Big news. Sincere thank you for all the help and protection to my family in spirit and education. Multumesc.

After almost ten years I am going to step off "by Matteo" production, feeling greatful and fulfilled in my professional experience. We've spent enough personal time together to know it is the right decision to redefine what means personal, professional on different calendars.

I am ready for silence, research and get an English app that would help me to not confuse any American office regarding my choice to continue my life in California. I am open for app suggestions made by Romanian translators, so I won't be too sharp because of my lack of voice practice.

I am mature enough to recognize my mental disorder, fragility, confusion, keep falling in love in different times. But, but, dar, si totusi iubirea, tot in California ma va retine, chiar daca va trebui sa-mi scuz labilitatea in mod sincer, precauta de la prima intalnire.

I look forward to those who were able to make it better a 2nd try or spend time in harmony even on a 3rd marriage. Life is difficult no matter your memory caries the same one over an entire life time or multiple, determined periods of time share. For sure I don't want to get confused whether I am or not divorced, worst, hit a respectful age and get confused in counting +/-/= marriages.

I know, it's been a while.

Thank you to all the wonderful people who followed my blog posts and make my work their experience.

A few years ago the director/ producer of the documentary Ten days with Art, Matteo Marchisano Adamo had to stop the post production editing process.

What is a film producer doing on that stand-by marking time passing, being unable to schedule the first screening, party celebration or be sure the film could go touring on festivals? We started raising funds on Indiegogo .

I have been lucky enough to meet in person Arthur Secunda, Sandra Secunda, Joseph Breton and later on during the production I discovered the rest of the distribution.

I had an inspirational walk with Sandra Secunda through the park and memories of her life nearby Arthur that made me ask Matteo if he thought of making a documentary on their life. Well, he did years ago. And before him others did it too but, special chance reasons determined Arthur to accept this time.

It is for sure the best documentary on art and for me the most enlightening experience as a producer.

I've left behind two very long years; feeling grateful at the end of 2015 for all the professional and personal accomplishments. More skills, more coffee, cookies, tea and . . . yes, more bills.

The last two years I've worked on two feature-length documentaries:

In Search of Balance - An exploration of a new paradigm of health, science, and medicine, based on the interconnections between us.

Arturo Secunda documentary is now in production.

Painter, sculptor, teacher, critic and printmaker, friends with James Baldwin and Henry Miller. He consulted for NASA, where he was an image-visualizer, helping to translate scientific data into visual images.

The creative idea is to bring live spoken words/ poetry/ short novels in fashion shows.

Poetry and fashion. It sounds like a new mix. Why not? I didn't do much research to see if this was done before. I am simply hoping to inspire fashion designers to attach actors to their shows, of course, me and Paul first of all.

And while he is improvising, I do the dishes. I wash those dishes, every day. I splash the water, I sweat and scrape those dishes, I didn't break any of them. I spin that brush on every plate! A soap tornado is blowing me up on the ceiling and spinning me back on every curve of porcelain bowls and every crystal glass. Rush hour. A drop of rain, a sun rise and millions of soap balloons.

I'm in my bubble. A silent one. And if I don't have a premiere, I imagine one.

This is a short film directed by Jake Cashill. I got the audition online and I felt that kind of luck at the second power that an east-european actress can have in Hollywood. Besides mail bride, vampire, spies and prostitutes, a new character fits the accent - soccer player! Goooaaal!

I personally think it's a brilliant idea and can't stop thanking you, Universe, Backstage, Jake, oh and I think it was full moon. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Come on, Hollywood, you can do it. Open the door, bring in the players and let the ball roll! One ball, one love. It doesn't have to be on steroids. It doesn't have to be on hunger, anger, or danger. Bring in all the accents, colors and shapes, no need for national competition. Make it a healthy game. "Mens sana in corpore sano" was written on the wall of the pool where my father used to take me when I was a kid. Keep pushing me on to another length, while he was smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer, watching me in a survival mode. "I can't do it, I can't do it anymore" - "Keep moving, keep moving" and keep pointing his finger on that wall - Mens Sana In Corpore Sano.

Or, as the director is saying - "for those people out there with kids, it's a great way for children to learn the Beautiful Game, as well as some fun new words along the way. Kinda keeps with the irony of the whole thing."

