not greatest, accomplishment thus far in this industry?

Jeffrey Lewis: My biggest and greatest was becoming apart of the DuBose Entertainment family. I remember a few years back I was watching Tiny And Toya which is produced by DuBose Entertainment and I said to myself, I am going to work with that company one day and now I am. I just thank James DuBose for having faith in me and seeing the passion that I have.

Geneva: Just in case there is someone you haven't reached, who do you aspire to work with next?

Jeffery Lewis: I would love to work with Big Tigger and Sway. They are two people in media that I have looked up to for many years. I want to work with everyone that is great. As most people know you are only as dope as the people you keep company with.

Geneva: Now this has to be acquired, you're normally asking all the questions. How does it feel to be on the other for a change?

Jeffery Lewis: It feels great! To have someone recognize your talent and accomplishments is a blessing. I have done a few interviews and I am starting to get use to it but I don't think I ever will.

Geneva: Well I guess all that's left to ask is what's next?

Jeffrey Lewis: What;s next is, itsOnlyENTETAINMENT.NET my new entertainment blog site, Digital Nework Authority (D.N.A.) my digital marketing promotion and PR company and of course the TV Show I mentioned.

Geneva: An honor, privilege, monumental opportunity for me, thanks again for this interview. Is there anything you would like to add before we go?

Jeffrey Lewis: I just want to tell everyone that is out there who have a dream they would like to see come to life to just keep pushing and never give up. You can achieve anything you put your mind to. Nothing is out of reach.

Geneva: Thanks again for this opportunity, and please let the people know where to stay current.

RAY NITTI PUTTING HIS CITY ON THE MAP

2012-06-14T12:10:00.001-04:00

RAY NITTI PUTTING HIS CITY ON DA MAP INTERVIEW WITH: GENEVA RELF

GENEVA: Good Morning, so glad you could fit this in your schedule. How are you today?

RAY NITTI: I'm fine, just blessed , humble and grateful for these opportunities the Lord has placed before me..

GENEVA: Now your from Virginia, but now living in Milwaukee. For the west coasters not familiar, can you please introduce yourself?

RAY NITTI: lol well I'm actually from the st. Thomas us virgin islands but many people thought I was from va because of the love that was shown to me out here. But I go by the name raynitti, I represent Milwaukee wi and anyone that has a dream. I wanna inspire others to believe in themselves no matter what obstacles come before them.

GENEVA: Now, your described as a versatile artist. Do think that's what gives you an edge when it comes to the industry?

RAY NITTI: I think what gives me an edge is the strong belief I have in NOT CHANGING WHO I AM FOR THE GAME BUT ONLY TRYING TO CHANGE THE GAME. We are in a industry now where they tell u that you have to look a certain way now or sound a certain way now. And I feel that is wrong. Good music is good music despite what a person may look like. So I'm just encouraging people to be there own brand. Why change to fit in to a game that's struggling in its self. Artist that changed for the game AIN'T SELLIG RECORDS NO MORE. Numbers don't lie. BE YOUR OWN BRAND

GENEVA: Victory Vodka just gotta ask how the name came about, and why vodka?

RAY NITTI: WELL A BLESSING CAME To me so I can have my own vodka brand and I made a small investment and it's doing very well. The name came about from me know the fact that everyone wants to WIN in life.. So I named it victory.. People drink to celebrate. So why not celebrate by drinking a brand that embodies the occasion.

GENEVA: What's next for you in this industry, where do you want music marked in your achievements?

RAY NITTI: I've still ur to put out my freshman album so I want to build a bigger buzz and this Sumer with my new single called "down" produced by biznessBoi from Milwaukee. I just wanna be able to say I got my city proper notice in this game. We are often overlooked. And I just wanna give the people hope.

GENEVA: Furthermore, curiosity who is Ray Nitti and what brought you to music, entertaining, the industry?

RAY NITTI: well I'm a humble individual that had a very rough upcoming. Lot of things I did in my past I chose not to glorify in my music. Mainly because I did things because I had a child to feed. I still had a great job but those bills was coming faster. After I got fired I started taking music 100 percent more serious. People always ask why did I leave the islands to come to Milwaukee. Well I grew up In a extremely abusive household and one morning I woke and saw something no child should ever see. My dad had my mom down on the kitchen floor with a knife to throat. And I feel if I didn't wake up at that moment my mother wouldn't be alive today. So he left the house and in the mist of all that my mom had a enough. She grabbed 1 garbage bag an packed me and my little sister up and borrowed sum money to buy some plane tickets and moved us to my older sister house who lived in Milwaukee. Only had the clothes on our backs. So this is why I'm grateful for what ever I have in life..

