Setting Up an Internet Cafe in Your Home With A Minimal Capital

Are you an OFW who will be finishing your work contract and will be returning home soon, a retrenched employee, a pensioner,or an entrepreneur who have save a small amount of money and would want to go into a small time business, putting up a small internet cafe in your home will be very ideal for your hard money if you have only a small budget.

This is only for a backyard internet cafe set up in the home, in your vacant lot, in your receiving room or in a vacant garage. You will save your money on renting space. But if you have a vacant lot in the province it will be a big advantage for you.

If you had a wide space for your internet cafe. I recommend 10 or more units of computer. It is because mostly gamers play in groups and they play LAN (local area network games) like DOTA in 5 vs. 5 players or 4 vs.4 set up.

How much will be the starting capital ? - Let us say for example with my own Internick Cafe?
The capital was : 80,000 (eighty thousand pesos ) for 8 computers, cheap? but I recommend more capital than that amount.
What are the computers I bought? They are surplus computers I bought from Openpinoy.com you will see if you go their site they sell good second hand computers with 30 days warranty, computer spare parts, as well as branded brand new computers.
The PC specification is Intel Pentium 4 2.4Ghz, 512MB video card of 128MB hard disk storage : 80G
If you want to save on electricity consumption, I recommend that you will buy an LCD monitor, open pinoy are selling them also. LCD flat monitor uses less electricity of course surplus ones cost less
You will have to purchase also a router ( 4 ports will do ) but I recommend an 8 port router D-link DI-604 was the easiest to set up so that you can share your internet connection.
A hub (network switch) with 8 ports will be an additional if your router has only 4 ports.
Purchase also LAN cable for your networking. I recommend the branded ones. This cable last longer and you will not have problems with your network disconnection.
One unit of printer if possible an All in One Printer ( meaning you can print, photocopy and scan)
A DVD writer - if you will offer CD burning services

8 units of PC or desktop computer - Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHZ or higher 1 GB memory Video Card 128Mb or higher 80GB of Hard Disk with USB ports in front ( if you are buying in package : keyboard and mouse are already included as freebies)
8 units of LCD flat monitor.Router

1 unit of An All in One Printer ( colored and black) recommended Canon or Epson
DVD writer - if you will be offering CD burning, an additional income
8 pieces of headsets
4 pieces of web cams
8 pieces of mouse pads

1 Electric fans
8 Chairs - recommend purchase durable mono block

Purchase a licensed Microsoft Home XP operating system - enable you to update and patch hot fixes.
Purchased a licensed Anti Virus Software such as ESET NOD 32 or you can start with free trial but they will expire in 30 days.
You can also purchased an Internet Cafe timer (optional), you will need 1 dedicated PC for this set up, ( 1 PC that will act as a server) it will automatically shut down your computer when the time is finished for the renter, that is the advantage but the disadvantage is you will be spending 1 computer for this purpose, an addition to your electric bill, in my internet cafe, I do it manually I just write in a piece of paper the time the user ends.
If you don't know how to install programs you better learn it early to save money on overhead expenses, because there are a lot of troubleshooting especially if your internet business had a lot of customers, and your knowledge in maintaining a computer will be a very valuable resources.

This list will be dependent on your customers preference, you have to uninstall some of this games when your customers are not using it to optimize your computer's memory efficiency.

Like every business, the site or location of your internet cafe business success depends also with location, you will be successful if your location is near the school, government, business offices and near the street where there are always human traffic.

Our residence is near two schools and my kids are also playing LAN games which our users are also playing. My kids are also DOTA fans and they have tournaments especially during weekends and these contribute to the success of bringing customers to our home internet cafe.

Show Email Post Link : Yes but its O.k if no.
Adult Content : No if for general visitors if yes visitors will be asked if they want to proceed

Show transliteration button for your post : yes if you want translation, no if you retain the use English

Internick Cafe, we are an internet cafe situated in a home, our vacant sala, we started last Sept. 2009 we are located in San Isidro, Tala Caloocan City. and have been almost 2 years in this internet cafe business. We have survived our small business going back to those days we remember when we set up our internet cafe, we thought that it will not last long that this would be just a temporary livelihood. But the internet cafe shop was a source of income. Not only that its a fountain of friendship, we have made a lot of friends locally and abroad in friendster later on with the latest and popular facebook, we enjoy our internet a lot, our broadband connection is supplied by SmartBro Plan 999, some said its a slow broadband but I was lucky I've got a stable connection with them. I have no big problems with Smartbro. I only have 9 units of Pentium 4 PC, one all in one Canon printer. Our computer rental is just 10.00/hour I think we are one of the cheapest internet rental be it an internet or playing LAN games.