This is an image from the set of the last film I played in. I was a street girl. Somebody without family, a house, someone who's making a living in ways that others can only imagine.

Standing in an intersection with a cardboard sign that read "I have cancer" brought me $22 in less than an hour and it's number one on top of the "toughest experiences in my life." I could barely feel my knees and my back. They were melting minute by minute. I could feel fear and sorrow in the same time. And when the first window rolled down and someone gave me money, my brain was spinning in "this is not real! this is not real", but everything was more real than ever. The noise, the traffic, dust, sun heat, sad eyes turning away . . . terrific moment. Painful.

It is not the first time I stepped out in the street "in character", but the first time I had it easy - I was playing a pregnant woman and sometime I was going back home from the rehearsal without taking off my big belly costume. People on the street were smiling at me and, I received fruits and sweets and as soon as I was getting on the bus immediately someone was jumping to offer me a seat. At that time, freshly out of University, this was amazing for me. The story behind that big belly costume was a hardcore drama, but nobody knew that, because I wasn't holding a cardboard sign that read "I was raped by seven consecutive men during the war in Bosnia", nobody knew I was Dora from "Body of a Woman". On the street and in the bus, I was a young good looking pregnant woman, smiling, feeling amazed by people's reaction and satisfied that my costume looks so real.

When we shot "Martyr", part 3 from "The Unadventurous Life of Ai", because of material production reasons, again, I had to leave the house already dressed in character's costume - this time, a soldier who went AWAL. Oh, those days . . . I received so many greetings from so many men, always feeling that those guys did the army for real and suddenly I was one of them! From that moment, I promised myself to not do that ever again.

But, I simply can not say NO to a director, I can't do it.

So, I stopped promising things that I can not keep it. My closet is well organised in "costumes" and "street clothes", but if a production is going to ask me again to get on the street dressed in costume, this is it. Street business. Guerilla style. I am simply thankful for everything.

I live in a big city. I travel by bus and I love to look at people around me. When I'm in my husband's car, I'm watching people in their cars.

In my country I was also traveling by bus, by metro, and late in night by taxi.

I love ice cream, I love Pho, I love my friends, I love the sun, hiking, and the beach, I love biking and dancing, I sometimes love the ugly truth more than the beautiful lie and vice-versa. I love all types of music, I love cinema and I love acting, I love animals and children, and moreover I love to be inspired by them and by nature.

Mostly, I love walking.

I can't stay much in one place . . . I must have been a gypsy in another life.

No border life. Respect to all migrators.

I never understood this Santa Claus thing, plus in Romania he was called Mos Craciun and then Mos Gerila, then back to Mos Craciun, well, this Santa is pretty political, like everything else.

Regarding my own political view, I’ll probably never pass the level of a drunk citizen, who doesn’t know who she should vote for. I’ll be “beata” -> “be at a” . . . never know where, or “posedata” -> “pose data” . . . never know what pose at what data would be the best. Well, these are jokes I’m making for myself when I need a good laugh at myself.

(There is a Romanian play called “O scrisoare pierduta” / “A Lost Letter”, written by I.L.Caragiale, that should be translated and performed in all the languages because it’s so universal and international in its meaning regarding sex, politics, media and society.)

Back to my letter . . .

Dear Santa,

Since I was a kid and I realized you wear the same type of shoes and watch just like my neighbor, I got suspicious. Then when I found my own present hidden in a cabinet in our own house a few days before I should have received it, and a big silence was set on my mom’s lips because of my question “why is my present hidden there”? First, I said “kid's games”, but then I realized they were “people’s games”. Man! That’s so . . . don’t even know how to put it without being insulting, but it’s pretty uninspiring. I’m not going to mention the percentage of kids scared to death by that moment when they have to get in touch with “the mask”, because that’s what it is. I guess it’s part of our education. Will it ever changed? I could sound arrogant, but please understand, it’s coming from an actress' perspective who doesn’t really understand why people just don’t go up on a stage if they really need some show or some real “life at the second power”, as my teacher Ion Cojar called The Art of Acting. Finally, Augusto Boal broke all the borders possible and impossible and he was the one who inspired probably everybody, considering his theory of making theater possible anywhere and everywhere. Pretty honest. Pretty ugly and scary. Pretty attractive and pure adrenaline. I remember our teacher telling us that another great teacher, Anton Dumitriu, answered the question "Why did the old Greeks need theater?" saying "To make visible what was only intelligible" or something like that, can't remember exactly the words. I personally am a big fan of Peter Brook and his method of refreshing, conserving, keeping the "child" alive permanently.

