In reply to Akshay. Thanks for your question Akshay. A good option for thick carpet is a glass mat. They are more expensive, but very durable. In reply to Howard. Hi Howard: I agree glass chair mats are much more durable. The Lorell is a great value. The more expensive mats like the Vitrazza have an additional scratch-resistant coating. They also have a slightly better warranty (transferable lifetime) and offer an option for an ultra-clear glass (Luminoso) which is nice if you are going for a certain look. Also, Vitrazza is made in the USA vs overseas if that matters.