I put up this blog to help others especially my kababayan Filipino or their relatives abroad who wants to set up an internet business that will help them to have a livelihood or an income. I tell you this business had been good to my family, maybe If you will land to my blog while you are browsing, searching for how your computer will help you earn money. This will be an inspiration for you to start. I hope that I can give you some tips,knowledge in my own little ways how to make computer or computers help you earn money

If you are a beginner just like me, we will start with free things and blogging is one of them. There are two platforms that are popular blogger and wordpress, and they are free. You can use your firefox browser to go to their website

I started this blog and in setting this up I just followed their directions. I don't know if I am doing it right so what, I believe that we will learn from our mistakes. I made 3 post regarding my internet cafe

So here are the few steps before making a blog.

1, You must have a particular topic, they called it a niche, start with that niche. Using Google Keyword tool search the keywords for example you want your blog to deal with making money on line type that words or phrase "making money on line" and it will give you different words or phrases, the number of searches made locally and worldwide, for this keywords. It will give you also the cost per click and other details, we focus only on keywords that are searched oftentimes at least 1,000 searches a day worldwide and the CPC (cost per click ) is high at least 4.00$. There is another tool that SEO (search engine optimization) practitioners are using that is the Micro niche finder. I have tried also using, this tool have the SOC(strength of competition) you will know how many are you competing in that niche. Though I have some issues using this tool, this tools will help you and your website get index by Google and guide you on what topics or categories you will be putting on your site that are at least are searched by our visitors.

2. Keywords are only the tip of the iceberg, if you want your site to be visited you must have original content. I also had experienced using tools to re write articles, there are tools in the internet, they are not free. You will have to spend money. I tried the Best Spinner. and I will blog about it in the next article what I had experienced using them but I tell you now you will not like the results. Writing in your own unique way is to me the best.

3.create an account in blogger.

4, Using your gathered keywords, select a name for your blog. Blogger will check the availability of this keywords. If your chosen keywords is not available try to put some dash or periods in your keywords. Fill in the word verification and hit continue.

5. You will be presented with templates choose the templates that you like.

6. Hit continue and your blog is now created.

7. Hit posting and you can now start posting your first page.

8. Or you will go to settings first. Make a description in your blogs use again the keywords you had gathered.

9. Don't forget to save your settings.

Paypal link to ATM, and how to lift the limit with out a credit card

Maybe you had experienced a problem of linking your new paypal account to our local bank and you had landed on our blog, when you are searching in the internet of how to link your paypal account to your chosen bank. in order for you to lift the limit amount when Paypal asked you for a credit card to assign but you don't have a credit card. So here are the easy steps my friends, because it happened to me when my sister send me money through Paypal. I had tried using my BDO debit card assuming that my ATM card had a Mastercard logo, that when I assigned it in my Paypal it was accepted but it took me 2 weeks of asking my son to passed the ATM card but still no funds appearing, only then I googled and found out in the internet that Union Bank have an EON card. Yes! my friends, if you are wondering how to lift the amount and assigned to withdraw from a local bank your Paypal funds,

(1.) go to any Union Bank. I am not connected to Union Bank. I am only a part time newbie VA. That is the first step open an EON account and the cost of opening is very cheap 350.00 (annual fee) it took me only 1 week to have an EON card after having the card.

(2.) I log in on my Paypal account and assign Union Bank as my local bank your EON card have a card no. in the upper corner while your account number is in the lower part of the EON card written in small number. I have also committed a mistake in assigning the bank account early that when paypal told me that there would be a deposit of 1 dollar

(3) This could be a warning - so deposit an amount 200.00 as a deposit for Paypal confirmation, no problem Paypal will return this to your account.

(4) I asked for union bank call center assistance, I'm happy that the agent give me the transaction code when I told her that I need the paypal code to be placed in the Paypal account in the computer.

That's it after 1 day the amount was transferred to my EON account and it is now automatically linked. but after 3 withdrawals my ATM I had a problem lately my account was hold. That will be in another post. So follow me. Thanks for coming by and I hope you will use your hard earned money wisely.