So, I’m going to follow Hamlet’s way and before showing you the mirror I should be honest and set it straight to my face. (and I cleaned my mirror well. Announcement to those who’re breaking it . . . just get a new one. No fear, everything will be in it’s place. Mirror, it’s just a “mask game” good to be played. But please, clean it well, leave no spots, or . . .do whatever you like)

So, me -> you, dear nobody with extremely anarchic tendencies, mind your own business and take your time, because that’s how you find the infinite. Hm, sounds pretty philosophical, let’s take it simple as I am, a simple nobody. I, a simple nobody, I am unattractive, being honest, ugly by pointing out problems and stinky by keep trying to cleanse and take out whatever toxins I absorb like a sponge. Because that’s how I would define the nature of an actor - a sponge that’s going to absorb everything that he or she gets in contact. That’s one way to put it. I have so many ways, oh, it’s probably one of my favorite game of imagination to find analogies in defining the condition of an actor. One more important element from this simple nobody – the "actor" is a neutral gender, can’t be feminine or masculine. That’s why, being a shaved head it’s so . . . Me! Not to mention how much it helps and makes the work easier at playing the “mask game” As for me, the “wig game” is my new attraction ;)

Dear Santa, this nobody dreams of peace, harmony and communication taken to a different level, especially now that everybody speaks, learns fast and has access to translating everything in seconds. Amazing! I’m living in such an amazing time and I’m loving it!

Dear Santa, this nobody decided to want nothing this year. Nothing, but health, peace, legalized marijuana, legalized gay marriage, legalized everything, because only that will stop the illegality.

Dear Santa, there’s no need for two Jesus-es, or two Ghandis, or to John Lennons, or two Jeanne d’Arc-es, or two Simone de Beauvoirs, and so so many other philosophers, writers, fighters for changes. Nothing would have been changed without them. But from a different point of view, nothing is being changed ever. Dear Santa, you better turn around and take the Venus way. It’s the new way of living and thinking and rethinking society. It’s the Jacques Fresco way. Did you visit him Santa? Did you give him his present? He dedicated all his life, day by day, not just one day a year, but moment by moment ton keep dreaming, creating, inventing and speaking about a new society.

Dear Santa, I don’t want nothing but breathe in peace and breathe out love, breathe in love and breathe out peace, because everything I wish that you could bring me is too damn expensive! And I’m not ashamed to recognize I wish lust and lush, luxury and success, freedom to cross all the beautiful bridges of this beautiful planet, freedom to see this beautiful planet from a distance, from different planets. I dare to dream. I know, take care what you wish for. I do. I do care and I do dare.

So, dear Santa, take a turn and visit Jacque Fresco, you may like him as much as I do.

A Mask.

Or I could joke about it and say Pineapple Santa Head, or Merry Palmhead, or Arcimboldo like a friend said about it, or simply Nobody.

A Nobody

In between "what is" a person and "what she/he would like to be", in between "how is" and "how she/he could have been", there is a space that's hiding the richest teritory of a human being - the Imagination - the space of absolute freedom.

And with this new coming year, that’s not quite the end of the world again, I’ll change my ending from “much love and peace” to simply “peace”, because I barely deal with “much” (being a nobody satisfied with very small quantities) and with “love” (being a nobody who really suffers for those who legally cannot express their love). But I’m learning about peace and The Art of Peace and hope to keep it like this all my life.

Elena-Cristina was a very noisy baby. Her mom doesn't have photos with a baby smiling. Her mom didn't take a break for 5 months . . . She's still noisy, but in small portions, or CA King size, or mild, depending on the context given by what she eats, hormones, temperature, pms, the size of the moon and for sure, depending on what planets are crossing above her head.