GENEVA: When the crowd hears "'BOW" and goes crazy, are you still surprised or shocked by your fans?

RAY NITTI: yes I'm always surprise because who woulda thought someone that went through everything I did would have these blessings. PRAYER AND HOPE GOT ME THROUGH

GENEVA: What's the craziest thing a fans has ever done or attempted to do for you?

RAY NITTI: LOL YO THIS WHITE GIRL ASKED ME FOR A HUG AND I SAID SURE. So as I was hugging her she says to me " I WANT A PART OF YOU FOREVER!! Lol and BIT THE SHIT OUTTA ME" lmao no lie. It was crazy I went off yo.. Lol

GENEVA: Now summer is here officially, any upcoming projects to get fans through the summer?

RAY NITTI: yep got a few MixTapeAlert I'm working on. And dropping the album hopefully

GENEVA: Now I understand your working in the studio as we speak. Any sneak peeks or previews for us coming up?

RAY NITTI: yea lot of stuff and new videos are on www.flyehiphop.com

GENEVA: Well fans better prepare themselves, thanks again for your time. Is there anything you would like add before we go?

RAY NITTI: I'm grateful for everyone that has ever helped or held me down. Without them I'm nothing. God has placed amazing people around me. Such as Ms Hollywood who is handling all my business currently. I ask a lot of her but she gets it done. Thanks for the chance to get my name out through your media

GENEVA: Also for your now added fan base, can you tell us where we can keep up with the latest?

RAY NITTI: @raynitti , www.flyehiphop.com

GENEVA: Thanks again it was a pleasure interviewing you today! Also for all the clubs, party starters, and vodka drinkers where can they find "Victory Vodka"?

RAY NITTI: right now it's only in the Midwest because of legal restraints.

Geneva: Well his music is everywhere, but for now if want Victory Vodka head to the Midwest.

ShaggFest Artist Spotlight

Ray Nitti

Where are you from/where do you live now?

Born in St. Thomas US Virgin Islands, but now live in Milwaukee, WI.

Musical Genre?

Rap/Hip Hop

How would you describe your sound?

Versatile. Not in a box..

Musical Influences?

Jay Z, Pac, Eminem, Benny D, Nelly, J. Cole and Drake.

Greatest accomplishment to date as an artist?

Gained national exposure for my small city Milwaukee who is often overlooked and not represented in the hip hop community.

If you could sign with any label, what would it be and why?

Had a major deal already and got out of it. I’m no longer interested in
signing with a major label but if I had to pick a label it will be under Konvict
or Bu Vision because of the homie Benny D who is currently Akon’s DJ. They make
hits..

Dream collaboration and why?

Jay Z , Drake & J. Cole. They are my favorite right now.

Where do see yourself in 5 years?

Five years from now I plan on being a force in the music industry. Still rapping
but also putting other artist from Milwaukee on.

Why did you want to be a part of ShaggFest?

Last year I missed the chance of being at this great event. This year I wanna
give Virginia a great show because they are a huge reason for my growth and
success. And what better platform to advance my career than sharing a stage with
a legend such as Timbaland. I’m truly humbled that Shaggy is having me . He
could have picked any artist to be a part but by God’s grace he chose me.

What are you most looking forward to about the experience?

GIVING VIRGINIA A SHOW THEY WILL REMEMBER …

Follow Ray Nitti on Twitter.

ShaggFest will take place June 9th at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex featuring Timbaland, Teddy Riley, Kirko Bangz, Dev and more. Tickets are available now!

2012-05-29T18:32:00.001-04:00

Watch "KALENNA featuring B SIMM - "PUT IT IN THE BAG" OFFICIAL VIDEO" on YouTube
Kalenna, formerly of Diddy Dirty Money, is following up the single & video for international hit "World Love" with the release of the "Put it in the Bag" music video featuring B. Simm from the Chamber of Diaries mixtape. The video directed by Eif Rivera (also directed "World Love") was shot in a luxurious mansion in Geneva, Switzerland. Kalenna's all black attire, statement jewels, with bold blonde hair and eye makeup is definitely a departure from her role as background to Diddy and a step towards her identity as a solo artist.

"Put it in the Bag" Official Videos

Kalenna is also nominated for a BET Award with Diddy Dirty Money for Best Group, tune in on July 1st at 8PM EST!!!
