Baby's First Concert....

The Captain got a wild hair while at the salon getting the boys haircuts yesterday..

He called me from there and said this...

"You wanna go to that concert? (BON JOVI)"

(We had friends that were going for their anniversary and I expressed my jealousy a time er thirty)

"LIKE DUH!!! OF COURSE I DO"

About 7 hours before the BON JOVI concert (which was 2 hours away)

We got tickets and called the oldest to see if she could babysit-she could!

Baby Nineya rocked out to Richie Sambora but was quiet during most of Bon Jovi.

It was so much fun & brought back SO MANY memories!

And might I add, Jon is NOT BAD to look at!

BUT, this guy is even BETTER to look at!

I want to thank The Captain today for

BEING SPONTANEOUS
Taking his PREGGO WIFE to see Bon Jovi
Laughing at me as I drooled over Jon
The great conversation & quality time
holding my hand
making sure the baby & I were pampered throughout the evening
my over-priced XXL concert T
Not laughing at me for bringing my pillow, blanket & pajamas to change into for the ride home.
Getting me home safely at 2:00am
AND JUST BEING DOWN RIGHT FUN to be around!

22 Weeks & 1st Gift

Baby Nineya got her first gift yesterday from a dear

friend of mine who is also pregnant!

We prayed for each other for a long time that

we would be able to be pregnant

at the same time and WOWZERS-we are! PTL!

I thank God for supportive friends-ones who will truly pray for you

AND support you having your 8th child and NOT think you're NUTS!

Friends who know & support that embryo adoption is a beautiful thing,

Friends who think children are a blessing, not a burden,

Friends who think that The Captain & I are capable of loving all 8 children!

Friends who don't judge us for following God's plan for our family.

I'm 22 weeks today-I'm getting OUT THERE!

I feel great and have my appointment with the nephrologist on Thursday.

Drugs & Peer Pressure...

DRUGS-This picture pretty much sums up our last 7 days.....

ALL 4 littlests have been on breathing treatments, cough medicine and ibuprofen

for the last several days

The 3 littlest have all been on

antibiotics for the last several days

Today My My also started antibiotics for an ear infection that snuck in to the mix.

Getting them all medicated and keeping the vaporizer full is a FULL TIME JOB!

I LOVE the way they are rooting her on to not be afraid to take her medicine.

I LOVE that they came up right beside her to give her instruction & encourage her.

SHE WAS NOT falling prey to peer pressure and drugs.

NO WAY-NO HOW!

It took a couple hours of her holding both the antibiotic and cough medicine

in her little medicine syringes

and she Was NOT happy to finally swallow it, but she did.

SO THANKFUL for medicine & doctors so my kids can get better!

WE CANNOT WAIT UNTIL THE CAPTAIN GETS HOME!

Baby's First Gift....

Here I am at 21 weeks!

(notice the RUMP?-junk in da trunk-WHOA!)

I am having some complications.

My proteinuria has quadrupled in the last month so I will be seeing a nephrologist (kidney specialist) in "the big city" for close monitoring next week.

ON A WONDERFUL NOTE

HERE is baby Nineya. PERFECT in every way!

They measured everything from her lips to her toes last Tuesday & she is

ABSOLUTELY PRECIOUS!

Notice her sweet arm tucked under her chin?

The Captain got to feel the first kicks a few nights ago-WHAT A BLESSING!

Her movement and perfect sonogram are confirmation to us that God is in control here.

He's in control of her development and of my health problems.

We are both HIS and he will take care of us.

On a fun note-2 weeks ago Bean and "T" both attended

AWANA Bible quizzing.

Part of the quizzing was a written test which they did well on and part is

asked orally & answered on a stage with cards marked A, B & C.

They were both nervous but did well.

I am very proud to say that both their teams brought home the first place plaques and medals.

Awana is a WONDERFUL program!

It has not only helped the kids hide God's word in their hearts,

But as a leader, has helped me do the same!

This is how our floor looked a few weeks ago.

Our new Great room floor meeting wood looking linoleum & carpet leading to the front door.

We ALL ripped up the linoleum and rolled up the carpet-BUH BYE!

Laid the blue pad stuff.

All littles had to have a hat on and pencil behind ear like The Captain.

Then The Captain cut &

laid the new floor to match our great room floor.

Then he laid another flooring in the entry way.

COOL HUH??

The ALMOST finished floor.

We still need to add trim, have carpet stretched and paint walls.

Plus remove the 1970's spindles

This post makes it sound so easy-it WAS NOT.

Thank you God for blessing me with a husband who can figure out ANYTHING!

I will admit, The Captain completing each home improvement project makes me

I will admit, my shopping habits have been NUTS since I found out we were having a GIRL!

I found this GREAT, INEXPENSIVE website where I found these DARLING headbands!

