Furnace Repair

Furnace repair, one morning I left to go to work, I knew it was supposed to snow, nearly blizzard conditions so I made sure to turn my thermostat up. When I came home from work that day, I noticed that my house was colder than usual. The Furnace seemed to be working, but I just could not figure out why it was so cold! I did not know much about these types of things; one thing I did know was that the blower motor could have maybe gone out or the igniter. So I immediately went online and started looking at reasonable prices for a technician to come out and look at it.

As I went on my hunt for reasonable companies, I came across a rather decent company that seemed to have a lot of experience, had been in business for a long time, had reasonable prices, Also, had top of the line equipment. They were very friendly and seemed to know what they were talking about. So I decided to schedule an appointment to have my furnace cleaned and repaired the following day, which was December 22,2010. While I was on the phone with them, they said that I could possibly need a whole new furnace!
After I scheduled my appointment, I looked online for new furnaces, and it came to my surprise that there were many different kinds of furnaces! So I thought to myself, ‘Oh, I’d better leave this for my technician to tell me more about it.’ So, I just went to bed that night with many blankets including one electric blanket, since it was too late for buying an electric fireplace or a space heater of some sort. Before I went to bed, I looked at my indoor thermometer and it read 51 degrees, I knew I was in for a rough night. My appointment time block was a 9am-1pm, so I set my alarm for 9am.

Hoping I only need to have my furnace repaired

I woke up the next morning, and sure enough, right at 9am the technicians were there to take a peek at my furnace, I had been expecting them to come later since I lived rather far from their location. After doing some heavy duty cleaning, and checking, they brought it to my attention that it was not broke, it was in fact the Blower Motor that had been backed up with a lot of dust and debris that had stopped it from working. They asked me how long it has been since I had a clean and check. I said it has been at least five years. The technician said that for not having it checked in five years, that was more than likely the cause of the buildup. I was very thankful that I did not need a whole new furnace system.

Buy Home Furnace

Only needed to have my furnace cleaned

Before the technicians left, they explained to me in high detail how it important it is to get your furnace cleaned and checked every year to two year tops to prevent incidents like this from happening, and so you won’t have to suffer for a night in the cold, and be left with a high bill of repairs or possibly have to buy home furnace. I definitely learned my lesson!

NOTE: The furnace repair story above was given to us by one of our employees.
A/C Cleaning & Maintenance

Air conditioning units are your best companions to beat the heat of summers. While you take all possible cares while you are planning and getting these installed in home a lot of people still don’t understand the importance of maintenance issue. Air conditioning units are heavy duty appliances that can’t be purchased every now and then and while you will like to have your unit last for long cleaning the air conditioner is a task that should be on your priority list of annual maintenance tasks. A properly maintained air conditioner can have a life span of even 15 years.

An air conditioner is composed of many components that include the supply and return ducts, compressor, condenser, filters, registers and cooling coil (a-coil). Cooling systems suck the air from the air indoors and cool it and then circulate it. If these parts are not cleaned properly on regular basis heaps of dust and dirt can accumulate on the air conditioner components creating many problems. Some of these are listed below:

Low Efficiency: Presence of dust and other contaminants decrease the efficiency of the system over the passage of time. These hinder the regulation of air flow and do not let the cooling system work in the way it should.

Higher Electricity Bills: A soaring energy bill may be an indication of the fact that the cooling system needs cleaning. Cooling coil inside the air conditioner is the dirtiest area and if it is not regularly cleaned it will consume huge amount of energy to cool the room at a temperature which needs not that much energy. It increases monthly electricity bills to an exorbitant amount.

System Failure: Research indicates that average air conditioner efficiency decreases about 5% every year and if not cleaned and maintained every year the system eventually crashes.

Health Hazards: Atmosphere inside a cooling system is highly favorable for growth of many microbes that cause many health issues including respiratory track diseases and allergies. The issue is of more important when you are living in a region with severe climatic conditions; if you are already suffering from some allergy and if you have pets at home as pet dander is also a pollutant found in the air conditioning units as air is circulated on constant basis while cooling system is on.

That is the reason why experts advise for cleaning air conditioning systems at least on annual basis. However, there are other considerations that should be accounted for while deciding whether you need and annual cleaning session or semi annual; few of them are listed below:

If you are living in an area which is hot and humid

If you are living in an area where construction is going on

If you have pets at home

If some of the family members is suffering from allergy or some respiratory disease

Cleaning your air conditioner on regular basis can save you not only money but also keeps you and your family safe. Here are two sites to visit to learn more about a/c cleaning: Search DuckDuckGo.com for 'Minneapolis Air Conditioner Cleaning' and 'St Paul A/C Cleaning'

Appliance Repair

Affordable appliances repair is located in bradenton, fl hello and welcome to our website for over 15 years, affordable appliance repair has served the manatee, sarasota and. Repair & Maintain Your Home's Appliances

Spring is Here - Time for Cleaning and Maintaining Your Home Applainces

People often forget about cleaning appliances like the back of the refrigerator, furnace, air conditioner and clothes dryer. Most of these (except the a/c) appliances have been working overtime all winter long, collecting dust and dirt in the cooling coils, ducts and vents. If it has been a while since you last cleaned them, with spring approaching, now might be a great time.

What components of my home appliances get dirty you ask?

Here is a list of a few places you might want to clean and inspect:

Refrigerator - Slide it away from the wall and clean the back of the coil. Also clean the drip tube located in the bottom of your fridge.

Furnace - Replace the filter and have a furnace cleaning company or an air duct cleaning service provider come out and do a thorough cleaning of the burners. Have them check the chimney and heat exchanger while they are out.

A/C - Sorry, this is best left to the pros. You can clean the leaves and junk from the outdoor condensor though. This will definitley help, but more importantly is to have the a-coil cleaned. This is inside your plenum which is above your furnace.

Air Vents - Also known as duct cleaning, this process will remove any of the pllutants which have collected over the winter; allergens (was anyone in your home sick?), dust, mold and anything else that might have been drawn into your heating and cooling system.

How To Recover From A Flooded Basement

For The Associated Press

4/26/2007 - Flooded basement?

Keep your head, even if your feet are under water. If you act sensibly, your flooded basement can be cleaned up, dried out and be ready for occupancy sooner than you think.

But bear in mind that while there are things you need to do immediately, drying out a basement properly will take time and patience. If you rush the job, you risk much bigger headaches.

Here’s your disaster repair plan:

...Drying things out too fast can cause them to crack and split. Your best bet is to rent a large dehumidifier to remove excess moisture.

Going slowly will also help prevent mildew. The worst thing that you can do is turn up the heat or use space heaters to dry the area. Doing so can create the perfect environment for mold and mildew to propagate.

¯ Often, a water heater, furnace, clothes washer, and dryer can be cleaned, repaired and restored to working condition. Some ducting, controllers or other mechanical components may require replacement. It is wise to consult with a heating contractor, plumber, and/or appliance repair person to make this determination...

Looking to Replace the Biggest Appliance in Your Home?

Wow! Makes sense. If you are going to spend a lot of money on a major appliance like a new HVAC install, you should really be blowing clean air through it instead of dirty air.
