Oh, I've decided that even though my name is fairly common, I'm still going to try to get it to the top of Google. With all the race car drivers, football players, artists, professors and everything with the name David Pearson, it's going to be hard. So I decided to create a link site to link everything with my name on it together. If you've noticed, the title tag (not the name) of this site has changed from Home Business Beginner, to David Pearson Presents - Home Business Beginner. The link site is David Pearson Presents - Dave Pearson. I'm also linking to the Google searches for my name because I've heard that that helps with the Google rank.

I've been pretty busy for a little while. My main site - Pearson Connection - has undergone a complete overhaul. Some of my minor sites such as Free Business Tools and Robotic Leads, the lead generation site have been updated and attached to Pearson Connection.

Stay tuned, more new sites and forums are in the works.

I ran into a bit of a problem with the podcast. I recorded it in multiple sections, put it together and uploaded. When I listened to it, a couple of the sections ran together. Specifically, me and Pastor Fletcher Brothers. So I had to re-edit it and upload it again. I also uploaded a picture for the podcast. I didn't have a business picture, so I used scales.

Back to calling tonight after work. Ick. Oh well, must be done. Hopefully something will break soon.

Team Meeting

Work From Home

Man, I wish I worked from home full time. I would have time to fully optimize my Veretekk Lead Generation traffic portals, I could take as much time as I wanted calling prospects (it's my fantasy, and in my fantasy I'm not afraid of calling my mlm leads), and I could go golfing whenever I wanted to.

Ok, reality check. I work for the postal service, and have to fully plan out the time that I have so as not to waste it. And I'm afraid of the phone. Network marketing isn't easy. Working your home business isn't easy. However, nothing worth having is.

So, today I posted twice to this blog, 4 times to Build A Huge Downline, and once to another Veretekk person's blog. Here are my reasons for what would seem like a time waster. SEO. If you haven't noticed, I use the same key words all the time. That isn't because I can't write well, it's for the benefit of the search engine spiders. Plus, once a blog hit 100 posts it seems to jump in the search engines, along with anything linked to it. This blog will hit 100 posts after 50 days. I'm posting twice a day here. My downline blog gets 4 posts a day. I want that one to hit quicker. See I have that blog's rss feed plugged into some of my traffic portals. That way there is always fresh keyword rich content there. Once I hit 100 posts, I'll drop to 1 per day. Oh, and the other person's blog. A bunch of us were invited to post there. Obviously it was to drive up the number of posts, benefiting him, but because there are also over 400 posts, any post there that links to a site of mine, greatly benefits me.

Because of dinner with the family, there was no time for calling anyone else. However I'm going to continue to send out letters to my older premium leads. That should take a couple of days.

Today is my brother's birthday. He's the big 3-0. We're having a family party right during the time I would be calling prospects. I'm conflicted. I know I need to call, but I'm relieved I don't have to. Oh, well. More to be called tomorrow.

What I will be doing tonight is an episode of my podcast: The Home Business Beginner. Also, I'm going to try and finish my letters to my older Veretekk premium mlm leads.

Minor Success

Ok, today I made a few calls. Only one person was home, but she said she would check out the info.

So the rest of the night will be me sending out emails to the premium leads that I've had for a while, that I probably won't be calling anymore. A post or 2 to my other blog: Build A Huge Downline. I attended the weekly Veretekk conference and was told that once a blog reaches 100 posts it starts blowing away the search engines. I've started a companion podcast to this blog, but I don't think I'll be doing one tonight. I need to cut my hair (I'm bald, but I start to look a little fuzzy if I let it go more than 2 weeks). And if I have some time I might optimize a couple of Veretekk traffic portals so they start bringing in more premium mlm leads.

Be diligent in all you do, folks. As Yoda said "Do or do not, there is no try." Corny, but oddly appropriate. Take care.

Longer Mid Rang Goals

My longer mid range goals are these: Next Monday, the 13th, I'm going to send out letters and dvds to Pastors. I'm going to wait a week, and then on the 20th, I'm going to call them. This will give me 2 weeks to overcome my fear of the phones. See my last post for more info.

On each Monday for 4 weeks starting the 13th, I'm going to send out 25 dvd's each week. I've already ordered them. 50 cd's are coming also. They will be sent out the following 2 weeks.

After that, I'm going to target financial planners, like my upline is doing now. I'm doing the Pastors first because they seem more kindly. Yes that is a totally cowardly way of looking at things.

Short Term Productivity Goals

Ok, here's what I want to do in the short term. I need to get used to using the phone. I have to overcome my paralyzing fear of calling people. I understand nothing bad will happen even if someone is rude, but it doesn't change the fact that I have a problem with it.

In a recent Veretekk weekly conference, the moderator put out the question, "How many of you are making money with your home business". Out of about 100, 33 typed in y. When he asked the follow up question "How many of you call your leads", the same 33 typed in y. I think that says it all.

One reason I need to overcome my fear, is that I have some bigger plans where I need to use the phone. I'll touch on those in the longer range plans.

This week, I'm going to call every lead I get within24 hours. Ok, by the evening of the next day. I still have a job and can't get around that. Those are the only ones I'm going to call. Just the fresh leads.

The older leads are going to get an email today that doesn't come from Veretekk, but me personally. I'm going to go through and tell them what I do and how I do it. If they aren't interested, than so be it.

Oh, this morning I went out and posted fliers at bus stops and various apartment laundry rooms. I realize this is the type of thing I just do to fill time that would be better served calling leads.

This is the thing. Like I wrote in my other blog, Build A Huge Downline, I'm going to start really working my business. So says the Home Business Beginner.

Welcome, everyone. I plan on discussing my journey through the land of home business. I am truly a beginnner. However, I've alligned myself with several good companies. Please contact me about my main business. I have a nice secondary company that should be particularly good with the carnivores - Jerky Direct. And, I plan on generating leads for these business with the Veretekk Lead Generation System. In future posts I'll go through these in more detail.

Ok, one thing you need to know: I truly hate calling people. I'm going to have to overcome that. I mentioned in my other blog, Build A Huge Downline, that my goal for this week is to call every lead that I generate, within 24 hours, well, at least by the next evening.

So, come back and see whether I succeed or fail. I will put my failures in here, so be warned.