I got 5 flower clips and 9 head bands for $16 including shipping!

The cool thing is you can clip the flowers to different colored headbands depending on what they are wearing.

They also have sweet beanies you can clip the flowers on..DARLING!

I've seen these other places for $15 a piece!

5...How time FLIES!

For her 5th birthday, MyMy requested 2 things

1-go shopping with mommy alone for skirts
2-a party at the historic CW PARKER CAROUSEL

We set off EARLY last Saturday. The Captain and the other 5 littles stayed at my parents while MyMy and I went to the big city & hit the mall..

OH HOW I MISS IT living in the sticks...

She picked out several dresses & skirts and got hungry.

It was FREEZING outside so we went to the first restaurant we spotted-she had never been before.

She is SO GRATEFUL & has the KINDEST spirit!

She wanted broccoli cheese soup & a strawberry smoothie at Panera.

She ranted the enitre time about HOW WONDERFUL everything was.

The manager must have noticed her ADORABLENESS & offered her this pink heart cookie for her birthday treat-it was DIVINE, she shared with mommy!

After heading back to my parents & trying on all those new clothes, it was time to head to the carousel for her party!

The 6 littles and even some of the big peeps colored various carousel pictures.

Then came the entrance of WyWy's hero, Our SIL home from Iraq.

I think WyWy surprised him by clinging to his legs for quite some time.

My My designed her own DQ cake, I would have thought some type of princess or something but this is what she picked out-wording and ALL!

2 of her friends from home were able to make her party since they were nearby visiting family for the weekend-WONDERFUL!

EVERYONE enjoyed riding the carousel from young to old....

Happy 5th Birthday to our little MIGHTY MOUSE!

We thank God so much for delivering you to our home to love!

I have to admit, I want to be THE PIONEER WOMAN when I grow up.... She's just the bomb diggity.

I saw her recipe for her Italian Beef Drip and my mouth was WATERING & I had to try it...Especially since we just bought ourselves 1/2 a butchered cow and all...

Here's how it started..a simple chuck roast and a few other ingredients.

And in 6 hours of cookin' in the oven at 275-this is the PERTY thing it turns out to be....

Shred the meat with a fork, butter and toast some buns add some cheese on top and toast again and VIOLA!!! THE ITALIAN DRIP BEEF.

May I just say ALL 6 littles and The Captain loved this YUMMY SANDWICH!

OH, and baby Nineya and I dug it too!

SIMPLY DIVINE!!!!

PS-The big dog ALWAYS gets the roast bone...Sorry Tink!

JUST PASSING THIS ON FROM A FRIENDS BLOG.......Praying this sweet one finds her family...

Hello everyone:

We have just learned of a situation involving a little girl here in Ohio who has not yet been born and who is in need of a family. She was supposed to have been delivered via Cesarean section in early March, but it looks like her birth is imminent. The birth mother is currently in the hospital and has been given steroids to aid the development of the child's lungs as the end of the pregnancy draws near. In addition to being born somewhat premature, a neonatal neurologist believes that this baby girl is going to be blind and will have MRDD, hydrocephalus, seizures, and cerebal palsy. A final diagnosis will be made after the delivery, but this is what is expected at this point. The baby will be transferred to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus once she is born so that she can be evaluated for a shunt that will relieve the pressure caused by her hydrocephalus.

The reason that this precious little girl is being put up for adoption is that the birth mother is currently incarcerated. Because of her inability to parent the infant after she is born, we really need to find a family for her soon, lest she be placed into the foster care system. Up to this point, the birth mother has been calling the baby Annabelle, and hopes that the name can stay with the baby in some form. She would also like to receive annual updates on this girl via photos and a letter. The agency that is working to place her—Caring for Kids—is not charging any fees for their services. That means that the only fees that the adoptive family will face are the attorneys' fees, although there might be minimal fees for post-placement visits, as well.

I just ordered this sling for our new baby girl from Rockin' Baby Slings.

I figure with homeschooling and chasing the 6 littles around, carrying the 7th little to keep my hands free was a GREAT option. It even has a little pocket that I can keep an extra pop and Reese's in if need be.

For all of you baby wearing mamas out there, what is your favorite sling or pouch & why?

Her name is officially "NINEYA" (named by Bit But) until she gets her official name. The 6 littles are RELENTLESS at begging us to tell them the name-we gotta have SOMETHING be a secret. SO, until delivery...Nineya it is!!

I am now on 3 BP pills a day as my blood pressure gave me some trouble on Sunday. I also got my test results back and still have proteinuria. Praying for no pre-eclampsia ESPECIALLY after seeing the Duggars Special Delivery on Sunday night.

I bawled like a baby at EVERY measurement, identification of the bones, brain, spine etc....

