Business Plan Should Show Action Beyond The Plan

Putting together a business plan can be a time-consuming effort in futility if you forget the main ingredient of the plan. Before any plan can be effective, it has to have the means of providing the execution to make the plan work. With prescribed actions to execute the steps in the business plan, all it will be is a list of hopes and dreams.

For example, a business plan may stipulate the company will sell a thousand widgets every day in order to bring in enough money to meet payroll and other expenses. It may even go so far as to project who will sell them but if the plan does not stipulate how they will be sold and, more importantly to whom, the plan is nothing more than a dream. Execution is the principal means behind any valued plan, detailing who will do what, when and how to allow the plan to be scripted completely.

On the other hand, any business can be planned to death. Meaning entirely too much time is spent on putting a plan on paper and never putting it into action. Even a great business plan is useless unless a timeline is attached to every step of the plan to put it into motion and follow through on making it work.

Another example is in assigning tasks to a group under the supervision of one person. By sitting down with that person and discussing the project, it can be agreed as to what tools will be needed to get the job done, how many people will be required to complete it in a specified time frame and at what cost. By enlisting the help of the individual in charge in putting the plan together, that person has a vested interest in making sure it is done on time and within budget.

Once the plan is on paper and put into action, there has to be a certain amount of follow-up to insure the project is going as planned and if any adjustments are needed they can be made before it is too late. After the first few days, the supervisor can be asked about the project and if everything looks good and they claim everything is going according to plan and is on schedule, it probably is. If they hedge about being able to get done on time and admit there have been underestimates made about how long it will take, they can have input on what else is needed to remain on schedule.

If the supervisor continues to express optimism of being able to get done on time and the owner sees that it is becoming more obvious it is not going to happen, they may need to reassess their choice of the person in charge and hold them accountable for not being on schedule. With their buy-in from the beginning as part of the planning stage and their help in determining what is needed, they cannot pass fault back to the business owner for not giving them what they need to get the job done. It would be their failure to execute the plan to make it work and they should be held responsible.

When you consider buying into a franchise the main ingredient that will insure your success is identifying and understanding your customer base. Most franchise businesses will offer realistic projections of potential customers, but there are some that present misleading information that may make the opportunity appear more destined for success than it can possibly achieve.

To better relate to the business and the potential for customers, relate it to many of the online dating services. Seriously, not that this is the suggested business, but it can give a better understanding about how to calculate the available customer base for nearly any type of business venture.

First, consider some of the largest services that claim they boast a membership base of 20 million, just for the sake of round numbers. Currently, most dating services boast about a 30 percent paid membership so that 20 million member list is cut down to six million paid members that you can contact or who can contact you.

Lets presume that half of these members are of the same sex as you are, dropping the potential members that would want to meet you to three million. Still, that seems like a large number of possibilities, provided you are willing to travel around the globe for a date. Since only about 40 percent of dating service members reside in the United States, that eliminates another 1.8 million members, leaving you with only 1.2 million members of the opposite sex spread out around the country.

If these 1.2 million members are evenly divided among the 50 states, that means there are 24,000 possible dates in your home state, provided that age means nothing to you. Their personal profiles will eliminate many more and how they perceive your profile will put many more out of the picture, and when considering how far you and they are willing to travel for a date, it is a very real possibility that out of that 20 million membership base, there are only a dozen or less potential dates living within 50 miles of your home town, makes the prospect of finding true romance more in perspective.

Before buying into the hype of a franchise business, you will want to completely analyze the size of your customer base to determine if it has the potential to create enough business to sustain your lifestyle. Consider the age and gender of the potential customers and compare it to the demographics of your town. You may find there is plenty of business to go around, or you may find you will be the only interested customer on the block.

Before you mortgage the homestead and sign the franchise lease is the time to conduct your research. Do not let buying a franchise be controlled by your desire to get into business for yourself. Make the decision based on the business that is the best for you to get into.

That detail is not nearly as important as actually being published. Making copies of the article available also lends credence to the claim of being an expert.

You make up the ad and pay to have it published. You have very little information about how effective the ad has been, but you paid for it just to get your name out. If you made one sale from an ad that cost a thousand dollars to post, this would in most cases be a dismal return for sure.

Affiliate marketing is essentially connecting with other online business owners and having them put your ad on their site. You do not have to pay unless your ad produces revenue. It is kind of like a "pay for performance" agreement. If the ad produces sales, you pay the site owner a percentage of the sale. If the ad does not produce any sales, you pay them nothing.

These other sites want to make money without having to warehouse merchandise or handle any of the shipping and payments. Their only work is putting your ad on their site and then promoting their site to get more visitors. The more sales they make for you, the more money they earn in commissions. The more advertising they do of their own site, the more visitors are sent your way to buy your products. This "pay for production" type of advertising, known as affiliate marketing, is one of the fastest growing methods of earning money on the internet and allows even small businesses to establish a large marketing network with a minimal budget.

Additionally, one of the algorithms search engines use is counting the number of quality links to your site from other sites. Every affiliate that posts your ad on their site is a link back to you and you do not have to trade links with them, making it more attractive to the search engines. This can also increase traffic directly to your site from search engine users.

Everything that you do in affiliate marketing will require this type of critical thinking and it would be impossible to go through the hundreds of different ways that this is already true of the field. Just remember to always re-evaluate the situation you are in and try to think critically about ways that you can make it better.

The internet is a place advertisers can bond with their customers. Online advertising allows the customer to search and find an item at their leisure; it really puts them in charge of when and where they would like to browse. For example, when a customer sees an e-mail with a subject she is interested in, she can read it now or keep it for later whenever she is ready or in the mood to read it. E-mail

E-mail is one of the primary reasons people are on the Internet. Friends send e-mails to each other with pictures and news, and it is certainly possible to become friends with your customers through e-mails. This is a small web site on a larger web site. This can be good for products that people eventually need but don't want to give a lot of thought to until the actual need arises; for example, self-help books. If a customer sees a small site about that topic every time he goes to his favorite internet book site, he is likely to remember it when he needs it, and go back and click on it. Instead of driving to a regular bookstore where he would have to stand there and look at all the rows of self-help books, he will remember the one from the micro site on the Internet and go there instead because of the sheer convenience factor.

Web site

A web site is an easy way to bond with your customer. Here you create the customer's experience by your use of color and other images that will appeal to your customer. Through a little research, you will know exactly who your customer is and you can design your web site accordingly by using images that appeal to your specific group of customers.

You will also be able track your customer's experience to make it better. You will know how many visited your web site, how long they stayed, what they spent the most time checking out. You can interact with them by having a customer service area or a suggestion box. In doing this, you are able to have the customer think of your product as a personality.

You can design your own web site, but there are many expert web designers. Consult one of them and then use your web site for a few days to work out all the kinks. Then let your website work to help you attract and bond with your customers.

These days, it seems like everyone wants to work

and the paperwork is done. But it happened.

I’m my own boss. I work from home according to my