Last time, Planet Diamond almost hit her. Elena-Cristina rapidly took the knife sharpener and smashed the planet into trillions of small diamonds. Oh, that short diamond' rain got all the men and women out naked, dancing wild, finally happy all together under the shiniest rain ever. The Milky Way itself was jealous, watching distant and cold, seeking Sun's reaction. Luckily, Sun didn't react. Just a short wink, enough to point out the most cinematic shadow' light, just to make it clear its signature over such a universal happening. People stayed out singing, dancing, making love, playing and everybody wanted nothing else but to enjoy the diamond' rain on the Sunset light. A diamond' peace era started. What comes around goes around, would you think? Well, what comes around sometime stays too long in one place and then goes around. Too long for who, Elena-Cristina was wondering with her eyes shut keep dreaming and wishing not to finish the beautiful dream. Could you call a dreamer being greedy for this? She opened her eyes, looked outside and, surprise, angels all over . . . White. It was snowing.

That's what snowflakes are for her - falling angels with no name. Fall angels, fall in peace and melt in the diamonds' glowing heat.

She shut her eyes again and, damn!, straight into the club. She was in the Air. Falling. Moment by moment. She could barely touch the ground from those musical vibrations. And those flashes of lights were taking her from a rainbow to another one, without knowing who's rainbows they were. She was falling like a snowflake, moment by moment, burning and glowing.

Le Coucou was playing.

She could recognize inside her uncles and aunts, cousins, lovers, parents, teachers, dogs and her most beloved cats, white tigers, all her friends from all over the world: Jesus, Monalisa, Dali, Madonna, Spiderman dancing with Marilyn Monroe and all the characters from Hollywood Boulevard playing, flying and glowing. Burning into those rainbows.

When you dream and cross the border into another dream, there is a danger, very attractive but still a dangerous connection between sound and taste. Le Coucou was deeply connected to the taste of her favorite white strawberry ice cream and it wasn't the first time her life was looping with a melody. Unable to deactivate the connection between those two elements, Le Coucou White Strawberry Ice Cream became a spiral that was dragging all the diamonds deep inside her head. Oh, what a headache! What a scream. Icecream!

She opened her eyes. Every memory has a nostalgia. Every dream or image brings the feelings and the representations of a near future. If you stop yourself at a specific limit, everything gets crystallized. So, not the spirit may be the substance, but the imagination.

Dream Punkarta was born in Hollywood and dissolved slowly, moment by moment, while the beautiful dreams went out of control, transformed into nightmares that she wouldn't share with anybody. The nightmares turned into fantasy dreams, where everything is possible and beyond ugly, beauty, light, dark, silence, noise, shape or shadows.

Dream Punkarta ended up by removing with her teeth her pink diamond polish nail, feeling the urge to scream the disconnection between a dream and reality.

Dream Punkarta found out that Planet Pluto is a pretty punky planet, so, for that, she decide to get herself a dog and call it Pluto. "Sit, Pluto. Sit! Behave"!!

Finally,who's the director of our own dreams? "Chaos is being yourself" said somebody and I believe that.

Inter – Te – National – Iubesc – ism

1st of December - Today is Great Union Day for Romania.

Am I a nationalist? No, but I was one, jumping and barking like a crazy-dog at all those who dared to say something negative about Romania.

Do I encourage or conserve nationalism? No. Moreover, I am against everything that takes the tail "ism" and presently I am educating myself to get rid of "judgmentalism." But I love my past and it makes me smile going back to those days when I was declaring that my country is the best place on this planet. Is it? No. It may be a special place on Earth, like so many other special places, but definitely a special place on my heart, special for all the love I've received and shared back, special for all the suffering that got me stronger. I left this place with love, beauty and peace in my heart and tried to share it everywhere I went.

I'm celebrating this day with this post, feeling inspired by Romanian articles full of love, and I'm shouting out te iubesc which means I love you, to all Romanians inside and outside the country, to all liberated travellers and artists spiritually free and disconnected by a specific territory - celebrate Romania - learn and say Te iubesc, share it. And if this is not the right time to travel,be curios about Romania and search online. Real or virtual, it'll be your personal Romanian trip.

Living the LA Myth

As I was walking down Los Feliz, crossing in front of Le Figaro Cafe, I heard a velvety voice saying "you have a wonderful head"! I turned towards the voice, being sure it was for me, and said "thank you". A lady, wonderfully lit by the sun, sitting at a table with a confident and positive attitude, elegantly dressed in black, smiled at me. She was wonderful, too.

I was so happy for the compliment little by little, as I was walking away, I wanted more and more to get back to her! But I was already in a book store, randomly opening photobooks, looking for that great feeling I have when I'm not looking for anything specific but I suddenly find inspiration in a wonderful photo full of story. I thought I needed to continue the feeling I had after the short interaction with the wonderful lady.