Then it was time to SHOP!!!! I wanted to buy her first outfit. Something sweet & NOT ON SALE! This is the sweet dress & bloomers from Baby Gap that I chose.

I also got some onesies and this sweet pear dress and bloomers!

Bean does SUCH A GOOD JOB taking my belly pics each week!

Here I am at 16 weeks!

OK...Either I am not teaching my 5th grader a DARN THING OR he has his sights set on "the heavenly." This math test from today was too funny not to share. All you teachers and homeschooling moms will appreciate my "congruent ANGELS."Right after lunch, I went to throw away something in the trash. The trash is the pull out to the right of this pantry. I heard what sounded like a MOUSE. I HATE MICE. Cautiously opened up the door and there he was!!! THE BIGGEST MOUSE I'VE EVER SEEN! Scared me half to death!

Hope your school days are as exciting as mine!

Christmas, New Years, Blizzard, 13 weeks!

The Captain arrived home on the 27th. Our 2nd blizzard of the year was over. We were snowed in for 4 days. No one able to get in or out. Some kind neighbors came over and dug a path down the driveway so The Captain could get home that night. Here is me with my arm up on the snow in our driveway-it was flat crazy!The 28th we FINALLY had our family Christmas. It was a glorious day except for me getting stuck in the snow on my way to WALLY WORLD. I LOVE THIS PICTURE! All my children & The Captain-LOVELY! Missing is my SIL serving us unselfishly in Iraq.I BLAMED EVERYONE for the loss of my precious scotch tape about a week before Christmas & deemed myself insane for losing my mind and the tape!

BOY, DID I FEEL LIKE A TOTAL GOOBER when it was unwrapped in My My's gift-LOLBy the time I was ready to take a pic of my sweet 7-Bit But had had it! The Captain crouched down behind the couch and held him up for this priceless picture of my 7.Why ride my new Harley trike when I can nap in the box? We had a "HOT DATE" on New Years Eve! We left around 1:30pm to head to my OB appointment. I have been having some complications with my blood pressure & swelling so The Captain really needed to go with me. We then went out to eat at HUHOT ALONE! We visited the oldest at work and headed to the candy store where The Captain bought me my favorite sour candy and an ICEE & headed home to the kids. WE HAD SUCH A ROMANTIC TIME!

We busted out the Easy Bake Oven when we got home and T cooked up some treats, we had some snack food, played Battleship and were all in bed by 10pm. Our idea of a blissful NYE...
I am 13 weeks pregnant today. This pregnancy has been much rougher on me than I expected but we are SO THANKFUL for our sweet miracle baby. I am on twice daily blood pressure medicine & am now considered "HIGH RISK" until I give birth. I will be monitored closely with monthy sonograms, lots of extra testing and must check my bp often. I have a 1 in 4 chance of developing preeclampsia. Which is very scary. But I know OUR GOD will protect us.

The baby is doing fine-measuring great. We heard the heart beating at 156bpm on Thursday-such a comfort-music to our ears! In just 23 days we will know if we are having a boy or a girl! WE CAN'T WAIT!

May God Bless you all in 2010 as much as he has our family in 2009!

Loss of a Father to 11-just 2 days before Christmas...

I got some very sad news this morning...

The Lord has gained one of his "special ones" today in Glory Land. Derek Loux-brother-in-law of dear friend Tracie Loux was tragically killed in a car accident today. Derek has joined his son Josiah in heaven for Christmas.

Derek was father to 11 children (1 in heaven). He was an adoption and human trafficking advocate & was very involved in IHOP (International House of Prayer). A year ago they returned home with 3 special needs boys from Eastern Europe. I LOVED following Derek & Renee's journey while they were there, it was amazing to watch.

When The Captain's AWAY....

ALL HECK BREAKS LOOSE!!!

When The Captain is away working every other week-this is ALWAYS the times when the crisis' hits.

Monday night Bean cracked his head open at basketball practice and required 3 staples. I had a friend sit in the car with the other 5 littles at the hospital and watch a movie while I took him inside. Thank you Lord for FRIENDS!
We had a huge snow storm yesterday so we decided to do crafts and watch Christmas movies! Our creations....This is what the snow looked like out our side door at 6:30pm last night.And at 8:30pm once the 40mph BLIZZARD winds kicked in....

We are snowed in while The Captain is away. We don't mind. We always find something to do. We are greatful for heat, food, God and each other.

BTW-my morning sickness has been fairly hard to deal with. My energy level low, nausea level HIGH.

Bit But has been wearing that striped sweater since church Sunday (today is Wednesday people). Praying I will muster up the energy to bathe everyone tonight-its been since Saturday that I bathed them-SO NOT ME! I know it is only temporary and this new baby is a MIRACLE for our entire family and that is what is important....family...NOT A CLEAN FAMILY!

