• All of the custom cabinets were installed in the pantry, bedroom #1 and the master bedroom
• The slate back splash in the kitchen was completely installed
• The new half of the deck was painted
• And landscaping work was done, including grass and planting flowers

There’s still some work to be done, such as:

• The floor in bedroom #1 needs to be finished
• The hardwood floor in the house needs to be sanded and refinished
• The stainles steel appliances need to be installed in the kitchen
• And you need to call the Realtor so you can set up a time to visit the house =)

So the second week of the renovation project at 2266 Memorial Drive Atlanta, GA 30317 has come and gone. Since the last post, the rest of the back splash in the kitchen was installed. Also, a new drain pipe was added to the house.

On the first day of the third week of renovations, some custom finishing touches were added to the house. So far, the pantry has been outfited with new custom shelves and the Master Bedroom closet is getting prepared to be customized. The rest of the photos show the contractors and the material for this project.

A Quick Note

The Open House that was scheduled for Sunday, April 18, 2010 has been Postponed. Please stay tuned for details about the new date and time. (I’ll post them on this page as soon as they are available)

The fans on the porch have been changed, designer light fixtures have been installed in the master bedroom, and landscaping has begun. There are now new fixtures in the upstairs bathroom, and the back splash in the kitchen was installed. I overheard the two men working on it say it wasn’t just tile it was slate. They were putting in the good stuff!!!

I hope everyone also likes the extreme makeover of the blog. There’s more information available now: links to sites of neighborhood businesses, contact information for the listing realtor, and new ways to bookmark the site, among other things.

Ultimately, the intention of the site is to show you how far this project has come, so without further ado here’s the next installment…

The second week of renovations for this house is expected to be the last week of renovations, so there will be a lot going on at the house this week. Please Stay Tuned!

The pictures below show some of the changes that have been completed, or are underway, today.

• New decorative fixtures have been installed in the downstairs bathroom
• The stairs to the second floor are complete and beautiful!
• Fans have been installed in bedrooms #2 & 3
• A new glass shower door was installed in the master bathroom
• And last, but not least, the deck in the back of the house has been extended!!!

Add to those items, the work that was completed during the first seven days of construction, and the following:

• The new light fixtures that are going to be installed in the bathrooms
• The custom closets that will be installed in the bedrooms
• The custom seating and storage area that will be installed in the upstairs hallway
• The stainless steel appliances that will be added to the kitchen i.e. range and dishwasher
• Sanding and finishing the hardwood floors in the living and dining room
• Repairs to the floor in bedroom #2
• Installation of granite counter tops in all of the bathrooms

… and you’ve got yourself a Beautiful house and this house is already For Sale.

I know, I know… You don’t want to think about buying it until it’s complete and you can see the finished product. That’s okay, if you want to take the chance that the house won’t be for sale when you’re ready to buy.

Hello again,

It is now the end of the first week of renovations at the house for sale at 2266 Memorial Drive, Atlanta, Georgia 30317. Here are some more pictures of the awesome changes that are taking place, both inside and outside, the house.

If you’ve been following the these blog posts all along, you’ll notice the changes immediately. (Think stairs, fixtures and paint)

If you haven’t been looking at the pictures and videos all along, now would be a good time to look back. It’s really amazing to see how much has changed in just a week.

The house is beginning to look even better at the end of the fourth day of construction

There’s still protective plastic everywhere, but everywhere there isn’t plastic there has been amazing progress. If you’ll recall, during day 3 the staircase was ripped out. It wasn’t structurally sound when the house was purchased. Now, you can see for yourself what a difference a day makes – the stairs are halfway done today.

The house has been painted inside. That task started on day three and now the interior looks as beautiful as the exterior. Also, while some of the team members continue to paint the inside of the closet I took a quick shot of the newly installed window in the master bedroom. The boarded up window was an eyesore from the beginning, but I was so excited to see the window was replaced that I jumped up and down.  There’s so much more light in the room now!

I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the next few days. I think this house is going to be an amazing find for whoever gets the opportunity to purchase it. As always, more to come later…

After just three days of hard work, the upgrades are already starting to make a difference in the appearance of the house. A few of the functional changes that have been made are:

• The floor was pulled up in bedroom #1
• Railing was installed around the porch
• The stairs (that lead to the second floor) have been pulled up
• New caulking has been installed around some doorways
• The lawn has been cleared of a dozen bags of leaves

There are quite a few aesthetic changes to the house now too:

• The outside of the house was painted
• The porch was painted
• The inside of the house has been painted (although I was only there to see them put down the protective plastic and tape)