I was already bored when we got out of the store and the magical moment starts here.

A touch on my shoulder, I turned.

She was there.

I was so surprised, and she said "oh, sorry, I didn't mean to scare you", I said, "oh, no, you didn't". She said "I'm so happy to run into you because a friend of mine, a director, is looking for a shaved-headed actress and seeing you I thought I should ask you if you would like to meet the director." I said "wonderful! I'm an actress! I'll give you my business card", while she was looking to find and give me her business card. She exclaimed "oh, great! who could imagine such a meeting? The director will be very happy"! I said "Ok, I'll e-mail you"!

That's it, she was that angel you dream of, coming your way. Beautiful, surreal, simple, nothing spectacular, fast. Magic!

I did e-mail her, of course. It's been 3 days since then. I had to let my heart relax a little and chill down in order to be able to write about this wonderful moment. What else can be more magical in LA for an actor but to be stopped on a street by a manager/ journalist/ blogger/businesswoman and tell you that a director is looking for someone like you? To get a phone call from the director!! Well . . . if this is going to happen or not, that lady has a special place in my heart forever.

And I succeeded to keep myself from jumping in her arms telling her how much I love her, how special she is in my life and that I want to kiss her and hug her and have a lifelong relationship with her. I wanted to show her all my films and tell her crazy stories from my life, but I stopped myself from all of these, victoriously. It was very much like the Experimental video I did it last month. And it's not easy at all, trust me.

While "the editing department" for part 4. Karma from the film series "The Unadventurous Life of Ai" is free this weekend, I've spent some wonderful time online discovering new poetry and music.

Sekou Sundiata reading a poem at the 2006 Dodge Poetry Festival on YouTube. The next poem I found was called Come on and Bring on the Reparations. And the third one was Shout Out.

Later, I opened the book I'm reading these days, called "It's Not How Good You Are, It's How Good You Want To Be", by Paul Arden

I can remember very well this moment, the first day on the set of Part 1 - A Portrait Of The Unadventurous life Of Ai, the very first scene I shot with Matteo Marchisano-Adamo. It is minute 1:04, Interior Bathroom, opening the shower door, line "Which was not often in my point of view. . . but you can never trust the memory of a happy child," first half On Camera, second-half as Voice Over - off camera.

The frame below is Ai opening the shower door and making a comment on her mom's impression regarding her spoiled brat, meaning Ai, meaning me.

I had a cat, I called her Mi Mi Mi. Ai, never had pets. It was not in Ai's mom's culture, "people in houses; animals outside." I had so many animals when I was a child . . . I spent all my vacations in the mountain at my grandparents. They had a farm and they taught me to love animals and play with them. And there I enjoyed so many precious moments with my cousins, anxious and excited, for the cat's delivery. We were three kids and that cat was delivering in an intentional way, somehow, always three baby cats. That cat had the best life a cat can have in my imagination, but she was also such a loving lady-cat with us. It never happen one single summer for her to deliver 2 or 4 or 5 or 1 baby cat . . . always, for years and years, exactly 3! Those moments are on the list of Precious Moments of My Life.

Ai though, as a child, had so many wonderful dolls, around 20 or 40. She always preferred to play with her dolls more than with the other kids her age. Her dolls were simply silent and listening to her. She loved to put make-up on her dolls' eyes, to put polish their nails on their little doll fingernails to dress and then undress them all. One day she had a brilliant idea: to see what's hidden in their heads. Ai found nothing. That was a huge surprise for her. Empty. Her mom was shockingly surprised to enter Ai's room and find 40 doll heads on the floor and their bodies thrown on a box! Ai spent a lot of time trying to fix them all at her mom's request . . .

I'm playing with this character, Ai, since April 2011 when we started the production of part 1. I love her the most from all the characters I've played in movies. This production was my school in the cinema, being near by Matteo Marchisano-Adamo. Training, communication with the director and other actors, the entire set experience, this is all that matters for me as an actor. A long time ago, I heard that the real art of acting only exists in theater. Cinema is not the right context for the art of acting, it's just not happening there. I feel the art of acting can happen in a bus, the art of acting is also in politics, in churches, and as long as cinema exists, it can happen there also.