TRANSFER DAY!

October 22, 2009. A miraculous day!

I left my house at 4:09am for the KC airport! I met my friend Crystal there. The Captain & I decided that it would be best for him to stay home with the 6 littles. It's just difficult to leave them with anyone that doesn't know their daily routine and I knew I would be much more relaxed having him home with the kids. AND I WAS!

We arrived in L.A. around 9:15am. We got our rental car and we were hungry. We headed to get some FAMOUS IN-N-OUT BURGERS .Here are our burgers "animal style." I have dreamed about these burgers since..and the fries are cut & fried fresh to order-AHHHHHHH!

The traffic was fairly MOBBED getting out of L.A. and we did just fine in our HOT Dodge Caliber. We listened to a variety of 80s oldies since we couldn't find a K-LOVE station .

I drove the hour to get to the fertility clinic. I wasn't too nervous until I walked in the door. Then I felt EVERY MUSCLE tense up in my body. I paid the transfer fee $2200 and was taken back for the "mock transfer" and transvaginal u/s. The mock took about 10 seconds and the u/s looked PERFECT! 13mm lining and trilaminar. No free fluid or cysts. YAY!! Called The Captain to report :)

I was then moved into the transfer room pictured here.I called The Captain again and undressed, put on the ugly booties, took 1Valuim and was joined by Denise-my acupuncturist & she put the needles in. I normally am very relaxed by acupuncture but not this time. I was a nervous NELLY. I cranked on some calm Daniel Eric Groves worship music but was still agitated. I tried deep breathing and the Valium didn't to squat. BEFORE I KNEW IT, it was transfer time!

Dr. K came in and gave me the report on my 2 sweet embies. The one that was thawed on Wednesday is graded 5AAA and was already hatching out. The one thawed that morning was graded 4AAA. It was at THIS POINT that I got emotional and broke down. IT WAS REALLY HAPPENING! I apologized as the tears remained flowing quietly.

The 2 babies were loaded in a very tiny cathetar and ready for transfer. He said I would see a "flash" on the screen when the babies went in but I didn't see it really. They are so small (the size of a pin head). When he was all done. Dr, K gently rubbed my arm and said "You have jumped through many hoops to get these babies and you have done everything I have asked of you & the good news is, it could not have gone any more perfect." I then asked him what my percentage was of pregnancy. He said "70%-80%". Then I asked him what the percentage for twins was and he said "35%." That 35 saddened me. That there was a 65% chance our 2nd embryo would not survive. It was all in God's hands. I was then re-united with Crystal and wheeled out to the car for 48 hours of bed rest. My BSIC AMIE over at WILD OLIVE TEES sent me this tee to wear on my special day. She said God laid it on her heart that THIS was the shirt she was to send me. The front says "UNFLODING" The back has this verse on it

"He who began an good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6 AMEN!!!!!Crystal drove to our hotel on Ventura beach-we took a couple pictures & grabbed something to eat. Since she is a nurse she was also able to give me my daily injections WHEW!It is said that Pineapple's core contains bromelain, which can aid in implantation of the embryos so the chef at our hotel cut up an entire pineapple core for me and I ate the entire thing-IT WORKED! I then retreated to our room. I took another Valium around 6pm as I opened the balcony door and listened to the waves, I drifted off to sleep. I woke up at 11pm to go potty and write in my journal & pray then went to sleep until 6am. A good 12 hour sleep is just what the babies and I needed.

For The Captain :)The only time I got up was to go get a massage, go to the bathroom or go eat. We ate at some fabulous places & only tried things we hadn't before. I did a lot of this.....AND THIS....Hand on my new little ones.The morning we left, we decided to take a scenic drive up to Grant's Park at the top of the mountain after watching the surfers for the last time. Our hotel is the tall building in the distance.The Padre Serra Cross was the perfect place to say a prayer and blessings over the sweet ones in my womb. Crystal prayed with her hand on my belly for these 2 little lives to grow and "make it" and I promptly BAWLED like a baby.
We ate breakfast at a 5o's style diner before leaving. Crystal was QUITE upset about the sign behind her.Before I knew it we were back on the plane to Kansas- wreaking havoc to all around us. We had a FABULOUS TIME together! Thank you so much CRYSTAL!I took a Dollar Tree HPT (home pregnancy test) 5 days after my little ones were implanted & got my first POSITIVE! I took one every day after until I got my first positive beta blood test on November 2nd. I know it sounds nuts but 1.-they are $1 and 2. when you have dreamed of this moment for years TEST ALL YOU WANT if thats what it takes to keep you sane!Isn't it all just a miracle?

It is still VERY SURREAL to me. I still cannot believe Me, I am pregnant!

The Captain & I could not be more ecstatic that God has blessed us with yet another miraculous gift!
